After the success of last year's debut longplayer "Chronicles Of Decay", the extreme metallers of Soul Grinder from Bremen follow up with "Lifeless Obsession", a 5-track EP that is quite something.

As with the predecessor, there is the finest death metal, from blast speed attacks to groovy steamrolls and mystical hymns. Without straying too far from the core of brutal death metal, the band offers an enormous range and a varied and entertaining listening experience.

On the self-recorded and self-produced EP, the band again features a guest appearance by Nachtgarm (Negator) on "Night's Bane (Nyktophobia)". Lifeless Obsession offers 5 hard-hitting tracks to bridge the waiting time until the next album!

We started with a powerful double bass drum sound, powerful drums, synchronous chords, rhythm changes and dense passages of those harrowing chords, heartbreaking and bestial voices! Get ready for a rain of aggressive power.

Mercyful Fate

​

A weak and sharp background chord starts, but then a heavy and dense sonorous style with melody and rhythm joins that is followed in a single scale stroke throughout the track, although with a change of speed later on, like Thrash Metal of good shape.

Terradeformer

​

A bit of Blackened Death Metal style, at times fast, a bit stuck and heavy and at other times rhythmic and constant, but without losing the power and darkness that characterizes this particular style.

A Worm's Repast

​

Excellent combination of styles of Death Metal, fast, fast, heavy, on the same vocal and musical scale, strong and powerful, Brutal, Death and Blackened Death in their proper portions, a short and discreet riff!

Lifeless Obsession

​

A totally acoustic start, then the characteristic power of the band, drums, chords and dense within a single line, and without leaving the acoustic guitar introduction a bit to give more drama to the final track and another short riff that they leave us of this good EP!

My Recomendation

​

A very versatile EP with many influences within Death Metal, a solid musical body well demonstrated with those dense chords, within a given scale and musical range and with a dark atmosphere, at times the drums attack us a bit, at other times it is more constant, but without ceasing to surprise us, there are some brief riffs that we can also hear in some tracks, the scale is serious and heavy and that gives the register of the singer Mathias Junge an excellent presence, they give us double voices at times, with heartbreaking screams and guttural, with the musical influences there are varied as I said, old school Death, Brutal Death, Blackened Death Metal. And the acoustic parts, which is reused in some musical parts as in the final part of the EP, we have a powerful, versatile, dark, gloomy and heavy EP! With varied Death Metal styles! Let it blow you up like a storm!

Después del éxito del debut del año pasado "Chronicles Of Decay", los metaleros extremos de Soul Grinder de Bremen continúan con "Lifeless Obsession", un EP de 5 pistas que es bastante.

Al igual que con el predecesor, existe el mejor death metal, desde ataques rápidos hasta rampas de velocidad e himnos místicos. Sin alejarse demasiado del núcleo del brutal death metal, la banda ofrece un rango enorme y una experiencia auditiva variada y entretenida.

​

En el EP autograbado y autoproducido, la banda vuelve a contar con una aparición especial de Nachtgarm (Negator) en "Night's Bane (Nyktophobia)". ¡Lifeless Obsession ofrece 5 pistas contundentes para salvar el tiempo de espera hasta el próximo álbum!

Iniciamos con un sonido potente de doble bombo, batería potente, acordes sincrónicos, cambios de ritmo y densos pasajes de esos acordes acribilladores, voces desgarradoras y bestiales! Prepárate para una lluvia de potencia agresiva.

Mercyful Fate

​

Un acorde de fondo débil y agudo inicia, pero después se une un sonoro estilo pesado y denso con melodía y ritmo que se sigue en un solo trazo de escala en toda la pista, aunque con un cambio de velocidad más adelante tipo Thrash Metal de buena forma.

Un poco de estilo a Blackened Death Metal, por momentos veloz, un poco atascado y pesado y otras veces rítmico y constante, pero sin perder la potencia y la oscuridad de caracteriza a este estilo en particular

Excelente combinación de estilos de Death Metal, veloz, rápido, pesado, en la misma escala vocal y musical, fuerte y potente, Brutal, Death y Blackened Death en sus debidas porciones, un riff breve y discreto!

Lifeless Obsession

​

Un inicio acústico totalmente, después la potencia característica de la banda, batería, acordes y densos dentro de una sola línea, y sin dejar un poco la introducción acústica de guitarra para darle más drama a la pista final y otro breve riff que nos dejan ellos de este buen EP!

​

Mi Recomendación

​

Un EP muy versátil con bastantes influencias dentro del Death Metal, un sólido cuerpo musical bien demostrado con esos acordes densos, dentro de una escala y rango musical dado y con una atmosfera oscura, por momentos nos ataca un poco la batería, en otros instantes es más constante, pero sin dejar de sorprendernos, hay unos breves riffs también que podemos escuchar en algunas pistas, la escala es grave y pesada y eso le da al registro del cantante Mathias Junge  excelente presencia, nos dan voces dobles a veces, con gritos desgarradores y guturales, con las influencias musicales hay variadas como dije, Death a la vieja escuela, Brutal Death, Blackened Death Metal. Y las partes acústicas, que se vuelve a utilizar en algunas partes musicales como en la parte final del EP, tenemos una EP potente, versátil, oscuro, lúgubre y pesado! Con estilos de Death Metal variados! Que te estallara como una tormenta!
