A little biography of the band!

Metal band 100% Original with dyes Power Metal and Symphonic Metal.

Lumine Electi is a band from Cancun Mexico belonging to the new era of Mexican metal bands; the powerful combination of a talented operatic voice and brutal growls makes his compositions something out of the ordinary. Since the birth of the band in 2012, their music continues to evolve and increasing difficulty, making them one of the most promising bands of the Mexican metal scene.

Hello my friend, it is a pleasure to hear from you and share a little about your time with us. How have you been?

Hello Darkzen! I've been fine thanks.

Who is Inanna Ishtar? Is that your real name? Please introduce yourself with our readers

Hello Friends! it's a pleasure to introduce myself with you guys.

I'm Inanna Ishtar singer of a symphonic metal band 'Lumine Electi'.

My nickname it comes from two mythologies: Inanna (Sumerian)/Ishtar (Akkadian)

She was the goddess of love and war and represented the archetype of the mother goddess.

How old are you? How did you start your musical career?

I'm 25 years and my musical career started with my admission in high school.

We had to choose a extracurricular activity but me and my friends didn't like sports so we decided to join the chorus.

Actually i didn't know i had the talent of singing but my teacher and choirmaster, Rafael Sanchez found out my skills.

He started to train my voice and he gave me a solo role in different

choral ensembles.

Do you have some other work in parallel to the band?

Of course! I have a degree in graphic design and animation.

My current job is corporate designer.

Which are your musical influences, in and out metal and rock music? Why did you choose symphonic metal?

The truth is that i grew up surrounded of rock and classical music.

My father used to listen music like Carmina Burana, E.R.A, Mozart, but at the same time he liked Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbat, The Doors, Iron Buterfly and many other rockers of his time.

He was my main influence and thanks to him i took as a basis these genres.

Then i came into symphonic metal.

My main influences of symphonic metal are Nightwish and Therion.

Do you have vocal training? Which is your vocal range?

Yes, i'm a soprano. My vocal range is from E3 to D5.

Tell us a little of the band 'Lumine Electi'. What is the main thematic at composing songs?

The concepts of our compositions are many! there isn't any specific topic.

We boarded ideas from our connection with the universal laws like the life and the inevitability of the death.

Tell us a little of your album 'The Count of Days' How was the production and what is the main thematic?

Since i joined the band, Bodhisattva started with the composition of the álbum 'Shadows and Dust' and then we proceeded to mount each of the songs.

After we started to perform in different forums and mature as a band, we decided to go the studio and start the recording of the 8 songs of the álbum.

Our main theme is the reactions of human being to the inevitability of death and the need to transcend this earthly plane.

How did you join to the band? What is the approach of the band within the national metal?

A friend of mine recommended me with the former bassist of the band, Toledo and he contacted me for an audition. His first singer had left the band recently.

It's curious, because they told me that they had been very disappointed with the previous auditions and they didn't expect much from the next ones.

Fortunately, they liked my voice and my way of singing.

Also i can tell that Bodhisattva started writing 'The Count of Days' after he heard me singing for the first time.

We are a band that doesn't have fear of breaking the rules, we follow our hearts and don't have limits of the parameters of a specific metal stream.

The most important thing for the band is to tell stories and be faithful to the idea of each one.

Will there be a tour in the center of the country soon?

We have the intentions and attitude for a tour in the center of the country and in foreign parts, but unfortunately we have not had opportunity.

Do you write the lyrics of the songs? who writes them?

Unfortunately i don't have the ease of writing songs.

The official writer of the songs is Bodhisattva, besides of being our main guitarist.

Will there be a new video?

Yes of course! currently we are planning the video, but i can give you an advance.

The main Theme of the video it will be egyptian.

What are the surprises of Inanna in this year 2016?

Well, this year has been full of good news and surprises like the releasing of our new album 'Shadows and dust'.

Also we are about to open the show of Leo Jiménez at Merida Yucatan.

Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?

Un poco de la biografía de la banda!

Banda de Metal 100% original con tintes de Power Metal y Symphonic Metal.

Lumine Electi es una banda originaria de Cancún México perteneciente a la nueva era de bandas de metal mexicanas; la poderosa combinación de una talentosa voz operática y growls brutales hace de sus composiciones algo fuera de lo ordinario. Desde el nacimiento de la banda en el 2012, su música continúa evolucionando y aumentando de dificultad, convirtiéndolos en una de las bandas más promisorias de la escena metalera Mexicana.

¿Cómo has estado?

¡Hola Darkzen! Muy bien, gracias; sobre todo muy contenta y agradecida por esta entrevista.

¿Quién es realmente Inanna Ishtar, es tu sobre nombre? ¡Preséntate con todos tus lectores!

Hola amigos, es un gusto presentarme ante ustedes. Soy Inanna Ishtar; vocalista de la banda de Metal Sinfónico, Lumine Electi.
Mi sobre nombre proviene de dos mitologías: Inanna (Sumeria) /Ishtar (Acadia).
Ella era la Diosa del amor y de la guerra y representaba el arquetipo de la Diosa madre.

¿Cómo te iniciaste en esta carrera musical, que edad tienes?

Tengo 25 años.

Mi carrera musical comenzó en mi ingreso a la preparatoria, cuando me vi en la necesidad de elegir un para escolar. Como ni a mí, ni a ninguna de mis amigas nos gustaba hacer deporte (risas) decidimos inscribirnos al coro. La verdad es que yo no sabía que tenía el talento del canto, pero mi profesor y director del coro, el Mtro. Rafael Sánchez descubrió mis habilidades y comenzó a educar mi voz dándome el papel de solista junto a otros compañeros en distintos ensambles corales sacros y operísticos.

¿Tienes algún otro trabajo en paralelo a la banda?

¡Claro! Soy Lic. En Diseño Gráfico y Animación y ejerzo mi profesión como Diseñadora corporativa.

¿Cuáles son tus influencias musicales dentro y fuera del Metal/Rock? Y porque escogiste el Metal Sinfonico?

La verdad es que crecí en un ambiente rodeado de rock y música clásica. Mi padre escuchaba anteriormente mucho la obra de Carmina Burana, E.R.A, Mozart, (entre otros); pero a la vez también escuchaba a Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbat, The Doors, Iron Buterfly y demás rockeros de su época. Él fue quien influenció mi inclinación hacia estos dos géneros musicales como base para que yo tomara el camino del Metal Sinfónico.

Mis influencias en cuanto a metal Sinfónico son principalmente Nightwish y Therion.

¿Tienes entrenamiento vocal, si es así cuál es tu rango vocal?

Sí, soy Soprano. Mi rango vocal es de un E3 a un D5.

¿Cuéntanos de la banda Lumine Electi, cual es la temática principal que manejan al componer sus canciones?

Los conceptos de donde se desprenden nuestras composiciones son variados, no hay un tema en específico. Sin embargo abordamos ideas que provienen de nuestra conexión con las leyes universales, como la vida y la inevitabilidad de la muerte.

¿Cuéntanos de su álbum ‘The Count of Days’ como fue la producción y cuál es el tema principal del álbum?

A partir de mi ingreso a Lumine Electi, Bodhisattva comenzó con la composición del material de este álbum, Shadows and Dust. Se procedió al montaje  de cada una de las canciones. Después de presentarnos en diferentes foros y de madurar como banda, decidimos entrar al estudio para darle paso a la grabación de las 8 canciones que conforman el disco, cuyo tema principal es sobre la respuesta como seres humanos que tenemos ante la inevitabilidad de la muerte y la necesidad de trascender mas allá de este plano terrenal.

¿Cómo llegaste a la banda y que propuesta nos da la banda con su álbum y dentro de la escena del Metal Nacional?

Una amiga me recomendó con el primer bajista de la banda, Toledo; quien me contactó para realizar una audición ya que su primera vocalista había dejado la banda. Es curioso, ahora me comentan que ellos ya se encontraban hartos de buscar a vocalistas y de las audiciones fallidas, y que no esperaban mucho de la próxima persona que fuera a audicionar. Afortunadamente se abrieron a una nueva posibil y les gustó mi voz y mi manera de cantar. Si podría agregar algo más a esta respuesta podría contarles que Bodhisattva comenzó a escribir The Count of Days a partir de haberme escuchado por primera vez.
 

Somos una banda que no teme el romper las reglas, seguimos nuestro corazón y no nos limitan los parámetros de una corriente de metal en específico, esto es evidente en el sonido de este álbum, donde para la banda lo más importante es contar las historias, siendo fieles a la idea o inspiración de donde provienen cada una.

¿Habrá algún tour en el centro del país próximamente?

Nosotros tenemos toda la actitud y la disposición para realizar tours en el centro del país y en el extranjero, pero desafortunadamente aún no se nos han presentado esas oportunidades.

¿Escribes algunas canciones o quien las escribe?

Desafortunadamente no tengo la facilidad para escribir canciones. El escritor de la música de la banda es Bodhisattva, quien también funge como guitarrista principal.

¿Algún próximo video? Si es así, un adelanto!!

Si, por el momento nos encontramos en el proceso de planeación; lo único que puedo adelantar por el momento es que la temática del mismo será egipcia.
 

¿Cuáles son las sorpresas de Inanna en este 2016?

¡Pues este año nos ha traído muy buenas noticias y sorpresas, como la salida de nuestro segundo álbum Shadows and Dust y la más reciente es que próximamente abriremos el concierto de Leo Jiménez en la blanca Mérida Yucatán!
