Emma Elvaston, ¡She is a Mortal Sin!

A Little of Bio of Beneath My Sins is a French symphonic metal band. In December 2015, the singer Emma Elvaston, the guitarist Clement Botz, the bassist Ludovic Ossard and the drummer Fred Artale, all from Evolvent’s previous line- up, have decided to create a new band closer to their ambitions and their approach to music. Together the four members have crossed Europe playing at festivals and concerts. They also released two albums, Human Instinct” in May 2014 and “Whatever Happens” in March 2015, for which Emma has written all the lyrics and Clement has brought his own songs.

 

Thanks to the experience learned with Evolvent, Beneath my Sins now offers a free symphonic metal more mature, exploring all the possibilities of the kind.

¿How are you my friend?

 

Great! The band is going really well. We have a large number of ongoing projects and even more on the way. We’re always busy, but we're doing what we love.

 

¿Who are Beneath My Sins? ¿How the band formed?

 

Beneath My Sins is a symphonic metal band created by the latest line-up of Evolvent. The band consists of Clément Botz as the main composer and guitarist, Jonathan Connell also on guitars, Ludovic Ossard on bass, Boris on drums and myself as the lead singer. Our goal was to start from scratch in a new project that represents us better, with no restrictions other than those which we choose.

 

¿What are your musical influences inside and outside the Rock or Metal?

 

I am very influenced by classical music and also film scores. My references inside metal are basically the masters of symphonic metal: Epica and Nightwish. My favorite singers are Tarja Turunen and Amy Lee because they are not only talented singers, but they also manage to convey so much emotion with their performances.

 

¿What are your hobbies and off the stage?

 

I must admit my number one hobby is managing my band. I love organizing events, thinking of new projects, composing… That’s my everyday life!

 

¿Why this genre, the Symphonic Metal?

 

For me, Symphonic Metal is the only genre that gives me enough freedom to communicate all I want to express.

 

¿How was your vocal and musical training? Tell us a little about yourself!

 

I took my first singing lessons in 2007 after the discovery of the famous Nightwish song « Nemo » and the amazing voice of Tarja Turunen. Since then, my passion for music and particularly symphonic metal has never stopped growing.

I started being part of several cover bands and then joined in 2010 the Dark Whispers Choir of Whyzdom.

In October 2012, attracted by its melodies and energy, I joined Evolvent as a lead singer and released with the band an EP and an album. Fast captivated by live performance, I organized Evolvent’s first French tour in 2013 and a European tour in 2015 in order to promote the fresh released album “Whatever Happens”.

 

In December 2015, I found with Clement, Ludovic and Fred, Beneath My Sins, wishing to set free to my creativity and to participate more to the composition work.

 

¿Beneath My Sins, you can tell us about the band, which gives us, he wants to transmit to us?

 

With Beneath My Sins, we allow ourselves to explore all the facets of the genre and more. Our goal is not to stick to the symphonic metal standard, but not to leave either! We want above all to write music that we all enjoy. However, it is always important to us that our music conveys emotion and a certain sensitivity.

 

¿Any duet or tour soon, América and Latín América?

 

Unfortunately not! We are still a very small band that and we have to establish ourselves better in France and in Europe. But our ambition is for our music to reach people all over the world and to travel has much as we can.

 

¿What will happen with the Evolvent band?

 

We don’t really know what the founder will do with the name “Evolvent”, we prefer to focus on our projects for Beneath My Sins.

 

¿What will be the theme of the next album Beneath My Sins?

 

We are at the beginning of the writing process but I can already say that the lead theme is travel and conquests. Nevertheless, I can also say that there will be many surprises on the album. As I told you earlier, we want to explore all facets of symphonic metal with NO limits… Wait and see!

 

 

¿What awaits us with Emma for this 2016?

 

We are currently writing our new album. Our first single accompanied by a music video should be released early April 2016. Some great collaborations are already underway, but you will have to wait to find out more!

Emma Elvaston, ¡Ella es un Pecado Mortal!

Un poco de la Bio de Beneath My Sins es una banda de metal sinfónico francés. En diciembre de 2015, la cantante Emma Elvaston, el guitarrista Clemente Botz, el bajista Ludovic Ossard y el batería Fred Artale, todos de Evolvent de la alíneacion anterior, han decidido crear una nueva banda más cerca de sus ambiciones y su acercamiento a la música. Juntos, los cuatro miembros se han cruzado por Europa tocando en festivales y conciertos. También lanzaron dos álbumes, ‘’Human Instinct” en mayo de 2014 y “Whatever Happens”, en marzo de 2015, Emma ha escrito todas las letras y Clemente ha traído sus propias canciones.

 

Gracias a la experiencia que se aprende con Evolvent, Beneath My Sins ahora ofrece un metal sinfónico libre más maduro y la exploración de todas las posibilidades de este tipo.

¿Cuéntanos, como has estado?

 

¡Excelente! La banda va muy bien. Tenemos muchos proyectos en curso y muchos más en camino. Siempre estamos ocupados pero hacemos lo que nos gusta.

 

¿Quiénes son ‘’Beneath my Sins’’? Como fue que se formó la banda?

 

Beneath my sins es una banda de metal sinfónico conformada por la ultima alineación del grupo Evolvent.

 

La banda se integra por: Clement Botz en la guitarra y como principal compositor, Jonathan Conell también en las guitarras, Ludovic Ossard en el bajo, Boris en la batería y yo como cantante principal.

 

Nuestra meta principal era empezar algo desde cero, un proyecto que nos representara de la mejor forma y sin restricción alguna.

 

A diferencia de los proyectos en los que estuvimos antes.

 

¿Cuáles son tus principales influencias musicales? Dentro y fuera del metal.

 

Gran parte de mis influencias son la música clásica y música de películas.

 

Dentro del metal mis influencias son dos grandes maestros del sinfónico: Epica y Nightwish.

Mis cantantes favoritos son Tarja Turunen y Amy Lee, porque además de ser super talentosas también pueden transmitir emociones con sus interpretaciones.

 

 

¿Cuáles son tus hobbies?

 

Debo admitir que mi hobbie preferido es llevar el control de la banda! Me encanta organizar eventos, pensar en nuevos proyectos y componer!

 

Todo esto forma parte de mi vida diaria.

 

¿Porque elegiste este género?

 

Para mí el metal sinfónico es el único género que me da la suficiente libertad y me permite expresar todo lo que siento.
 

¿Cómo fue tu entrenamiento musical y vocal? Háblanos un poco de ti.

 

Tome mi primera lección de canto en el año 2007, luego de descubrir la canción ‘’Nemo’’ de Nightwish y escuchar la increíble voz de Tarja.

 

A partir de entonces, mi pasión por la música no ha dejado de crecer!

 

Comencé en grupos que tocaban covers, estuve en varios y luego en el año 2010 me uní al coro de susurros oscuros de Whyzdom (Dark Whispers Choir).

 

En Octubre de 2012, atraída por sus melodías y su energía, decidí unirme a la banda Evolvent como cantante principal y lanzamos un EP y un álbum.

 

Yo fui quien organizo la primera gira de Evolvent por Francia en el año 2013 y el Tour por Europa en el año 2015, promocionando el álbum ‘’Whatever Happens’’.

 

En Diciembre de 2015 junto a Clement,Ludovic y Fred, creamos Beneath My sins. Con la idea de expresar toda nuestra creatividad y de participar más en el proceso de composición.

 

Háblanos un poco más de la banda Beneath My sins. ¿Que nos quiere transmitir?

 

Con este grupo nos estamos permitiendo a nosotros mismos, el explorar cada faceta de este género y mucho más.

 

Nuestra meta es no apegarnos al estándar de metal sinfónico, pero tampoco alejarse por completo.

 

Pero lo más importante, es que queremos escribir música que todos podamos disfrutar. Queremos transmitir nuestras emociones y nuestra sensibilidad.

 

¿Habrá algún tour por América latina?         

 

Desafortunadamente no! Seguimos siendo una banda pequeña que aun tiene que establecerse bien en Francia y Europa.

 

Pero nuestra principal ambición es que nuestra música llegue a gente de todo el mundo! Y viajar lo más que se pueda.

 

 

¿Qué sucederá con la banda Evolvent?

 

Realmente no tengo idea de que quiera hacer el creador de la banda, con el nombre ‘’Evolvent’’. Preferimos enfocarnos en nuestros nuevos proyectos con Beneath My Sins.

 

¿Qué tema tendrá el álbum de Beneath My Sins?

 

Estamos empezando el proceso de escritura pero puedo adelantar que tratara sobre viajes y conquistas.

 

¡A pesar de eso, puedo decirles que habrá muchas sorpresas!

 

Como dije anteriormente, queremos explorar cada faceta del metal sinfónico, sin límites! … Solo esperen y verán!.

 

¿Qué podemos esperar de Emma para este año 2016?

 

Actualmente estamos escribiendo nuestro nuevo álbum.

 

Nuestro primer sencillo será acompañado de un video musical y esperamos lanzarlo en Abril de 2016.

 

¡Algunas colaboraciones están en camino, pero tendrán que esperar para saber más!
