Rioghan is a solo project performed by singer Rioghan Darcy. Rioghan was founded in 2019 and is based on Lapua, Finland. Rooted deeply in both gothic and progressive metal scenes, she sure should bring something interesting on the table. She started off in 2010 as a poetry and lyric writer, but in 2019 she finally wanted to add some more to the mix and decided to fleshen up some of her words with music. She teamed up with a few skilled songwriters and together they came up with a 4 song EP “Blackened Sky”, which will be released in early 2021. Live lineup is still in the making, but live shows will hopefully start in 2021 with the EP release.
Finnish Rioghan is set to release her debut EP Blackened Sky on March 10th 2021 via Inverse Records. First single Hollowness is released today.

Hollowness
Beautiful musical entrance, sublime, with long notes and slow piano rhythm, ambient and mysterious overture, which slowly increases in scale, accompanied throughout the song by Rioghan's beautiful voice, a lonely and melancholic atmosphere is perceived.
Enough
Progressive, natural sounds with a beautiful and powerful chord! Strong drums, well-matched beats and tempos, cool keyboards and choruses! a strong track with enough musical body.
Wither
A musical entrance with a fast breathing, clean and white chorus voices, sublime sounds with slow scale and long in time, discreet keyboards in the background, a beautiful progressive style also discreet and natural.
Corrupt
A beautiful instrumental, acoustic entry with a constant and clean chord, the voices become rich in sound and layers of deep emotion with a certain degree of rapt melancholy, throughout the track he narrates us and takes us to the beat of his voice and with a guitar lonely that invades with nostalgia and peace.
My Recomendation
A simple and complex EP, complex in combination of instruments with the musical body based on Progressive Metal and strong as in the track Enough and in Wither, due to the characterization of the use of movements and in combination of the instrumental or melancholic part of the Goth in all the tracks, but with a different expression, sometimes to the beat of the music, the scales and others with Rioghan's own beautiful voice and the voices that accompany it in the background, we have a set of harmonies, melodies, melancholy with a beautiful progressive base!
The Voice
Rioghan's beautiful voice is soft and clear, her vibrato is soft and a little low, in all the songs we can hear her very clear, melodic, poetic and clear voice!

Rioghan es un proyecto en solitario realizado por la cantante Rioghan Darcy. Rioghan se fundó en 2019 y tiene su sede en Lapua, Finlandia. Arraigada profundamente en escenas góticas y de metal progresivo, seguro que debería traer algo interesante sobre la mesa. Comenzó en 2010 como escritora de poesía y lírica, pero en 2019 finalmente quiso agregar un poco más a la mezcla y decidió enriquecer algunas de sus palabras con música. Se asoció con algunos compositores expertos y juntos crearon un EP de 4 canciones, "Blackened Sky", que se lanzará a principios de 2021. La programación en vivo aún está en proceso, pero los shows en vivo con suerte comenzarán en 2021 con el EP. lanzamiento.

Bella entrada musical, sublime, con notas largas y ritmo lento de piano, ambiental y misteriosa obertura, que lentamente aumenta en la escala, acompañada en toda la canción de la hermosa voz de Rioghan, se percibe una atmosfera solitaria y melancólica.
Enough
Sonidos progresivos, naturales con un bello y poderoso acorde! Batería contundente, compas y tempos muy bien conjuntados, teclados de fondo y coros geniales! una pista fuerte y con bastante cuerpo musical.
Wither
Una entrada musical con una respiración agitada, voces en coro limpias y blancas, sonidos sublimes con escala lenta y largas en tiempo, teclados discretos de fondo, un bello estilo progresivo también discreto y natural.
Corrupt
Una bella entrada instrumental, acústica con acorde constante y limpio, las voces se hacen ricas en sonoridad y capas de emoción profunda con un cierto grado de melancolía embelesada, en toda la pista nos narra y nos lleva al compás de su voz y con una guitarra solitaria que invade de nostalgia y paz.
Mi Recomendación
Un EP sencillo y complejo, complejo en combinación de instrumentos con el cuerpo musical con base al Metal Progresivo y fuerte como en la pista Enough y en Wither, por la caracterización del uso de movimientos y en combinación de la parte instrumental o melancólica del Goth en todas las pistas, pero con una expresión diferente, unas veces al compás de la música, las escalas y otras con la propia bella voz de Rioghan y las voces que la acompañan de fondo, tenemos un conjunto de armonías, melodías, melancolía con una bella base progresiva!
La Voz
La bella voz de Rioghan, es suave, limpia y clara, su vibrato es suave y un poco grave, en todas las canciones podemos escuchar muy clara, melódica, poética y nítida voz de ella!
