Fabiola Simac is a super beautiful combination of melancholic, progressive and deep sounds. From a very young age she began taking singing workshops and at age 14 when she began studying at the National School of Music with the violin and at the Free School of Music for violin, singing and piano.
Our Fabiola Simac has influences such as Camel, The Doors, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, Earth and fire, she is also the leader and vocal of the Progressive Rock band Meliora and this year she leaves us a single from her solo project, Solitude ! Which the Music, lyrics and direction was in charge of Fabiola Simac, the way of composing of her is very passionate, poetic and versatile!
Hi Fabiola! Thank you very much for this new opportunity to have you in this your space and home!
How have you been with all this quarantine in México?
Fabiola:
Is a pleasure to be here with you, thanks for the talk. Note that I cannot complain, I have not lacked work, my creativity has had good moments, I love being at home so I have also taken advantage of making many improvements and filling myself with plants.
What have you done in this last year in your musical growth?
Fabiola:
I dedicated myself to the release of Solitude, the second single in my solo career, I made an excellent team of friends and work to achieve the official video. I have also started to compose a lot.
In your daily life?
Fabiola:
I am very homely, so I also enjoy doing yoga, keeping my space beautiful, taking care of my plants and my dogs. In addition, I teach violin and singing, and that part is also very important.
Have your musical influences changed, have you acquired new tastes?
Fabiola:
I am always listening to new music, my ears always want more and more. I don't close myself to any genre, if it's pop and I like it then come on!
What happened to the Meliora band?
Fabiola:
Due to the pandemic, some members were faced with the difficult decision to seek income in another way, which was very time consuming… for that very reason the idea of having a rehearsal was impossible. Meliora is not dead, but she will have a long rest
What will happen in the following year?
Fabiola:
I really could not tell you, I would love for Meliora to gain strength again but not everything is in me. I miss the band especially when people tell us they want us back… they tell me a lot.
Tell us a bit about your new solo project, how is it going to this point?
Fabiola:
Now I am one hundred percent focused on that, on my own career. I am happy for the great reception of Solitude, because people share and support me. I'm going incredibly to be a low-audience genre.
About your new Solitude single, tell us about the inspiration you had to do the direction, lyrics and production? A question why you gave it that name?
Fabiola:
Solitude- Soledad… I was really having a difficult time when I sat down to compose and write this song, and the others that make up the album. For me it was an outlet, I never thought I would actually release these songs.
Did you participate for the musical creation?
Fabiola:
That's right, all the music and lyrics are mine… Throughout the album it has not only been me, Uvarigh Alvarado has also helped in the composition, but speaking of the last two singles that you already know, it has only been me.
About the Solitude video! It is excellent, it has a dark, mysterious atmosphere and from a passionate point of view, is this true?
Fabiola:
Totally, I am happy because I managed to convey what I was looking for, really in the video there are not many elements, everything is black or red. My projection is merely loneliness, that feeling that makes us feel in limbo.
Until now you have 2 singles, do you have a third single in mind?
Fabiola:
Of course, I am working on the third, although due to pandemic reasons it is not possible to advance as I want, but we are already working
You want to give us a little preview!
Fabiola:
I can tell you the name, “Aire sin Alas” will be the third single.
And when will the preparation or creation of a complete album begin?
Fabiola:
Less than what you imagine, it does not happen this year, but I no longer want to say approximate dates or months because, we return to the same thing, because of the situation that we live I cannot move forward as I really wish.
Have you thought about doing concerts via live stream?
Fabiola:
From now on, I think things have changed a bit in this regard.
I have not thought about it, you know, and I see that now there are many concerts online, it seems to me an excellent opportunity for others to do and connect with their audience, however, it is not what I am looking for now so I have had to reject some invitations, but I really want to keep creating, I don't want to lose focus.
For all our readers and your fans who are attentive to your releases, what do you want to tell us?
Fabiola:
That I love them, they are the best my bears, I appreciate all the support they give me in general.
Any collaboration with other Mexican or foreign bands, have you thought about this possibility?
Fabiola:
Yes, of course, there are some pending. I am open to the possibilities.
Anything else that you have not been told or want to share with us?
Fabiola:
That I thank all the media that have supported me, that it shows when they really want to support an artist and that they not only use it to fill a space that they have left over there, I mention this because it has already happened to me, and in particular they are means I prefer away from me. Fabiola Simac es una súper y bella combinación de sonidos melancólicos, progresivos y profundos. Desde muy pequeña comenzó a tomar talleres de canto y a los 14 años cuando comenzó a estudiar en la Escuela Nacional De Música con el violín y en la Escuela Libre de Música violín, canto y piano.
Nuestra Fabiola Simac tiene influencias como Camel, The Doors, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, Earth and fire, también es líder y vocal de la banda de Rock Progresivo Meliora y este año nos deja un sencillo de su proyecto como solista, Solitude! El cual la Música, letra y dirección corrió a cargo de Fabiola Simac, la forma de componer de ella es muy apasionada, poética y versátil!

¿Cómo has estado con toda esta cuarentena en México?
Fabiola:
Que gusto estar aquí con ustedes, gracias por la charla. Fíjate que no me puedo quejar, no me ha faltado trabajo, mi creatividad ha tenido buenos momentos, yo amo estar en casa así que he aprovechado además en hacer muchas mejoras y llenarme de plantas.
¿Qué has hecho en este último año en tu crecimiento musical?
Fabiola:
Me dediqué al lanzamiento de Solitude, segundo sencillo en mi carrera solista, me hice de un excelente equipo de amigos y de trabajo para lograr el video oficial. Me he puesto además a componer mucho.
¿En tu vida diaria?
Fabiola:
Yo soy muy hogareña, por lo que disfruto además de hacer yoga, de mantener mi espacio bello, de cuidar a mis plantas y a mis perros. Además, doy clases de violín y canto, y esa parte también es muy importante.
¿Tus influencias Musicales han cambiado, has adquiridos nuevos gustos?
Fabiola:
Siempre estoy escuchando música nueva, mis oídos siempre quieren más y más. ¡No me cierro a ningún género, si es pop y me gusta pues venga!
¿Qué paso con la banda Meliora?
Fabiola:
A causa de la pandemia, algunos integrantes se vieron en la difícil decisión de buscar ingresos de otro modo, el cual consume mucho su tiempo…por eso mismo la idea de tener un ensayo era imposible. Meliora no ha muerto, pero si tendrá un largo descanso
¿Qué pasara en el siguiente año?
Fabiola:
Realmente no sabría decirte, a mí me encantaría que Meliora tomara fuerza nuevamente pero no todo está en mí. Extraño a la banda sobre todo cuando la gente nos dice que nos quieren de vuelta…me lo dicen mucho.
Cuéntanos un poco de tu nuevo proyecto solista, ¿Cómo va hasta este punto?
Fabiola:
Ahora estoy cien por ciento enfocada en eso, en mi propia carrera. Estoy feliz por el gran recibimiento de Solitude, porque la gente comparte y me apoya. Voy increíblemente para ser un género de poca audiencia.
Sobre tu nuevo sencillo de Solitude, ¿cuéntanos sobre la inspiración que tuviste para hacer la dirección, letra y producción? ¿Una duda porque le pusiste ese nombre?
Fabiola:
Solitude- Soledad… Realmente estaba pasando momentos difíciles cuando me senté a componer y escribir esta canción, y las demás que conforman el disco. Para mí fue un desahogo, nunca pensé que realmente lanzaría estas canciones.
¿Participaste para la creación musical?
Fabiola:
Así es, toda la música y letras son mías…A lo largo del disco no solo he sido yo, Uvarigh Alvarado también ha ayudado en la composición, pero hablando de los dos últimos sencillos que ya conocen solo he sido yo.
¡Sobre el video de Solitude! Es excelente tiene una ambientación oscura, misteriosa y desde un punto de vista pasional, ¿dinos esto es cierto?
Fabiola:
Totalmente, estoy feliz por que logré transmitir lo que buscaba, realmente en el video no hay muchos elementos, todo es negro o rojo. Mi proyección es meramente la soledad, ese sentimiento que nos hace sentir en el limbo.
Hasta ahorita llevas 2 sencillos, ¿tienes pensado un tercer sencillo?
Fabiola:
Por supuesto, estoy trabajando en el tercero, aunque por motivos de pandemia no se puede avanzar como quiero, pero ya estamos trabajando
¡Quieres darnos un poco un avance!
Fabiola:
Puedo decirte el nombre, “Aire sin Alas” será el tercer sencillo.
¿Y cuándo comenzara la preparación o creación de un albúm completo?
Fabiola:
Menos de lo que imaginas, no pasa de este año, pero ya no quiero decir fechas o meses aproximados porque, volvemos a lo mismo, por la situación que se vive no puedo avanzar como realmente deseo.
¿Has pensado en hacer conciertos via live stream?
Fabiola:
De hoy en adelante, creo que las cosas han cambiado un poco en este aspecto.
No lo he pensado sabes, y veo que ahora hay muchísimos conciertos en línea, me parece una excelente oportunidad para que los demás hagan y se conecten con su público, sin embargo, no es lo que yo busco ahora por lo que he tenido que rechazar algunas invitaciones, pero es que realmente quiero seguir creando, no quiero perder el enfoque.
Para todos nuestros lectores y tus fans que están atentos a tus lanzamientos, ¿Qué nos quieres decir?
Fabiola:
Que los amo, son los mejores mis ositos, agradezco todo el apoyo que me dan en general.
Alguna colaboración con otras bandas mexicanas o extranjeras, ¿has pensado esta posibilidad?
Fabiola:
Si claro, por ahí hay algunas pendientes. Yo estoy abierta a las posibilidades.
¿Algo más que no te han comentado o quieras compartirnos?
Fabiola:
Que agradezco a todos los medios que me han apoyado, que se nota cuando realmente quieren apoyar a un artista y que no solo lo usan para rellenar un espacio que les sobra por ahí, menciono esto porque ya me ha pasado, y en lo particular son medios que prefiero lejos de mí. Agradezco de corazón al apoyo honesto y al espacio que también ustedes me dan.
