Review!

 

Greetings! My dear Followers! Here I give you my review on the new album from our friends in Italy the touchline Deva!

 

Here is a little history of the group!

 

The Deva project begins in 2003, when guitarist Federico Salerno met bassist Myriam Stallone. They began working on compositions , Deva also included a male singer and a drummer . Then I joined the Beatrice band that seemed to be necessary to reach a strong lineup : Male singer left the band and in 2004 , we found our keyboardist Marco Castiglione . But we had to wait until 2007 to have Thomas D' Alba on drums. Meanwhile , we spend time and energy in the compositions , arrangements and pre - productions which have become our debut album " between life and dreams ." After mixing of songs (it was November 2009), matching RNC Music Myspace. them they liked the voice of Beatrice , his voice and they asked them the entire album and soon had a record deal and a management contract with this tag ( Orion Belt / RNC Music) founded by Nico Spinosa , who spent over 20 years at EMI and Ros Manica who spent his life underground bands !

Now a bit of history of the disk, Federico Salerno says that this album is about a woman named Elizabeth, who was inspired by the Goddess Lilith, who killed her baby. Elizabeth knows that she will be saved by the goddess, but is persecuted, imprisoned and sentenced to death at the stake. Let's look at the review!

Can I be saved

What input as energy! Heavier guitars and a strong, quick and algid battery, Beatrice's voice gives it a strong emotion to song dynamics, tessitura of the voice is iconic, clear song, rhythm and chords times, excellent input!

Duo harmonic voice, the voice of Beatrice keeps the same rhythm and tone follow the rhythmic song, the song is quieter and lighter, guitars and solos are good sequences between the spaces of the voice, the song maintains its strength has good background, Beatrice's voice is heard clearly without the male voice or overshadow the instruments.

Unexpected input! Really different, with a sublime acoustic guitar, piano and drum light touch , natural background excellent ! An atmospheric song with a short pause, gives nice touch !

 

Delirium

Excellent ! Song ! Check powerful ! Explosive guitars with a strong battery, Beatrice's voice is more operatic shows more sharpness to the beat of the song, background sequences with sublime vocals , one thing I notice is that the time to voice Beatrice is shorter, the length of the music , but has good musical scale , something abrupt end but with a whisper voice asking for more !

 

Decadence

The union of voices is sublime, the more acoustic track, similar to the third track, environmental and gives us the emotional combination of both voices , a melancholy song as time increases guitars are present , strong to beat, melancholic solos and gray the beautiful voice of Beatrice keeps her tone and tessitura and is changing ! Final sublime!

 

What i have i Become

I like this entry majestic violin ! The combination of symphonic elements is sublime, the beautiful voice of Beatrice maintains the tone and atmosphere of the entire album, a ballad is what I feel in this track with the male voice accompanying guitar solos present time voice reaches with the song , good ending !

 

 

Suddenly Awareness *

A sublime, slow and mitigating input, dense guitars, other more atmospheric track that marks the prelude pause that keeps us attached to the emotion that gives us the theme of the album!

 

Lady of Time

A heavy and powerful input, slightly higher than the previous ones, the voice of our Beatrice does not change maintains the same intensity! The technique is very noticeable instruments , gives more background to the song and body, a dark and heavy song! Like to hear what sound overwhelming!

 

My Sweetest pain

Another more thematic track with voice and regulated time , the duo is measured, but the female voice is still significant , nice piano sequences , changing emotion and sound is very divergent between this and the previous song , the lyric goes transmitted hand with excitement! unexpected end

 

Something beautiful *

Acoustic input accompanied by a sublime flute , another atmospheric track , with a short pause with natural sounds great preamble to Confession !

 

Confession

Regular rhythmic sound with good acoustic input with a continuous harmony guitars, Beatrice 's voice accompanied by the voice of Federico, sound like some previous tracks, handling instruments with long sound overwhelming ! Great management and evolution of the characteristic sound Deva!

 

Remembrance *

Entry piano, and time adulante Largo, another atmospheric track really melancholic and beautiful! Very melodic.

 

Lullaby

A sublime Symphony entrance, here we can find and feel the emotion of the song , the voice of Beatrice shown with more body, feel is achieved , scale handling becomes more noticeable to the accompanying sound, clear sign of vocal ability ! A narrative song , the time of the song and her voice while in the end and in the.

 

Dust and Shadows

Good opening chorus, and heavy guitars present sound, melodic and forceful compound , give spaces between the voice and the song , near the end the speed changes more musical presence , the voice in the context of both harmony vocals, free melodic and fine , except that it has more presence , I like the end with a burning flame ! Lilith

Perfect combination on vocals coupled to the beat of the song, the same speed and force between the guitars, drums and vocals, relaxed emotion sounds similar to the previous tracks, mystery and heaviness in the song, the voices are in unison , speed the song with a lower end acoustic with natural background of a storm and vocals that give it a mystery.

Rating : 9.5/10

 

Really the whole album has enough musical complexity unlike their last album , this one has more body, greater mastery of instruments , voice tone and maintained a steady pace , not low intensity , if it manages to convey what they want us to provide , but remains somewhat limited , in terms of speed at the beginning of the entrance drive is strong, heavy and fast , and to keep the intensity begins to drop , holding the strong presence but a bit low intensity , atmospheric songs are good breaks between tracks, it is a continuous disk with a beginning and end, what note is that in some tracks the song is more durable than the time voice of Beatrice , the songs are dark , the tessitura of her voice it is melodic , with good sharp clear which is present throughout the album .

 

 

It has excellent combinations of opera, classic gothic metal music and of course progressive metal, although I notice a small, certain inclination towards a clear symphonic progressive metal with a solid base, and this makes a difference to the Pure Progressive Metal bands like Dream Theater in the lyric is the theme perfect, it goes along with what we want to prove !

 

 

In this 2014 released their second album called ' Murther ' after all these years , after hearing these fifteen new compositions in a time of almost 63 minutes Deva 's music is more present ! It really has a great musical art have evolved , her voice like me , is consistent with a sharp as I said earlier, powerful emotion with which he sings is notorious and is perfect , but you can give more feeling yet! Excellent Soprano! Baroque violin , piano and vocals really sublime , the album sounds mature with a variety between tracks musically, without technique, voice or lose rhythm , professional well recorded and produced .

 

The fifteen songs have a clear , heavy sound , with a melancholy and Crystal touch , by the voice of Beatrice which is important to note , also due to the fact that several important guest musicians on the album were present as keyboardist Davide Barbieri, drummer Federico Pavlovich , bassists and Tony Accardo Ruggero Corizia played an important role in this new album ' Murther ' .

 

Excellent musical work ! Within this Progressive / Goth genre, with many Symphony trend

 

The presentation of the album shows musical character, sad blunt, basic, simple narrative but direct

La Reseña!

 

Saludos! Mis queridos Seguidores! Aquí les entrego mi reseña respecto al nuevo disco de nuestros amigos de Italia la banda Deva!

 

Aquí un poco de su historia del grupo!

 

El proyecto Deva comienza en el 2003, cuando el guitarrista Federico Salerno conoció al bajista Myriam Stallone. Comenzaron a trabajar en composiciones, Deva también incluyó un cantante masculino y un baterista. Después me unío a la banda Beatrice, que parecía ser necesario para llegar a una fuerte alineación: el cantante masculino dejó la banda y en el 2004, nos pareció que nuestra teclista Marco Castiglione. Pero tuvimos que esperar hasta 2007 para tener Thomas D' Alba en tambores. Mientras tanto, gastamos energías y tiempo en las composiciones, arreglos y pre -producciones para lo que se han convertido en nuestro álbum debut " entre la vida y los sueños”. Después de la mezcla de las canciones (era noviembre de 2009) , se encontraron con RNC Música en Myspace. Les gustaba la voz de Beatrice, su voz  y ellos les pidieron todo el álbum y en poco tiempo tenían un contrato de grabación y un contrato de gestión con esta etiqueta ( de Orión Correa / RNC Music) fundada por Nico Spinosa , quien pasó más de 20 años en EMI y Ros Manica que pasó su vida con bandas underground !

Ahora un poco de la historia del disco, nos dice Federico Salerno que este álbum es sobre una mujer llamada Elizabeth, que está inspirada en la diosa Lilith, que mató a su bebé. Elizabeth sabe que ella va a ser salvado por la diosa, pero es perseguida, encarcelada y condenada a muerte en la hoguera. Veamos a continuación la reseña!

Can I be saved

Qué entrada tan energética! Guitarras más pesadas y una batería contundente, rápida y álgida, la voz de Beatrice le da una emoción a la canción fuerte y dinámica, la tesitura de la voz es emblemática, muy clara la canción, ritmo y tiempos acordes, excelente entrada!

 

Come to me

Dúo de voz armónica, la voz de Beatrice mantiene el mismo ritmo y tono al seguimiento rítmico de la canción, la canción es más tranquila y ligera, las guitarras y los solos son buenas secuencias entre los espacios de la voz, mantiene su fuerza la canción, tiene buen fondo, la voz de Beatrice se escucha clara, sin que la voz masculina o los instrumentos la opaquen.

 

 

Is this waht we really are*

Entrada inesperada! Realmente diferente, más sublime con  una guitarra más acústica, piano y leve toque de batería, fondo natural excelente! Una canción atmosférica y una pausa corta, le da buen toque!

 

Delirium

Excelente! Canción! Entrada potente! Guitarras explosivas junto a una batería contundente, la voz de Beatrice es más operística, muestra más agudeza al compás de la canción, secuencias de fondo con coros sublimes, una cosa que noto es que el tiempo de voz  de Beatrice es más corta, que la duración de la música, pero tiene buena escala musical, final algo abrupto pero con una susurro de voz que pide más!  

 

Decadence

La unión de voces es sublime, más acústico el track, semejante al tercer track, ambiental y nos brinda la combinación emocional de ambas voces, una canción melancólica conforme aumenta el tiempo las guitarras se hacen presentes, fuertes al compás, solos muy melancólicos y grises, la hermosa voz de Beatrice mantiene su tono y tesitura y es cambiante! Final excelso!

 

What i have i become

Me agrada esa entrada de violin majestuosa! La combinación de elementos sinfónicos es excelsa, la hermosa voz de Beatrice mantiene el tono y la atmosfera del álbum completo, una balada es lo que siento de este track con la voz masculina que acompaña, solos de guitarra presentes, el tiempo de voz alcanza con el de la canción, buen final!

 

Awareness suddenly*

Una entrada sublime, lenta y atenuante, guitarras densas, otro track mas atmosférico que marca la pausa del preludio que nos mantiene apegados a la emoción que nos brinda la temática del álbum!

 

Lady of time

Una entrada pesada y potente, un poco mayor a la de las anteriores, la voz de nuestra Beatrice no cambia mantiene la misma intensidad! La técnica con los instrumentos es muy notoria, le da más fondo a la canción y cuerpo, una canción más oscura y pesada! Agrada al escucha lo apabullante del sonido!

 

My Sweetest pain

Otro track mas temático, con voz regulada y en tiempo, el dúo es mesurado, pero la voz femenina sigue siendo notoria, secuencias de piano agradables, el cambio de emoción y sonido es muy discrepante entre la canción anterior y esta, la lírica va de la mano con la emoción trasmitida! Final inesperado

 

Something beautiful*

Entrada acústica acompañada de una flauta sublime, otro track atmosférico, con una breve pausa con sonidos naturales, gran preámbulo para Confession!

 

Confession

Sonido rítmico regular con buena entrada acústica, con una armonía entre guitarras continuas, la voz de Beatrice acompañada de las voz de Federico, sonido semejante algunos tracks anteriores, manejo de instrumentos apabullante con sonido largo! Gran manejo y evolución del Sonido Característico de Deva!

 

Remembrance*

Entrada de piano, adulante y en tiempo Largo, otro track atmosférico realmente melancólico y hermoso! Muy melódico,

 

Lullaby

Una entrada Sinfónica excelsa, aquí podemos encontrar y sentir la emoción de la canción, la voz de Beatrice se muestra con más cuerpo, se logra sentir más, la escala que maneja se hace más notoria al sonido acompañante, clara muestra de la habilidad vocal! Una canción más narrativa, el tiempo de la canción y el de la voz de ella al mismo tiempo en el final y en la extensión.

 

Dust and Shadows

Buen coro inicial, guitarras presentes y pesadas, contundencia sonora, melódico y compuesto, dan espacios entre la voz y la canción, al acercarse el final la velocidad cambia con mayor presencia musical, la voz en el contexto de ambos, armonía entre las voces, melódica y libre buena combinación, salvo que la de ella tiene más presencia, me gusta su final con una llama ardiente! La canción de mayor duración.

 

Lilith

Combinación perfecta en las voces acopladas al compás de la canción, la misma velocidad y contundencia entre las guitarras, baterías y voces, emoción más relajada, sonidos semejantes a los anteriores tracks, misterio y pesadez en la canción, las voces van al unísono, velocidad de la canción más bajo con un  final en acústico con el fondo de la natural de una tempestad y voces que le dan cierto misterio.

 

Recomendación;

 

Puntuación: 9.5/10

 

Realmente todo el disco tiene bastante complejidad musical a diferencia de su pasado álbum, este tiene más cuerpo, mayor dominio de instrumentos, la voz se mantiene con un tono y ritmo constante, no baja la intensidad, si logra trasmitir lo que nos quieren brindar, pero se mantiene un poco limitada, en cuestión de velocidad, al inicio del disco la entrada es fuerte, pesada y rápida, y al seguir empieza a bajar la intensidad, si mantiene la presencia fuerte pero en intensidad baja un poco, las canciones atmosféricas son buenas pausas entre los tracks, es un disco continuo con un inicio y final, lo que note es que en unos tracks la canción es más duradera que el tiempo en voz de Beatrice, las canciones no son oscuras, la tesitura de la voz de ella es melódica, clara con buen agudo el cual se hace presente en todo el disco.

 

Tiene excelentes combinaciones de ópera, música clásica, gótico, metal y por supuesto metal progresivo, aunque noto una pequeña y cierta inclinación hacia un metal sinfónico claro con una base progresiva sólida, y esto hace la diferencia a las bandas de Metal Progresivo Puro como Dream Theater, en la lírica es perfecta la temática, va de la mano con lo que quieren demostrar!

 

En este 2014 lanzaron su segundo álbum llamado ‘Murther’ después de estos años, después de escuchar estas quince nuevas composiciones en un tiempo de casi 63 minutos, La música de Deva está más presente! Realmente tiene una excelente técnica musical, han evolucionado más, la voz de ella me agrada, es constante con un agudo como lo dije anteriormente, poderoso, la emoción con la que canta es notoria y es perfecta, pero se puede dar más sentimiento aun! Excelente Soprano! Violín barroco, piano y coros excelsos realmente, el disco suena maduro con una variedad entre las pistas musicalmente, sin perder técnica, voz o ritmo, profesional muy bien grabado y producido.

 

Los quince canciones tienen un sonido transparente, pesado, con un toque melancólico y cristalino, por la voz de Beatrice el cual es importante destacar, también se debe al hecho de que varios importantes músicos invitados estuvieron en el álbum presentes como el  teclista Davide Barbieri, el baterista Federico Paulovich, bajistas Ruggero Accardo y Tony Corizia tuvieron un rol importante en este nuevo album ‘Murther’.

 

Excelente obra musical! Dentro de este género Progresivo/Goth, con mucha tendencia Sinfónica

 

La presentación del disco nos muestra el carácter musical, narrativa triste pero contundente, básica, simple pero directa
