LASTING MAZE is a Brazilian melodic metal band formed in 2014, composing songs about the human mind, psychology, science, movies, games, as well as human feelings.

In 2016 the group released “Silent Spring”, their first EP, featuring six tracks and paying homage to the book “Silent Spring” written by the scientist and marine biologist Rachel Carson. In the following years the band performed at several festivals, being welcomed by rock and metal fans, and also by japanese music ones, which allowed them to share the stage with the renowned Japanese singer and composer Miyazaki Ayumi.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic that hit the world in 2020, LASTING MAZE worked hard on new compositions, played at online festivals, released videos and the singles “To The Wolves” and “Thunder”, a song that carries the name of the upcoming EP, and brings a reflection on fear and the need to understand it in order to move forward, finding peace in the midst of the storm.

On April 23, 2021, “Thunder” will be released on all digital platforms, the group's second EP, featuring the three previous singles and two unreleased tracks. The effort shows a new approach and maturity of LASTING MAZE, with influences from European heavy metal and a positive message to the listener, showing that it is possible to face your fears and challenges with patience, wisdom and holding your head high.

Keyboards that set the scene from the beginning of the track, guitars with heavy and hard chords, with a symphonic, gothic and melodic style, Grazy's voice pushes the scale quite a bit that keeps the track in a forceful way and with a guitar solo with a cut epic and rhythmic.

Greatest Sin

A hard musical entrance, with a high scale, there are regular guitar changes and tempos, a track with a more alternative line of voices, presence of guitar arrangements, a bit of rock and with a touch of the progressive style.

To The Wolves

An ambient beginning with soft keyboards that are later combined with more forceful arrangements and scales of guitars with heavy chords and the melodic and epic voice of Grazy!

Kosmos

Modern electronic start, drums with presence and the guitars do not wait, faster, melodic and with a greater rhythm throughout the song.

Destiny (Carry On)

We start with keyboards in the background, a soft atmosphere that is combined with strong and forceful chords, a more modern style within an intense atmosphere where the drums, guitar and the bass line give great support to this more melodic metal style.

My Recomendation

We have in the Thunder EP by Lasting Maze band a combination of melodic, modern metal, with a bit of symphonic style and with progressive touches mixed in a good way, especially the musical styles that we find here such as a bit of hard rock, in we can notice the high scales and hard chords and the alternative part a bit of indie rock, there are good riffs and on all tracks with varied durations. The Thunder EP with influences from European heavy metal, as well as its combinations with a positive message for the listener, showing that it is possible to face your fears and challenges with patience, wisdom and keeping your head up as it says in the lyrics of this release full of melody and well-established concepts.

The Voice

Grazy's beautiful voice is more than great, it has a lot of presence in each song, it prints the melodic, rhythmic part, clear, clean and with a high or low register as we notice it in the changes of rhythm or scales.

LASTING MAZE es una banda brasileña de metal melódico formada en 2014, que compone canciones sobre la mente humana, psicología, ciencia, películas, juegos y sentimientos humanos.

En 2016 el grupo lanzó “Silent Spring”, su primer EP, con seis temas y rindiendo homenaje al libro “Silent Spring” escrito por la científica y bióloga marina Rachel Carson. En los años siguientes la banda actuó en varios festivales, siendo recibidos por fanáticos del rock y metal, y también por la música japonesa, lo que les permitió compartir escenario con la reconocida cantante y compositora japonesa Miyazaki Ayumi.

A pesar de la pandemia de coronavirus que afectó al mundo en 2020, LASTING MAZE trabajó duro en nuevas composiciones, reproducidas en festivales en línea, publicaron videos y los sencillos "To The Wolves" y “Thunder”, canción que lleva el nombre del próximo EP, y que trae una reflexión sobre el miedo y la necesidad de entenderlo para seguir adelante, encontrar la paz en medio de la tormenta.

El 23 de abril de 2021, "Thunder" se lanzará en todas las plataformas digitales, el segundo EP del grupo, con los tres sencillos anteriores y dos pistas inéditas. Teclados que ambientan desde el inicio de la pista, guitarras con acordes pesados y duros, con un estilo sinfónico, gótico y melódico, la voz de Grazy empuja bastante la escala que mantiene la pista de manera contundente y con un solo de guitarra con un corte épico y rítmico.

Greatest Sin

Una entrada musical dura, con una escala alta, hay cambios de guitarra y tempos regulares, una pista con una línea de voces más alternativa, presencia de arreglos de guitarra, un poco de rock y con un toque del estilo progresivo.

To The Wolves

Un inicio ambiental con teclados suaves que después se combinan con arreglos y escalas más contundentes de guitarras con acordes pesados y la voz de Grazy melódica y épica!

Kosmos

Inicio electrónico moderno, batería con presencia y las guitarras no se hacen esperar, mas rápidas, melódicas y con un mayor ritmo toda la canción.

Destiny (Carry On)

Iniciamos con teclados de fondo, una atmosfera suave que se combina con acordes fuertes y contundentes, un estilo más moderno dentro de una atmosfera intensa donde la batería, guitarra y la línea del bajo le dan gran soporte a este estilo de metal más melódico.

Mi Recomendación

Tenemos en el EP Thunder de Lasting Maze band una combinación de metal melódico, moderno, con un poco de estilo sinfónico y con toques progresivos mezclados de una buena forma, sobre todo los estilos musicales que encontramos aquí como es un poco de hard rock, en las escalas altas y acordes duros los podemos notar y la parte alternativa un poco de indie rock, hay riffs buenos y en todas las pistas con variadas duraciones. El EP Thunder con influencias del heavy metal europeo, así como sus combinaciones con un mensaje positivo para el oyente, demostrando que es posible afrontar tus miedos y retos con paciencia, sabiduría y manteniendo la cabeza en alto tal como lo dice en la letra de este lanzamiento lleno de melodía y conceptos bien sentados.
