Draemora was formed in November 2019 in the Seattle, USA area by Terry Jenkins (vocals/guitar) after his separation from his previous band Odyssian. Seeing it as an opportunity to take a chance and try something different, he wrote a handful of songs with lyrics and demoed them out at his house. These demos attracted the attention of soon to be bandmate, ex-Jesus Wears Armani drummer Jared Conelie and ex-Odyssian vocalist Taylor Wood.

After fleshing out the demos with their own personal touches on the songs, Jenkins found local guitar player Max Taylor and set out to record the 5 song EP “Awakening”.

The EP is nothing short of heavy, melodic metal infused with honest and heartfelt lyrics; This combination works perfectly with the band’s mission to evoke an intense emotional and spiritual experience that brings out the raw emotions that are suppressed all day in normal day to day lives.

“This EP lyrically is all about battles with drugs and alcohol and the long journey out of that hell. I feel that it will connect with anyone who has ever had mental problems, family problems, or experienced relationships falling apart. I didn’t want to come across as disingenuous, or contrived and wrote about things that I really went through and put my life and my problems out there for anyone to interact with as they wish. I think this recording is intense and beautiful. It’s angry and sad and uplifting and I think is a reflection of a human living in modern-day society.” says Jenkins.

With a slight pause in the band’s plans due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Draemora is already working away on a full-length album to follow and getting ready for when they can pummel crowds live with their heavy melodic brand of progressive death metal.

Their debut EP “Awakening” is due out June 26, 2020 via Ultra Nast Records and will be available on all major digital platforms.

An entry with an acoustic guitar and later more forceful guitar chords are joined, with combined tempo between drums and guitars, a combination of gutturals and strong clean vocals in both cases, melodic but with somewhat asynchronous performances.

Dead Inside

Excellent heavy input with strong support in that very dense guitar chord, I like that background accompaniment of a little acoustic guitar, tighter tempos and gutturals sound deeper and more powerful, the clean voice has to be raised more in the presence of chords and drums.

Guilt

Very smooth input, with electric guitar chord and clean vocals, then a loud bang with a tight throaty, a slightly slow and forceful sound between the drums / guitars, later increases the melodic sound and the voice is coupled with the musical chords on the scale.

Reckoning*

A deep, dense musical entrance with greater presence, excellent melodic rhythm between speed and musical combination, a thicker and more forceful throaty, those guitars even better with those more powerful scales!

Legion of Scum

Closing with a little more speed! A sound and rhythm in sync, the throaty voice gives more weight in these last two songs! The most brutal guitar chords as it should be! We listen to a somewhat discreet and brief Riff that accompanies, here they present a more extensive guitar work and in voice as in the previous song.

My Recomendation

It's an EP with its own style and remarkable musical skills, drum work, guitar chords, melodic and a talented throaty voice, heavy guitars lead the charge on most songs with some clean vocals (part of the Death Melodic and passages in acoustic guitar), The riffs are not as complete but there is forcefulness and power, they stay a little close to the notes and scales between open perhaps the progressive part, however it is a good dose of Melodic Death with a slight orientation to Deathcore in some Of the guitar chords there is a bit of distortion, slower but shorter rhythms.

The Voice

Taylor is really very talented reaching very serious and long lasting ranges as he introduces us by continuing within the scale between chords and drums, reaching those very hard deep and dark cracks! In the clean voice it is lost a little, but with the guttural it stands out even more in each song

Draemora se formó en noviembre de 2019 en el área de Seattle, EE. UU., Por Terry Jenkins (voz / guitarra) después de su separación de su banda anterior Odyssian. Al verlo como una oportunidad para arriesgarse y probar algo diferente, escribió un puñado de canciones con letras y las demostró en su casa. Estas demostraciones atrajeron la atención del futuro compañero de banda, el ex baterista de Jesus Wears Armani, Jared Conelie, y el ex vocalista de Odyssian, Taylor Wood.

Después de desarrollar las demos con sus propios toques personales en las canciones, Jenkins encontró al guitarrista local Max Taylor y se dispuso a grabar el EP de 5 canciones "Awakening".

El EP es nada menos que heavy metal melódico infundido con letras honestas y sinceras; Esta combinación funciona perfectamente con la misión de la banda de evocar una intensa experiencia emocional y espiritual que saca a relucir las emociones crudas que se suprimen todo el día en la vida cotidiana normal.

"Este EP líricamente se trata de batallas con drogas y alcohol y el largo viaje fuera de ese infierno. Siento que se conectará con cualquier persona que haya tenido problemas mentales, problemas familiares o relaciones desmoronadas. No quería parecer poco sincero, o ingenioso y escribir sobre cosas por las que realmente pasé y expongo mi vida y mis problemas para que cualquiera pueda interactuar como lo deseen. Creo que esta grabación es intensa y hermosa. Es enojado, triste y alentador, y creo que es un reflejo de un ser humano que vive en la sociedad moderna ". dice Jenkins

Con una ligera pausa en los planes de la banda debido a la pandemia de COVID-19 de 2020, Draemora ya está trabajando en un álbum de larga duración para seguir y prepararse para cuando se pueda golpear a las multitudes en vivo con su marca melódica de death metal progresivo.

Su EP debut "Awakening" saldrá el 26 de junio de 2020 a través de Ultra Nast Records y estará disponible en todas las principales plataformas digitales.

Una entrada con una guitarra acústica y posteriormente se unen acordes de guitarras más contundentes, con tempo combinados entre batería y guitarras, una combinación de guturales y voces limpias fuertes en ambos casos, melódica pero con ejecuciones un poco a sincrónicas.

Dead Inside

Excelente entrada pesada con un apoyo fuerte en ese acorde de guitarras muy denso, me agrada ese acompañamiento de fondo de un poco de guitarra acústica, tempos más ajustados y los guturales suenan más profundos y potentes, la voz limpia tiene que alzarse más ante la presencia de los acordes y batería.

Guilt

Una entrada muy suave, con acorde de guitarra eléctrica y voz limpia, después un

golpe fuerte con un gutural reñido, un sonido un poco lento y contundente entre la batería/guitarras, posteriormente aumenta el sonido melódico y la voz se acopla con los acordes musicales en la escala.

Reckoning*

Una entrada musical profunda, densa y con mayor presencia, excelente ritmo melódico entre la velocidad y combinación musical, un gutural más grueso y contundente, esas guitarras aún mejor con esas escalas más potentes!

Legion of Scum

Cerrando con un poco de mayor velocidad! Un sonido y ritmo en sincronía, la voz gutural le da más peso en estas dos últimas canciones! Los acordes de guitarras más brutales como debe de ser! Escuchamos un Riff algo discreto y breve que acompaña, aquí presentan un trabajo de guitarra más extenso y en voz como en la canción anterior.

Mi Recomendación

Es un EP con estilo propio y habilidades musicales destacables, el trabajo de batería, acordes de guitarras, melódico y una voz gutural talentosa, guitarras pesadas lideran la carga en la mayoría de canciones con algunas voces limpias (la parte del Death Melodic y pasajes en guitarra acústica), Los riffs no son tan completos pero hay contundencia y potencia, se mantienen un poco cerca de las notas y escalas entre abiertas quizás la parte progresiva, sin embargo es una buena dosis de Death Melódico con una ligera orientación al Deathcore en algunos de los acordes de guitarra hay un poco de distorsión, ritmos más lentos, pero breves.
