Amoth is a heavy metal band with progressive elements from Helsinki, Finland. They are ready to unleash their latest and greatest album ”The Hour Of The Wolf” to the world. The production has taken a huge leap forward compared to previous albums. ”This is by far our best effort yet and all the pieces have come together to form a very strong album” comment’s the band’s guitarist and main songwriter Tomi Ihanamäki.

Amoth’s roots are strongly founded in 80’s heavy metal but the roots branch out in different directions. They bring elements from progressive rock, thrash and even jazz to the table.

The new album features Pekka Montin (Ensiferum) once again as the lead singer and for the first time there’s also keyboards on an Amoth album. You can expect insane vocals and virtuoso like playing from all members of the band! The songs are very diverse and can take sudden twists and turns to unexplored places.

Part two of the song with a melodious and emotional musical entrance continues with the same rhythm, but with chords, style, instrumental and relaxed drums, slow and long rhythms.

We Own The Night

​

Returning with the same style and energy with which they started the album, pronounced and sharp chords, the drums break the harmony a bit at first, but then it fits well. More progressive style we can find here.

It Ain't Over Yet

​

We continue with the energy, speed and euphoria, a track that borders a bit between heavy/thrash metal, with more power and chords.

Traces In The Snow

​

A total change of musical style, a bit of jazz perhaps with a greater passion charge and harmonies in the same frequency.

The song that gives the album its name to close the album, with a combined style of those previously shown on the album, a bit of thrash, heavy metal and progressive, loaded and sharp riffs.

My Recomendation

​

Amoth's new album is a bit of retro styles of Heavy metal with a bit of Thrash metal, progressive rhythms and scales combined, we find totally instrumental tracks with a jazz style, some sharp riffs with that eighties heavy metal and others more progressive, The Hour of the Wolf combines speed and rebelliousness as in "Alice" and the main theme at the end of the last song, and progressive style as in "Traces in the Snow" and "Wind Serenade". They have heavy and sharp riffs with that retro heavy metal style, so Amoth band shows us a different and own style and sound, combined with their 80's metal.

Amoth es una banda de heavy metal con elementos progresivos de Helsinki, Finlandia. Están listos para dar rienda suelta a su último y mejor álbum "The Hour Of The Wolf" al mundo. La producción ha dado un gran salto en comparación con los álbumes anteriores. "Este es, con mucho, nuestro mejor esfuerzo hasta el momento y todas las piezas se han unido para formar un álbum muy fuerte", comenta el guitarrista y compositor principal de la banda, Tomi Ihanamäki.

Las raíces de Amoth están fuertemente arraigadas en el heavy metal de los 80, pero las raíces se ramifican en diferentes direcciones. Traen a la mesa elementos del rock progresivo, el thrash e incluso el jazz.

​

El nuevo álbum presenta a Pekka Montin (Ensiferum) una vez más como cantante principal y, por primera vez, también hay teclados en un álbum de Amoth. ¡Puedes esperar voces locas y virtuosismo como tocar de todos los miembros de la banda! Volviendo con el mismo estilo y energía con el que iniciaron el albúm, acordes pronunciados y afilados, la batería rompe un poco la armonía en un inicio, pero después se acopla bien. Estilo más progresivo podemos encontrar aquí.

Mi Recomendación

​

El nuevo albúm de Amoth es un poco de estilos retro de Heavy metal con un poco de Thrash metal, ritmos y escalas progresivas combinadas, encontramos pistas totalmente instrumentales con un estilo de jazz, riffs unos afilados con ese heavy metal ochentero y otros más progresivos, The Hour of the Wolf combina velocidad y la rebeldía como en "Alice" y el tema principal al final en la última canción, y con estilo progresivo como en "Traces in the Snow" y "Wind Serenade". tienen riffs pesados y afilados con ese estilo del heavy metal retro, así que Amoth band nos muestra un estilo y sonido diferente y propio, combinado con su metal de los 80.
