Leading up to the release of their new EP "Dark Water" on March 26th, 2021, Edmonton, Canada's metalcore squadron Juliet Ruin is sharing their new lyric video for the third single "Fake Stigmata" via its premiere on New Noise Magazine, Featuring infectious soft-spoken melodic vocals with whiplashing djent riffs, "Fake Stigmata" entices fans to sit back and brace themselves for an anthemic experience that the band is offering up on their forthcoming four-track EP to follow their highly praised 2019 album "Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos".

"Fake Stigmata is our third and heaviest track from our Dark Water EP, it explores darker lyrical themes and grittier vocals and instrumentals."

Juliet Ruin's new EP "Dark Water" represents a step into a heavier domain for the band as they continue on with low-tuned guitars. The vocals on this record will certainly shock old fans and draw in new fans as frontwoman Jess’s work in the scream vocal area is apparent throughout as she raised the bar on the clean vocals as well with many pop diva-esque techniques.

"The listening experience we are going for is a hard-edged, but catchy experience with lyrics you can shout in anger, but also it leans positive on message." says the band.

The conception of the new recording was born out of the desire among the members to create a sound with what they consider the true lineup after having a current member miss out on the OSLAC album. Planning originally to just record one single for 2021 became a four-song EP as the ideas were just unceasing to them. This is the freshest possible material from the mind of Juliet Ruin with all songs written within a year. Fans familiar with the band's sound on previous releases will notice the evolution in a heavier direction.

Excellent heavy and rough chords from the beginning of the track, the perfect, clean and strong voice of Jess throughout the track, a dense and strong sound!

Cosmic Vertigo

The entrance is very melodic, alternating heaviness and speed, Jess's voice fits perfectly, especially near the end with those equally aggressive chords and drums! A low-key mid-track background riff with an equally explosive ending.

Fake Stigmata

A different track with a different heaviness, a little slower, with the same aggressiveness and strength that Jess alternates in a good way when changing the power of her voice.

Closing the EP in a heavy, melodic way with a slow and light rhythm, but as the song continues, moments with more force and with harder chords we can enjoy, and a great ending with a lot of force and darkness!

The band Juliet Ruin continues giving a demonstration of its continuous evolution with its musical ability, with this new EP Dark Water leaves us a power, strength and forcefulness in the chords that its guitars have, dense and dark sounds, we put aside a little the solos to give way more to the combination of musical instruments, between the guitars and drums they give you a powerful forcefulness with long bass musical scales or low guitars, the tempos are excellent between the music and the strong voice of Jess! A bit of the influence of the old Wildebeest Metal in a spectacular way, with energy, heaviness and a very pleasant darkness! The Voice

Jess's voice on this album is excellent, the combination between a clean voice and loud screams, full of aggressiveness, they fit between the chords and drums in hard and dark moments, it keeps the melodic and rhythmic part as many of the techniques of the pop singers and that gives Jess a lot of vocal versatility.

Antes del lanzamiento de su nuevo EP "Dark Water" el 26 de marzo de 2021, el escuadrón de metalcore de Edmonton, Canadá, Juliet Ruin compartirá su nuevo video con la letra del tercer sencillo "Fake Stigmata" a través de su estreno en la revista New Noise. "Fake Stigmata", con voces melódicas de voz suave y riffs de djent, atrae a los fans a sentarse y prepararse para una experiencia de himnos que la banda está ofreciendo en su próximo EP de cuatro pistas después de su muy elogiado álbum de 2019 "Old Stardust". Amor y caos ".

Excelentes acordes pesados y rudos desde el inicio del track, la voz de Jess perfecta, limpia y fuerte en toda la pista, un sonido denso y fuerte!

Cosmic Vertigo

La entrada es muy melódica, alternando pesadez y velocidad, la voz de Jess se acopla de manera perfecta sobre todo cerca del final con esos acordes y batería igual de agresivas! Un riff de fondo a la mitad de la pista discreto, con un final igual de explosivo.

Fake Stigmata

Una pista diferente con una pesadez diferente, un poco más lenta, con igual de agresividad y fuerza que lo alterna de buena manera Jess al cambiar la potencia de su voz.

Cerrando el EP de forma pesada, melódica a ritmo lento y ligero, pero conforme sigue la canción momentos con más fuerza y con acordes más duros podemos disfrutar, y un estupendo final con mucha fuerza y oscuridad!

Mi Recomendación

La banda Juliet Ruin sigue dando una demostración de su continua evolución con su habilidad musical, con este nuevo EP Dark Water nos deja una potencia, fuerza y contundencia en los acordes que tienen sus guitarras, sonidos densos y oscuros, dejamos a un lado un poco los solos para dar paso más a la combinación de instrumentos musicales, entre las guitarras y batería te dan una contundencia poderosa con escalas musicales graves largas o guitarras bajas, los tempos están excelentes entre la música y la fuerte voz de Jess! Un poco de la influencia del viejo Ñu Metal de forma espectacular, con energía, pesadez y una oscuridad muy agradable! Con un poco de orientación hacia una guitarra muy grave y con cierto grado de distorsión como lo hacen en el Djent.

Si tú eres fan de bandas como Jinjer, Infected Rain, The Agonist, Butcher Babies, Once Human or Killswitch Engage, Juliet Ruin te seducirá!

La Voz

La voz de Jess de este disco es excelente, la combinación entre voz limpia y de gritos con fuerza, llenos de agresividad se amoldan entre los acordes y batería en momentos duros y oscuros, guarda la parte melódica y rítmica como muchas de las técnicas de las cantantes de pop y eso le da mucha versatilidad vocal a Jess.
