Greetings friends! Now I bring you an interview with my dear friend! Mary Zimmer gives us a great interview about her and  White Empress! 

 

Here I leave the Interview! 

 

Mary Zimmer is a vocalist from Madison, Wisconsin. She has been a singer and screamer in several bands in the genre of heavy metal. Mariy is a classically trained singer who has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He has also studied additional techniques to shout and sing with the Zen of Screaming creator, Melissa Cross. 

 

Mary is an experienced singing teacher who has over 9 years of experience teaching private lessons, training people in a variety of techniques.

Thank you very much for having me, I appreciate the interview!

 

Who is mary zimmer after Luna Mortis?

 

Mary Zimmer after Luna Mortis is pretty much a completely different person on so many levels.  I still make music, play metal and follow my passion 100%.  But, I’ve changed mentally, emotionally, physically, visually, vocally - it’s really incredible but I feel like have really improved all areas of my life since Luna Mortis ended and it’s fantastic to move forward.

 

Come back with the band Luna Mortis?

 

We did a short-lived reunion last year which was a ton of fun for the fans and also for me personally, but in the end it turned out to be a disappointment to the fans because we had to make it a much shorter reunion than originally promised or than perhaps what the fans were hoping for.  I still have people messaging me one year later hoping the reunion is still on. Sadly, it’s not.  It ended almost faster than it began.  I really tried to hold it together but the reunion only served to prove that many of the reasons we dissolved as a group in the first place were still there.  We couldn’t continue to function previously and the passage of time didn’t make it possible for us to function any better.  So, it was a failed experiment and I can pretty much guarantee we won’t try to reunite again.  I am very glad, however, that I got to perform  the songs a couple last times and to get to catch up with so many of our friends and supporters.  That was great.

 

Tell us about your experiences in the Belgian FMVF? It must be great to be there!

 

I absolutely loved performing at Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium with Eve’s Apple last October.  It was my first time attending and/or performing at the fest and I had a wonderful time.  The audience was so friendly and welcoming and it was an incredible honor and pleasure to share the stage with my Eve’s Apple sisters. 

 

What You’ve done all this time, tell us a bit? Mary Zimmer is a new Mary Zimmer or remains the same in this at this stage

 

White Empress has been my primary focus and I can’t wait to start unleashing all of the details upon you! We’ve put a lot of hard work and dedication and detail into all of the things coming this year. 

 

Tell us the concept of White Empress? what is the concept? 

 

White Empress is band based around the character of the White Empress herself. She’s empowering, and a feminine power in her own right. She represents the individual inner strength and power we all have within. Lyrically, I try to write empowering music in her image. The band is represented as the Royal Court of the Empress who all are characters and will have their own look and following as well to go along with the kick ass music they write.

 

How born the idea? you write the songs?

 

Paul Allender, our guitarist was the founding member of the band and came up with the original concept.  The songs are written with everyone’s input - everyone writes their own individual parts.  So, I write the vocal melodies and lyrics and all the other parts are written by the other band members.

 

The image of White Empress of EP, that mean?

 

The image of the White Empress on the EP cover is artwork by an artist, Miss Lakune.  It’s what we imagine the White Empress to look like and her first introduction to the world.

 

 

There will be a video? and when the album?

Yes, a video has already been filmed and we have very exciting details on that release coming soon! It is extremely EPIC and visually stunning! We have planned for a full-length album release at the end of 2014.

 

What do you think about the whole environmental issue facing the world?

 

Well, I have 3 degrees in varying areas of Renewable Energy and from that education I have learned that sustainability is necessary for human survival.  All environmental problems caused by man are a result of unsustainable processes, production etc.  The earth is a finite sphere with a finite amount of resources - a finite amount of matter and energy.  If we seek to live on a habitable planet we must find totally 100% sustainable ways to live.  Unsustainable practices shouldn’t even exist.  I am a huge renewable energy advocate, as it is the most logical, safe, sustainable, abundant means of powering humanity.

 

That’s what you exchange in the world? We have more problems than solutions not believe my friend

Saludos amigos! ahora les traigo una entrevista de mi querida amiga! Mary Zimmer nos da una excelente entrevista acerca de ella y de White Empress!

Mary Zimmer es un vocalista de Madison, Wisconsin. Ella ha sido un cantante y screamer en varias bandas en el género del heavy metal. Maríy es una cantante de formación clásica que posee una Licenciatura en Música de la Universidad de Wisconsin-Whitewater. También ha estudiado técnicas adicionales para gritar y cantar con el Zen del creador Screaming, Melissa Cross.

Quien es Mary Zimmer después de "Luna Mortis"?

 

Es una persona completamente diferente en muchos niveles. Aun hago música, toco metal y sigo mi pasión al 100 pero he cambiado mentalmente, emocionalmente, físicamente, visualmente y vocalmente.

Es algo increíble y siento que han mejorado todas las áreas de mi vida desde que Luna Mortis llego a su fin y es algo fantástico avanzar así.

 

Regresaras a Luna Mortis?

 

Hicimos una pequeña reunión en vivo el año pasado, fue divertido para los fans y también para mi, aunque al final resulto algo decepcionante para los fans el tener que acortar la presentación.

Aun hay gente que me manda mensajes con la esperanza de que la reunión siga en pie, tristemente no será así. Esto termino mas rápido de lo que comenzó.

Realmente tratamos de seguir juntos pero la reunión nos sirvió para mostrarnos que muchas de las razones por las cuales se disolvió el grupo, seguían ahí.

No pudimos funcionar y aunque el tiempo paso, no nos fue posible funcionar mejor. Fue un experimento fallido y puedo garantizar que no nos volveremos a reunir otra vez.

Como sea, me alegra que pude interpretar las canciones por ultima vez y que pude ponerme al corriente con muchos de mis amigos y seguidores. Eso fue genial.

 

Háblanos de tu experiencia en el festival en Bélgica, el Metal Female Voices Fest? Debe ser genial estar ahí.

 

Ame en lo absoluto presentarme en el festival con "The Eve's Apple" el pasado Octubre. Fue mi primer presentación en el festival y me la pase increíble.

La audiencia fue tan amistosa y cálida, fue un honor y un placer compartir el escenario con mis hermanas de "The Eve's Apple".

 

Que has hecho todo este tiempo? Cuéntanos un poco de Mary Zimmer? Es la misma en el escenario?

 

Me he enfocado en "White Empress" y no puedo esperar a soltar todos los detalles a ustedes. Hemos puesto mucho trabajo y dedicación en todas las cosas por venir este año.

 

Dinos cual es el concepto de "White Empress"?

 

Es una banda basada en el carácter de ella misma. Una emperatriz blanca, es poderosa y femenina. Ella representa la fuerza individual y el poder que todos tenemos dentro.

Líricamente, trato de escribir basándome en su imagen. La banda esta representada como la corte real de la emperatriz, todos son personajes que tendrán su propia mirada.

 

Como nació la idea? Tu escribes las canciones?

 

Paul Allender, nuestro guitarrista fue quien fundo la banda y trajo el concepto original, las canciones son escritas bajo la intervención de todos. Todos escriben sus partes individuales.

Yo escribo las melodías vocales y la letra, las otras partes son escritas por el resto de miembros de la banda.

 

La imagen en el EP de "White Empress" que significa?

 

La imagen en la portada de nuestro EP es un trabajo hecho por el artista Miss Lakune. Es como imaginamos que luciría la Emperatriz Blanca y su primer encuentro con el mundo.

 

Habrá algún video? Para cuando el álbum?

 

Si, el video ya fue grabado y muy pronto revelaremos mas detalles de su lanzamiento. Es extremadamente épico! y visualmente asombroso.

Hemos planeado lanzar un álbum completo a finales de 2014.

 

Que piensas sobre el problema ambiental que esta enfrentando el mundo actualmente?

 

Bien, tengo 3 títulos universitarios en varias áreas de energía renovable y gracias a mi educación he aprendido que la sustentabilidad es necesaria para la supervivencia del hombre.

Todos los problemas ambientales provocados por el hombre son resultado de un proceso insustentable. La tierra es una esfera finita con una cantidad de recursos, una finita cantidad de energía y problemas.

Si queremos vivir en un planeta habitable, tenemos que encontrar maneras sustentables de vivir. Soy una gran partidaria de la energía renovable, es lo mas lógico, seguro, sustentable y mejor manera de llenar de fuerza a la humanidad.

 

Es por eso que quieren hacer un cambio en el mundo? Tenemos mas problemas que soluciones, no crees?

 

Miren el video o lean el libro "Cradle to Cradle" o "Cuna a Cuna" y aprendan un poco sobre sustentabilidad y como hacer cambios en el mundo y el medio ambiente.
