Lovebites, the winner of “the Best New Band” presented by the British metal magazine Metal Hammer at the Golden Gods Awards in 2018, five women hailing from Japan, with Official lead vocal, Miho on bass, Haruna on drums, Midori on guitar, and Miyako on guitar and keyboards, is undoubtedly one of the most promising and fastest rising stars of the Japanese heavy metal scene. Don’t be fooled by their looks and how they dress. Inspired by western metal masters in their songwriting and musical style, they know how to deliver masterfully crafted metal with full Official.

In 2015 exDestrose bandmates Miho and Haruna, who desired to form a new band, started a search for band members when by fate they met Asami, an experienced backing vocalist for Vamps and Uverworld with a tremendous vocal range and control. In 2016 they recruited Midori, exGekijo★METALicche guitarist, and finally Miyako, at the time playing guitar with a Drop Of Joker and 21g, initially in a part-time role and later becoming a full-time member.

Lovebites started working on their first mini-album at the end of 2016, joined by the Finnish engineering team of Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila known for their work with such bands as Nightwish and Children of Bodom. The Lovebites EP was the culmination of sessions from the period and became the band’s debut Official in May of 2017.

​

Their first full-length album Awakening From Abyss, featuring 12 intense and melodic non-stop power metal tracks with dynamic wide-ranging vocals, hit the streets in October, 2017 landing at #18 on Japan’s Official sales chart. Their first tour of Japan in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya in support of the album was sold out while the band also made Official eas club debut at The Underworld in Camden, London in November, 2017.

In April, 2018, Lovebites was invited to perform at “Vans Warped Tour Japan 2018 Presented by XFLAG” marking their first-ever festival performance. A new mini-album saw its Official in June, 2018. Entitled Battle Against Damnation engineered by the same Finnish team that will go onto working with the band for future recordings, they successfully toured their home country in its support.

One of Lovebites’ career highlights happened in August, 2018 when they performed to headbanging crowds at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Bloodstock Open Air in the UK. They went back to Europe in November touring in Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the UK, while also taking part in advance press and promotion for Clockwork Immortality, their sophomore full-length effort, released in December, 2018.

In early 2019, Lovebites embarked on a completely sold-out six-city tour of Japan in support of the second album and in March of the same year, they opened for Arch Enemy in Shanghai and Beijing, China. In June, they returned to Europe for the summer festival season, pleasing their existing and newly-acquired fans at Download Festival in the UK and Spain as well as at Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium. Once back in Japan, they toured the country during July and August in support of the their first live audio and video recordings, Daughters of the Dawn – Live in Tokyo 2019, released in July and ended the summer with an appearance at Summer Sonic, one of the most sought-after festivals in Japan. In November, the band was invited to tour the UK with power metal of DragonForce receiving raving reviews. In December, they were asked in Tokyo to open for Halestorm, for whom Lovebites has a special and the deepest respect as the Japanese band’s name is taken from one of Halestorm’s songs.

The year 2020 opened with the Official of Lovebites’ third album Electric Pentagram, packed all the way with powerful metal with all ladies shining in what they do, entering Japan’s Official sales chart in the Top 10.

We started with a super explosive attack of brutal Thrash metal and what speed! Haruna's drums WOW! And the guitars give it an incredible brutal style! Shake your head!! Horns up! A stormy super sonic assault is about to unleash!

Entrance loud and full of energy! The chords and keyboards of Myako are the most attention in this track, the beautiful and super voice of Asami and prints that amazing energy! Tempos and execution, melodic notes, rhythm and speed are still relentless!

Golden Destination

​

Musical entry of a classic heavy metal, riffs and melody in the Maiden style without a doubt, but with power and thunder with galloping rhythms, a glorious and very melodic destination!

Raise Some Hell

​

A start with a massive, powerful and fierce attack! And those riffs and chords that make my skin crap! Some fiery guitar solos from Midori and Myako, they are unleashed thunder and lightning They raise hell with a storm! Asami shines with that high pitched, deep vibrato that shatters!

Excellent entry, power metal with melody and a little slow rhythm, but very heavy chords! And that brutal Haruna drumming! Chunky and challenging riffs! the relaxed speed and beautiful harmony of Asami's voice.

When Destinies Align

And what energy geez! We continue with a lot of speed !!! A fiery and powerful Symphonic Metal Power! That gallop and drums destroy me !!! The chords and riffs at their highest and overflowing point !!! The Japanese Helloween !!!

A Frozen Serenade

​

A totally different entry! A bit of Progressive Rock, maybe the ballad, within the style and musical diversity of this super album, notes that are somewhat long in time, Asami's voice rises with a feeling of shock and more passionate emotion. Myako gives a very hot acoustic solo! I think this track is a bit different from the rest of the album, the piano adds depth and that bohemian acoustics. Those twin guitars and drums kill!

Dancing With The Devil

​

What power and energy goes on with this song, it has a lot of energy and embraces that rhythm of 80's Glam metal and a little bit of Hard Rock! With those heartbreaking riffs and Asami's voice!

Signs Of Deliverance

​

We return to the action Speed / Power Metal! With that European vibe and vibes of a classic power metal, speed, rhythm and super perfectly coordinated melody, Haruna destroys that drums !!!

Set The World On Fire

​

Excellent sound and atmosphere Thrashero !! That gallop at full speed! With strength and Fury !!! They have a German style thrash sensibility that will wreck your ears! Sodom hear this, heaviness and energy!

The Unbroken

​

My Recomendation

​

Without a doubt, more than one listener and fan of the Speed / Power Metal and Thrash Metal style will be fascinated by the display of energy, power and heaviness of the Lovebites album! Led by Asami's strong and beautiful soprano voice, a dual attack of guitar chords from Midori and Myako, and the rhythmic thunder of bassist Miho and to that we add powerful drummer Haruna they are unstoppable!

​

Lovebites will generate comparisons for their harmonic, melodic guitar chord rhythms, fast tempos and their powerful galloping bass lines but the ladies are back in this year 2020 with the third full length studio album, erupting like a heavy metal hurricane!

​

All the musical work is excellent! But Haruna's drum work is absolutely furious, surprising and forceful and we can hear that throughout the album !!! Don't stop with that energy and fury! Electric Pentagram's production is full of fury, strength and power! And that's just what you want in a metal album !! This album will exhaust you to the bone, there is no dull moment, so have a good drink of whiskey friends!

The Voice

​

Asami's fast-paced, powerful vocal vibrato is great! How it adapts to such sudden changes in rhythm and melody! Reaching very high tones and ranges in perfect condition! Her falsetto is phenomenal for the musical notes and musical style that Lovebites has!

Lovebites, ganadora de "la Mejor Banda Nueva" presentada por la revista británica de metal Metal Hammer en los Golden Gods Awards en 2018, cinco mujeres provenientes de Japón, con la voz principal de Asami, Miho al bajo, Haruna a la batería, Midori a la guitarra, y Miyako en guitarra y teclados, es sin duda una de las estrellas más prometedoras y de más rápido ascenso de la escena del heavy metal japonés. No te dejes engañar por su apariencia y cómo visten. Inspirados por los maestros del western metal en su composición y estilo musical, saben cómo entregar metal magistralmente elaborado y completo.

En 2015, las ex compañeras de banda de Destrose, Miho y Haruna, que deseaban formar una nueva banda, comenzaron la búsqueda de miembros de la banda cuando, por el destino, conocieron a Asami, una vocalista de respaldo con experiencia en Vamps y Uverworld con un tremendo rango vocal y control. En 2016 reclutaron a Midori, ex guitarrista de Gekijo ★ METALicche, y finalmente a Miyako, en ese momento tocando la guitarra con Drop Of Joker y 21g, inicialmente en un papel de medio tiempo y luego convirtiéndose en miembro de tiempo completo.

Entrada estrepitosa y llena de energía! Los acordes y teclados de Myako son los de mayor atención en esta pista, la bella y súper voz de Asami e imprime esa energía asombrosa!, Tempos y ejecución, notas melódicas el ritmo y velocidad siguen siendo implacables!

Golden Destination

​

Entrada musical de un clásico heavy metal, riffs y melodía al estilo Maiden sin duda, pero con poder y estruendo con ritmos galopantes, un destino glorioso y muy melódico!

Un inicio con un ataque masivo, potente y feroz! Y esos riffs y acordes que me ponen chinita la piel carajo! Unos ardientes solos de guitarra de Midori y Myako, ellas son un trueno y relámpago desatados ¡Levantan un infierno con una tormenta! Asami brilla con ese agudo y grave vibrato que destroza!

​

Excelente entrada, power metal con melodía y un poco lento el ritmo, pero unos acordes muy pesados! Y esa batería brutal de Haruna! Riffs gruesos y desafiantes! la velocidad relajada y una bella armonía de Asami en la voz.

When Destinies Align

​

Y que energía caray! Seguimos con mucha mucha Velocidad!!! Un ardiente y poderoso Power Sinfónico Metal! Ese galope y batería me destrozan!!! Los acordes y riffs en su punto más alto y desbordante!!! El Helloween Japonés!!!

​

A Frozen Serenade

​

Una entrada totalmente diferente! Un poco de Rock Progresivo quízas y quizás la balada, dentro del estilo y diversidad musical de lo que va de este súper albúm, notas algo largas en tiempo, la voz de Asami se eleva con una sensación de conmoción y emoción más apasionada. Myako da un solo acústico muy ardiente! Creo que esta pista musical es un poco diferente al resto del disco, el piano agrega profundidad y esa acústica bohemia. Esas guitarras gemelas y batería matan!

Dancing With The Devil

​

Que poder y energía siguen con esta canción, tiene mucha energía y abraza ese ritmo del Glam metal de los 80 y un poco de Hard Rock! Con esos riffs desgarradores y la voz de Asami!

​

Signs Of Deliverance

​

Volvemos a la acción Speed/Power Metal!  Con esa onda y vibraciones europeas de un power metal clásico, velocidad, ritmo y melodía súper perfectamente conjunta, Haruna destroza esa batería!!!

Excelente sonido y ambiente Thrashero!! Ese galope a toda velocidad! Con fuerza y Furia!!! Tiene una sensibilidad thrash con estilo alemán que te destrozara los oídos! Sodom escucha esto, pesadez y energía!

The Unbroken

Un ritmo con un estilo de jazz, melódico, rítmico y más movido y optimista para "The Unbroken" Otro estilo y ritmo musical combinando el Power Metal con la estampa de Lovebites! Esos riffs! Con un estilo y coqueteo!

Swan Song

​

Y cerrando este poderoso y pesado albúm! Con más de una hora el quinteto de estas bellas Samuráis siguen siendo enérgicas, contundentes y agresivas como lo era al comenzar el álbum! Power Metal dominante, Riffs ardientes y potentes, y una batería poderosa que no para! Con alta adrenalina y octanaje!

Mi Recomendación

​

Sin duda alguna a más de un oyente y fan del estilo Speed/Power Metal y Thrash Metal quedara fascinado por el despliegue de energía, poder y pesadez del albúm de Lovebites! Encabezado por la contundente y bella voz de soprano de Asami, un ataque dual de acordes de guitarra de Midori y Myako, y el rítmico trueno de la bajista Miho y a eso le agregamos la poderosa baterista Haruna son imparables!

​

 Lovebites generará comparaciones por su ritmos en acordes de guitarras armónicas, melódicas, tempos rápidos y sus líneas de bajo galopantes poderosas pero las damas regresan en este año 2020 con el tercer álbum de estudio de larga duración, estallando como un huracán de metales pesados!

​

Todo el trabajo musical es excelente! Pero el trabajo de batería de Haruna es absolutamente furioso, sorprendente y contundente y eso lo podemos escuchar en todo el albúm!!! No para con esa energía y furia!. La producción de Electric Pentagram está llena de furia, fuerza y poder! Y eso es justo lo que quieres en un álbum de metal!! Este albúm te agotara hasta los huesos, no hay ningún momento aburrido, así que un buen trago de whisky amigos!

La Voz

​

El poderoso vibrato vocal vertiginoso de Asami es genial! Como se adapta a los cambios tan bruscos en ritmo y melodía! Alcanzando tonos y rangos muy altos en perfecta condición! Su falsete es fenomenal para las notas musicales y estilo musical que tiene Lovebites!
