Formed late 2015, Cobra Cult from Stockholm, Sweden delivers rock´n´rollish metalpunk like no one else. Sounding like the perfect blend of Motörhead, L7 and The Misfits, Cobra Cult have made them selves quite a reputation as a great live band with intense shows. The first two song teaser came in 2016 and then in 2017 followed the first collaboration with legend Tomas Skogsberg at Sunligt studio with the recordings of the 4-track EP ”The Sunlight Tapes”. As a result of that release, people started to take notice of the band and the EP took the band all the way to the Bremer Metal Festival in Germany. The release of the debut album ”Cobra Cult” in late 2018, saw the band entering another level with great reviews and bookings for Sweden Rock Festival and the first ever UK tour. Cobra Cult are; Johanna Lindhult (vocals/guitar), Thomas Jonsson (bass/backing vocals), Carl Johan ”Sillen” Sillén (drums), Anders Martinsgård (guitar).

No Friend Of Mine

An explosive entrance, Heavy - Heavy Rock, with a thunderous rough and heavy sound! Rhythmic and aggressive, Johanna's voice gives an even tougher touch! Excellent to turn on what comes next!

Let Your Hair Down

I love the speed in the rhythm of this song, the drums put the way and the guitars give it strength and rudeness, that pause with that guitar solo in the style of Rock and roll! Sound overwhelming this song!

Red Flag

A blunt and dense drum start, we lowered a little in strength and speed with Red Flag, but without losing that characteristic sound from the beginning of the album, melodic and with greater presence of Johanna's strong voice!

In The Zone (Again)

We return to the musical explosiveness! I hear more Hard Rock?? So is! Those guitars wow! They give him that powerful rudeness, Johanna's voice is more loose, melodic and with greater contrast to the instruments that accompany it.

Lord of Nothing

Entrance with a very own style of the band! This is Hard Rock! I like the strength with which music begins to make presence, drums and guitars very well combined, dense and those alone suddenly give a perfect touch!

Bring In The Clown

Entrance with the guide of an overwhelming guitar and from there all the other instruments accompanying along with Johanna's voice, a song with changes in rhythm, hard and melodic.

The First Stone

I love that strong, fast and aggressive entry that this song has! A brutal speed at times, manages well the entry times in each performance and the presence of guitar solos.

We Are Cobra Cult

And closing heavily with a slower, harder and rougher sound, Johanna's voice without losing at some point throughout the album her vocal range that makes good combination with this sound loaded with a hard Hard Rock! And suddenly a speed with guitar solos in the final part to give it a deadly touch of Rock!

My Recomendation

The album is loaded with a hard Hard Rock, with the style and hallmark of Cobra Cult band, at times full of Rock & Roll or a Rock n'rollish with a dose and good combinations of Metal Punk, but above all that lovely Hard Rock ! It invades your ears and hits you hard with the style of a Deadly Cobra! The sound is rough, dense, heavy and strong! At no time does his style decline, it is a complete album in the musical context, perhaps in some tracks the strength and speed drops a little, in some tracks he has some distinctive guitar solos and in some there is more musical time than Johanna's voice, good handling of tempos, a continuous album and both in lyric and in each track it shows, each musical track being independent has a different seal, Hard Rock with very solid chords.

If you are a fan of Hard Rock or Rock & Roll, Cobra Cult is perfect for you, at times it reminds me of the powerful Motörhead! With that distinctive guitar touch of Lemmy Kilmister and in the hands of Johanna! Which is a pretty strong seal, the guitar and bass handling give it a lot of presence.

The Voice

Johanna's voice is perfect for her musical style, strong and strong range and that makes it merge with the sounds they show us, at times a bit more melodic and rhythmic, but throughout the album remains firm and constant.

Formado a finales de 2015, Cobra Cult de Estocolmo, Suecia, ofrece rock'n´rollish metalpunk como nadie más. Sonando como la combinación perfecta de Motörhead, L7 y The Misfits, Cobra Cult se han hecho una gran reputación como una gran banda en vivo con shows intensos. El primer teaser de dos canciones llegó en 2016 y luego en 2017 siguió a la primera colaboración con la leyenda Tomas Skogsberg en el estudio Sunligt con las grabaciones del EP de 4 pistas "The Sunlight Tapes". Como resultado de ese lanzamiento, la gente comenzó a darse cuenta de la banda y el EP la llevó hasta el Bremer Metal Festival en Alemania. El lanzamiento del álbum debut "Cobra Cult" a finales de 2018, vio a la banda entrar a otro nivel con excelentes críticas y reservas para el Festival de Rock de Suecia y la primera gira por el Reino Unido. Una entrada explosiva, Heavy – Rock pesado, con un estruendoso sonido áspero y pesado! Rítmico y agresivo, la voz de Johanna le da un toque aún más rudo! Excelente para encender lo que viene a continuación!

Let Your Hair Down

Me encanta la velocidad en el ritmo de esta canción, la batería pone el camino y las guitarras le dan la fuerza y rudeza, esa pausa con ese solo de guitarra al puro estilo de Rock and roll! Apabullante en sonido esta canción!

Red Flag

Un comienzo de batería contundente y densa, bajamos un poco en fuerza y velocidad con Red Flag, pero sin perder ese sonido característico desde el inicio del albúm, melódica y con mayor presencia de la fuerte voz de Johanna!

Volvemos a la explosividad musical! Escucho más Hard Rock?? Así es! Esas guitarras wow! Le dan esa rudeza potente, la voz de Johanna más suelta, melódica y con mayor contraste ante los instrumentos que acompañan.

Lord Of Nothing

Entrada con un estilo muy propio de la banda! Esto es Hard Rock! Me agrada la fuerza con la que la música comienza hacer presencia, batería y guitarras muy bien combinadas, densas y esos solos de repente le dan un toque perfecto!

Bring In The Clown

Entrada con la guía de una guitarra apabullante y de ahí todos los demás instrumentos acompañando junto a la voz de Johanna, una canción con cambios en ritmo, dura y melódica.

The First Stone

Me encanta esa entrada fuerte, rápida y agresiva que tiene esta canción! Un speed por momentos brutal, maneja bien los tiempos de entrada en cada ejecución y la presencia de solos de guitarra.

We Are Cobra Cult

Y cerrando pesadamente con un sonido más lento, duro y rudo, la voz de Johanna sin perder en algún momento de todo el albúm su alcance vocal que hace buena combinación con este sonido cargado con un Hard Rock duro! Y de repente un speed con solos de guitarra en la parte final para darle un toque mortal de Rock!

Mi Recomendación

El albúm está cargado de un Hard Rock duro, con el estilo y sello distintivo de Cobra Cult band, por momentos lleno de Rock & Roll o un Rock n ́rollish con una dosis y buenas combinaciones de Metal Punk, pero sobre todo ese encantador Hard Rock! Te invade tus oídos y te pega duro con estilo de una Cobra Mortífera! El sonido es áspero, denso, pesado y fuerte! En ningún momento decae su estilo, es un albúm completo en el contexto musical, quizás en algunas pistas baja un poco la fuerza y velocidad, en algunas pistas tiene unos solos de guitarras distintivos y en algunas hay más tiempo musical que la voz de Johanna, buen manejo de tempos, un albúm continúo y tanto en lirica como en cada pista se nota, cada pista musical siendo independiente tiene un sello distinto, Hard Rock con acordes muy sólido.

Si eres fan del Hard Rock o Rock & Roll, Cobra Cult es perfecto para ti, por momentos me recuerda al poderoso Motörhead! Con ese distintivo toque de guitarra de Lemmy Kilmister y en manos de Johanna! El cual es un sello bastante fuerte, el manejo de guitarras y bajo le dan mucha presencia.

La Voz

La voz de Johanna es perfecta para su estilo musical que maneja, rango grave y fuerte y eso hace que se fusione con los sonidos que nos muestran, por momentos un poco más melódica y rítmica, pero en todo el albúm se mantiene firme y constante.
