Wagakki Band (和 楽 器 バ ン ド) is a Japanese folk rock / folk metal group. With the singer Yūko Suzuhana and mixes traditional Japanese instruments, such as the tsugaru-jamisen (Japanese lute), the koto (Japanese harp), the shakuhachi (Japanese flute), the taiko and others, with wagakki (traditional Japanese instruments which means) and what they call "western" (rock).

 

His music video Tengaku (天 樂?) Was viewed more than 200,000 times in four days.3 Furthermore, the music video for the song Senbonzakura (千 本 桜?) Has received more than 70 million views on YouTube. In 2014, the Japan Expo invited the Wagakki Band to perform in France, but their first independent concert abroad took place in Taipei in 2015, but this year 2020 they leave us this super album! A beautiful ambient entry, smooth and Wagakki band style! Filled with unmistakable melody, rhythms and harmonics, Yuko's beautiful voice carries every musical note phenomenally, Japanese instruments and style make a great song.

 

Ignite

 

A louder input and faster notes and sounds combination! Slightly more forceful chords and a combination of speed, melody, soft sounds and a Rap style without a doubt, the combination of voices and Yuko's is very good!

A very different sound in this musical entry, faster, stronger and more powerful, chords, drums with the greatest possible presence, a direct and rough side that is not so emblematic and which we had not heard in the songs of the band before, the voice in combination with Yuko's fits within the style and scale.

 

Tokyo Sensation

 

A song with great rhythm and movements! Happy, melodic, and very catchy! we return with the traditional style of the band! A very very fast and fast song!

 

Origami-ism

 

Chords and melodic rhythms, keeping the style of the previous song, a style and sounds very typical of Japan! Yuko's voice sounds very tender at various times honestly, she has a good balance and timing between chords and traditional instruments (and several parts with the Shamisen), a short little guitar solo at the end.

And as a Bonus pack! A totally different song from the rest of the album! Very lively, catchy, rhythmic, melodic with a bit of Wagakki band-style swing ;) Yuko and Machiya's voices in full action throughout the track.

 

My Recomendation

 

A beautifully made album, harmonic, melodic, rich in sounds and traditional instruments from Japan such as Wagakki band is, among the most novel without a doubt was the collaboration with Amy Lee, which you can hear the difference in singing styles of both and that the result is very good! Also the rhythm and strength can be heard as in the Guernica song something stronger than what the band shows us in past albums, a complex and very harmonious album, completely full of traditional Folk, in addition each song is a short story that is unites in the whole album, that makes it a single continuous and unique album.

 

Something that must be noted is the balance that the album has in a certain way, when a powerful song passes later it follows a slow rhythm and then it will be followed again by another happy, catchy and harmonic song.

 

As well as some Symphonic Metal albums that have a distinctive stamp, and of European or American folk, Wagakki band is a harmony of sounds in the same way, because in various moments of the album there are several solos of many of the traditional instruments and of course guitar, showing the talent of each of the musicians.

 

The Voice

 

The voices of Yuko and Machiya are somewhat similar in musical scale, the vibrato or range in both voices are similar, although Yuko's beautiful voice reaches a very noticeable treble and that makes a difference that is why both voices fit perfectly, and above all a Machiya's brief Rap style! Now with Amy Lee's voice she gives a heavier color to the song and that gives a beautiful presence to that track where both singers collaborated!

Wagakki Band (和楽器バンド) es un grupo de folk rock / folk metal japonés. Con la cantante Yūko Suzuhana y mezcla instrumentos japoneses tradicionales, como el tsugaru-jamisen (laúd japonés), el koto(arpa japonesa), el shakuhachi (flauta japonesa), el taiko y otros, con wagakki (instrumentos tradicionales japoneses lo que significa) y lo que ellos denominan «western» (rock).​

 

Su vídeo musical Tengaku (天樂?) fue visto más de 200.000 veces en cuatro días.3​ Además, el vídeo musical de la canción Senbonzakura (千本桜?) ha recibido más de 70 millones de visitas en YouTube. ​En 2014, la Japan Expo invitó a Wagakki Band a actuar en Francia, pero su primer concierto independiente en el extranjero tuvo lugar en Taipéi en 2015, ¡pero este año 2020 nos dejan este súper album! Una bella entrada ambiental, ¡suave y estilo de Wagakki band! Llena de melodía, ritmos y armónicos inconfundibles, la bella voz de Yuko lleva de forma fenomenal cada nota musical, los instrumentos japoneses y estilo la hacen una gran canción.

 

Ignite

 

Un entrada más fuerte y combinación de notas más veloces y sonidos! Acordes ligeramente más contundentes y en combinación de velocidad, melodía, sonidos suaves y con un estilo de Rap sin duda, la combinación de voces y la de Yuko es muy buena! 

 

Reload dead

 

Un inicio con fuerza y posteriormente ritmos y melodía suave, con una ejecución de instrumentos tradicionales japoneses con una batería más contundente y los acordes con mayor presencia, las voces de Yuko y Machiya en armonía.

Bella entrada musical, melodía y sello japonés excelente, escala musical un poco más extensa, realzando la voz de Yuko, una pequeña y simbólica balada con teclados y acordes suaves sublimes.

Hermosos sonidos tradicionales de fondo, la voz de Yuko sublime y suave, íntimamente con los instrumentos y sobre todo con la Sakuhachi, una bella balada en todo su esplendor.

Una canción totalmente en combinación de dos estilos y voces, una parte con acordes fuertes/batería, por otra parte, los instrumentos japoneses distintivos, la voz de Yuko es la que lleva el contraste en la escala con la voz de Amy, Yuko con timbre más agudo que la voz de Amy, interesante canción! 

 

Guernica*

 

Un sonido muy distinto en esta entrada musical, más veloz, fuerte y potente, acordes, batería con la mayor presencia posible, un lado directo y rudo que no es tan emblemático y el cual no habíamos escuchado en las canciones de la banda con anterioridad, la voz en combinación con la de Yuko encaja dentro del estilo y escala.

 

Tokyo Sensation

 

Una canción con un ritmo y movimientos geniales! Alegre, melódica, ¡y muy pegadiza!  volvemos con el estilo tradicional de la banda! Una canción muy muy veloz y rápida!

 

Origami-ism

 

Acordes y ritmos melódicos, conservando el estilo de la canción anterior ¡un estilo y sonidos muy propios de Japón! La voz de Yuko se escucha muy tierna en varios momentos sinceramente, tiene un buen equilibrio y tiempo entre los acordes y los instrumentos tradicionales (y varias partes con el Shamisen), un pequeño y breve solo de guitarra al final.

 

Atena no nai Tegami*

 

Interesante cambio de sonido y melodía, notas largas, suaves, ritmos tranquilos y serenos, la voz de Yuko es sublime junto al Koto y susurrante que culmina de forma estupenda después de cada escala musical, tiene una carga emocional más fuerte que las anteriores, también tiene un solo de guitarra melancólico muy bueno!

 

Nichirin

 

Volvemos con una entrada totalmente con más Metal/Rock! Rápida, ese pedal de batería fuerte y veloz! Y medida que la canción continua se conjuntan de manera maravillosa con los instrumentos tradicionales con una escala armónica idónea!

 

Eclipse

 

Una entrada vocal de Yuko muy bella, acompañada de los instrumentos tradicionales junto a un acorde bajo y batería, seguimos escuchando la combinación de voces que danzan en armonía y un solo profundo y lleno de emoción.

 

Singin’ for…

 

Una entrada de la unión de varias voces de los integrantes de la banda muy emotiva! La bellísima voz de Yuko con fuerza, ¡armonía y alegría fenomenal!  Un cierre del albúm con el sello distintivo de Wagakki band! Con los Instrumentos tradicionales (Sakuhachi por ejemplo) y con el folk metal que los caracteriza!

 

Roki (Bonus Track, Edición Digital solamente)

 

Y como Bonus pack! Una canción totalmente muy distinta al resto del albúm! Muy animada, pegadiza, rítmica, melódica con un poco de swing al estilo de Wagakki band ;) las voces de Yuko y Machiya en completa acción en toda la pista. 

 

Mi Recomendación  

 

Un albúm bellamente hecho, armónico, melódico, rico en sonidos e instrumentos tradicionales de Japón tal cual es Wagakki band, entre lo más novedoso sin duda fue la colaboración con Amy Lee, el cual se puede escuchar la diferencia en estilos de canto de ambas y que el resultado es muy bueno! También el ritmo y fuerza se puede escuchar como en la canción de Guernica algo más fuerte a lo que la banda nos muestra en pasados albúm, un albúm complejo y muy armonioso, completamente lleno de Folk tradicional, además cada canción es una breve historia que se une en todo el albúm, eso lo hace ser un solo albúm continuo y único.

 

Algo que hay que notar es el equilibrio que tiene el albúm de cierta manera, cuando pasa una canción poderosa posteriormente sigue una lenta en ritmo y después será seguida nuevamente por otra canción alegre, pegadiza y armónica.

 

Así como algunos albúm de Metal Sinfónico que tienen un sello distintivo, y de folk europeos o americanos, Wagakki band es una armonía de sonidos de igual manera hecho, porque en varios momentos del albúm hay varios solos de muchos de los instrumentos tradicionales y claro de guitarra, mostrando el talento de cada uno de los músicos.

 

La Voz

 

Las voces de Yuko y Machiya son en escala musical algo semejantes, el vibrato o rango en ambas voces son parecidas, aunque la bella voz de Yuko alcanza un agudo muy notable y eso hace la diferencia por eso ambas voces encajan perfectamente, y sobre todo un breve estilo de Rap de Machiya! Ahora con la voz de Amy Lee le da un color más pesado a la canción y eso le da una presencia bellísima a esa pista donde ambas cantantes colaboraron!
