This time I have the opportunity to bring you this interview! with a band and with a great story! a little of his biography, originating from Canada, with a music style of  Progressive / Melodic Death Metal.

 

One of the most acclaimed bands in metal and undoubtedly one of its hardest-working, INTO ETERNITY borrows from all aspects of heavy music to form the perfect blend of technicality, memorable songwriting, traditional heavy metal and the sheer savagery of metal's extreme genres.

 

Founded in Regina, Sasketchewan by guitarist Tim Roth in the late '90s, INTO ETERNITY seamlessly melds the seemingly disparate worlds of extreme metal, hooky hard rock and challenging progressive music. Metal fans around the globe have hailed the technical prowess displayed on such critically acclaimed albums as Dead or Dreaming, Buried In Oblivion and The Scattering of Ashes, as well as the virtuosity displayed during their tours with the likes of Megadeth, Dream Theater, Lamb of God, Opeth, Symphony X and Iced Earth.

 

 

Hi! Guys! Thank you very much for your time in this interview!

 

How are you? Tell us that you have caught the band in all this time?

 

IE:

 

Thanks for the welcome back! We've just been busy with our life in general, but the band actually never did stop. We still have our rehearsals, songwriting sessions and live gigs to keep us busy. It's nice to finally have this new album released on October 26, 2018.

 

I really like your new album The Sirens; it's very complex musically, especially because of the combination of musical technique and the combination of slightly clean and guttural voices!  The review was interesting, was the production difficult for this album?

 

IE:

 

Thank you for the nice words. I'm really pleased that do enjoy our new CD! There is a lot of music going on with these new songs and you're correct, there are a ton of clean and death vocals. The Production was handled by our buddy Justin Bender, who also used to play guitar in our band for years. There are so many riffs, solos and vocals on The Sirens, so I do imagine Justin had his hands full with this recording.

 

How were the lyrics of the album composed? Where did the inspiration or creation come from to make each track of the album?

 

IE:

 

The lyrics for the song The Sirens were written mostly by our Bass player Troy. Our former singer Stu Block even wrote the first verse lyrics in the song Nowhere Near. For the lion’s share of the lyrics, I contributed most of the rest of them. Topics deal with world events, the human body and fantasy topics. Just living life everyday is enough of any inspiration for us! I remember watching the news channel CNN all the time and that inspired the song Fukushima and the song Sandstorm. I'm a big fan of bodybuilding competitions like the Mr. Olympia and the Arnold. From always researching the sport and reading my magazines/websites, I kept seeing the word Sarcopenia. It's the natural loss of muscle mass as human’s age. The song Devoured By Sarcopenia was born from that.

 

Your album is not continuous; did you have difficulty combining the sounds of Death, Progressive and Acoustic?

 

IE:

 

It was not difficult to combine death, progressive and acoustic elements into our music because that's exactly what we have done for the past 22 years. That is exactly our particular sound and the way we always write our songs. We have always been a "hybrid" metal act, combining the best elements of not only heavy metal, but also this album features piano, acoustic guitar and symphony parts. 

 

The song of "Fringes Of Psychosis" presents solos of the ex guitarist of Megadeth Glenn Drover, solos from Jasun Tipton and also vocal performances from Chuck Labossiere, Stu Block and Rob Doherty. How about the experience of working with them?

 

IE:

 

This was the first album that we had guest appearances from musicians that we know and love. We are so blessed that all of these great musicians would lend their talents to this new record. Glen just crushed on his two solos on the song Fringes of Psychosis and that song also features Chuck’s brutal low death vocals. Jasun rips a few solos on This Frozen Hell. Stu and Rob are on the songs Sandstorm and Fukushima. Rob has since passed away, so this makes everything that he recorded, even more special to us. The song is entitled, The Scattering of Ashes and was written/dedicated to Rob Doherty's memory.

To Amanda:

 

What vocal range do you have? For the album and sounds found, you handled the nuances very well with your voice. Did you have difficulties in some songs?

 

Amanda:

 

All the songs were a challenge! This band is beyond intense, so I had to step up my game and work hard! The guys helped me, which made it much easier. I just know that when I sing these songs, it makes me feel so good and it makes me so happy.

 

Honestly, I don't know my vocal range lol, I probably should. I am working my ass off on vocal health to earn more control and range.

To Amanda:

 

What musical influences do you have? Something darker or more brutal?

 

Amanda:

 

I love all music and get inspiration from everyone! There's so much talent in this world. I used to practice to Nightwish Once album with Tarja singing. I love Pink Floyd and Opeth...all genres. Good music is good music. Music is art and I love it.

 

To Amanda:

 

What does mean this new album The Sirens for you? Is it a new beginning or a comeback?

 

Amanda:

 

It's a fantasy come true is what it is to me. It's an honour to be apart of this album. I am so proud of it and as a fan of Into Eternity for so long. I feel like I'm Dead or Dreaming! It's just me moving forward and growing as an artist. Working with different people making more music.

 

On Guitars my congratulations to all of you What is more difficult technically speaking with Death Metal or Progressive style?

 

IE:

 

Thank you for the guitar support! Both styles of guitar are equally as important to our sound. It takes years of practice to get the death metal chops up to speed and the progressive parts can be tricky as well. I just love having off time parts combined with the double bass and aggression of the death metal progressions. It's always been a goal of our to combine the genres.

 

What does mean the cover art of your new álbum?

 

IE:

 

Mattias Noren did our latest Cover and he nailed it like usual. He has done all 6 of our albums, plus the two Singles of ours for Fukushima and Sandstorm. It's important for us to continue with that continuity and keep the same artist. On this Cover, our singer Amanda is featured and she is the Captain of the ship pictured and the Sirens are trying to seduce her.

 

There will be a new video of some song from The Sirens?

 

IE:

 

So far we have done one for Fringes of Psychosis, but there are other videos planned in the near future. I would personally love to have a video for every track on this record, but I'm not so sure we have the budget for that.

 

What can fans expect from Into Eternity in this 2018 or the next year?

 

IE:

 

On October 26 2018 The Sirens will be released finally through M-Theory Audio and we are so pumped for the fans to hear it. We'll be playing some gigs in support of the new record as well. We'll be releasing lyric videos and instrument playthroughs in the upcoming months as well.

Esta vez tengo la oportunidad de traerte esta entrevista! con una banda y con una gran historia! un poco de su biografía, originaria de Canadá, con un estilo musical de Death Metal progresivo / melódico.

Una de las bandas más aclamadas en el metal y sin duda una de sus más trabajadoras, INTO ETERNITY se inspira en todos los aspectos de la música pesada para formar la combinación perfecta de técnica, memorable composición, heavy metal tradicional y el puro salvajismo de los géneros extremos del metal.

¿Cómo están? ¿Dinos que ha atrapado a la banda en todo este tiempo?

 

IE:

 

¡Gracias por la recibida! Hemos estado ocupados con nuestra vida en general, pero la banda nunca se detuvo. Todavía tenemos nuestros ensayos, sesiones de composición de canciones y conciertos en vivo para mantenernos ocupados. Es bueno tener finalmente este nuevo álbum lanzado el 26 de octubre de 2018.

 

Me gustó mucho su nuevo álbum The Sirens; Musicalmente es muy complejo, especialmente por la combinación de la técnica musical y la combinación de voces ligeramente limpias y guturales. La reseña fue interesante, ¿fue la producción difícil para este álbum?

 

IE:

 

Gracias por las lindas palabras. Estoy muy contento de que disfruten nuestro nuevo CD! Hay mucha música con estas nuevas canciones y tienes razón, hay un montón de voces limpias y de death. La producción estuvo a cargo de nuestro amigo Justin Bender, quien también solía tocar la guitarra en nuestra banda durante años. Hay tantos riffs, solos y voces en The Sirens, así que me imagino que Justin tuvo sus manos llenas con esta grabación.

 

¿Cómo fueron compuestas las letras del álbum? ¿De dónde vino la inspiración o la creación para hacer cada canción del álbum?

 

IE:

 

Las letras de la canción The Sirens fueron escritas principalmente por nuestro bajista Troy. Nuestro ex cantante Stu Block incluso escribió las letras de los primeros versos de la canción Nowhere Near. Para la mayor parte de las letras, contribuí con la mayoría del resto de ellas. Los temas tratan sobre los acontecimientos mundiales, el cuerpo humano y los temas de fantasía. ¡Vivir la vida todos los días es suficiente inspiración para nosotros! Recuerdo haber visto el canal de noticias CNN todo el tiempo y eso inspiró la canción Fukushima y la canción Sandstorm. Soy un gran fanático de las competiciones de culturismo como Mr. Olympia y Arnold. Siempre investigando el deporte y leyendo mis revistas / sitios web, seguí viendo la palabra Sarcopenia. Es la pérdida natural de masa muscular como la edad humana. La canción Devoured By Sarcopenia nació de eso.

 

Su álbum no es continuo; ¿Tuviste dificultad para combinar los sonidos de Death, Progresivo y Acústico?

 

IE:

 

No fue difícil combinar el Death, los elementos progresivos y acústicos en nuestra música, porque eso es exactamente lo que hemos hecho durante los últimos 22 años. Ese es exactamente nuestro sonido particular y la forma en que siempre escribimos nuestras canciones. Siempre hemos sido un "metal híbrido", combinando los mejores elementos no solo del heavy metal, sino que también este álbum incluye partes de piano, guitarra acústica y sinfonía.

 

La canción "Fringes Of Psychosis" presenta solos de la ex guitarrista de Megadeth Glenn Drover, solos de Jasun Tipton y también actuaciones vocales de Chuck Labossiere, Stu Block y Rob Doherty. ¿Qué te parece la experiencia de trabajar con ellos?

 

IE:

 

Este fue el primer álbum en el que tuvimos apariciones de músicos que conocemos y amamos. Somos tan bendecidos que todos estos grandes músicos prestarán su talento a este nuevo disco. Glen simplemente se aplastó con sus dos solos en la canción Fringes of Psychosis y esa canción también presenta la brutal voz de bajo nivel de muerte de Chuck. Jasun rompe algunos solos en este infierno congelado. Stu y Rob están en las canciones Sandstorm y Fukushima. Rob ya falleció, por lo que todo lo que grabó es aún más especial para nosotros. La canción se titula "La dispersión de las cenizas" y fue escrita / dedicada a la memoria de Rob Doherty.

Para Amanda:

¿Qué rango vocal tienes? Para el álbum y los sonidos encontrados, manejaste los matices muy bien con tu voz. ¿Tuviste dificultades en algunas canciones?

​

Amanda:

 

Todas las canciones fueron un reto! Esta banda es más que intensa, ¡así que tuve que intensificar mi juego y trabajar duro! Los chicos me ayudaron, lo que lo hizo mucho más fácil. Solo sé que cuando canto estas canciones, me hace sentir muy bien y me hace muy feliz.

 

Honestamente, no conozco mi rango vocal jajaja, probablemente debería. Estoy trabajando duro en la salud vocal para ganar más control y rango.

 

Darkzen: pues te felicito!

 

Para Amanda:

 

¿Qué influencias musicales tienes? ¿Algo más oscuro o más brutal?

 

Amanda:

 

Me encanta toda la música y me inspiro en todo el mundo! Hay mucho talento en este mundo. Solía practicar el álbum de Nightwish Once con Tarja cantando. Amo a Pink Floyd y Opeth... todos los géneros. La buena música es buena música. La música es arte y me encanta.

 

Para Amanda:

 

¿Qué significa este nuevo álbum The Sirens para ti? ¿Es un nuevo comienzo o un regreso?

 

Amanda:

 

Es una fantasía hecha realidad es lo que es para mí. Es un honor estar aparte de este álbum. Estoy muy orgullosa de ello y como fan de Into Eternity durante tanto tiempo. ¡Me siento como si estuviera muerta o soñando! Solo soy yo avanzando y creciendo como artista. Trabajando con diferentes personas haciendo más música.

En Guitarras, mis felicitaciones a todos ustedes. ¿Qué es más difícil técnicamente hablando con el estilo Death Metal o Progressive?

 

IE:

 

¡Gracias por el apoyo de guitarra! Ambos estilos de guitarra son igual de importantes para nuestro sonido. Se requieren años de práctica para que las piezas de death metal estén al día y las partes progresivas también pueden ser complicadas. Me encanta tener partes fuera de tiempo combinadas con el contrabajo y la agresión de las progresiones de death metal. Siempre ha sido un objetivo de nuestro combinar los géneros.

 

¿Qué significa la portada de su nuevo álbum?

 

IE:

 

Mattias Noren hizo nuestra última portada y la clavó como de costumbre. Él ha hecho los 6 de nuestros álbumes, más los dos Singles de los nuestros para Fukushima y Sandstorm. Es importante para nosotros continuar con esa continuidad y mantener el mismo artista. En esta portada, nuestra cantante Amanda aparece y ella es la capitana de la nave en la foto y las sirenas intentan seducirla.

 

¿Habrá un nuevo video de alguna canción de The Sirens?

 

IE:

 

Hasta ahora hemos hecho uno para Fringes of Psychosis, pero hay otros videos planeados en un futuro cercano. Personalmente me encantaría tener un video para cada pista de este disco, pero no estoy seguro de que tengamos el presupuesto para eso.

 

¿Qué pueden esperar los fanáticos de Into Eternity en este 2018 o el próximo año?

 

IE:

 

El 26 de octubre de 2018 The Sirens se lanzará finalmente a través de M-Theory Audio y estamos muy emocionados de que los fans lo escuchen. Estaremos tocando algunos conciertos en apoyo del nuevo disco también. También lanzaremos videos de letras y juegos de instrumentos en los próximos meses.
