Greetings! My friends! Thank you very much for being with female metal again! This weekend, I have this surprise! A great singer Margarita Monet, she gave me a few words for this interview! After a great release of her new video In a Dream!! In the American '' Revolver '' Magazine, among others.

 

Margarita is a pianist with a vast classical repertoire. She started music lessons at the age of four and quickly accelerated in a list, competitive and performance pianist.

 

He moved to Houston, attended high school for the performing and visual arts, for musical theater. After intense training he decided to continue his career further and moved to New York after being accepted into the Tisch School of the University of New York arts. At NYU he majored in theater at the Meisner study majoring in music. While he is living in New York, who has appeared in Off Broadway, shorts and independent features and sang with local bands in the clubs of the city.

 

Margarita moved to Los Angeles in 2010 after getting interest from several agencies acting in Los Angeles. A week later after arriving in Hollywood he joined a group of singing and dancing and recorded on his album Angels Of Love, after several performances he went solo and began working with producer in Los Angeles on his solo album . While working on the songs, he met Dave Bates, who was looking for a singer Soon his musical partnership created tremendous results and solidified the band that took the new name, Edge of Paradise.

Hello! ¿How are you Margarita?

 

Hi! I'm doing great, thank you very much for having me!

 

¿Who is Margarita Monet?

 

I'm the singer/songwriter of Edge Of Paradise, we formed in 2011. I'm also a classical pianist and play keyboards on our songs :)

 

¿How was your training musically and vocal?

 

I grew up in Moscow, Russia and started playing piano very young. Music schools over there are very serious, we had singing and I started performing at a very early age, so music was always my life, I danced ballet as well, so my days were full. When we moved to the US, i continued to play the piano and did a lot of concerts and competitions, and then i went on to do musical theater in high school and college. I never sang in a metal band till this one, so it was quiet different at first, but very exciting!

 

¿Which are your influences in the Rock and Metal?

 

Ronnie James Dio is one of my biggest influences, also Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Queen, Led Zeppelin. All those bands created their own sound, so that is what we're all about, creating our own sound that can withstand the test of time!

 

¿What do you like to do in your time free?

 

I don't have mush of free time lately, I always work on new music, I read, I love movies!

 

¿What are your favorite bands within and out of Metal?

 

Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Queen, i like Marilyn Manson if I'm in the mood :)

 

¿Do you write some songs in your band?

 

Yes I do, but it's always a group effort. Every song is different, sometimes i come up with it on the keyboard and Dave, our guitarist comes in and puts guitars and we arrange it and take it to the rest of the band John Chominsky and Nick Ericson to evolve the song. Sometimes it starts with Dave's riff and I write the melodies and lyrics after, and then we take it to the rest of the band, we demo it up until it's ready to be taken into the studio to record!

 

¿What goals you have in mind?

 

To conquer the world :) To keep writing music and touring, we're still a new band so we have a lot of goals, we want to play in as man parts of the world as we can, and write lots and lots of new music! We want to build our world and have everyone join us in Paradise ;)

 

¿How you joined to Edge of Paradise band?

Dave and I were hired to work on a song by a produced out here in Los Angeles. When I met Dave he was looking for a singer, he had a band called Bleed, fronted by Robin McCauley. Robin had to leave as he joined Survivor as a front man on their tour and the band kind of stopped. Dave had a lot of music left over and we had similar goals and worked great together, so I sang over the songs he had, we released it as our debut CD Mask and that's how Edge Of Paradise was born :)

 

¿How would you best describe the sound of the Edge of Paradise band in this moment?

 

Our sound is aggressive but very melodic, with driving rhythms and heavy guitars, you will hear some symphonic and classical elements, our songs are dynamic, theatrical and will take you on a roller coaster ride! I hope you're not afraid of a creepy circus cause you'll hear some of that too :)

 

Your álbum, ¿As was the production?

 

Immortal Waltz is produced by Micahel Wagener, we were extremely lucky and thrilled to work with him as he is definitely our idol! So we went to Nashville to Michael's studio and recorded there. Some of the earlier songs were also recorded with bob Kulick in Los Angeles. It was awesome to be able to work with amazing people on this álbum!

 

¿What can we expect from Margarita Monet in this 2015?

 

Lots of touring and new music. We'll try to get another music video done by the end of the year!

 

¿What style do you prefer, Heavy, Symphonic, Pop Rock, Rock or all? And Why?

 

I like all, as long as it's good! I listen to a lot of different music, I love heavy metal, classical, symphonic, pop rock, I don't think i'll ever get into hip hop, that's just not my thing, but I appreciate all styles!

 

¿Anything else you'd like to share my friend with your fans?

 

Just want to thank everyone for their support, and I can't wait to meet as many of you as possible at our shows, it's always great to share the music live with people and have them be a part of our heavy metal circus :)

Saludos! Mis amigos! Muchas gracias por estar nuevamente con female metal! Este fin de semana, les tengo esta sorpresa! Una excelente cantante Margarita Monet, me concedió unas palabras para esta entrevista! Después de un gran Lanzamiento de su nuevo video In a Dream! En la Revista Estadounidense ‘’Revolver’’, entre otras más.

 

Margarita es una pianista con un vasto repertorio clásico. Ella comenzó clases de música a la edad de cuatro años y rápidamente se aceleró en una pianista lista, competitiva y rendimiento.

 

Se Mudó a Houston, asistió a la escuela secundaria por las artes escénicas y visuales, para el teatro musical. Después de un entrenamiento intenso que decidió continuar su carrera más allá y se mudó a Nueva York después de ser aceptado en la Escuela Tisch de la Universidad de Nueva York de los artes. En NYU se especializó en Teatro en el estudio Meisner con especialización en música. 

 

Mientras vivía en Nueva York, que ha actuado en Off Broadway, cortos y largometrajes independientes y cantó con bandas locales en los clubes de la ciudad.

 

Margarita se mudó a Los Ángeles en 2010 después de conseguir el interés de varias agencias de actuación en Los Ángeles. Una semana más tarde después de llegar a Hollywood se unió a un grupo de canto y baile y grabó en su álbum Angels De Amor, después de varios espectáculos se lanzó como solista y comenzó a trabajar con el productor en Los Ángeles en su álbum en solitario. Mientras trabajaba en las canciones, conoció a Dave Bates, que estaba en busca de cantante Pronto su asociación musical a creado enormes resultados y solidificó la banda que tomó el nuevo nombre, Edge of Paradise.

Cuéntanos, como estas?

 

Estoy muy bien! Muchas gracias por invitarme!

 

Quien es Margarita Monet?

 

Soy quien escribe las canciones y canta en la banda Edge of Paradise, formada en el año 2011.

También soy pianista de música clásica y toco los teclados en nuestras canciones.

 

Como fue tu entrenamiento vocal y musical?

 

Crecí en Moscú, Rusia y empecé a tocar el piano desde muy joven. Las escuelas de música en ese lugar son cosa seria.

 

Empecé muy joven a cantar así que la música siempre ha sido mi vida. También me dedique al ballet así que mis días siempre estaban ocupados.

 

Cuando nos mudamos a Estados Unidos, continúe tocando el piano y participe en muchos concursos y conciertos. Luego comencé a participar en musicales de teatro en la escuela.

 

Nunca había cantado en una banda de metal sino hasta ahora, fue nuevo para mí al principio pero al mismo tiempo fue muy emocionante!.

 

Cuáles son tus influencias musicales? Tanto en el rock como en el metal.

 

Mi mayor influencia es Ronnie James Dio. También Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Queen y Led Zeppelin.

 

Cada una de esas bandas creo su propio sonido y eso es de lo que se trata la música! Crear tu propio sonido y lograr que perdure con el tiempo.

 

Que te gusta hacer en tu tiempo libre?

 

Últimamente no he tenido mucho tiempo libre. Siempre ando trabajando en crear nueva música. También me gusta leer y ver películas.

 

Cuáles son tus bandas favoritas?

 

Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Queen y Marilyn Manson, pero solo si estoy de humor para escucharlo.

 

Escribes canciones para la banda?

 

Sí, pero siempre es un trabajo en equipo. Cada canción es diferente, en ocasiones yo compongo algo para tocar en el teclado y Dave nuestro guitarrista, compone la guitarra.

 

Una vez que ya quedamos de acuerdo, es turno del resto de la banda. John Chominsky y Nick Ericson terminan de desarrollar la canción.

 

A veces se empieza con un Riff de Dave y yo me encargo de escribir la melodía y la letra. Después el resto de la banda hace lo suyo y lo hacemos demo.

 

Hasta que está listo podemos grabarlo en el estudio!.

 

Cuáles son tus metas?

 

Conquistar el mundo! J Seguir escribiendo música y hacer más giras.

Seguimos siendo una banda nueva así que tenemos muchas metas! Queremos tocar en cada lugar posible alrededor del mundo! Y escribir muchísima música.

 

Queremos construir nuestro propio mundo e invitar a todos a nuestro paraíso!.

 

Como te uniste a la banda?

 

Nos contrataron a Dave y a mí para trabajar juntos en una canción de una producción en Los Ángeles. 

Conocí a Dave y el buscaba a un cantante, tenía una banda llamada ‘’Bleed’’ y su líder era Robin McCauley.

 

Robin había tenido que dejar la banda para unirse  a otra banda llamada ‘’Survivor’’, en aquella banda seria el líder y se irían de tour, así que ‘’Bleed’’ tuvo que esperar.

 

Dave tenía mucha música y ambos teníamos metas similares, trabajamos muy bien juntos así que decidí cantar las canciones que él ya tenía. Decidimos lanzarlas como nuestro álbum debut ‘’Mask’’ y así fue como nació Edge of Paradise.

 

Como describirías el sonido de Edge of Paradise?

 

Nuestro sonido es agresivo pero también muy melódico. Con sonidos cambiantes y guitarras pesadas. Podrán escuchar algunos elementos sinfónicos y clásicos.

 

Nuestras canciones son dinámicas, teatrales y te harán sentir como en una montaña rusa. Espero que no les de miedo el circo espeluznante (heavy metal circus) porque escucharan también un poco de él.

 

Como fue la producción del disco?

 

Inmortal Waltz fue producido por Micahel Wagener. Estábamos muy emocionados y nos sentimos muy afortunados de haber trabajado con él, definitivamente es nuestro ídolo!.

 

Fuimos a su estudio en Nashville y lo grabamos.  Algunas de las primeras canciones en quedar, fueron grabadas con Bob Kulick en Los Ángeles.

 

Fue increíble haber trabajado con gente tan increíble en este álbum.

 

Que podemos esperar de Margarita Monet para este año 2015!

 

Muchas giras y música nueva. Esperamos tener listo un nuevo vídeo para fin de año.

 

Que estilo prefieres? Heavy, Sinfónico, Rock o Pop rock?

 

Me gustan todos, siempre y cuando sea Bueno! Escucho mucha música diferente.

 

Me encanta el Heavy Metal, clásico, sinfónico y pop rock. Creo que solamente no me agrada el Hip-Hop, no es mi estilo. Trato de apreciar todos los géneros.

 

Algo más que te gustaría agregar? 

 

Solo quiero agradecer a todos aquellos que nos apoyan y no puedo esperar a conocerlos a todos en nuestros shows!.
