Pyramid is an American progressive metal super-project, a collaboration of choice virtuosos with awesome vocals and lyrical content!
The mainman of this band is Lance Sawyer and he co-operate of the best musicians of the metal scene like Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex-Iced Earth, among others), Andry Lagiou (The Harps), Harry Conklin "The Tyrant" (Jag Panzer) on vocals, Mike Abdow (Fates Warning) on guitars and Chris Quirarte (Redemption) on drums, Adam Bentley (Arch Echo)guitars and mixing engineer, Joey Izzo (Arch Echo) the master on the keyboards and Perrine Missemer on the amazing violin.
All of them have passion for power progressive metal and symphonic metal and they combine together in various releases under the name of Pyramid. In 3 years, they have released 4 albums! Gold Tooth (2019), Amnesty (2020), Validity (2021) and the last one titled as “Rage” that released worldwide on physical (2-cd)and digital edition, on 4th November 2022via Sleaszy Rider.

Tell us why the creation of this project and not as a band?
Lance:
It’s a collaboration of choice virtuosos and vocalists to create a unique sound and music experience that’s not easily done ✅
Why the name Pyramid?
Lance:
Walk into any crystal shop and you will most likely see pyramid shapes on the top of crystal clusters, orgone pyramids or even crystals fashioned into the shape of a pyramid.
This is not just because pyramids are a pretty shape, there is a deep symbolism here that goes back centuries, all the way back to the time of the Ancient Egyptians and beyond 👀
What is the musical concept of this project? What styles, themes or trends is it aimed at?
Lance:
It’s a super symphonic progressive metal that has much diversity in both modern and contemporary styles infused.
Are the members permanent or have they changed? As you have released your albums, for all the readers who don't know you yet.
Lance:
From 2017 engineer / guitarist Adam Bentley and Joey Izzo have been performing up to the last release. Chris Quirarte on drums from 2017. The magic of Pyramid is it has many bricks and parts that make it mysterious and special. Glen Drover ex Megadeth and King Diamond lead guitarist has been recording guitars 🎸 to a new instrumental Pyramid which is on the tap as I write this interview 😊
The voice is our friend Andry Lagiou! A pleasure to hear from her! How was the integration with this project?
Pyramid:
There have been many vocalists on Pyramid albums. Akira, Renzo, Denny, Ripper, Harry and Andry.
Andry! In addition to being the super voice! Do you have any surprises with this project?
Pyramid:
Andry actually delivered an impressive vocal and lyrics to Empty Roads. See YouTube video of the performance 🎭
In addition to the videos you have released, like this last one of Beast with Harry Conklin (Lyric Video), will you release any other music video?
Lance:
Absolutely 👍 the title track RAGE will be out in February.
Do you have some dates for a presentation in the USA? Any festival outside your country?
Lance:
No . Unfortunately the diversity of musicians and vocalists make it a bit complicated to meet everyone’s schedules.
It's great that you have a lead voice! As it is with Andry! Have you thought about incorporating more than one voice?
Lance:
Tim Ripper Owens has did lyrics and voice on both albums. Validity and Rage 😡
How has been the acceptance of your most recent album Rage Revisited? What meaning does this album have for all of you or the collaborators? The songs or the concept?
Lance:
Rage has done very well. People far and wide seem to appreciate the work and dedication here. The meaning is social, political, personal and loss.
What else would you like to share with us?
Lance:
To share Pyramid with all your friends and family. More music is to come shortly.

¡Pyramid es un súper proyecto de metal progresivo estadounidense, una colaboración de virtuosos elegidos con voces increíbles y contenido lírico!
El principal de esta banda es Lance Sawyer y en él colaboran los mejores músicos de la escena metalera como Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex-Iced Earth, entre otros), Andry Lagiou (The Harps), Harry Conklin... ¿Por qué el nombre Pirámide?
Lance:
Ingrese a cualquier tienda de cristales y lo más probable es que vea formas piramidales en la parte superior de los racimos de cristales, pirámides de orgón o incluso cristales en forma de pirámide.
Esto no es solo porque las pirámides tienen una forma bonita, aquí hay un profundo simbolismo que se remonta a siglos atrás, hasta la época de los antiguos egipcios y más allá 👀
¿Cuál es el concepto musical de este proyecto? ¿A qué estilos, temas o tendencias se dirige?
Lance:
Es un metal progresivo súper sinfónico que tiene mucha diversidad en estilos modernos y contemporáneos infundidos.
¿Los miembros son permanentes o han cambiado? Como ustedes han lanzado sus discos, para todos los lectores que aún no te conocen.
Lance:
Desde 2017, el ingeniero/guitarrista Adam Bentley y Joey Izzo han estado tocando hasta el último lanzamiento. Chris Quirarte en la batería desde 2017.
