Greetings! Friends! here I bring this interview to a Super Spartan beauty! if our friend, Karolina Pacan of Skeptical Minds!

 

Lead singer of the group Skeptical Minds, mysterious, gothic, ... Karolina is an  voice Lirica, very characteristic, which may go lyric opera to the chest voice and the soprano growl. The result of these various influences yields a unique musical genre. Melodic, mysterious, dark, yet powerful and aggressive as many of us like it, Wherever she appears, really genuine and original!

Karo : hello Darkzen !

Darkzen : Tell us who is Karolina Pacan in this year 2014?

 

Karo : Hello : ) First of all, thank you for taking your time to interview me ! Well I am the same hard worker since years. If you want to do something in music, you need to work and progress constantly. I don’t think I’m different in 2014 than the one I was in 2008. I get more experiences every year, that’s the only change I can see

 

Darkzen : What goals you have in mind ?

 

Karo : Like always : as many good concerts as possible ! And for 2014, new album, and… I am also working on something really special, but I can’t say nothing about it right now hehe. You’ll have news very soon, in the upcoming months. Stay tuned and you will see. I think it’s unexpected and surprising. But the most important for me is to enjoy what I do and experiment things.

 

Darkzen : Skeptical Minds who are right now ?

 

Karo : Skeptical Minds is now a band with more experience, determinated and passionate with what they do ! I really like those guys and we feel like a real family. No problem between us and good collaboration and teamworking.

 

Darkzen : How would you best describe the sound Skeptical Minds in this moment ?

 

Karo : Right now, we are more heavy and dark than on “Skepticalized” album. We try to reach deep inside of our souls and bring all what is hidden. You will find strange riffs, strong electro and many variations of voice. Skeptical Minds’ sound is in constant evolution. From the first album until now, we always had an evolution. Before, we were more dark and ambient. The electro was made But lot of loops and was less complex than now. We never changed the ingredients : Electro Indus base, metal guitar riffs and melodic female voice. We just developed our music and directions we take. Second album was less ambient, rythms became more dynamic and electro much more complex. The last EP gives the direction of the new album: more aggressive, darker, quicker and stronger. Ingredients don’t change, just the receipt does

 

Darkzen : Which would you say vocalists are your biggest influences for you ?

 

 Karo : Hmmm not really influence, because I don’t like to copy anybody. But I do appreciate many singers who follow their path firmly. I can name many but I am afraid that this intervew would go very long heheh. But ok… since you ask, I will give you very few names. I do appreciate Tarja, Maxi Nil (Jaded Star), Androniki Skoula (Chaostar), Angel Wolf-Black (Seduce The Heaven), Iliana Tsakiraki (Enemy of Reality), Evi Stergiou (Daemonia Nymphe), Sanna Salou (Dimlight) , Aziza A. Poggi (Aria Flame) and many more ! . Ulalal I said just few… see ? it’s not easy Except Tarja, they are girl with whom I have regular contacts and a real friendship !!!

 

Darkzen : Have you got a favorite Female Fronted band and if so which is your favorite and why?

 

Karo : And again, there are realy many bands, it too hard to name only few. I want to say Nightwish because it’s the first example I had and wanted to follow. They showed to me that a metal band with female singer can reach everything. That’s how I started also to make my dream come true. Since then, many other examples came but Nightwish was my first inspiration. ; )

 

Darkzen : You have the inquitud do some duet later ?

 

Karo : I did already, at last MFVF in Belgium I have sung 2 cover songs with Sanna Salou and Angel Wolf –Black. Before that, I also made duet with Iliana Tsakiraki who was guest for Skeptical Minds song “Broken Dolls”. We had the opportunity to do that on stage in Greece and in Belgium. Those moments were great ! Beside metal, I also recently made a collaboration with an english traditional singer and gentleman: John Whitehead ! I really appreciated to do that.

 

Darkzen : The band are currently working on a new album or video clip?

 

Karo : Yes indeed. We are busy with new album and special comic that will be released with the album. That takes lot of time and money that’s why it will be delayed a bit. We initially thought to release it around begin may but I think it will come around end of this year. Let’s see how things are going, but we keep working on it .The new album has-been Described as a ' concept ' , what is the story behind the album ,All I can say for the momement is that it’s very twisted story but it certainly happened many times in real life. Especially when we loose control of reality, of our life or our destiny… that’s all I will say now

 

Darkzen :Skeptical Minds have played in the Female Fronted Metal Festival, in Belgium ,how did you find the whole experience , tell us ?

 

Karo :We have played there many times already, and this year we are also confirmed ! It’s great pleasure for us to know that promoters and fans do like what we do ! Everytime that experience is just magical ! So many emotions passing through your body and mind… and you feel it’s shared with the audience. They give you back a lot and we really appreciate that !! I think all bands who attempt that festival have the same feeling. It’s just like your dreams become true. Excellent feeling and experiences.

 

Darkzen : When you could come to Latin America ?

 

Karo :When we will be invited . You know, as band, we want to go to play everywhere and in all the places where fans want to see us. We have lot of friends and fans from Mexico, Brasil, Uruguay, Chile who write and support us regularly. The problem is that we need local promoters to invite us and find enough dates to cover the costs. Such trips are for us very expensive… If nobody helps (label, promoters, states,…), it’s impossible to built that by ourselves. We have people who help us to build and we hope to reach that point soon ! We play regularly outside our country now, but only in Europe. Difficult to go outside because of the costs. But we work on it. Every year, we make new steps. Let’s hope the next years will make us meet people from latina America !!! We won’t give up ! Other did it before us, then we also can do it. Why not?

Karo : This is Sparta !!! Stay yourself my friends and never EVER give up on your good dreams. One rule: never harm others to reach your goal , Be correct with others. It’s too easy to put others down to go forward… but I believe you take it back soon or late.

¡Saludos! Amigos! aquí les traigo esta entrevista a una belleza Espartana! si nuestra amiga, Karolina Pacan de Skeptical Minds!

 

Vocalista del grupo Skeptical Minds, misteriosa, gótica, ... Karolina es un voz excelente, muy característica, que puede ir de la ópera lírica a la voz de pecho y el gruñido. El resultado de estas diversas influencias se obtiene un género musical único melódico, misterioso, oscuro, pero potente y agresivo como muchos de nosotros que nos gusta muy genuino y original!

 

Vamos con la entrevista!

 

Karo: hola Darkzen!

 

Gracias a mi amiga! Por esta entrevista!

 

Darkzen: Dinos quién es Karolina Pacan en este año 2014?

 

Karo: Hola:) En primer lugar, gracias por tu tiempo para hacerme una entrevista! Bueno, yo soy la misma trabajadora desde hace años. Si uno quiere hacer algo en la música, lo que necesita para trabajar y progresar constantemente. No creo que soy diferente en 2014 que la que estaba en 2008. Puedo conseguir más experiencias cada año, ese es el único cambio que veo

 

Darkzen: ¿Qué objetivos tienes en mente?

 

Karo: Como siempre, como muchos buenos conciertos como sea posible! Y para 2014, el nuevo álbum, y ... también estoy trabajando en algo realmente especial, pero no puedo decir nada al respecto ahora mismo jeje. Vas a tener noticias muy pronto, en los próximos meses. Estén atentos y verán. Creo que es inesperado y sorprendente. Pero lo más importante para mí es disfrutar de lo que hago y experimentar cosas.

 

Darkzen: Skeptical Minds como están en este momento?

 

Karo: Skeptical Minds es ahora una banda con más experiencia, determinada y apasionada con lo que hacemos! Me gusta mucho los chicos y nos sentimos como una familia real. No hay ningún problema entre nosotros y una buena colaboración y el trabajo en equipo.

 

Darkzen : ¿Cómo describiría el sonido Skeptical Minds en este momento?

 

Karo : Ahora mismo, estamos más pesados y oscuros que en el álbum " Skepticalized " . Tratamos de llegar a lo más profundo de nuestras almas y traer todo lo que está oculto. Va a encontrar riffs extraños, fuerte electro y muchas variaciones de voz. Sonido Skeptical Minds ' está en constante evolución. Desde el primer álbum hasta ahora, siempre hemos tenido una evolución. Antes, estábamos más oscuros y ambient. El electro se hizo para muchos bucles y era menos complejo que ahora. Nunca hemos cambiado los ingredientes: Base Electro Indus, riffs de guitarra de metal y voz femenina melódica. Nos desarrollamos nuestra música y direcciones que tomamos. El Segundo álbum fue menos ambient, los ritmos hicieron más dinámico y electro mucho más complejo. El último EP da la dirección del nuevo álbum: más agresivo, más oscuro, más rápido y más fuerte. Ingredientes no cambian.

 

Darkzen: ¿Cuáles son los vocalistas con mayores influencias para ti?

 

 Karo : Hmmm , influir realmente no, porque no me gusta copiar a nadie . Pero yo agradezco muchos cantantes que siguen su camino con firmeza. Puedo nombrar a muchos, pero me temo que esta intervew iría mucho jejeje . Pero bueno ... ya que lo preguntas , te voy a dar muy pocos nombres . Aprecio a Tarja , Maxi Nill ( Jaded Star) , Androniki Skoula ( Chaostar ), Ángel Wolf- Black ( Seducen The Heaven) , Iliana Tsakiraki ( Enemy of Reality ) , Evi Stergiou ( Daemonia Nymphe ) , Sanna Salou ( Dimlight ) , Aziza A. Poggi ( Aria in flame ) y muchas más! . Ulalal te dije sólo algunos ... ¿ves? no es fácil  Excepto Tarja , son chicas con la que tengo contacto regular y una verdadera amistad !

 

Darkzen: ¿Tienes un grupo favorito dentro del female metal y si es así cuál es tu favorito y por qué?

 

Karo: de nuevo, hay realmente muchas bandas, es demasiado dificil para nombrar sólo algunos. Quiero decir Nightwish porque es el primer ejemplo de lo que tenía y quería seguir. Ellos me mostraron que una banda de metal con cantante femenina puede alcanzar todo. Así es como empecé también a hacer mi sueño hecho realidad. Desde entonces, muchos otros ejemplos, pero vinieron Nightwish fue mi primera inspiración. ; )

 

Darkzen: tienes la inquietud de hacer algún dúo más tarde?

 

Karo: Ya lo hice, en el MFVF pasado en Bélgica he cantado 2 covers con Sanna Salou y Angel Wolf Black. Antes de eso, también hice dúo con Iliana Tsakiraki que fue invitada para Skeptical Minds canción "Broken Dolls". Tuvimos la oportunidad de hacerlo en el escenario en Grecia y en Bélgica. Esos momentos fueron muy buenos! dentro del metal, también recientemente hize una colaboración con un cantante tradicional Inglés y caballeroso: John Whitehead! Me gustó mucho hacer eso!

 

Darkzen : La banda está actualmente trabajando en un nuevo disco o video clip?

 

Karo : Sí, por supuesto . Estamos ocupados con nuevo disco y cómic especial que se dará a conocer con el álbum. Para eso se necesita mucho tiempo y dinero es por eso que se retrasará un poco. Al principio pensamos lanzarlo alrededor comenzar mayo, pero creo que va a venir en torno a finales de este año. Vamos a ver cómo van las cosas, pero seguimos trabajando en ello. El nuevo álbum ha sido descrito como un "concepto" , ¿cuál es la historia detrás del álbum?, Todo lo que puedo decir por el momento es que es historia muy retorcida pero ciertamente ocurrido muchas veces en la vida real. Especialmente cuando perdemos el control de la realidad, de nuestra vida o nuestro destino ... eso es todo lo que diré ahora.

 

Darkzen : Skeptical Minds han tocado en el Female Voices Metal Fest en Bélgica, ¿cómo ha sido toda la experiencia , que nos cuentas?

 

Karo : Hemos tocado allí muchas veces ya, y este año también estamos confirmado ! Es un gran placer para nosotros saber que los promotores y los fans les gusta lo que hacemos! Cada vez que la experiencia es simplemente mágico! Tantas emociones que pasa a través de su cuerpo y la mente ... y tu sientes que has compartido con el público. Te dan su apoyo y de vuelta y realmente aprecio eso! Creo que todas las bandas que tratan de ese festival tienen la misma sensación. Es igual que sus sueños se hacen realidad. Excelente sentimientos y experiencias.

 

Darkzen : Cuando podrán venir a América Latina ?

 

Karo : Cuando se nos invite. Ya sabes, como banda, queremos ir a tocar en todas partes y en todos los lugares donde los fans quieren vernos. Tenemos gran cantidad de amigos y fans de México, Brasil, Uruguay, Chile que escriben y apoyan nosotros regularmente. El problema es que necesitamos promotores locales para invitarnos y encontrar bastantes fechas para cubrir los costos. Estos viajes son para nosotros muy caros... Si nadie ayuda (etiqueta, promotores, estados,...), es imposible de hacerlo, por nosotros mismos. Tenemos gente que nos ayuda a planear y esperamos llegar a ese punto pronto! tocamos con regularidad fuera de nuestro país , pero sólo en Europa . Es difícil salir debido a los costos. Pero trabajamos en él. Cada año, hacemos nuevos planes. Esperemos que los próximos años nos harán conocer gente de América latina! No vamos a renunciar! Otros lo hicieron antes que nosotros, entonces nosotros también podemos hacerlo. ¿Por qué no?

 

Darkzen : Las últimas palabras son todas tuyas mi amiga! para nuestros lectores!

 

Karo : Esto es Esparta!!!! Manténgase atentos mis amigos y NUNCA jamás se rindan en sus sueños buenos. Una regla: nunca dañar a otros para alcanzar su meta, ser correcto con los demás. Es demasiado fácil despreciar a otros para seguir adelante... pero creo que eso te lleva pronto de regreso tarde o temprano.
