Founded in 2012 by Max Klein after waking up from a coma due to a fall from a cliff, Rockstar Frame has reached the current line-up in December 2017.

After winning a few contests, they signed with London-based Musicarchy Media to release critically acclaimed ‘Rock N Roll Mafia’ in 2015. Reviewed and featured on the likes of Revolver, Stencil Magazine, Black Velvet and Fireworks, Rockstar Frame embarked on a Eastern Europe mini tour, followed by several gigs in Italy and 5 shows in Russia that culminated in opening for Backyard Babies at Volta Club Moscow.

New vocalist is ex-Skylark’s Kiara Laetitia, also known for her project ‘Fight Now’ with David DeFeis from Virgin Steele and for being the first Italian female rocker to play Japan and China.

On December 15th 2017, they released controversial Christmas single “Christmas Rape”, a song about the lack of values in modern day Christmas and a metaphor on objectification of women. The single’s cover speaks for itself: a naked woman’s body is set up as a Christmas tree, with scarce decorations and a few scars simbolizing rape, shame and how women can still be treated these days.

Rockstar Frame’s musical roots go back to heavy metal, hard rock and classical music, and even though their sound has been defined as “New Guns N Roses with killer female vocals!”, they present a blend of hard rock with classical influences, catchy choruses and aggressive yet melodic vocals.

On June 15th the first album ‘Bulletproof’ with Kiara Laetitia on vocals will see the light. The album was produced by Max Klein at Temple Of Rock Studios.

¿How are you Kiara?

KL: I’m good thanks! Hope the same for you!

Darkzen: thank you too!

Tell us! some of you!! What has been your artistic career?

KL: The majority of the metal scene knows me for being the vocalist of symphonic rock band, Skylark, from 2003 till 2011. In 2013, I released a solo EP “Fight Now”, that was co-written and co-produced by myself and David DeFeis from Virgin Steele. In 2014, I founded Musicarchy Media, a rock/metal record label in London, and have worked on around 15 artists/releases in less then 3 years. I recently worked as a coreographer for the opera Madame Butterfly by Puccini, that was staged at the Teatro Civico in Tortona Italy. It was the first opera in 66 years in this city! June 15th, my 7th studio album, “Bulletproof”, will see the light. It’s around 45 minutes of hard rock music with classical and metal influences. I teamed up with Rockstar Frame for this album.

¿As you train your voice?

KL: Studying and constantly improving is part of my daily routine. I eat healthy (most of the times), try to workout every other day to improve my stamina, I practice meditation and yoga to improve my mental balance and breathing. I’m not a huge fan of scales, but I practice on them whenever I need to warm up my voice before a show or recordings. I’m constantly exploring diffeent techniques in singing and aim at learning from anyone.

¿What kind of musical influences do you have? and within the metal scene?

KL: My influences are really diverse! They go from death metal to classical music and opera, passing through pop, symphonic metal, hard rock, AOR. If I had to name my all time favorite artists, I’d say Evanescence, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Linkn Park, Bon Jovi, but I admire and respect so many more artists!

¿Which musical style is your favorite and why?

KL: Rock and metal. Always. Forever.

¿How did you meet with the Rockstar Frame?

KL: I’ve always followed Rockstar Frame since its inception, as vocal coach to their previous singer back in 2014/2015, and a bit later I was their record label and also manager. I’ve known Max (Klein, drummer and founder) since 2013 and I’ve always believed in the songs and concept he had created. I’ve been on tour with Rockstar Frame as their manager in Italy, Eastern Europe, Russia etc., so I’ve always been like the 6th element and part of the family. For reasons too long to explain here, between the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017, Max found himself with no band. In short, the other members were almost kicking Max out of his own band, that he founded way before they joined. Anyway, this was the scenario and Max at first asked me to become the new singer. I said no because of me being also the manager and not having enough time. So he started auditioning. After a while he told me that I was the most obvious choice for the band and that he wanted me (or something like that J)). After several months I said Yes.

Your álbum is good! ¿Can you talk more about “BULLETPROOF” of Rockstar Frame? ¿How was the production of this álbum?

KL: Thanks so much! So glad you liked it! It’s important to receive positive feedback on our work! This album is a statement on the band overcoming many difficulties. It has been written by different hands in the course of something like two years. Making this album was definitely not easy: some parts had already been written but we had to re-record them with the new members, we lost two guitar players, had a hard time finding the keyboard player that was the right fit as a musician and person (now we’re super happy with Sirio), I had back problems and couldn’t even record for a while, Max and Alex each had personal problems…the recipe for disaster! Hahaha But we held tight, didn’t give up and here we are. When we were talking about album title, we thought that “Bulletproof” sumed up our journey with this album and how we felt.

¿Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

KL: Inspiration for me comes from my life, my experiences. My lyrics are always very self-explanatory and criptic at the same time. There’s always a different way that you can interpret every single word I write. Words are very important to me. “Bulletproof” deals with the themes of lost love, betrayal, mental halth (a topic very dear to my heart), resilience, endurance. It’s a very obsure yet positive album.

¿What should have a cover and musical composition besides voice an album for you?

KL: A musical composition is a true journey to me. Music has the power and must take you places. I love it when there’s the beginning of the song, the beginning of the story which sets the tone for the whole composition, then a crescendo or a complete fall, a climax and release. Music can create all of this, no vocals needed.

¿What does mean ‘Rockstar Frame band’ to you?

KL: Rockstar Frame is a family.

¿What was it like to work with Rockstar Frame?

KL: As I mentioned, we had our difficulties and like in every family we don’t always get along, but the most important thing is working towards a commond goal, not giving up, set higher standards every time.

In this álbum, ¿Will there be a new video of some song in special?

KL: Yes! June 1st marks the release of the first vieo and single. “Luv Calamity” is the first single out of “Bulletproof” and is a short movie type of video. Let me just tell you that Alex and I had to learn using a katana (Japanese sword) for this video!

¿What surprises do you have for this year with the band?

KL: They wouldn’t be surprises if I told them! Haha What I can say is that we want to play live, but in a different way. Shooting other music videos is important to us as well, as we do believe in the power of images together with music. Also, we’re thinking about writing the follow up album already. Let’s say we don’t lack ideas…

Fundado en 2012 por Max Klein después de despertar de un coma debido a una caída desde un acantilado, Rockstar Frame alcanzó la alineación actual en diciembre de 2017.

Después de ganar algunos concursos, firmaron con Musicarchy Media, con sede en Londres, para lanzar el aclamado 'Rock N Roll Mafia' en 2015. Revisado y presentado en revistas como Revolver, Stencil Magazine, Black Velvet y Fireworks, Rockstar Frame se embarcó en un Mini tour de Europa, seguido de varios conciertos en Italia y 5 shows en Rusia que culminaron con la apertura de Backyard Babies en Volta Club Moscu.

La nueva vocalista es ex-Skylark's Kiara Laetitia, también conocida por su proyecto 'Fight Now' con David DeFeis de Virgin Steele y por ser la primera rockera italiana en tocar en Japón y China.

El 15 de diciembre de 2017, lanzaron el controvertido single navideño "Christmas Rape", una canción sobre la falta de valores en la Navidad moderna y una metáfora sobre la objetivación de las mujeres. La portada del single habla por sí misma: el cuerpo de una mujer desnuda está configurado como un árbol de Navidad, con escasas decoraciones y algunas cicatrices que simbolizan la violación, la vergüenza y cómo las mujeres todavía pueden ser tratadas en estos días.

Las raíces musicales de Rockstar Frame se remontan a heavy metal, hard rock y música clásica, y aunque su sonido se ha definido como "New Guns N Roses con voces femeninas asesinas", presentan una mezcla de hard rock con influencias clásicas, coros pegadizos y voces agresivas pero melódicas.

El 15 de junio, el primer álbum 'Bulletproof' con Kiara Laetitia en la voz verá la luz. El álbum fue producido por Max Klein en Temple Of Rock Studios.

¿Cómo estás Kiara?

KL: ¡Estoy bien, gracias! Espero lo mismo para ti!

¡Dinos! ¡¡Algo de ti!! ¿Cuál ha sido tu carrera artística?

KL: La mayoría de la escena del metal me conoce por ser la vocalista de la banda de rock sinfónico, Skylark, desde 2003 hasta 2011. En 2013, lancé un EP en solitario "Fight Now", que fue co-escrito y co-producido por mí mismo y David DeFeis de Virgin Steele. En 2014, fundé Musicarchy Media, una discográfica de rock / metal en Londres, y he trabajado en alrededor de 15 artistas / lanzamientos en menos de 3 años. Recientemente trabajé como coreógrafo para la ópera Madame Butterfly de Puccini, que se representó en el Teatro Cívico en Tortona, Italia. ¡Fue la primera ópera en 66 años en esta ciudad! El 15 de junio, mi séptimo álbum de estudio, "Bulletproof", verá la luz. Son alrededor de 45 minutos de música de rock duro con influencias clásicas y de metal. Me uní a Rockstar Frame para este álbum.

¿Cómo entrenas tu voz?

KL: Estudiar y mejorar constantemente es parte de mi rutina diaria. Como sano (la mayoría de las veces), intento entrenar día por medio para mejorar mi resistencia, practico meditación y yoga para mejorar mi equilibrio mental y la respiración. No soy un gran fanático de las básculas, pero practico con ellas cada vez que necesito calentar mi voz antes de un programa o grabaciones. Estoy constantemente explorando técnicas diferentes en el canto y apunto a aprender de cualquiera.

¿Qué tipo de influencias musicales tienes? y dentro de la escena del metal?

KL: ¡Mis influencias son realmente diversas! Pasan del death metal a la música clásica y la ópera, pasando por el pop, el metal sinfónico, el hard rock, AOR. Si tuviera que nombrar a mis artistas favoritos de todos los tiempos, diría que Evanescence, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Linkn Park, Bon Jovi, ¡pero admiro y respeto a tantos artistas más!

¿Qué estilo musical es tu favorito y por qué?

KL: Rock y metal. Siempre. Siempre.

¿Cómo te conociste con Rockstar Frame?

KL: Siempre he seguido a Rockstar Frame desde sus comienzos, como entrenador vocal de su anterior cantante en 2014/2015, y un poco más tarde fui su sello discográfico y también su manager. Conocí a Max (Klein, baterista y fundador) desde 2013 y siempre creí en las canciones y el concepto que había creado. Estuve de gira con Rockstar Frame como su manager en Italia, Europa del Este, Rusia, etc., así que siempre he sido el sexto elemento y parte de la familia. Por razones demasiado tiempo para explicar aquí, entre finales de 2016 y principios de 2017, Max se encontró sin banda. En resumen, los otros miembros casi echaron a Max de su propia banda, que él fundó mucho antes de unirse. De todos modos, este era el escenario y Max al principio me pidió que me convirtiera en el nuevo cantante. Dije que no porque yo también era el gerente y no tenía suficiente tiempo. Entonces comenzó a audicionar. Después de un tiempo me dijo que yo era la opción más obvia para la banda y que él me quería (o algo así :)). Después de varios meses, dije que sí.

Tu álbum es bueno! ¿Puedes hablar más sobre "BULLETPROOF" de Rockstar Frame? ¿Cómo fue la producción de este álbum?

KL: ¡Muchas gracias! ¡Así que te alegra que te haya gustado! ¡Es importante recibir comentarios positivos sobre nuestro trabajo! Este álbum es una declaración de la banda superando muchas dificultades. Ha sido escrito por diferentes manos en el transcurso de algo así como dos años. Hacer este álbum definitivamente no fue fácil: algunas partes ya habían sido escritas, pero tuvimos que volver a grabarlas con los nuevos miembros, perdimos dos guitarristas, tuvimos dificultades para encontrar al tecladista que era la persona adecuada como músico y persona (ahora estamos súper felices con Sirio), tuve problemas en la espalda y no pude grabar durante un tiempo, Max y Alex tuvieron problemas personales... ¡la receta para el desastre! Jajaja Pero nos mantuvimos firmes, no nos dimos por vencidos y aquí estamos. Cuando estábamos hablando sobre el título del álbum, pensamos que "Bulletproof" resumió nuestro viaje con este álbum y cómo nos sentimos.

¿Dónde encontraste la inspiración para las canciones y las letras?

KL: La inspiración para mí viene de mi vida, mis experiencias. Mis letras son siempre muy autoexplicativas y criptas al mismo tiempo. Siempre hay una forma diferente de interpretar cada palabra que escribo. Las palabras son muy importantes para mi "A prueba de balas" se ocupa de los temas del amor perdido, la traición, la salud mental (un tema muy querido para mi corazón), la resistencia, la resistencia. Es un álbum muy oscuro pero positivo.

¿Qué debería tener una portada y composición musical además de un álbum de voz para ti?

KL: Una composición musical es un verdadero viaje para mí. La música tiene el poder y debe llevarte a lugares. Me encanta cuando está el comienzo de la canción, el comienzo de la historia que establece el tono para toda la composición, luego un crescendo o una caída completa, un clímax y una liberación. La música puede crear todo esto, no se necesitan voces.

¿Qué significa 'Rockstar Frame' para ti?

KL: Rockstar Frame es una familia.

¿Cómo fue trabajar con Rockstar Frame?

KL: Como mencioné, tuvimos nuestras dificultades y como en todas las familias no siempre nos llevamos bien, pero lo más importante es trabajar hacia un objetivo común, no rendirnos, establecer estándares más altos en todo momento.

En este álbum, ¿habrá un nuevo video de alguna canción en especial?

KL: ¡Sí! Este 1 de junio marca el lanzamiento del primer video y single. "Luv Calamity" es el primer sencillo de "Bulletproof" y es un tipo de video corto. Déjame decirte que Alex y yo tuvimos que aprender a usar una katana (espada japonesa) para este video.

¿Qué sorpresas tienes para este año con la banda?

KL: ¡No serían sorpresas si les dijera! Jaja Lo que puedo decir es que queremos tocar en vivo, pero de una manera diferente. Grabar otros videos musicales también es importante para nosotros, ya que creemos en el poder de las imágenes junto con la música. Además, ya estamos pensando en escribir el álbum de seguimiento. Digamos que no nos faltan ideas...
