¿How are you  Alessia and Michele?

 

Alessia: I’m fine, thank you!!

 

Michele: I’m feeling great! Thanks!

 

Who are the whole band! please present each one!

Alessia: Actually Temperance band is composed by five members: Me and Michele are the lead singers, Marco on the guitar and addictional vocals, Luca on the bass guitar and Alfonso on the drums. Michele has also played piano and keyboards in studio.

 

¿What is the story of both within their musical careers?

¿How do each of you train your voice?

 

Alessia: I began to sing when I was a child and I started to play in a band at the age of 15. I sang for many years without taking lessons, I began to study vocal techniques in 2012. Now I usually sing a lot during the day at home and I always like to try different kind of songs and styles, testing the limits of my voice :)

 

Michele: I’ve studied music since I was a child, playing piano first, then guitars (a little) and then singing. I’ve studied for years and in 2005 I also started to teach vocal techniques.

Actually I am a teacher and I also run my private recording studio...this makes me “train” everyday thanks to the work with my students and everything! Teaching is a woderful way to learn everyday!

 

To Alessia: ¿what is your vocal range? Excellent voice!

Thanks for your appreciation!  So, high notes are obviously included in my “comfort zone”, due to my thin voice :) For example, on “Of Jupiter and Moons” the lowest note that I’ve sung is an E3 on “Empires and Men”; on the other hand the highest one is a G5# on “The Art of Believing”. But maybe I can reach some higher notes and some lower notes too… Considering that I’m not talking about falsetto.

 

Darkzen: Interesting, the range of your voice!

 

¿What was the concept of your new álbum? 'Of Jupiter and Moons' the production, the creation, the letter, the inspiration!

​

Alessia: “Of Jupiter and Moons” isn’t a concept, but there’s a positive message in each of its songs, like a common thread. It’s a typical issue of Temperance’s discography.

 

Michele: Yes! Our main goal was to express ourselves and our idea of life! Life is something wonderful, a gift that we can live everyday with happiness and if we defeat all the bad and not-positive feelings…we really can reach our goals, we can pass our limits and we can find our path! I think that this is the one and only “concept” around “Of Jupiter and moons”…that is not a concept album for sure.

​

What we really cared about was the production by the way. We really wanted this album to sound real, true with no fake vocals, fake sounds and instruments…we wanted this album to sound like Temperance are for real. This is why we avoided the auto/tuning of the vocals, we wanted real strings, a real hammond, guitars with a real amplifier and so on. We asked to some friends to help us in realising this dream…and we made it! At the same time we wanted our best in terms of sounds and production, this is why we asked to Jacob Hansen to take care of the fixing and mastering…we’re really trying to do the best we can, and I hope you can see it from every detail in this new era of Temperance!

 

Of Alessia and Michele have an excellent voice both! ¿Would any other musical style within the metal like to try in some new production in the future? (more heavy, goth, or…) ¿What kind of musical influences do you have? and Within the metal scene?

 

Alessia: It’s not easy for me talking about my musical influences ahah, because through the years I usually listened to a lot of different bands and genres, and I think that each of them has left a deep imprinting in my musical soul. I randomly switch from heavy-metal to 90s grunge, from 80s new wave/post-punk to hard rock, and I like irish folk music and pop music too… I’d like to record an album for every musical genre that I listen to ahahah

 

Michele: well, I have the luck of playing in other bands too, even if Temperance is the main and most important project of course! With Kaledon I play power metal, with Overtures progressive metal. My dream is to be part of a musical probably...or why not, a Rock Opera! Musicals are a fantastic mixture of all genres and styles...I think that they really are something that ask to the vocalists to express their best!

 

Your new music is great! i love this álbum! especially the voice of Alessia surprises me in the whole album, its music is more complex and has even more true technique? each one of you members of the band as they do to put all this in each song?

 

Michele: Thanks a lot!!! Yes, this album is more complex and also more various in terms of styles compared to the previous ones but this was nothing “scheduled”. Marco wrote the songs, we did our best to record them and to “express” ourselves with this music at the top of our skills...and sounds like we reached our goal eheheh! We really hope to improve and give even more in the future albums but this doesn’t mean that we want to play more technically: I mean, we will if it will happen but our rule is to follow the music we have inside, not to define the songs on a table and write them down...you know what I mean?

 

Darkzen: yes, I imagine what you mean!

 

With this new álbum and with the previous musical works, temperance band is a concept, an evolution or follows the path towards musical modernity?

 

Michele: we just follow our instincts. Temperance do not compose an album or a song basing on what other bands of the moment sound like, we don’t have anything written down before the composing process. We just follow our hearts and the only path we have is the one that comes from our minds. Who knows? We may write a concept album in the future or maybe never...or maybe we’ll totally change our sound (even if I don’t think so ahahaha). What I’m saying is that we don’t have rules, we don’t have limits...

 

 

In this álbum, ¿will there be a new video of some song in special? my favorites songs are ‘the last hope in a world of hopes’, ‘broken promises’, ‘of jupiter and moons’ and ‘we are free’¿What surprises do you have for this 2018 with the band?

 

Michele: Ahaha you’re lucky, ‘cause the songs you mentioned are exactly our favorites too. If something more will come...a video or a production of some kind, I feel like it will be about “The last hope in a world of hopes”! But our main goal now is to play, play and play more and more to reach every country we’ll manage to reach. Playing live is our world, we really need to do it...for us and for our fans!

 

¿Will you have a tour in Latin America?

Alessia: we really hope to come in South America in the next future, what a dream! Anyway, for the next month’s we’ll be focused on Europe, we’ll follow Serenity on a tour in two legs through France, Germany, UK, Austria and neighbouring countries.

¡Gracias por la oportunidad de hablar con ustedes mis amigos! Desde Italia para el Mundo!

¿Cómo están Alessia y Michele?

Alessia: ¡Estoy bien, gracias!

Michele: ¡Me siento genial! ¡Gracias!

 

¿Quiénes son toda la banda? ¡Por favor presente cada uno!

 

Alessia: En realidad, la banda de Temperance está compuesta por cinco miembros: Michele y yo somos los cantantes principales, Marco en la guitarra y voces adicionales, Luca en el bajo y Alfonso en la batería. Michele también ha tocado el piano y los teclados en el estudio.

 

¿Cuál es la historia de ambos dentro de sus carreras musicales?

¿Cómo cada uno de ustedes entrena su voz?

 

Alessia: Comencé a cantar cuando era niña y comencé a tocar en una banda a la edad de 15 años. Canté durante muchos años sin tomar lecciones, comencé a estudiar técnicas vocales en 2012. Ahora suelo cantar mucho durante el día en casa y siempre me gusta probar diferentes tipos de canciones y estilos, probando los límites de mi voz :)

Michele: He estudiado música desde que era un niño, primero tocando el piano, luego guitarras (un poco) y luego cantando. He estudiado durante años y en 2005 también comencé a enseñar técnicas vocales.

En realidad soy profesor y también dirijo mi estudio de grabación privado... ¡esto me hace "entrenar" todos los días gracias al trabajo con mis alumnos y todo! ¡Enseñar es una manera maravillosa de aprender todos los días!

Alessia: ¿cuál es tu rango vocal? Excelente voz!

 

¡Gracias por tu apreciación! Entonces, las notas altas están obviamente incluidas en mi "zona de confort", debido a mi voz delgada :) Por ejemplo, en "De Júpiter y Lunas" la nota más baja que he cantado es un E3 en "Imperios y Hombres"; por otro lado, el más alto es un G5 # en "The Art of Believing". Pero tal vez pueda alcanzar algunas notas más altas y algunas notas más bajas también... Teniendo en cuenta que no estoy hablando de falsete.

 

Darkzen: Interesante, el rango de tu voz!

 

¿Cuál fue el concepto de su nuevo álbum? 'Of Júpiter and Moons' la producción, la creación, la letra, la inspiración!

Alessia: "Of Júpiter and Moons" no es un concepto, pero hay un mensaje positivo en cada una de sus canciones, como un hilo común. Es un tema típico de la discografía de Temperance.

 

Michele: ¡Sí! ¡Nuestro objetivo principal era expresarnos a nosotros mismos y nuestra idea de la vida! La vida es algo maravilloso, un regalo que podemos vivir todos los días con felicidad y si derrotamos todos los sentimientos malos y no positivos... realmente podemos alcanzar nuestros objetivos, podemos superar nuestros límites y ¡podemos encontrar nuestro camino! Creo que este es el único "concepto" en torno a "Of Júpiter and Moons"... eso no es un álbum conceptual seguro.

​

Lo que realmente nos importó fue la producción por cierto. Realmente queríamos que este álbum suene real, verdadero, sin voces falsas, sonidos falsos e instrumentos... queríamos que este álbum suene como Temperance de verdad. Es por eso que evitamos el auto / ajuste de las voces, queríamos cuerdas reales, un verdadero hammond, guitarras con un amplificador real y demás. Le pedimos a algunos amigos que nos ayuden a realizar este sueño... ¡y lo logramos! Al mismo tiempo, queríamos lo mejor en términos de sonido y producción, por eso le pedimos a Jacob Hansen que se encargue de arreglar y masterizar... en realidad estamos tratando de hacer lo mejor que podamos, y espero que puedan ver ¡desde cada detalle en esta nueva era de Templanza!

 

¡Alessia y Michele tienen una excelente voz! ¿Algún otro estilo musical dentro del metal les gustaría probar alguna nueva producción en el futuro? (más heavy, goth, o ...) ¿Qué tipo de influencias musicales tienes? y dentro de la escena de metal?

 

Alessia: No es fácil para mí hablar sobre mis influencias musicales, porque a través de los años solía escuchar muchas bandas y géneros diferentes, y creo que cada uno de ellos ha dejado una profunda impronta en mi alma musical. Cambio aleatoriamente del heavy metal al grunge de los 90, de la ola nueva / post-punk al hard rock de los 80, y me gusta la música folk irlandesa y la pop también... Me gustaría grabar un álbum para cada género musical que escucho Ah ah ah

 

Michele: bueno, también tengo la suerte de tocar en otras bandas, ¡incluso si Temperance es el proyecto principal y más importante, por supuesto! Con Kaledon band yo toco power metal, con Overturas de metal progresivo. Mi sueño es ser parte de un musical probablemente... o por qué no, ¡una Opera de Rock! Los musicales son una mezcla fantástica de todos los géneros y estilos... ¡Creo que realmente son algo que piden a los vocalistas que expresen lo mejor posible!

 

¡Su nueva música es genial! ¡Me gusta este álbum! especialmente la voz de Alessia me sorprende en todo el álbum, su música es más compleja y tiene una técnica aún más verdadera. Cada uno de ustedes miembros de la banda como hacen para poner todo esto en cada canción?

 

Michele: ¡Muchas gracias! Sí, este álbum es más complejo y también más variado en términos de estilos en comparación con los anteriores, pero esto no fue nada "programado". Marco escribió las canciones, hicimos nuestro mejor esfuerzo para grabarlas y "expresarnos" con esta música en la cima de nuestras habilidades... y suena como si hubiéramos alcanzado nuestra meta eheheh! Realmente esperamos mejorar y dar aún más en los álbumes futuros, pero esto no significa que queremos jugar más técnicamente: quiero decir, lo haremos si va a suceder, pero nuestra regla es seguir la música que tenemos dentro, no define las canciones en una tabla y escríbelas... ¿sabe a qué me refiero?

Darkzen: si, me imagino a lo que te refieres!

 

Con este nuevo álbum y con las obras musicales anteriores, ¿la banda Temperance es un concepto, una evolución o sigue el camino hacia la modernidad musical?

 

Michele: solo seguimos nuestros instintos. Temperance no compone un álbum o una canción basándose en cómo suenan otras bandas del momento, no tenemos nada escrito antes del proceso de composición. Simplemente seguimos nuestros corazones y el único camino que tenemos es el que viene de nuestras mentes. ¿Quién sabe? Podemos escribir un álbum conceptual en el futuro o quizás nunca... o tal vez cambiemos totalmente nuestro sonido (incluso si no lo creo, ahahaha). Lo que estoy diciendo es que no tenemos reglas, no tenemos límites...

 

En este álbum, ¿habrá un nuevo video de alguna canción en especial? Mis canciones favoritas son "la última esperanza en un mundo de esperanzas", "promesas rotas", "de júpiter y de lunas" y "somos libres". ¿Qué sorpresas tienes para este 2018 con la banda?

 

Michele: Ahaha tienes suerte, porque las canciones que mencionaste son exactamente nuestras favoritas también. Si algo más vendrá... un video o una producción de algún tipo, siento que se tratará de "¡La última esperanza en un mundo de esperanzas!" Pero nuestro principal objetivo ahora es jugar, jugar y jugar cada vez más para llegar a todos los países a los que lograremos llegar. Tocar en vivo es nuestro mundo, realmente tenemos que hacerlo... ¡para nosotros y para nuestros fanáticos!

 

¿Tendrás una gira por América Latina?

 

Alessia: realmente esperamos venir a Sudamérica en el próximo futuro, ¡qué sueño! De todos modos, durante los próximos meses nos centraremos en Europa, seguiremos a Serenity en una gira en dos etapas a través de Francia, Alemania, Reino Unido, Austria y países vecinos.
