Biography

In 2019 DARZAMAT announced a new album A Philosopher at the End of the Universe. The fans can expect another concept album, picking up the story right where its predecessor left off. Flauros, the main creative force behind the work, has revealed that this chapter takes place in London and that the lyrics for the album were penned by him and a long-time friend and writer, Jesion Kowal. Musically, the album opens a new era in DARZAMAT’s history—gone are the keyboards, up till now characteristically prominent. In their place the band inserts more diversified and complex guitar sounds.

Pre-production for A Philosopher at the End of the Universe was overseen by Maurycy ‘Mauser’ Stefanowicz of Vader fame; production and mixing were handled by one of the most talented Polish producers, Jarosław Baran.

Darzamat, is back! the Polish pioneers of Black / Goth Atmospheric Metal with an album under the philosophical and lyrical concept, of a classical gothic novel, written by the band leader, Rafal “Flauros” Góral, together with his poet, prose writer and linguist friend, Jesion Kowal.

Perhaps for those who will soon reach for music and videos, I will explain in a few sentences what the album is about.

One day Nera called and suggested, that the whole album should be named after the song "A Philosopher at the End of the Universe". It was interesting, because this idea had been on my mind for several days. So we quickly came to the conclusion that the title of the song opening the entire album perfectly binds what the lyrics contain, as well as the story itself. Yes, there is a story behind it... but this will be explained some other time.

The concept of "The Philosopher at the Ends of the Universe" is a vision of the figure that breaks all his/her barriers, crosses uncharted so far and above all- follows his/her inner voice. This person does not imitate anyone, he/she is not fixated on any patterns, but creates himself/herself and, not following the suggestions of others, follows his/her own path, to the boundaries of the universe ... if any boundaries exist at all...and if they do, these limits are created solely by our minds. Needless to say, our hero is not limited to the material world, on the contrary, it is more about discovering the spiritual world, following the path of higher dimensions. So, even though there is what is all around us, we still look at stars.This album is about fighting for yourself, searching, traveling, and not being afraid to stand firmly for what you believe in.

Nera finishes this album beautifully by singing one of my favorite passages, so let's end this interview with a quote that ends the album

“We awake full of fears that all we built Soon will fall apart again But the song never dies with the man Absorbing light we become light ourselves ".

Start with a single chord and a totally powerful drums at constant pace! Powerful combination of the voices of Flauros and Nera! The Renovated and with the powerful and dark style of Darzamat! Guitar riffs and solos now with greater relevance and strength.

Running in the Dark

Melodic, rhythmic start, strong chords and rhythm changes, perfect homogeneous beat, from slow to fast, the combination of voices makes it diverse and enveloping, strong riffs and loaded drums!

Thoughts to Weigh on Farewell Day*

Overwhelming entry and brutal changes in sound and rhythm, chords and power on that drums, an excellent track! Heavy, frivolous and heartbreaking vocals, a constant and dense drum double.

The Tearful Game

Funeral entrance, painful, heavy and dark, a constant drum double, which later at a slow pace joins the voices of Nera and Flauros, a melodic song full of overwhelming dark atmosphere!

The Sleeping Prophet*

Very melodic beginning, with chords at a rhythm and time, which later the drums and denser chords make a masterpiece! Heavy and aggressive! The combination of voices of both is devastating. Here the guitar chords with the greatest weight and power.

Clouds, Clouds, Darkening All

A melancholic and desolate beginning, they surprise us with a strong attack of drums, chords, and the combination of voices, clean and heartbreaking, with a melodic rhythm as the track continues and with a brief double bass drum.

The Great Blaze

The start motivated with the great voice of Nera, supported by strong and constant drums, with slow and heavy chords, excellent strong, dense tempo changes and those guitars giving powerful hits.

The Kaleidoscope of Retreat

Closing this dense and dark album by Darzamat, with a slow sound, sublime chords that accompany Nera's voice that we can hear longer, rhythm that later becomes more dense and melodic, drums and heavy guitars super charged!

My Recomendation

A return of the band with a strong, dense, dark album and with a musical style oriented a bit to the melodic, the drums stand out throughout the album with double bass progressions and blast beats that devastatingly resolve most of the tracks, guitar and bass chords resounding loudly between rhythm and scale changes, reminding us of who Darzamat is! With aggressive starts and changes of rhythm with perfect harmony and darkness, A Philosopher at the End of the Universe has an attractive and dense atmosphere, but we also have reflective and sublime parts as in the last track with Nera's unique stamp in what Many of us remember Neranature with a strong and aggressive ending with speed, without losing the continuity of the rest of the album.

The Voice

The combination of heartbreaking voices and clean voices from Flauros and Nera achieve a contrasting duet between the dark and light parts, which make some parts of the songs stand out at various points in the album.

En 2019 DARZAMAT anunció un nuevo álbum A Philosopher at the End of the Universe. Los fanáticos pueden esperar otro álbum conceptual, retomando la historia justo donde la dejó su predecesor. Flauros, la principal fuerza creativa detrás del trabajo, ha revelado que este capítulo tiene lugar en Londres y que la letra del álbum fue escrita por él y un amigo y escritor de mucho tiempo, Jesion Kowal. Musicalmente, el álbum abre una nueva era en la historia de DARZAMAT: se acabaron los teclados, hasta ahora característicamente prominentes. En su lugar, la banda inserta sonidos de guitarra más diversificados y complejos.

La preproducción de A Philosopher at the End of the Universe fue supervisada por Maurycy "Mauser" Stefanowicz de la fama de Vader; La producción y la mezcla estuvieron a cargo de uno de los productores polacos más talentosos, Jarosław Baran.

Quizás para aquellos que pronto buscarán música y vídeos, les explicaré en algunas frases de qué trata el álbum.

Un día, Nera llamó y sugirió que todo el álbum debería llevar el nombre de la canción " A Philosopher at the End of the Universe". Fue interesante, porque esta idea había estado en mi mente durante varios días. Así que rápidamente llegamos a la conclusión de que el título de la canción que abre todo el álbum une perfectamente lo que contienen las letras, así como la historia en sí. Sí, hay una historia detrás... pero esto se explicará en otro momento.

El concepto de "El filósofo en los confines del universo" es una visión de la figura que rompe todas sus barreras, cruza lo inexplorado hasta ahora y sobre todo sigue su voz interior. Esta persona no imita a nadie, no está obsesionado con ningún patrón, sino que se crea a sí mismo y, sin seguir las sugerencias de los demás, sigue su propio camino, hasta los límites del universo... si hay límites. Existen en absoluto... y si lo hacen, estos límites son creados únicamente por nuestras mentes. No hace falta decir que nuestro héroe no se limita al mundo material, al contrario, se trata más de descubrir el mundo espiritual, siguiendo el camino de dimensiones superiores. Entonces, a pesar de que hay lo que nos rodea, todavía miramos las estrellas. Este álbum trata de luchar por uno mismo, buscar, viajar y no tener miedo de defender firmemente lo que cree.

Nera termina este álbum maravillosamente cantando uno de mis pasajes favoritos, así que terminemos esta entrevista con una cita que termina el álbum:

"Nos despertamos llenos de miedo de que todo lo que construimos Pronto se derrumbará de nuevo Pero la canción nunca muere con el hombre Absorbiendo la luz nosotros mismos nos convertimos en luz".

Inicio melódico, rítmico, acordes fuertes y cambios de ritmo, perfecto compás homogéneo, de lentos a veloces, la combinación de voces lo hace diverso y envolvente, Riffs fuertes y batería cargada!

Thoughts to Weigh on Farewell Day*

Abrumadora entrada y cambios brutales en sonido y ritmo, acordes y potencia en esa batería, una pista excelente! Pesada, voces frívolas y desgarradoras, un doble de batería constante y denso.

The Tearful Game

Entrada fúnebre, dolorosa, pesada y oscura, un doble de batería constante, que posteriormente a ritmo lento se conjunta con las voces de Nera y Flauros, una canción melódica y llena de atmosfera oscura abrumadora!

The Sleeping Prophet*

Inicio muy melódico, con acordes a un ritmo y tiempo, que posteriormente la batería y acordes más densos hacen una pieza maestra! Pesada y agresiva! La combinación de voces de ambos es demoledora. Aquí los acordes de guitarra con mayor peso y potencia.

Clouds, Clouds, Darkening All

Un inicio melancólico y desolador, nos sorprenden con un ataque fuerte de batería, acordes, y la combinación de voces, limpias y desgarradoras, con un ritmo melódico conforme continua la pista y con doble bombo breve.

The Great Blaze

El Inicio motivado con la gran voz de Nera, apoyada de Batería fuerte y constante, con acordes lentos y pesados, cambios de tempo excelentes fuertes, densos y esas guitarras dando golpes potentes.

The Kaleidoscope of Retreat

Cerrando este denso y oscuro albúm de Darzamat, con sonido lento, acordes sublimes que acompañan la voz de Nera que podemos escuchar con mayor tiempo, ritmo que posteriormente se vuelve más denso y melódico, batería y guitarras pesadas súper cargadas!

Mi Recomendación

Un regreso de la banda con un albúm fuerte, denso, oscuro y con un estilo musical orientado un poco al melódico, la batería destaca en todo el albúm con progresiones de doble bombo y blast beats que resuelven de forma demoledora gran parte de las pistas, los acordes de guitarra y bajo resonando fuertemente entre cambios de ritmo y escala, lo que nos recuerda quien es Darzamat! Con arranques y cambios de ritmo con agresividad con perfecta armonía y oscuridad, A Philosopher at the End of the Universe tiene una atmósfera atrayente y densa, pero también tenemos partes reflexivas y sublimes como en la última pista con el sello único de Nera en lo que muchos recordamos de Neranature con un final fuerte y agresivo con velocidad, sin perder la continuidad del resto del albúm.

La Voz

La combinación de voces desgarradoras y voces limpias de Flauros y Nera logran un dueto contrastante entre la parte oscura y de luz, el cual hacen que se enaltezcan algunas partes de las canciones en varios momentos del disco.
