Chaos and Order, two seemingly opposing forces that, when observed closely enough, work together subtly to create art in its most divine form. Enter The Order of Chaos, a highly regarded and well-respected heavy metal group from the rural northern wastelands of Alberta Canada. For the last 12 years, trudging through the snow covered Canadian landscape, and touring the vast expanses of Europe and China, this band has cut its teeth in the most demanding gigging environment this side of the equator. The band continues to bring their unique, fresh and well developed sound to a genre of music so saturated with sound-a-likes, 80s throwbacks and copy cats. After years of dedication to their art and hard work in the music industry, The Order of Chaos has cemented themselves as one of Canada’s premier metal artists. In 2013, the band was awarded Heavy Metal Recording of the year for their 2nd full length album entitled “Burn These Dreams”. Their extensive activities and efforts in the music industry has brought Edmonton into the heavy metal spotlight nationally and across the globe highlighting the diversity and quality found within the Edmonton arts community.
In September of 2012, after signing a management and booking agency deal with Red Lion Music (Germany), The Order of Chaos made their first appearance overseas, stunning 2000+ fans at the Turock Open Air Festival and thousands more in clubs across central Europe. Just seven months later they returned to Europe with the Bay Area thrash legends “Vicious Rumors” supporting them on their Electric Punishment Tour, gaining many new fans and quickly securing a solid reputation as a phenomenal live act to behold. In 2015 the band continued to establish this foundation with a tour as direct support for Nuclear Blast Records’ up and coming “A-List” band “Battle Beast.” The visibility gained on this tour lead to the band being offered an all tour in China including a headlining appearance at China’s largest music festival (MIDI Festival) in front of 15,000+ fans.
With the future looking bright, the determination to continue succeed, and the creative talent to put forth a fresh sound for heavy metal lovers everywhere, The Order of Chaos is primed for an assault on stages, and headbangers everywhere with the release of their new EP.

Tell us about The Order of Chaos band! What is your story in the band?
Amanda:
The Order of Chaos was created by Simon (Lead Guitar) and Sterling (original Bass player) in 2004
I was just in high school when my sister started dating Timothy Prevost. He introduced us to metal and snuck me into a lot of amazing shows. He became the new drummer for TOOC. When they were looking for a new vocalist my sister Jenna had mentioned me! Even though I was just playing acoustic guitar singing The Beatles with my Step-Father Robert at the time. Timothy asked 'can you sing metal' and of course I replied yyyyeeeeessss iiìiiii caaaaaannnnn... I pretty much faked it till I made it sort of thing. It wasn't until I was at a show drunk in the alleyway that I was singing Megadeth at the top of my lungs. Drew (original Rhythm Guitar) overheard me... I was asked to audition... I had to sing Bark at the Moon by Ozzy and Tornado of Souls by Megadeth and the rest was history. I joined the band in 2006!

Tell us a bit about yourself! Why the Metalhead Style?
Amanda:
I pretty much told you how I got into metal in the first question 🖤 I honestly love all music there is so much out there to explore it's amazing. I will always love Metal though. For its intensity and craziness! I truly still enjoy being at a show everyone's sweaty and headbanging getting pushed around beer spilling thunderous kicks of the drummer growls and sick guitar solos... I can't get enough! I love the Metal community and my Metal Family. What people don't get is that there are 100s of different genres of Metal and its incredible! All these badass musicians are so talented. Once we all open up our minds to All music it's amazing what you'll find.

You have a powerful voice! Guttural voice and clean voice, what is your vocal training?
Amanda:
I honestly should have more training then I've had. I went to a bunch of different vocal coaches rarely. I watched Melissa Cross a few times. I even recently had a Vocal Health Coach which was super helpful and opened up a whole new world of healthy singing and warm-ups. I learn the most though from the amazing musicians I've met over the years! My warm-ups are literally a combination of tips from my fellow musicians. I just chose what I liked and put it together my own way. With my Vocal Health Coach though my warm-up went from 20 mins to an hour or more. Filled not just with singing but neck stretches .. jaw massages .. breathing, etc its nuts! I truly wish I learned earlier about all of this and took better care of my voice.
What are your biggest musical influences inside and outside Metal? All your fans want to know!
Amanda:
I know this sounds silly but everyone. I get inspired every single day by anything and everything. I love music it is art and there are billions of genres it's so cool! I do love Animals as leaders. Opeth. When I first joined TOOC I would sing along to Nightwish the album Once. Pink Floyd. Stefflon Don. Rezz. Jidenna Unleash the Archers Battle Beast Alice in chains Blue Rodeo etc the list goes on and on and on and the variety is way out there! I am constantly looking for new music daily and it doesn't matter the genre ❤ I can't even tell you my influences it would be a novel long and it would grow every day.
Now about you new album ‘Maniacal’ tell us about the new album! It has a very good production! Tell us about the collaborations and the musical style of this album
Amanda:
Maniacal Album was Engineered by Diego Fernandez Oracle_Stud Vocals engineered by Nathan Kidd of Method Music Productions Mix engineered by Nino Laurenne at Sonic pump studios Helsinki Finland Master engineered by Svante Forsback Chartmakers West Espoo Finland.
We are very blessed to know and be connected with such talented incredible people to help us through this process. This album is definitely an angry one haha we really put our heart and soul and hate into it! We may have a lot of 'Chaos' in the band but it sure made for a heavy-hitting album. The style is definitely a lot heavier than we usually do but with a lot of surprises along the way. I think it takes you on a journey telling you the story of our deepest emotions.
About the lyrics of the album, how was the creation of each song? Did you write any of them?
Amanda:
We have a system with the vocals. It's usually Simon and I in a basement for many many hours and months. We write the lyrics together. I'll take the songs home and listen to the riff. I jott down how the song is making me feel. I pretty much go from there. I just start writing. Then I bring it to Simon and we hash it out. This time around was a lot different because we are kind of at the end of this band possibly and so it was emotional and sad and angry lyrics!
I think there is always a main song in all albums! For you what is that song which is the essence of the new album or more representative and why?
Amanda:
It's hard to say because as you release the album you have a favorite song and then in a few months you may hate that song and love another one! It's a vicious circle I'm sure any musician can relate too. I think for me it is Maniacal. I wrote that whole thing alone in a very vulnerable state and it's my words straight up. I think for the whole band Break Point is the main one. The intensity of the instruments and how real the lyrics are. Every member of the band though probably has their very own song they choose.
Do you already have dates scheduled for the presentation of the new album or a tour in your country?
Amanda:
Honestly, we all need to have a couple of meetings and discuss a lot of things. Right now there are no dates or tours but hopefully in the near future things will get worked out and we can promote the new album. We are so thankful and overwhelmed with the support that has come from this album. We will do our best to make sure the fans are satisfied whether it shows or at least some special merch we can make to put online.
What other surprises does Amanda have with The Order of Chaos?
Amanda:
I don't have any surprises with TOOC but your question definitely inspires me to think about that and maybe come up with a special something for all of our lovely supporters, our family. The reason we are able to do this. They do deserve something don't they ❤

You have fans in Noth América and other parts of the world! what would you say to them now?
Amanda:
To all the fans (family) around the globe! YOU have seriously made all our dreams come true. Without YOU we are nothing. All the experiences we've had all the amazing people we've met. The lifestyle is surreal and I don't ever want to stop. You have given me my dream. Now I ask of you a very important favor... please keep chasing yours. Don't ever stop. Don't ever give up. Just keep moving. One day at a time. You've got this. You are a badass. You are ALL POWERFUL ❤💋

The Life is always moving and changing. Change is very difficult. That will never stop me though. No matter what happens I will continue to make music. So keep a lookout and keep supporting all artists and go to shows and bang your head! Be in the moment. Its Bliss. Love you all

¡Cuéntanos un poco sobre ti! ¿Por qué el estilo Metalhead?

Más o menos te dije cómo me metí en el metal en la primera pregunta 🖤 Sinceramente, me encanta toda la música que hay tanto para explorar que es increíble. Aunque siempre amaré el Metal. Por su intensidad y locura! Realmente todavía disfruto de estar en un espectáculo donde todo el mundo está sudoroso y con ganas de ser empujado por la cerveza derramando golpes atronadores de los gruñidos de batería y solos de guitarra enfermos... ¡No puedo tener suficiente! Amo a la comunidad Metal y a mi Familia Metal. ¡Lo que la gente no entiende es que hay cientos de géneros diferentes de Metal y es increíble! Todos estos músicos rudos son tan talentosos. Una vez que todos abramos nuestras mentes a Toda la música, es increíble lo que encontrarás.

Tienes una voz poderosa! Voz gutural y voz limpia, ¿cuál es tu entrenamiento vocal?
Amanda
Sinceramente, debería tener más entrenamiento del que he tenido. Fui a un montón de entrenadores vocales diferentes rara vez. Vi a Melissa Cross un par de veces. Incluso recientemente tuve un entrenador de salud vocal que fue súper útil y abrió un mundo completamente nuevo de cantos y calentamientos saludables. ¡Sin embargo, aprendo más de los increíbles músicos que he conocido a lo largo de los años! Mis ejercicios de calentamiento son literalmente una combinación de consejos de mis compañeros músicos. Simplemente elegí lo que me gustaba y lo armé a mi manera. Con mi entrenador de salud vocal, mi calentamiento pasó de 20 minutos a una hora o más. Lleno no solo de canto, sino de estiramientos del cuello, masajes en la mandíbula, respiración, etc. Realmente desearía haber aprendido antes sobre todo esto y cuidar mejor mi voz.
¿Cuáles son tus mayores influencias musicales dentro y fuera del metal? ¡Todos tus fanáticos quieren saber!

Sé que esto suena tonto, pero todos. Todos los días me inspiro en todo y en todo. Me encanta la música, es arte y hay miles de millones de géneros, ¡es genial! Amo a los animales como líderes. Opeth. Cuando me uní a TOOC por primera vez, cantaría junto a Nightwish el álbum Once. Pink Floyd Stefflon Don. Somos muy bendecidos de conocer y estar conectados con personas increíbles y talentosas para ayudarnos a través de este proceso. Este álbum definitivamente está enojado, jaja, ¡realmente ponemos nuestro corazón y alma y odiamos en él! Es posible que tengamos mucho 'Chaos' en la banda, pero seguro que fue un álbum impactante. El estilo es definitivamente mucho más pesado de lo que solemos hacer, pero con muchas sorpresas en el camino. Creo que te lleva en un viaje contándote la historia de nuestras emociones más profundas.
Sobre la letra del álbum, ¿cómo fue la creación de cada canción? ¿Escribiste alguna de ellas?

Tenemos un sistema con las voces. Normalmente somos Simon y yo en un sótano durante muchas horas y meses. Escribimos la letra juntos. Me llevaré las canciones a casa y escucharé el riff. Anoto cómo la canción me está haciendo sentir. Yo prácticamente voy desde allí. Acabo de empezar a escribir. Luego se lo llevo a Simon y lo sacamos. Esta vez fue muy diferente porque posiblemente estamos al final de esta banda, ¡así que fue una letra emotiva, triste y enojada!
¡Creo que siempre hay una canción principal en todos los álbumes! Para ti, ¿cuál es esa canción que es la esencia del nuevo álbum o más representativa y por qué?
Amanda
¡Es difícil de decir porque cuando lanzas el álbum tienes una canción favorita y en unos meses puedes odiar esa canción y amar otra! Es un círculo vicioso, estoy segura de que cualquier músico también puede relacionarse. Creo que para mí es maníaco. Escribí todo eso solo en un estado muy vulnerable y son mis palabras directamente. Creo que para toda la banda, Break Point es el principal. La intensidad de los instrumentos y cuán reales son las letras. Sin embargo, cada miembro de la banda probablemente tenga su propia canción que elijan.
¿Ya tienes fechas programadas para la presentación del nuevo álbum o una gira en tu país?
Amanda
Honestamente, todos necesitamos tener un par de reuniones y discutir muchas cosas. En este momento no hay fechas ni giras, pero espero que en un futuro cercano las cosas se resuelvan y podamos promocionar el nuevo álbum. Estamos muy agradecidos y abrumados con el apoyo que ha brindado este álbum. Haremos todo lo posible para asegurarnos de que los fanáticos estén satisfechos, ya sea que se muestre o al menos alguna mercancía especial que podamos hacer para poner en línea.
