thank you very much for staying with us! beginning of this year I bring you an interview with a very powerful group and with an amazing woman! Of the genre Death Metal, which she was in the MFVF in Belgian the last year!

How are you my friend?

 

I’m pretty fine thanks, I had great christmas and new year’s eve, hope you  did too. And we are ready to move back into action with DOD !

Tell us your history! tell us about yourself ! who is Audrey !

 

Well, I’m 26 years old (27 this month in fact^^), I’m a rock/metal fan since I was very young and I started to sing when I was around 14 years old. At that time, I was mostly fan of the symphonic metal genre and classical music, so I studied opera singing during several years. I started to sing for DOD at its creation in 2008, and since my influences evolved to metalcore, deathcore bands and then I wanted to do other things. So I started to scream 3 years ago and I like that very much !

 

What are your musical influences ?

 

I’m very open to all musical genres (or almost^^), but what I like the most is metalcore and deathcore genre. I can name Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Upon A Burning Body, The Devil Wears Prada, Of Mice and Men, Straight Line Stitch, The Agonist, As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, and many others… 

What I appreciate in that genre is the mix between the powerful and the melodies.

 

What are your hoobies, what do you like to do out scenary?

 

Well, I like animals (especially cats, I have 3 of them), the cinema, tv series and reading books, of the fanstastic genre mostly, of course I like to go to concerts, festivals and also play at them, like a lot of people I like partying with friends, travelling...

 

Diary of Destruction is Death, Core or both?

 

Diffuclt to say, we don’t like so much to define exactly what kind of music we do and so put up some barriers to ourselves. The most important for us is what people feel when they listen to our music. 
But I would say both ‘cause death and core are part of our influences, amongt other genres.

 

Tell us about your experience in the MFVF 2014!!

 

It was an amazing experience, very stressful though ‘cause it was a very important and big date for us, but it was great, we had fun and people were very receptive.

 

Tell us the Good was… and the Bad was…in the MFVF!

 

Well, the good : playing on a great stage like this, in front of so many receptive and supportive people, seeing a lot of friends and sharing the bill with amazing bands !

The bad : there is not so much bad that I remember in fact, except like I said, the stress and pressure to open for such a big event, so of course some mistakes on stage. Otherwise, we keep only very good memories.

 

About your Album Dark Road To Recovery:

 

As has been the acceptance of your album ?

 

Very good, more than we hoped ! And it's very encouraging for the following. Our fans really appreciate our new direction, so we're glad.

 

As consider your album, the essence of the band or just a sample of their musical potential?

 

Without hesitation, just a sample of the musical potential of the band. It’s hard for a young formation to find a cohesion and so behing efficient straightaway. The line up evolved, the musical influences too, we took time but now we are ready to show our real potential.

 

Do you wrote some songs?

 

Yes, I write all the lyrics, and the guys create the musical parts.

 

That surprises have we Diary of Destruction for the new year? I have seen many shows you are ready for this 2015.

Yes, indeed we are ready and completely back on board ! So there will be some very good dates, and some revelations about the new album coming. You'll also discover a new face in the band.

 

There will be some other musical video like "That's it !"? is great the video!

 

Yes of course, but not for now. Actually we are preparing our second album, composing the last songs, and then we’ll enter the studio. Once the recording done, we shall worry about a new video clip.

 

There will be new album ?

 

We hope for the end of 2015, yes.

Muchas gracias por seguir con nosotros! este inicio de año les traigo una entrevista con un grupo muy potente y con una mujer increíble! del genero Death Metal, el cual estuvo en el MFVF de Bélgica el año pasado!

Como estas mi amiga ?

 

Estoy estupenda, gracias, tuve una bonita navidad y un gran año nuevo, espero que tu tambien lo hayas tenido y aquí estamos listos de regreso a la acción con DOD (Diary of Destruction) !

Cuentanos tu historia ! dinos sobre ti ! Quien es Audrey !

 

Bueno yo tengo 26 años (27 en este mes de hecho ^^) yo era fan del Metal/Rock desde que era muy joven y empece cantando cuando tenia 14 años En ese momento, yo era mayormente fan del género del metal sinfónico y la música clásica, así que estudié canto lírico durante varios años. Empecé a cantar para DOD en su creación en 2008, y desde mis influencias evolucionaron en metalcore, deathcore y luego quería hacer otras cosas. Así que empecé a gritar desde hace 3 años y eso me gusta mucho!

 

Cuales son tus influencias Musicales ?

Yo estoy abierta a todos los generos musicales (o casi^^), Pero me gusta mas el Metalcore y Deathcore. Lo que yo aprecio en este genero es la combinación entre la potencia y las melodías

 

Cuales son tus hoobies, que te gusta hacer fuera del escenario ?

 

Me gustan los animales (especialmente los gatos, tengo 3 de ellos) el cine, las series de TV leer, sobre todo del genero fantastico, por supuesto ir a conciertos, festivales y tocar con ellos, como a mucha gente, ir a fiestas con amigos, viajar…

 

Diary of Destruction es Death, Core o Ambos?

Es difícil de decir, que no nos gusta mucho que definir exactamente qué tipo de música que hacemos y colocamos algunas barreras a nosotros mismos. Lo más importante para nosotros es lo que la gente sienta cuando escuchan nuestra música.

 

Pero yo diría ambos porque el Death y el Core son parte de nuestras influencias, aunque tambien otros géneros.

 

Dinos de tu experiencia en el MFVF del 2014 !!

Fue una experiencia asombroza, aunque muy estresante porque era una fecha muy importante y grande para nosotros, pero fue genial, nos divertimos y la gente era muy receptiva.

 

Cuentanos lo bueno y lo malo en el Festival MFVF !

 

Lo bueno : tocando en un gran escenario como este, frente a tantas personas receptivas y solidarias, ver a un montón de amigos y compartiendo cartel con bandas increíbles!

Lo malo : no hay tantas malas que me acuerdo, de hecho, excepto como he dicho, el estrés y la presión de abrir para un evento tan grande, así que por supuesto algunos errores en el escenario. De lo contrario, mantenemos sólo muy buenos recuerdos.

 

Sobre tu album Dark Road To Recovery:

 

Como ha sido la aceptacion de tu album ?

 

Muy bueno, más de lo que esperábamos! Y es muy alentador para el siguiente. Nuestros fans realmente aprecian nuestra nueva dirección, por lo que estamos contentos !

 

Como consideras tu álbum la esencia de la banda o solo una muestra de su potencia musical ?

Sin dudarlo, sólo una muestra del potencial musical de la banda. Es difícil para una formación de jóvenes para encontrar una cohesión he inmediatamente eficiente. La formación se desarrolló, las influencias musicales también, nos tomamos el tiempo pero ahora estamos listos para mostrar nuestro potencial real.

 

Tu escribes algunas canciones ?

 

Si, escribo toda la letra, y los chicos crean las partes musicales.

 

Que sorpresas nos tiene Diary of Destruction para este nuevo año? He visto que tienen muchos shows para este 2015

Sí, de hecho estamos listos y completamente de regreso a bordo! Así que habrá algunas muy buenas fechas, y algunas revelaciones sobre el nuevo álbum que viene. También descubrirá una cara nueva de la banda.

 

Habra algún vídeo musical como "That's it !” ? es un buen vídeo!

 

Sí, por supuesto, pero no por ahora. De hecho estamos preparando nuestro segundo álbum, componiendo las últimas canciones, y luego vamos a entrar en el estudio. Una vez que la grabación este hecha, vamos a preocuparnos por un nuevo videoclip.

 

Habra nuevo álbum ?

Esperamos para finales del 2015, ya
