Hailing from the mountains, In Somnia is a modern metal quartett, blending influences of all modern types of metal to create a unique, dark sound. While the lyrics are set in themes of traumata and philosophical thoughts, the instrumentation is catchy while complex. With assistance of movie score composer Christoph Manucredo, the band managed to combine brachial violence with a certain dark atmosphere intercepted by the groove- and -core metal influences of Dominic Granegger on the drums and djent influences of Florian Bacher on the bass. The two virtuoso guitar players Andreas Wibmer and Simon Andreas Brunner are shifting heart melting leads to pure rawness, while the vocals are tackling from whispers, screams, growls to clear. Listening to their music you can hear and feel an honest soul strip, the average experience of 16 years on their instruments, the thirst for new and change and it will leave you in a critical mental condition.

We found a way of self-cure in getting rid of all negativity in life by dropping it into our music. Most of the songs are based on true stories, true emotion and true pain. We are artists drawing pictures of our unique world into the air and into the hearts.

​

We have a brutal entrance! Those powerful guitars with rough and hard chords, the drum line makes a strong presence, there are interesting progressive melodic parts, excellent structure, fast parts and slow ones.

Guillotine

​

We continue with a fast, melodic and powerful entrance, the powerful drum line, very fresh melodic death, modern with djen metal passages with a bit of Groove elements.

​

Crossing Styx

​

A bit of an electro start, which later we are assaulted by powerful chords and drums with the influences mentioned above as in Guillotine, with a brutal voice explosiveness! A very remarkable riff too.

Something Ends Something Begins

​

A smooth, elegant entry in the company of the piano, but after a storm of powerful chords, we continue with the powerful chords with guitars in their maximum splendor.

Breathing Soil

​

We have another elegant, smooth entry in the company of piano musical notes, which later we return with high and low tones in that totally heavy guitar line.

The Void

​

We have a song with a bit more folk style, melodic and rhythmic, heavy chords, but not as accentuated as in the previous songs, as well as the drums, short riffs and also with the same scale and power.

​

A powerful song from the beginning, structured rhythm changes with very low-pitched and distorted guitars, with a heavy style and short solos too.

Onomatopoesis

​

Heavy, dense sounds, serious tuned chords and heavy distorted chords, like the drums, we continue in the same line that they have shown us, in many of their songs we also find a bit of industrial elements.

Ripping The Veil

​

And closing this album full of modern musical elements, they leave us a song with equal power and tempo changes from soft elements like at the beginning of the song to powerful death melodic elements.

My Recomendation

​

Harlequin's album is a modern production, with many musical structures as they describe it, with many influences within Djent Metal such as Progressive Metal, Groove metal elements and the melodic part of Death Metal, they make this album varied within these sounds, but with a very notable line, handling similar scales in several parts, power, strength, distorted guitars and very bass that give it a great musical heaviness! Combining clean voices, ranging from whispers, screams and growls, it really is a powerful album with a dark and gloomy sound, the musical style is catchy and complex in many parts of the album, in some passages we find strong riffs, short solos, a little of sounds like folk metal and some influence of industrial metal and we can hear it from Rollercoaster to the end.

Proveniente de las montañas, In Somnia es un cuarteto de metal moderno, que combina influencias de todos los tipos modernos de metal para crear un sonido oscuro y único. Si bien la letra está ambientada en temas de trauma y pensamientos filosóficos, la instrumentación es pegadiza a la vez que compleja. Con la ayuda del compositor de bandas sonoras Christoph Manucredo, la banda logró combinar la violencia braquial con una cierta atmósfera oscura interceptada por el groove y el core metal.

Los dos virtuosos guitarristas Andreas Wibmer y Simon Andreas Brunner están cambiando el corazón que derrite las pistas hacia la crudeza pura, mientras que las voces van de susurros, gritos y gruñidos para aclararse. Al escuchar su música se puede escuchar y sentir una franja de alma honesta, la experiencia promedio de 16 años en sus instrumentos, la sed de nuevos y cambios y eso te dejará en una condición mental crítica.

Tenemos una entrada brutal! Esas guitarras potentes con acordes ásperos y duros, la línea de la batería hace fuerte presencia, hay partes melódicas progresivas interesantes, excelente estructura, partes rápidas y otras lentas.

Guillotine

​

Seguimos con una entrada rápida, melódica y potente, la línea de la batería poderosa, melodic death muy fresco, moderno con pasajes djen metal con un poco de elementos Groove. 

​

​

Un inicio un poco electro, que después nos asaltan potentes acordes y batería con las influencias antes dichas como en Guillotine, con una explosividad de voz brutal! Un riff muy destacable también.

​

Una entrada suave, elegante en compañía de piano, pero después una tormenta de acordes poderosos, seguimos con los acordes potentes con unas guitarras en su máximo esplendor.

Breathing Soil

​

Tenemos otra entrada elegante, suave en compañía de notas musicales de piano, el cual después volvemos con tonos altos y graves en esa línea de guitarras totalmente pesada.

​

Tenemos una canción un poco con mayor estilo folk, melódica y rítmica, acordes pesados, pero no tan acentuados como en las canciones anteriores, al igual que la batería, riffs breves y también con la misma escala y potencia.

Harlequin

​

Una canción desde el inicio potente, cambios de ritmo estructurados con guitarras afinadas muy grave y con distorsión, con un estilo pesado y solos breves también. 

​

Onomatopoesis

​

Sonidos pesados, densos, acordes afinados graves y distorsionados pesados, al igual que la batería, seguimos en la misma línea que nos han mostrado, en muchas de sus canciones encontramos también un poco de elementos industriales.

​

Ripping The Veil

​

Y cerrando este albúm lleno de elementos musicales modernos, nos dejan una canción con igual potencia y cambios de tempo desde elementos suaves como al inicio de la canción hasta elementos melódicos death potentes.

Mi Recomendación

​

El albúm de Harlequin es una producción moderna, con muchas estructuras musicales tal como ellos lo describen, con muchas influencias dentro del Djent Metal como el Metal Progresivo, elementos Groove metal y la parte melódica del Death Metal, hacen que este albúm sea variado dentro de estos sonidos, pero con una línea bien notable, manejando escalas similares en varias partes, potencia, fuerza, guitarras distorsionadas y muy graves que le dan una pesadez musical genial! Combinando voces limpias, que van desde susurros, gritos y gruñidos, realmente es un albúm potente con un sonido oscuro y sombrío, el estilo musical es pegadizo y complejo en muchas partes del albúm, en algunos pasajes encontramos riffs fuertes, solos breves, un poco de sonidos tipo folk metal y cierta influencia de metal industrial y lo podemos escuchar desde Rollercoaster hasta la parte final.
