Official Bio of the Band

Like a blackened metallic phoenix rising from the ashes of their previous band Endemise; Serene Dark intends to take their music to new heights. The very name Serene Dark is a powerful statement of intent; in the words of guitarist Dale Sauve “our music can be soothing and melodic at times, and dark and heavy at other times, so Serene Dark was a perfect fit.”

Morphing from Endemise to Serene Dark was a natural progression. “We have been making music with our current line-up for the past decade and decided a new name and fresh start was in order. Our former band Endemise formed over 15 years ago and it went through so many line-up changes and musical directions, we decided to put that band to rest and create Serene Dark as a fresh start.”

The band adds:

"The aim of the song is to hit you right out of the gate with a lightning-fast drumroll into a heavy guitar chugging rhythm with choir and string ensemble orchestrations. The idea behind this was greatly inspired by "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" by Dimmu Borgir."

Dualitatem

A guttural atmospheric / narrative, symphonic and ambient entry, with somewhat slow / loud chords, pronounced sounds and riffs, tempos and combined performances, is what we heard in the beginning.

Of Serpentine Form

Double blast strong and forceful, a second heavier song and without leaving the double hype that attacks from the beginning, the throaty is independent of the rhythm and tempo of the musical rhythm, it is common to hear it in Black Metal, the song is dense and with similar performances and again.

Where Time Drowns Still

More scenic and atmospheric entry, amplifying the chords with longer notes, then a massive attack of strength and excellent brutality with those gutturals and grunts that accompany the entire song, double blast everything you can give us! This song is more theatrical and with different tempos, here the voice joins the musical scales at times.

Trance of Disintegration

Excellent entry of melodic chords and with a slow and powerful structure, the gutturals and the dark part are more pronounced! The symphonic or scale elements are very remarkable, the song becomes slower and darker!

Dweller In The Void of The Spirit

A symphonic, funeral and artistic entry, although the double hype does not take long and the brutality begins! More melodic riffs and increased speed, a faster Black at times.

Reflecting Envenomed

Louder and heavier those guitar chords, slow and dark notes, constant and dense drums, the gutturals and grunts don’t take long, after a different sound and style a melodic section we can hear in that song starting with the voices that are no longer guttural and cleaner but little time.

Grieving The Distortion of Self

Ambient and symphonic sounds in this song as I have been saying more theatrically this melodic part of the album, a totally ambient track.

Malocchio

It begins with a short narrative and is accompanied by a brutal, strong and fast-paced drum sound with full force and forcefulness, a classic Black as we've been listening to old-school style!

The Last Disciple of Dionysus

Slow and strong style and musical input, a continuity similar to the previous song, slightly longer chords and an equal battery without losing the force and the powerful dejection, the guttural at its maximum splendor, although later it becomes faster and jammed the song!

Onward, Burning Radiance

And ending with an atmospheric, gloomy, narrative and melancholic part that contrasts with all the previous style shown, but adding part of the style and musical stamp printed on all the tracks, a melodic, heavy and dark ending.

My Recomendation

A dense, heavy album with a Black / Death Metal style and with its slightly different counterpart in the Symphonic part, very remarkable and striking, with short hard and razor-like riffs! A drum kit with a double bass drum with full power and forcefulness along with long and heavy chords, the tempos improve as the songs go by, it is a very continuous album and similar on some tracks musically, the difference at times is in the symphonic parts.

“Enantiodromia” (pronounced en-an-ti-o-dromia) is dark, entrancing, and orchestral while maintaining the key elements of death and black metal. Overall, the album explores the confrontation between the shadow aspect of the personality and the integration of it into the self to create wholeness. Influenced by philosophy, stoicism, hermeticism, and the occult. The album, lyrically, is a journey towards individuation by the exploration of human darkness and transforming that pain into something tangible and meaningful. In essence- to lose one's self entirely to reach perfection.

It is a dense and dark symphonic, orchestral album with elements full of very fresh, creative and overwhelming black / death metal!

Bio Oficial de la Banda

Como un fénix metálico ennegrecido que se levanta de las cenizas de su banda anterior Endemise; Serene Dark tiene la intención de llevar su música a nuevas alturas. El mismo nombre Serene Dark es una poderosa declaración de intenciones; en palabras del guitarrista Dale Sauve "nuestra música puede ser suave y melódica a veces, y oscura y pesada en otras ocasiones, por lo que Serene Dark fue perfecta".

Morphing de Endemise a Serene Dark fue una progresión natural. “Hemos estado haciendo música con nuestra formación actual durante la última década y decidimos que un nuevo nombre y un nuevo comienzo estaban en orden. Nuestra antigua banda Endemise se formó hace más de 15 años y pasó por tantos cambios de formación y direcciones musicales, que decidimos dejar a esa banda en reposo y crear Serene Dark como un nuevo comienzo ".

Dualitatem

Una entrada atmosférica/narrativa, sinfónica y ambiental, guturales, con unos acordes algo lentos/fuertes, sonidos y riffs pronunciados, tempos y ejecuciones combinadas, es lo que escuchamos en el inicio.

Of Serpentine Form

Doble blast fuerte y contundente, una segunda canción más pesada y sin dejar el doble bombo que ataca desde un principio, el gutural es independiente del ritmo y tempo del ritmo musical, es común escucharlo en el Black Metal, densa la canción y con ejecuciones semejantes una y otra vez.

Where Time Drowns Still

Entrada más escénica y atmosférica, ampliando los acordes con notas más largas, ¡después un ataque masivo de fuerza y brutalidad excelente con esos guturales y gruñidos que acompañan en toda la canción, doble blast a todo lo que nos puede dar! Esta canción es más teatral y con tempos distintos aquí la voz se conjunta por momentos a las escalas musicales.

Trance of Disintegration

Excelente entrada de acordes melódicos y con una estructura lenta y potente, ¡los guturales y la parte oscura es más pronunciada! ¡Los elementos sinfónicos o en escalas son muy notables, se vuelve lenta la canción y más oscura!

Dweller In The Void of The Spirit

Una entrada sinfónica, fúnebre y artística, aunque el doble bombo no se hace esperar y la brutalidad comienza! Riffs más melódicos y velocidad aumentada, un Black más rápido por momentos.

Reflecting Envenomed

Más fuerte y pesado esos acordes de guitarras, notas lentas y oscuras, batería constante y densa, los guturales y gruñidos no se hacen esperar, después sonido y estilo distinto una sección melódica podemos escuchar en esa canción empezando con las voces que dejan de ser guturales y más limpias pero poco tiempo.

Grieving The Distortion of Self

Sonidos ambientales y sinfónicos en esta canción como he venido diciendo más teatral esta parte melódica del albúm, una pista totalmente ambiental.

Inicia con una breve narrativa y la acompaña un sonido brutal, fuerte y acelerado de batería con total fuerza y contundencia, un Black clásico como lo hemos venido escuchando al estilo a la vieja escuela!

Estilo y entrada musical lenta y fuerte, una continuidad semejante a la canción anterior, acordes un poco más largas y una batería igual sin perder la fuerza y el abatimiento potente, el gutural a su máximo esplendor, aunque después se vuelve más veloz y atascada la canción!

Onward, Burning Radiance

Y finalizando con una parte atmosférica, lúgubre, narrativa y melancólica que contrasta con todo el estilo anterior mostrado, pero agregando parte del estilo y sello musical impreso en todas las pistas, un final melódico, pesado y oscuro.

Mi Recomendación

Un albúm denso, pesado, con un estilo Black/ Death Metal y con su contra parte un poco distinta en la parte Sinfónica muy notable y llamativo, con breves riffs duros y como navajas! Una batería con un doble bombo con total potencia y contundencia junto a unos acordes largos y pesados, los tempos se van mejorando conforme pasan las canciones, es un albúm muy continuo y semejante en algunas pistas musicalmente, la diferencia por momentos es en las partes sinfónicas.

"Enantiodromia" (pronunciado en-an-ti-o-dromia) es oscuro, fascinante y orquestal, manteniendo los elementos clave de la muerte y el black metal. En general, el álbum explora la confrontación entre el aspecto sombrío de la personalidad y la integración del mismo en el yo para crear integridad. Influenciado por la filosofía, el estoicismo, el hermetismo y lo oculto. El álbum, líricamente, es un viaje hacia la individualización mediante la exploración de la oscuridad humana y transformando ese dolor en algo tangible y significativo. En esencia, perderse por completo para alcanzar la perfección.
