Following different lives and musical paths since 2000, founder members of LEIDEN and IN LUPUS PACIS are now gathering for a brand new musical journey.

​

First of all, ULVAND trio is about real friendship and a strong will overtaking hard life experiences and self-questioning. Healing doubts and pain, time strengthened certainty, the will to walk together again and build this project as a real spiritual quest with sharing and sincerity as master words.

​

ULVAND (literally « wolf spirit ») refers to this complex animal in the collective unconscious mind, both cruel and protective, often feared and hunted, rarely understood but always brave and mysterious, forcing the admiration of men. Wolf spirit is about loyalty, courage and respect.

​

Both music and lyrics of the trio are full of those noble values, sharing and building a true lifestyle. Far from standards, ULVAND’s dark metal is modern and powerful. Electro sounds, programmed drums, classical landscapes (cellos, violins, organs and percussions), heavy guitars and bass carry a meaningful duet voices. Strong male growls and ethereal female vocals both collide and complement each other in a beautiful musical dance. ULVAND’s music is powerful, melancholic and dark, with atmospheric and symphonic elements.

Human Zoo

​

Good musical start, dense, soft and heavy sound, the voices of Serge and Beran, contrast quite well, the gutturals give it a goth / doom metal vibe, the notes are slow and somewhat long.

​

Chrysalis

​

Excellent heavier and more forceful entry, a faster tempo, a little more melodic the song, the duet of voices is very contrasting, the deepest musical notes in the gutturals and the clean and soft voice of Baren give it an excellent atmosphere heavier.

​

7 Virtues

​

I like that entry, hard and dense, with slow rhythm, which later open the way for us with the combination of voices, guttural and clean, the chord is forceful and abrupt at times.

​

Valhalla

​

At times it reflects the continuation of 7 Virtues, same style, same intensity, tempo, and the timing of each of the voices, with a brief moment of a little soft acoustic pulses that accompany Beren's clean voice.

​

Despair

​

A strong entrance with a comfortable riff, the guttural times increase here, with some piano sequences later which lower the intensity of the track almost in the final part closing the two voices in a desperate ending.

​

Una Vida

​

An atmospheric entry with an alert sound and a narrative with a dark theme and those gutturals that deepen with long notes and that discreet riff accompanied by heavy and strong drums, with chorus voices in the background now join the powerful voice from Serge and soft and clean from Beren!

My Recomendation

​

It is an EP with a style and heavy, dark and melancholic sounds, which make high contrast with the combination of guttural, clean and soft voices and with a little chorus that accompanies for example in the last song, inside the composition of The Origins there is Goth / Symphonic metal for the background nuances in some tracks, so this Dark Metal proves it, this genre has mixes of black metal with Death / Doom Metal, except that they also add a bit of tints Industrial Metal.

The Origins is heavy, powerful in vocals, in chords and sounds, with a dark atmosphere, with cinematic, artistic, melancholic elements and with many symphonic elements.

​

The Voice

​

The voices here have a lot of role, there is a long time of exposure of both voices of both the gutturals and the beautiful voice of Beren and when there is this musical mix both must fit in their due moments, times and scales, sometimes a little mixing it does not reach the voice and that is where both contrast and both one voice and the other come out to compensate that part, Beren's voice is very beautiful, soft, clean and with a clear range and timbre that goes hand in hand with the soft notes and long, and the strong and forceful notes are carried very well by the gutturals.

Siguiendo diferentes vidas y caminos musicales desde el año 2000, los miembros fundadores de LEIDEN e IN LUPUS PACIS ahora se están reuniendo para un nuevo viaje musical.

​

En primer lugar, el trío ULVAND trata sobre la verdadera amistad y una fuerte voluntad que supera las experiencias difíciles de la vida y el auto cuestionamiento. Curando dudas y dolor, el tiempo fortaleció la certeza, la voluntad de caminar juntos nuevamente y construir este proyecto como una verdadera búsqueda espiritual con el intercambio y la sinceridad como palabras maestras.

​

ULVAND (literalmente «espíritu lobo») se refiere a este complejo animal en la mente inconsciente colectiva, tanto cruel como protectora, a menudo temida y cazada, raramente comprendida pero siempre valiente y misteriosa, lo que obliga a la admiración de los hombres. El espíritu del lobo se trata de lealtad, coraje y respeto.

Tanto la música como las letras del trío están llenas de esos valores nobles, compartiendo y construyendo un verdadero estilo de vida. Lejos de los estándares, el metal oscuro de ULVAND es moderno y poderoso. Los sonidos electro, la batería programada, los paisajes clásicos (violonchelos, violines, órganos y percusiones), las guitarras pesadas y el bajo llevan un significativo dúo de voces. Los fuertes gruñidos masculinos y las voces femeninas etéreas chocan y se complementan en un hermoso baile musical. La música de ULVAND es poderosa, melancólica y oscura, con elementos atmosféricos y sinfónicos.

​

Buen inicio musical, sonido denso, suave y pesado, las voces de Serge y Beran, contrastan bastante bien, los guturales le da un ambiente tipo goth/doom metal, las notas son lentas y algo largas.

​

Chrysalis

​

Excelente entrada más pesada y contundente, un tempo más veloz, un poco más melódica la canción, el dueto de voces es muy contrastante, las notas musicales más graves y profundas en los guturales y la voz limpia y suave de Baren le dan un excelente ambiente más pesado.

​

7 Virtues

​

Me agrada esa entrada, dura y densa, con ritmo lento, que posteriormente nos abren el camino con la combinación de voces, guturales y limpias, el acorde es contundente y abrupto por momentos.

​

Valhalla

​

Por momentos me refleja la continuación de 7 Virtues, mismo estilo, misma intensidad, tempo, y los tiempos de cada una de las voces, con un breve momento de un poco de pulsos acústicos suaves que acompañan la voz limpia de Beren.

​

Despair

​

Una entrada fuerte con riff re confortable, los tiempos del gutural aumenta aquí, con algunas secuencias de piano posteriormente el cual bajan la intensidad de la pista casi en la parte final cerrando las dos voces en un final desesperado.

​

Una Vida

​

Una entrada atmosférica con un sonido de alerta y una narrativa con una temática oscura y esos guturales que profundizan con las notas largas y ese riff discreto en compañía de la batería pesada y fuerte, con voces de coro al fondo ahora se unen a la voz poderosa de Serge y suave y limpia de Beren!

Mi Recomendación

​

Es un EP con un estilo y sonidos pesados, oscuros y melancólicos, que hacen alto contraste con la combinación de voces guturales, limpias y suaves y con un poco de voces en coro que acompaña por ejemplo en la última canción, en su interior de la composición de The Origins hay metal Goth/Sinfónico por los matices de fondo en algunas pistas, así este Dark Metal lo demuestra, este género tiene mezclas de black metal con el Death/Doom Metal, salvo que también le agregan un poco de tintes de Metal Industrial.  

​

The Origins es pesado, poderoso en voces, en acordes y sonidos, con una atmósfera oscura, con elementos cinemáticos, artísticos, melancólicos y con muchos elementos sinfónicos.

​

La Voz

​

Las voces aquí tienen mucho rol, hay mucho tiempo de exposición de ambas voces tanto de los guturales como la bella voz de Beren y cuando hay esta mezcla musical ambas deben de encajar en sus debidos momentos, tiempos y escalas, a veces un poco la mezcla no alcanza a la voz y ahí es donde contrastan ambas y tanto una voz como otra salen a compensar esa parte, la voz de Beren es muy hermosa, suave, limpia y con un rango y timbre claro que va de la mano con las notas suaves y largas, y las notas contundentes y fuertes la lleva muy bien los guturales.
