Tokyo’s Thrash Heroes SURVIVE – active in the world for over 20 years – have forged their own indelible path within the jmetal scene. It was back in 1998, when former Death File guitarist and mastermind Nemo decided to form a thrash metal band of his own which soon became the juggernaut known as SURVIVE. Over the next two decades the band have played many big festivals (Loud Park, Beast Fest, Multiplex-motorbike event, Korean Live Rock, Formoz Festival, Asia Metal Festival, Dongducheon Rock Festival, Trendkill Extreme Feast, etc) and toured all over the world with acts such as Behemoth, United, Killswitch Engage, Dope, Pulling Teeth, Testament, Outrage, Anthrax, Hatebleed, Napalm Death, Amon Amarth, Venom Inc, At The Gates, to name just a few, cementing their place in Japanese metal history. Still going strong, SURVIVE‘s latest studio album “Immortal Warriors” was released to the Japanese market on September 12th, 2018 and a year later, on September 24th 2019, the album is out worldwide via Sliptrick Records. SURVIVE have lost none of their verve and “Immortal Warriors” is an absolute must for fans of this fantastic, often overlooked band.

Starting with an ambient, sinister and quiet intro, where the brutal and stuck chords open to the beat of the drums, with a slow rhythm and with that double of drums to everything, with a brutal scream, let Hell begin.

 

Wrath

 

Taking a turn with speed, destruction and ferocity in the instruments, chord line coupled to the drum beat that leads all the rhythm, heaviness and speed.

 

Fuck Against Authority

 

Keeping the heaviness and brutality, with more Thrash metal content dominating the fast, fast and raw tempo, the drums keeping most of the sound and strength.

My Recomendation

 

Survive band the Infernal Samurais! They give us this live album with a lot of energy, power and strength, with all their experience within these genres, keeping their style of more thrash metal and death metal content with a black metal atmosphere but with a slightly different combination of epic and power. metal that can be heard in some songs and passages, those riffs at times manage to do it, the drums rumble at all times keeping the beat and opening in fact to the other instruments, the voices with a good combination of gutturals and clean voices that perhaps remind us of Sepultura with equal density, so Survive have released this album with a free EP featuring guest appearances from members of Venom, if you're a fan of these dense and brutal styles! Dando un giro con velocidad, destrucción y ferocidad en los instrumentos, línea de acordes acoplados al compás de batería que lidera todo el ritmo, pesadez y velocidad.

Un poco diferente esta pista, con esa brutalidad en los acordes y batería un poco más densa, un estilo un poco más progresivo y épico quizás en esta pista y en la versión orquestal lo podemos notar perfectamente.

Mayor potencia en esos acordes estructurados y densos, batería un poco más relajada acompañando a las voces limpias y fuertes.

 

Human Misery

 

Volviendo a la velocidad, fuerza y potencia en la línea de guitarras, el cual en todas las pistas lidero esa batería dominante y densa.

Survive band los Samurais Infernales! Nos dan este albúm en vivo con mucha energía, potencia y fuerza, con toda su experiencia dentro de estos géneros, manteniendo su estilo de mayor contenido de thrash metal y death metal con una atmosfera black metal pero con una combinación un poco diferente épico y power metal que se logra escuchar en algunas canciones y pasajes, esos riffs por momentos lo logran hacer, la batería retumba en todo momento manteniendo el compás y abriendo de hecho a los demás instrumentos, las voces con un buen combinado de guturales y voces limpias eso quizás nos recuerden a Sepultura con una densidad de igual manera, así que Survive ha lanzado este álbum con un EP gratuito con la aparición especial de miembros de Venom, si eres fans de estos estilos densos y brutales! ¡Escucha a estos feroces Samurais!
