Hello my friend S Caedes, How are you? Thank you for this Interview with you!

Hello Jose! Like you already know, I'm always busy as fuck, but yeah, feeling fresh as a daisy. And happy to finally have the time to answer your questions.
 

 

Tell us about you! You're an amazing woman! Why you chose the Black Metal?

Thx for compliments. Well, I was discovering more and more different styles of Metal when I was 12/13… and in the age of 14, I get that in Black Metal I can find something special, what no other music can give me. It's just the feeling of knowing exactly where you stand with yourself. I'm strictly anti-religious and disgusted by humanity. It's not an empty phrase for me, it's just... me. Black Metal stands for the hate and aggression what I always had and still have inside. I can't put it better in words. When you're really into Black Metal, you'll know what I mean. Either you feel it or not.

 

 

How started your career as singer?

 

Since I discovered Black Metal I always wanted to be on stage and scream the hell out of my throat, but I didn't move my ass creating a band. End of 2012 the idea raised up to the very need beeing on stage. Ahephaïm and me started to search for musicians, who want to walk the same way. The idea of Humanitas Error Est was born. One year later we had our band completed and started to create the songs for the first album, which were released in January 2016. With the time, I got a lot of contacts and also met Déhà, who mastered the first album of Humanitas. With him I found my brother (he's not my brother in real, but it feels like). I always say: Sometimes things just happen. We both felt the need having a band together, but not that brutal as Humanitas is, more depressive/morbid (even if it's not the typical DSBM style). So we just did it. Now I've two active bands, Humanitas Error Est and Lebenssucht. I was also doing some guest-vocals in Withering Night (a Black Metal band of a friend of mine based in California) and Yhdarl (a Doom Black Metal band from Déhà). In addition I will do guest-vocals in Absolutus, a Black Metal band from Belgium. A lot to do, but it's exactly what I like to do. And I'm eager to find out what comes in future.

 

 

How was your vocal training? It is difficult for you to sing this style?

 

Well, in the beginning I just tried out what I can do with my voice like a bulldozer (btw, my training songs were “Sluts of hell” from Nattefrost and “Bleached Bones” from Marduk) and my throat was always scratching like hell after. It was not really the best way. With the time I had a look online, searching for instructions how I can use my voice correctly. I found a very helpful dvd named “the zen of screaming”. In addition I asked other vocalists, if they can give me advices. Both helped me a lot. I wouldn't say, that I already know by heart what I'm doing now, but I'm on a good way using my voice the best way possible, without speaking after a gig like an old fart, marked of too much consum of Whiskey and cigarettes. It's really great to discover your voice, trying out what is possible. When you ask me, if it's difficult… I wouldn't choose this word, cause I couldn't have fun anymore, when it would be only difficult for me to sing in this style. It's important for me, having a good balance. But sure, there are some passages in different songs, which requires the very last drop of air what my body can give, but I like this. I like to challenge myself to reach higher levels.
 

 

Who is S Caedes, on and off the stage? Always evil??? :D

S Caedes means: S (sadist) Caedes (carnage). Both words stand for my character.
 

The advantage of beeing on stage is, you can let out all your emotions in a such extreme way, what is simply not possible when you're at home. On stage I'm completely in rage, it's like a shot in my head, letting the audiance suck what comes out. Blood always brings me to this special state of mind. I'm a heavy blood fetishist (real blood, no fake shit!), it's a big passion of mine and I just love beeing covered in. When the music begins, I'm not thinking anymore, I'm just a 100% in the songs and always give my everything.

Off stage… well, I fought several years against all of these rule-based behaviors and finally succeed to be able to do in life what satisfy myself. Family 'n friends call me a bulldozer. Typicial Aries. I agree with that. I'm sadist. I like to torture slaves. I'm not beating around the bush with that. In addition, I'm also working as photographer and model. So, yeah I've quiet a lot to do, but it's exactly what makes me happy.

I don't care about beeing evil (whatever that means). I only care about my very needs.
 

 

For you what means the Black Metal? Like Music and Like lifestyle

 

This is something, what I've hard to put in words, cause it's a quiet personal thing. I'm strictly against any religion, I've my very own view about life and if I could, I would kill 90% of mankind. Black Metal is my life, as ridiculous as it maybe sounds to some readers, it's like that. It's my personal freedom, I can lay down and just be who I really am.

 

 

What kind of music has more influence on you? Black, Death, Doom or…

 

People who know me well often call me complicated concerning my taste of music. I don't agree with that, I just don't listen to every shit, that's the point. Music needs to be able to crawl in my head and stay there, squeeze out my inner self, fuck my brain an give me goosebump or the will to mosh like a psycho - I absolutely need an extreme input that I really like a band. Black Metal and DSBM definitely have the most influence on me, even if I also like e.g. Martial, Dark Ambient and Doom. It's always a matter of how I feel, when I'm listening to music. Sometimes I need really harsh, aggressive music and sometimes, let me put it this way, I need to be stitched by needles.
 

 

How do you all decided the name of the band? What does it mean for you the name of the band?

 

The bandname was the idea of our drummer, Ahephaïm. We wanted to have a very unique, not cliché-ridden name, what represents what we're standing for. We all feel deep hate and contempt against humanity. So we were searching in this context. There is the Latin expression “Errare Humanum Est” (to err is human). So we just switched it into “humanity is the error” and we had our name: Humanitas Error Est.

 

 

Humanitas Error Est, how would you best describe it?

 

Brutal Black Metal, right in the kisser.

 

 

How you were inspired to create these super songs?

 

For us it's important that the songs represent our most extreme feelings, which we can't express in the normal life (without going to jail). We just need to be who we are and the rest always fall into place.

 

 

Does one member write everything?

 

Ghoul and me are responsible for the lyrics. For the music, mainly Tsar and  Ahephaïm are creating all with input from Exil. And well, our bassist, he's the typical bassist and just say yes to all, hehe.

 

 

What have been some of your most memorable shows to date?

 

First I've to say, that I don't care about how big a venue is or if I'm playing in front of 500 or 50 people. What I absolutely enjoy is, when i feel, that the audience is 100% with us. The most memorable shows for me were the Underground Remains Festival,  in Switzerland the Night Of Blasphemy and also the Boarstream Festival, where we get that much positive feedback. Really mind-blowing moments.

 

 

Where are some places the band will be playing  in the coming months? In Europe, in your Country or?

 

In beginning of October we will play in Erfurt, Germany (again with Nocturnal Depression, this band is just amazing) and the week after we are on stage in Sofia, Bulgaria. We are always open minded to play in other countries. I really like to be on the road and like to “taste the flavour” beeing on stage abroad, spreading pandemia right in the face. And one day, we will also visit Mexico and I hope to see Jose in the front row, full of sweat, with neck pain from moshing like he never did before!

Humanitas Error Est recently made a video for the song Raping Religions, Are there plans to make any new video? Which song?

 

The video of “Raping Religions” was made out of live-material. Our guitarist Tsar was editing all within a few days. Our actual video is “Pain Feeder”,  Ahephaïm took care of it. All of us had separated video-shoots. In addition we used some video-sequences of me  torturing slaves, to incorporate some elements of the lyrics, which are basically sadistic.

 

 

For you, what is your opinion on the black metal scene today? In Germany?

 

Well, I would say, it's a big family. I found like-minded people, who are able to understand my point of view. Living in a society, which is made out of stress and hypocrisy, needs an antipole, to be able to breathe again. Most of the people have their daily routine with all these stupid rules (e.g. dress code at work). Black Metal helps (helped me) to break through (social) conventions, finding myself and staying true to myself. Black Metal can help to relieve the everydays negativity. One other positive fact is, that musicians are closer to their fans than e.g. in Pop music. Rarely you find Black Metal bands who have the “don't talk to me, I'm the big star attitude”. This I can say as a musician and as a fan. But, let's call a spade a spade , the world is flooded by fools, so also in the Black Metal scene there are people, who can talk with my arse.

For the scene in Germany, well maybe it's a bit more elitist than in other countries. The scene is very developed. We have a lot of festivals here, also labels and of course, a lot of bands. I often hear, that fans like it, when the lyrics are written in German, cause it sounds more violent. I can underline this, but I also really like to write in English.

Fact is, that I don't care from which country a band is. It's only about the music. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hola mi amiga S Caedes, ¿Cómo estás? Gracias por esta entrevista contigo!

 

Hola José! Como tú ya sabes, yo siempre estoy carajo ocupada, pero yeah! pero con una sensación fresca como una rosa. Y feliz de finalmente tener el tiempo para responder a tus preguntas.

 

¡Cuéntanos acerca de ti! Eres una mujer increíble! Por qué elegiste el Black Metal?

 

Gracias por los cumplidos. Bueno, yo estaba descubriendo más y más diferentes estilos de metal cuando tenía 12/13... y en la edad de 14 años, descubrí el Black Metal y en el encontré algo muy especial, lo que ninguna otra música pudo darme. Es el sentimiento de saber exactamente dónde te has encontrado consigo mismo. Soy estrictamente anti-religiosa y disgustada con la humanidad. Esta no es una frase vacía para mí, es sólo... yo. El Black Metal representa el odio y agresión lo que siempre he sentido en mi interior. No puedo decirlo mejor en otras palabras. Cuando tú estás realmente en el Black Metal, sabes lo que quiero decir.

 

¿Cómo comenzó tu carrera como cantante?

 

Desde que descubrí el Black Metal Siempre quise estar en el escenario y gritar a toda madre desde mi garganta, pero no tarde mucho en crear mi propia banda. A finales de 2012 pude empezar con el proyecto porque para mí ya era una necesidad de estar en el escenario. Ahephaïm y yo empezamos a buscar músicos, que quisieran recorrer el mismo camino. La idea de Humanitas Error Est había nacido. Un año más tarde tuvimos nuestra banda completó y comenzó a crear las canciones para el primer disco, que fue lanzado en enero del 2016. Con el tiempo, me fui haciendo de más contactos y así conocí a DEHA, quien masterizo el primer álbum de Humanitas.  En el encontré a un hermano (que no es mi hermano realmente, pero lo siento como uno). Siempre digo: A veces las cosas suceden. Ambos sentimos la necesidad de tener una banda juntos, pero no tan brutal como es Humanitas, más depresivo / mórbida (incluso si no es el típico estilo DSBM). Así que sólo lo hicimos. Ahora tengo dos bandas activas, Humanitas Error Est y Lebenssucht. También estaba haciendo algunas voces con Withering Nigth (una banda de Black Metal de un amigo mío con sede en California) y Yhdarl (una banda de Black Doom Metal de DEHA). Además voy a hacer voces en Absolutus, una banda de Black Metal de Bélgica. Hay mucho que hacer, pero es exactamente lo que me gusta hacer. Y estoy ansiosa por saber lo que viene en el futuro.

 

 

¿Cómo fue su formación vocal? Es difícil para usted para cantar este estilo?

 

Bueno, en el inicio yo solo trate lo que podía hacer con mi voz como un Bulldozer (Por cierto mis canciones de entrenamiento fueron 'Sluts of hell' de Nattefrost y 'Bleached Bones' de Marduk) y mi garganta estuvo siempre rasposa como después del infierno. Esa no fue la mejor manera. Con el tiempo yo tuve que buscar en línea instrucciones de cómo puedo usar mi voz correctamente. He encontrado un DVD muy útil llamado "el zen de gritar". Además le pregunté otros vocalistas, si me pueden dar consejos. Tanto me ayudó mucho. Yo no diría, que ya sé de memoria lo que estoy haciendo ahora, pero estoy en una buena manera de usar mi voz de la mejor manera posible sin hablar después de un concierto como un viejo pedo u ebrio con un marcado de un exceso de consumo de whisky y cigarrillos. Es realmente genial que para descubrir tu voz, de probar lo que es posible. Cuando me preguntas, si es difícil... yo no elegiría esta palabra, porque no podía divertirse más, cuando sería sólo lo difícil para mí cantar en este estilo. Es importante para mí tener un buen balance, pero seguro hay algunos pasajes en diferentes canciones, lo que requiere la última gota de aire lo que mi cuerpo puede dar, pero me gusta esto. Me gusta desafiarme a mí mismo para llegar a niveles más altos.

 

¿Quién es S Caedes, dentro y fuera del escenario? Siempre mala? :D

 

S Caedes significa: S (sádico) Caedes (carnicería). Ambas palabras significan mi personaje.

 

La ventaja de estar en el escenario es que se puede dejar salir todas tus emociones de una manera extrema, lo que simplemente no es posible cuando estás en casa. En el escenario estoy completamente en rabia, es como un tiro en la cabeza, dejando que la audiencia chupar lo que sale. La sangre siempre me lleva a este estado de ánimo especial. Soy un fetichista abundante de sangre (sangre de verdad, no es falsa!), Que es una gran pasión para mí y me encanta estar cubierta. Cuando la música comienza, no pienso más, yo soy sólo un 100% en las canciones y siempre dar mi todo.

 

Fuera del escenario... bueno, he luchado varios años contra todos estos comportamientos basados ​​en reglas y finalmente tener éxito para ser capaz de hacer lo mismo en la vida satisface. Familia y amigos me llaman una excavadora. Típica Aries. Estoy de acuerdo con eso. Soy sádica. Me gusta torturar a los esclavos. No estoy dándole vueltas al asunto con eso. Además, también estoy trabajando como fotógrafo y modelo. Así que, sí tengo mucho para hacer, pero es exactamente lo que me hace feliz.

 

No me importa acerca de ser mal (lo que significa). Sólo me importan mis mismas necesidades.

¿Para ti que significa el Black Metal? Al igual que la música y al igual que el estilo de vida

 

Esto es algo, que es difícil de expresar en palabras, porque es una cosa personal y tranquila. Estoy totalmente en contra de cualquier religión, no tengo mi propio punto de vista sobre la vida y si pudiera, mataría el 90% de la humanidad. El Black Metal es mi vida, tan ridículo como suena tal vez para algunos lectores, que es así. Es mi libertad personal, puedo acosté y sólo ser lo que realmente soy.

 

¿Qué tipo de música tiene más influencia en tu vida? Black, Death, Doom o…

 

La gente que me conoce bien a menudo me llaman complicada en cuanto a mi gusto de la música. No estoy de acuerdo con eso, sólo que no escucho cada mierda, ese es el punto. La música tiene que ser capaz de rastrear en mi cabeza y permanecer allí, exprimir mi ser interior, a la mierda mi cerebro me dará una piel de gallina o la voluntad de hacer slam como un psicotico - Yo necesito absolutamente una entrada extrema si me gusta mucho una banda. Black Metal y DSBM definitivamente tienen la mayor influencia en mí, aunque también me gusta, por ejemplo, Martial, Dark Ambient y el Doom. Es siempre una cuestión de cómo me siento, cuando estoy escuchando música. A veces necesito música realmente dura, agresiva y, a veces, déjame ponerlo de esta manera, yo necesito estar cosida con agujas.

 

¿Cómo se decidió el nombre de la banda? ¿Qué significa para ti el nombre?

 

El nombre de la banda fue la idea de nuestro baterista, Ahephaïm. Queríamos tener un nombre muy singular, no cliché-montado, que estamos de pie para lo que representa. Todos sentimos profundo odio y desprecio contra la humanidad. Así que estábamos buscando en este contexto. No es la expresión latina "Errare Humanum Est" (errar es humano). Así que acaba de cambiar en "la humanidad es el error" y tuvimos nuestro nombre: Humanitas Error Est.

 

Humanitas Error Est, ¿Cómo se describiría mejor?

 

Brutal Black Metal, justo en la boca.

 

¿Cómo se inspiraron para crear estas súper canciones?

 

Para nosotros es importante que las canciones representan nuestros sentimientos más extremos, que no podemos expresar en la vida normal (sin ir a la cárcel). Sólo tenemos que ser lo que somos y el resto siempre caerá en su lugar.

 

 

¿Tienen un miembro que escribe todo?

 

Ghoul y yo somos responsables de la letra. Para la música, sobre todo Tsar y Ahephaïm están creando todo con el aporte de Exil. Y así, nuestro bajista, que es el bajista típico y acaba de decir que sí a todo, jeje.

 

 

¿Cuáles han sido algunos de sus espectáculos más memorables hasta la fecha?

 

En primer lugar tengo que decir, que no me importa lo grande que es un lugar o si estoy jugando frente a 500 o 50 personas. Lo que me gusta es absolutamente, cuando me siento, que la audiencia está 100% con nosotros. Los espectáculos más memorables para mí fueron el metro Restos Festival, en Suiza la Noche de blasfemia y también el Festival Boarstream, donde conseguimos mucha retroalimentación positiva. Realmente momentos alucinantes.

 

¿Dónde son algunos lugares que la banda estará tocando en los próximos meses? En Europa, en su país o..?

 

En principios de octubre vamos a tocar en Erfurt, Alemania (de nuevo con Nocturnal Depression, esta banda es simplemente increíble) y la semana después de que estemos en el escenario en Sofía, Bulgaria. Estamos siempre abiertos de mente para tocar en otros países. Realmente me gusta estar en camino y me gusta "probar el sabor"  en el escenario en el extranjero, la difusión de la pandemia en la cara. Y un día, también vamos a visitar México y espero ver a José, en la primera fila, lleno de sudor, con dolor en el cuello del slam como nunca lo hizo antes!

 

Darkzen: muy bien! Okey y después vamos por un par de cervezas

 

Humanitas Error Est recientemente hizo un video para la canción ‘Violar a las Religiones’, ¿Hay planes de hacer algun nuevo video? ¿Cuál canción?

 

El video de "Violar a las Religiones" fue hecho de material en vivo. Nuestro guitarrista Tsar estuvo editando todo dentro de unos días. Nuestro vídeo actual es "Alimentador del Dolor", Ahephaïm se encargó de ello. Todos nosotros habíamos separado video-shots. Además hemos utilizado algún vídeo-secuencia de mí torturando esclavos, para incorporar algunos elementos de la Lírica, que son básicamente sádicas.

 

Para ti, ¿Cuál es tu opinión sobre la escena del Black Metal hoy en día? ¿En Alemania?

 

Bueno, yo diría, es una gran familia. Me encontré con personas de ideas afines, que son capaces de entender mi punto de vista. Vivir en una sociedad, que se hace fuera de la tensión y la hipocresía, necesita un polo opuesto, para poder respirar de nuevo. La mayoría de las personas tienen su rutina diaria con todas estas estúpidas reglas (por ejemplo, código de vestimenta en el trabajo). El Black Metal ayuda (me ayudó) para romper a través de convenciones (sociales), la búsqueda de mí misma y mantenerme fiel a mí misma. El Black Metal puede ayudar a aliviar la negatividad cada día. Otro hecho positivo es, que los músicos están más cerca de sus fans que, por ejemplo, en los de música Pop. Rara vez se puede encontrar bandas de Black Metal que tienen el "no puedes hablar conmigo, yo soy una gran estrella". Esto me puede decir como músico y como un fan. Pero, vamos a llamar las cosas por su nombre, el mundo está inundado por tontos, así también en la escena del Black Metal, hay personas que pueden hablar con mi culo.

 

Para la escena en Alemania, así tal vez es un poco más elitista que en otros países. La escena está muy desarrollada. Tenemos una gran cantidad de festivales aquí, también etiquetas y, por supuesto, una gran cantidad de bandas. A menudo escucho, que los fans les gustan, cuando las letras son escritas en alemán, porque suena más violenta. Puedo subrayar esto, pero también me gustaría escribir en inglés.

 

El hecho es que no me importa de qué país es una banda. Es sobre la música. Nada más y nada menos.

 

¿Cualquier otra cosa que le gustaría compartir mi amiga con sus fans?

 

Si lo desean, también echa un vistazo a mi otra banda Lebenssucht. Es más depresivo el Black Metal, siempre digo... con una morbilidad más profunda.
