Greetings my friends! This time i had the opportunity of this interview with  New Zone is a Swedish of Alternative Symphonic Metal band.

- Hello, thank you. Glad to do this!

 

Who are you! New Zone band!

 

-We are a alternative symphonic metal band from Sweden. In the band, we have Måns Lögdlund on drums, Torgny Elgstrand on bass, Johan Rapp on lead guitar, Tim Vincent on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, and Nicole Willerton on vocals.

 

Tell us! about your new video ‘Breathe’!! How was the production?

-The video was recorded in different locations. The band shots were filmed in a hospital cellar corridor. The video was filmed by Marcus Eloff and Tim Vincent and fully edited by Nicole Willerton. We will release a behind-the-scenes video of the production of our music video on our YouTube page Friday 9th of March.

 

The song of the video ‘Breathe’ is part of your next álbum?

- Yes, the song Breathe is our first single from our upcoming album in its full production.

 

The next álbum will be conceptual style and rhythms like the same way of the Breathe song, or will it have a totally different style?

- Yes and no, each song has its own character and still remains within our sound.

 

What surprises do you have this 2018? besides this súper video of the song Breathe

- We’re glad you like it! We will be releasing more music and videos this year, so keep your eyes open.

 

Who is nicole willerton? Present yourself to us!

- Hello, I’m Nicole Willerton and I’m the singer of New Zone. I’m half Swedish/English and I live in Sweden. I write the songs in our band together with our rhythm guitarist Tim Vincent. Beside the band I work as a music teacher and vocal coach. I’m a big fan of creating videos and modelling/directing darker photography. These photos I mostly share on my instagram account, as well as videos of me singing.

 

How do you train your voice? Very nice voice!

- Thank you so much! Just like an athlete has to keep their body in a good condition I have to keep my voice going. First of all it’s important to think about voice care, for example drinking enough water, speaking with a good vocal technique and getting enough sleep. I constantly get new challenges vocally in the band which I have to practice for. Although, the most important thing about singing for me is the emotion. Therefor I always allow myself to get into the mood of the song, be creative when creating and recording my vocals.

 

What is the range of your voice that you have?

- Well, to begin with I am a mezzo soprano. A vocal range varies during the day but after my voice is fully warmed up I can go higher and feel more comfortable in all vocal techniques.

 

Who writes the lyrics of the song? Are you Nicole? or how is the style or process of writing?

Yes, in our upcoming debut album I have written all the lyrics, but of course in the future I’m open for letting the guys join in and come up with their lyrical ideas. When writing the songs we are usually captured by an emotion that we create into melody and later into a song. The lyrics often describes the story behind that emotion. Normally I will sing out loud and words will come naturally, I then shape these lyrical ideas into the final lyrics of the song.

 

Do you plan to tour or attend any festivals?

- Right now we are focusing on releasing more music and videos. However, we are planning to play live more during the summer and autumn.
 

What kind of influences you have within the metal scene, New Zone Band?

- We love so many bands and therefore we have a lot of influences. Therefore, our melodic metal music becomes alternative. We are actually very influenced by video game soundtracks.

- Hola gracias. Me alegro de hacer esto!

 

¡Quiénes son ustedes! New Zone band!

 

-Somos una banda alternativa de metal sinfónico de Suecia. En la banda, tenemos a Måns Lögdlund en la batería, Torgny Elgstrand en el bajo, Johan Rapp en la guitarra principal, Tim Vincent en la guitarra rítmica y coros, y Nicole Willerton en la voz.

 

¡Dinos! acerca de su nuevo video 'Breathe'!! ¿Cómo estuvo la producción?

 

-El video fue grabado en diferentes lugares. Las tomas de la banda fueron filmadas en el pasillo de una bodega de un hospital. El video fue filmado por Marcus Eloff y Tim Vincent y completamente editado por Nicole Willerton. Lanzaremos un video detrás de la escena de la producción de nuestro video musical en nuestra página de YouTube el viernes 9 de marzo.

 

¿La canción del video 'Breathe' es parte de tu próximo álbum?

 

- Sí, la canción Breathe es nuestro primer single de nuestro próximo álbum en su producción completa.

 

El próximo álbum será estilo conceptual y ritmos como el mismo estilo de la canción Breathe, ¿o tendrá un estilo totalmente diferente?

 

- Sí y no, cada canción tiene su propio carácter y aún permanece dentro de nuestro sonido.

 

¿Qué sorpresas tienes este 2018? además de este súper video de la canción Breathe

 

- ¡Estamos contentos de que te guste! Lanzaremos más música y videos este año, así que mantén tus ojos abiertos.

 

 

¿Quien es Nicole Willerton? ¡Preséntate para nosotros!

 

- Hola, soy Nicole Willerton y soy la cantante de New Zone. Soy media sueca / inglésa y vivo en Suecia. Escribo las canciones en nuestra banda junto con nuestro guitarrista rítmico Tim Vincent. Además de la banda, trabajo como profesora de música y entrenadora vocal. Soy un gran fan de la creación de videos y el modelado / dirección de fotografía más oscura. Estas fotos las comparto principalmente en mi cuenta de instagram, así como videos de mí cantando.

 

¿Cómo entrenas tu voz? Muy buena voz!

 

- ¡Muchas gracias! Al igual que un atleta tiene que mantener su cuerpo en buenas condiciones, debo mantener mi voz en movimiento. En primer lugar, es importante pensar en el cuidado de la voz, por ejemplo, beber suficiente agua, hablar con una buena técnica vocal y dormir lo suficiente. Constantemente recibo nuevos desafíos vocalmente en la banda para la que tengo que practicar. Aunque, lo más importante de cantar para mí es la emoción. Por lo tanto, siempre me permito entrar en el estado de ánimo de la canción, ser creativo al crear y grabar mi voz.

 

¿Cuál es el rango de tu voz que tienes?

 

- Bueno, para empezar, soy mezzo soprano. Un rango vocal varía durante el día, pero después de que mi voz se haya calentado por completo, puedo ir más alto y sentirme más cómodo en todas las técnicas vocales.

 

¿Quién escribe la letra de la canción? ¿Eres tu Nicole? o ¿cómo es el estilo o el proceso de escritura?

 

Sí, en nuestro próximo álbum de debut escribí todas las letras, pero por supuesto en el futuro estoy dispuesto a dejar que los chicos se unan y presenten sus ideas líricas. Al escribir las canciones usualmente somos capturados por una emoción que creamos en una melodía y luego en una canción. La letra a menudo describe la historia detrás de esa emoción. Normalmente voy a cantar en voz alta y las palabras saldrán naturalmente, luego plasmo estas ideas líricas en la letra final de la canción.

 

¿Planean visitar o asistir a algún festival?

 

- En este momento nos estamos centrando en lanzar más música y videos. Sin embargo, estamos planeando tocar en vivo más durante el verano y el otoño.

 

¿Qué tipo de influencias tienes dentro de la escena del metal, New Zone Band?

 

- Amamos muchas bandas y, por lo tanto, tenemos muchas influencias. Por lo tanto, nuestra música de metal melódico se convierte en alternativa. En realidad, estamos muy influenciados por las bandas sonoras de los videojuegos.
