Thanks to you for this opportunity and for your patience

 

How have you been?

 

Very well! We recently release our new video "Gloria victis". We have had a good reaction with it.

We have received a lot of support and even a nomination, which make us very happy.

On the other hand, i'm very excited because i'm going to make an important test for my professional career.

With this test i will end a cycle and move on.

 

Who is Myrthala? Tell us a little about you.

 

Who i am? i'm just a person searching to overcome herself.

 

What has been your path?

 

Just to be in the right place with the right people. I was starting my career as a singer when my dear friends (now my brothers) invited me to their project.

This project has given me a lot of great experiences.

 

What are your musical influences?

 

If we speak of genres, my influences have been several.

My metal path started with Guns and roses, Rhapsody, Whitesnake, later Within Temptation, Nightwish, Dream Theater and many guilty pleasures. lol.

 

What are your Hobbies? Do you have other profession?

 

All my life have had the taste for the arts, specially plastic arts. I have a degree in graphic design.

Although, i don't practice at the moment.

I find in the drawing the same pleasure like meditation.

 

What does the name Mutum mean?

 

Roy Cantú took lessons of latin and he found this word that means "mutual".

It symbolizes the brotherhood that exists between us. Besides is a palindrome.

Visually speaking is a very interesting word.

 

Who are the members?

 

Roy Cantú - main guitar

Chato - rhythm guitar

Diego - bass

Juan de Dios Martínez - drums

They were the the founders of the band, a few time later Hiram Aguirre - keyboards and finally i joined to them.

 

In your words, what is symphonic metal? and how do you think it should be here in México?

 

Symphonic metal is a game where you can play with a lot of instruments, this genre has a timbre richness. Is just exquisite to hear it and live it.

Here in México exists a big problem, people don't want to hear or support mexican music, they have a bad idea of us.

It shouldn't be like that, i want to tell to the mexican people, please give yourself a chance to hear what your people make.

 

Tell us about your past album

 

Since the beginning we decided to make something big: the studio, musicians and the whole concept.

We got into trouble but at the end it was worth it. The result was great from the recording until the cover art.

The album takes you to the past till the future, is all in the lyrics.

 

What do you want to transmit us with your music?

 

When we are on stage we want to transmit them all about us, our inner forces.

Besides, it depends of the concept, we search a feeling and then we share it.

 

What is your biggest musical influence?

 

There are many people and i try to learn a little about all of them. Since a philosopher, poet, scientist to an ordinary person.

 

Tell us about your video "Gloria victis"

 

We choose "gloria victis" because it was the best way to present the album. This song has the main elements of the whole album.

About the production, this video was a collaboration between México and Poland.

It took us a lot of time but finally it was worth it.

 

There'll be a new video soon?

 

We want to make a new version of a song, a live version.

 

Does the new production is ready?

 

Not yet but we are working in it

 

What can you tell us about the new production?

 

Nothing really, but we hope to make something big

 

There'll be a tour in Latin America?

 

We have had some proposals and we are thinking about them.

We would be happy of visit latin america, but in this moment we only can visit our country.

Muchas gracias a Myrthala Bray por esta oportunidad, de una banda Mexicana con un potencial excelente, del estilo de Metal Sinfónico, y un disco muy bueno, ella nos deja esta entrevista el cual muy interesante acerca de su producción y vídeo de este año

-A ustedes por este espacio y por su paciencia.

 

Como has estado?

 

- Muy bien! Hace poco más de un mes estrenamos nuestro vídeo “Gloria Victis”. Con él hemos tenido muy buena respuesta, muchísimo apoyo y hasta por ahí una nominación, lo cual me hace estar sumamente agradecida y feliz. Por otro lado, en lo personal, también muy emocionada ya que estoy muy próxima a presentar un examen que es muy importante en mi vida profesional. Con este cierro un ciclo y adelante! Feliz!

 

Quien es Myrthala? Cuéntanos un poco de ti?

 

- Quién soy? Una persona buscando superarse.

 

Cual fue la trayectoria que te llevo a estar en este estilo?

 

- Solamente el estar en el lugar indicado y con las personas indicadas. Yo estaba iniciando mi carrera como cantante cuando recibí, de parte de mis entonces compañeros y ahora mis hermanos, la invitación para participar en este proyecto, el cual me ha obsequiado muchas y muy gratas experiencias

 

Cuáles son tus influencias musicales?

 

- Si de géneros musicales hablamos, mis influencias han sido muy variadas, pero mi camino por el metal inició escuchando GnR, Rhapsody, Whitesnake, luego Within Temptation, Nightwish, Dream Theater y muchos guilty pleasures jaja

 

Cuáles son tus hoobies, tienes alguna otra profesión?

 

- Toda mi vida he tenido el gusto por las artes, las plásticas y musicales principalmente. Tengo una Licenciatura en Diseño Gráfico y, aunque no lo ejerzo actualmente, encuentro en el dibujo la misma experiencia que vivo al meditar y una muy parecida que la que vivo al estar plantada en un escenario.

 

Mutum que significa, que hay detrás del nombre?

 

- Roy Cantú (guitarra), llevó durante un tiempo un curso de Latín, y esta palabra “mutum” salió de ahí. Al español se traduce como “mutuo”, lo que para nosotros simboliza la hermandad que existe entre nosotros. Sumándole a eso que es un palíndromo, lo cual nos pareció muy interesante, visualmente hablando.

 

Quienes son los integrantes? Para ti que es el Metal Sinfónico y cómo crees que debería ser aquí en México?

 

- Roy Cantú en la guitarra líder, Chato en la rítmica, Diego en el bajo y Juan de Dios Martínez en la batería. Ellos fueron los fundadores de la banda, ya después entramos Hiram Aguirre en el teclado y yo en la voz.

 

- Al poder jugar con todos los instrumentos que componen a una orquesta sinfónica, este género goza de una riqueza de timbres y colores EXQUISITA de escuchar y de VIVIR. Aquí en México se descarta mucho la idea de asistir a un evento o escuchar a una banda sólo por saber que es nacional y no debería ser así. México: Date la oportunidad de escuchar lo que hace tu gente.

 

Cuéntanos acerca de su álbum pasado, como fue la idea o producción?

 

- "Premonitions" desde un inicio se pensó en grande: los músicos, el estudio, el concepto... Creo que por eso nos metimos en muchos problemas jaja pero a fin de cuentas todo valió la pena. El resultado, desde la grabación hasta el arte, nos tiene muy contentos. Este disco en sus letras te lleva desde el pasado hasta un futuro sugerido para nuestro personaje, en un plano tanto físico, como mental y espiritual.

 

Que nos quieres trasmitir con su música? Cuál es tu mayor influencia musical e ideológica?

 

- Al momento de cantar o de tocar, se busca trasmitir lo que está en nuestro interior. Dependiendo de la temática, se busca un sentimiento en específico y se comparte. Todo se hace con el corazón y en cada tocada lo entregamos todo.

 

- Hay muchas muy grandes personas y busco aprender lo mejor de cada una de ellas, ya sea un personaje de mi vida diaria, algún filósofo, poeta o científico.

 

Cuéntanos de su video "GLORIA VICTIS" cómo fue la producción y porqué esa canción? 

 

- Elegimos "Gloria Victis” porque la vimos como la tarjeta de presentación de este Album, como el concentrado de PoW, porque en esta canción vienen todos los elementos que veremos a lo largo del disco.

 

En cuanto a producción, este vídeo fue una colaboración Monterrey-Polonia. Solo las escenas de la banda fueron grabadas aquí, y aunque nos tomó más tiempo del esperado, el resultado final nos encantó.

 

Habrá otro videoclip de este álbum?

 

- Estamos pendientes de sacar un vídeo en vivo de alguna rola del Premonitions, pero otro sencillo ya no, ya estamos con la mirada atenta a lo que viene...

 

Ya hay nueva producción?

 

- Estamos comenzando a trabajar en ella.

 

Que nos puedes decir de esta nueva producción, cuál será la sorpresa?

 

- Ni yo lo sé, todavía. Sólo sé que esperamos sorprendernos a nosotros mismos.

 

Tour en Latino América, cuando los veremos?

 

- Hemos tenido algunas propuestas que ahorita estamos asimilando. Nos encantaría un tour por Latino América, pero por ahora tenemos planeado visitar algunas ciudades de nuestro país a finales de este año/inicios del que viene.
