What is Moyra, why is Moyra and what is it about?

You can associate Moyra with Greek mythology, and basically rightly so. Goddess or Goddesses of human destiny and destiny. This destination led to a place where it is time to accept the challenge and create something from scratch, something that will be remembered.

Now that you know why Moyra and what it really is, we will tell you briefly ... The project could be said that even a child of sleepless nights, years of difficulties and sacrifices spent on concert tours and rehearsal rooms, and finally looking for his Own style and your own music. All this contributed to the creation of a project in 2017 destined to show the world "something in its own way", charging people with energy that explodes with a strong vocal firecracker.

Speaking of Małgorzata "Moyra" ... it was her desire to leave something behind and, at the same time, develop in a style that accompanied her for years and developed with her, resulted in the initiative to create a band.

For years, Małgorzata fought on the front of one of the Wroclaw bands with their stubbornness and willingness to fight, winning with them the greatest competition in Lower Silesia in the "Musical Battle of Radio Wroclaw" in 2016. Known to one more audience Broadcast of the TV show "Rock Stars", where this time it wasn't much that the winner's laurel went with her ...

The different interspersed vocal techniques give the ensemble extraordinary character and power. Meticulously thought out songs are to please listeners of various currents of metal music. During the performances on stage, thanks to the image but also to the great charisma, the musicians leave a memorable trail in the minds of the public.

Hello! Margo! Thank you very much for having you in this interview!

Margo! Who is Margo? Tell us a little about yourself!

Margo hmmmm, the band founder 😉 a woman who has both feet on the ground, but also a dreamer following those dreams and make them real to achive. Passionate of metal music and singing in general. I started my journey with music when I was thirteen, first steps on stage when I was fifteen and profesional performing with bands when I was nineteen. It’s been a long way to go through to be where I’m now. I’ve met the world of music very well and people in it. I was getting my self-confidence for years, to eventually belief that I’m gonna make the band work. I took the risk and since 2017 Moyra is been working on metal music market by building its brand from foundations.

What are your musical influences? Only Melodic Death, Thrash or?

Margo

Yes, most of all Melodic Death Metal because it’s music with a lot of energy even with sport challenges on stage. Catchy melodies and shrill growl 😊this is what we love the most. Of course I’m not confined only to this genre. I listens to everything that gives me thrills 😊 for example I like vere much Parkway Drive and it’s not melodic death. Besides metal I value soul and blues music as well 😊 I'm not kidding 😊

Excellent! Combination

To have that super voice! What is your vocal training?

Margo

If we’re talking about learning to sing I graduated from a vocal school. When I sing I’m trying to use what I’ve learn but this is like with riding on a bike – you’ve done it once and you will remember for rest of life. I always warm up if I have time before the gig. Besides I don’t smoke and take some vitamins that keep my throat in a good condition

Musical style! Melodic Death Metal, what do you feel when singing so powerfully?

Margo

OUTSTANDING, I’m in different dimension! I’m 100 % myself then. I throw everything what bothers me out. It’s like a therapy that helps me to become more daring. Contact with the audience and its positive reactions are something really uplifting for all of us in the band. We just love it and our performances encourage us to act.

How was the band formed? and because Moyra's name exactly

Margo

The band was formed on my initiative as a succession of my previous achievements and based on music I’ve been always listening to. It was the right time, when I was courage enough to find musicians and create with them something that people will appreciate – us as a band and us as the music. Moyras are goddesses of fate. The name was about that I dared to go into the unknown and about what we currently do as a band. We direct our fate, and guiding Moyra is helping as with it all the time.

Tell us about the las songs like The Rising Sun, Fear of Life and MindHell is an Compilation EP "Threads of Fate" Will those songs be part of a full album?

Margo

No, this songs stay on the mini album. Currently we’re recording new EP. Right time for LP will come and it will be new material. People expect from us something new and we hope they will be pleased with the new stuff.

Shortly about each song. The Rising Sun was about to be a symbol of something new, the new like new start of Moyra’s way till now. I left my previous project to do something my way. To prove that I’m gonna make it – to me and to many others who claimed I wouldn't do it without them. So it is pretty important song for me 😉

Mindhell – was based on my considerations what people around us hide in their minds. You pass by someone and you don’t even know that he keeps some interesting, or worse, terrible secret. It’s fascinating but scary as well. I mean that among us live a lot of deviants and nothing is like it seems to be. To write that lyric I was inspired by movie “The Cell”.

Fear of Life is some sort of confession about myself and my fillings when something go wrong and you just have to live on. Fear of everyday life. In fact I’ve sorted a lot of thing is my head since then, and I reject the fear. If we let the fear in, it can destroy us, and we can destroy a lot. Especially life and dreams.

What does Moyra band present to us and proposes with its Melodic Death Metal?

Margo

Mainly Melodic Death Metal but we also bring modern things in. For example I don’t limit myself with just growling, like others very often in this genre, but I use clean vocals and screams either. That element is not so common in melodic death metal. It happens of course, for example Insomnium.

Would you like to do a duet with some other exponent of Death Metal? Who would it be? Female or Male Vocal

Margo

If only there would be an opportunity, why not? 😉 For sure it would be an interesting experience and something to be proud of. Being honest, I don’t know who I would like to sing with. I have some types: Angela Gossow, Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation -she would sing and I will growl, or our indigenous Nergal from Behemoth 😊

How was the musical acceptance of Moyra band in Poland?

Margo

Suprisingly positive. We still make progresses, play and have fun by doing it. We work hard all time cause that’s the only way to do something on this market. This is our passion and people can see it on our shows. The truth and honesty will always defend itself. If someone pretend on stage someone else and completely doesn’t understand what he plays sooner or later people will find out and get bored. Making metal music and Metal in general you’ve got to have in your heart and love it.

Will there be a new video or other single soon? some advance

Margo

Yes, when new EP is ready we’re making a video that won’t be a gigs compilation. We haven’t decided yet which song, but we have two types: ‘Wake the Power‘ or completely new, unplayed on gigs yet ‘Aim and Fire’ cause it sounds really promising.

What plans does Moyra band have for next year?

Margo

We have a lot of plans. For sure winter tour in Poland, eight Cities. We’re woriking on it. Few gigs before and some open airs later. We have some plans for playing in Czech Rep and Hungary. Main plan is to record new EP with a video and promote it. We will see how much we can do. May as much as possible and successfully.

Any tour in your country or europe in the next months? Some news for your fans?

As I mentioned Polish tour is planned on winter this year. On autumn 2020 Czech Rep and Hungary. We have to do some preparations before we go abroad that people would hear a little more about us. We're developing. It’s not so simple to go abroad without proper promotors and sure incomes from gigs.

¿Qué es Moyra, por qué es Moyra y de qué se trata?

Puede asociar Moyra con la mitología griega, y básicamente con razón. Diosa o Diosas del destino humano y el destino. Este destino llevó a un lugar donde es hora de aceptar el desafío y crear algo propio desde cero, algo que será recordado.

Ahora que sabes por qué Moyra y qué es en realidad, te diremos brevemente... El proyecto podría decirse que incluso un niño de noches sin dormir, años de dificultades y sacrificios gastados en giras de conciertos y salas de ensayo, y finalmente buscando su propio estilo y su propia música. Todo esto contribuyó a la creación de un proyecto en 2017 destinado a mostrarle al mundo "algo a su manera", cargando a las personas con energía que estalla con un fuerte petardo vocal.

Hablando de Małgorzata "Moyra" ... era su deseo de dejar algo atrás y, al mismo tiempo, desarrollarse en un estilo que la acompañó durante años y que se desarrolló con ella, dio como resultado la iniciativa de crear una banda.

Durante años, Małgorzata luchó en el frente de una de las bandas de Wroclaw con su terquedad y voluntad de luchar, ganando con ellos la mayor competencia en la Baja Silesia en la "Batalla musical de Radio Wroclaw" en 2016. Conocido por un público más amplio del programa de televisión "Rock Stars", donde esta vez no fue mucho que el laurel del ganador fuera con ella...

Las diferentes técnicas vocales intercaladas le dan al conjunto un carácter y poder extraordinarios. Las canciones meticulosamente pensadas son para complacer a los oyentes de diversas corrientes de la música metal. Durante las actuaciones en el escenario, gracias a la imagen pero también al gran carisma, los músicos dejan un rastro memorable en la mente del público.

¡Hola! Margo! ¡Muchas gracias por tenerte en esta entrevista!

Margo! Quien es Margo? ¡Cuéntanos un poco sobre ti!

Margo hmmmm, la fundadora de la banda, una mujer que tiene los dos pies en el suelo, pero también una soñadora que sigue esos sueños y los hace realidad para lograrlos. Apasionada de la música metal y el canto en general. Comencé mi viaje con la música cuando tenía trece años, los primeros pasos en el escenario cuando tenía quince años y el desempeño profesional con bandas cuando tenía diecinueve. Ha sido un largo camino para llegar a donde estoy ahora. He conocido muy bien el mundo de la música y a las personas que lo integran. Obtuve mi confianza en mí misma durante años, para finalmente creer que iba a hacer que la banda funcionara. Me arriesgué y desde 2017 Moyra ha estado trabajando en el mercado de la música metal construyendo su marca desde fundaciones.

¿Cuáles son tus influencias musicales? Sólo Melodic Death, Thrash o ?

Margo

Sí, sobre todo Melodic Death Metal porque es música con mucha energía incluso con desafíos deportivos en el escenario. Melodías pegadizas y gruñidos estridentes: esto es lo que más amamos. Por supuesto, no estoy limitada solo a este género. Escucho todo lo que me emociona, por ejemplo, me gusta mucho Parkway Drive y no es una muerte melódica. Además del metal, también valoro la música soul y blues 😊 No estoy bromeando 😊

¡Tener esa súper voz! ¿Cuál es tu entrenamiento vocal?

Margo

Si estamos hablando de aprender a cantar, me gradué de una escuela vocal. Cuando canto trato de usar lo que aprendí, pero esto es como andar en bicicleta: lo has hecho una vez y lo recordarás por el resto de tu vida. Siempre me caliento si tengo tiempo antes del concierto. Además, no fumo y tomo algunas vitaminas que mantienen mi garganta en buenas condiciones

¡Estilo de música! Death Metal melódico, ¿qué sientes cuando cantas con tanta fuerza?

Margo

¡EXCEPCIONAL, estoy en una dimensión diferente! Soy 100% yo misma entonces. Arrojo todo lo que me molesta. Es como una terapia que me ayuda a ser más atrevida. El contacto con el público y sus reacciones positivas son algo realmente estimulante para todos nosotros en la banda. Simplemente nos encanta y nuestras actuaciones nos animan a actuar.

¿Cómo se formó la banda? y porque el nombre de Moyra exactamente

Margo

La banda se formó por iniciativa propia como una sucesión de mis logros anteriores y basada en la música que siempre he estado escuchando. Fue el momento adecuado, cuando tuve el coraje suficiente para encontrar músicos y crear con ellos algo que la gente apreciaría: nosotros como banda y nosotros como música. Los moyras son diosas del destino. El nombre se refería a que me atreví a adentrarme en lo desconocido y a lo que hacemos actualmente como banda. Dirigimos nuestro destino, y guiar a Moyra está ayudando todo el tiempo.

Cuéntanos sobre las últimas canciones como The Rising Sun, Fear of Life y MindHell is a Compilation EP "Threads of Fate" ¿Serán esas canciones parte de un álbum completo?

Margo

No, estas canciones permanecen en el mini álbum. Actualmente estamos grabando un nuevo EP. Llegará el momento adecuado para LP y será material nuevo. La gente espera de nosotros algo nuevo y esperamos que estén contentos con las cosas nuevas.

Poco sobre cada canción. El Sol Naciente estaba a punto de ser un símbolo de algo nuevo, el nuevo comienzo de Moyra hasta ahora. Dejé mi proyecto anterior para hacer algo a mi manera. Para demostrar que voy a lograrlo, para mí y para muchos otros que afirmaron que no lo haría sin ellos. Así que es una canción muy importante para mí 😉

Mindhell:

Se basó en mis consideraciones sobre lo que las personas que nos rodean esconden en sus mentes. Pasas junto a alguien y ni siquiera sabes que él guarda algún secreto interesante, o peor, terrible. Es fascinante pero también aterrador. Quiero decir que entre nosotros vivimos muchos desviados y nada es lo que parece ser. Para escribir esa letra me inspiró la película "The Cell".

Miedo a la vida es una especie de confesión sobre mí y mis empastes cuando algo sale mal y solo tienes que vivir. Miedo a la vida cotidiana. De hecho, he resuelto muchas cosas desde entonces, y rechazo el miedo. Si dejamos entrar el miedo, puede destruirnos, y podemos destruir mucho. Especialmente la vida y los sueños.

¿Qué nos presenta y propone la banda Moyra con su Death Metal Melódico?

Margo

Principalmente el Death Metal melódico, pero también traemos cosas modernas. Por ejemplo, no me limito a gruñir, como otros muy a menudo en este género, pero también uso voces y gritos limpios. Ese elemento no es tan común en el death metal melódico. Sucede, por supuesto, por ejemplo, Insomnium.

¿Te gustaría hacer un dueto con algún otro exponente del Death Metal? ¿Quién podría ser? Vocal femenina o masculina

Margo

Si solo hubiera una oportunidad, ¿por qué no? 😉 Seguro que sería una experiencia interesante y algo de lo que estar orgulloso. Siendo sincero, no sé con quién me gustaría cantar. Tengo algunos tipos: Angela Gossow, Sharon den Adel de Within Temptation: cantaba y gruñiría, o nuestro Nergal indígena de Behemoth 😊

¿Cómo fue la aceptación musical de la banda Moyra en Polonia?

Margo

Sorprendentemente positivo. Todavía progresamos, jugamos y nos divertimos haciéndolo. Trabajamos duro todo el tiempo porque esa es la única forma de hacer algo en este mercado. Esta es nuestra pasión y la gente puede verla en nuestros programas. La verdad y la honestidad siempre se defenderán. Si alguien finge en el escenario a otra persona y no comprende por completo lo que toca tarde o temprano, la gente lo descubrirá y se aburrirá. Hacer música de metal y Metal en general debes tenerlo en tu corazón y amarlo.

¿Habrá un nuevo vídeo u otro sencillo pronto? algún avance

Margo

Sí, cuando el nuevo EP esté listo, estamos haciendo un vídeo que no será una compilación de conciertos. Todavía no hemos decidido qué canción, pero tenemos dos tipos: ‘Wake the Power‘ o completamente nuevo, sin tocar en conciertos todavía ‘Aim and Fire 'porque suena muy prometedor.

¿Qué planes tiene la banda Moyra para el próximo año?

Margo

Tenemos muchos planes Por supuesto gira de invierno en Polonia, ocho ciudades. Estamos trabajando en ello. Pocos conciertos antes y algunos al aire libre después. Tenemos algunos planes para tocar en Rep. Checa y Hungría. El plan principal es grabar un nuevo EP con un video y promocionarlo. Veremos cuánto podemos hacer. Puede tanto como sea posible y con éxito.

¿Alguna gira en su país o Europa en los próximos meses? ¿Alguna noticia para tus fans?

Como mencioné, la gira polaca está prevista para el invierno de este año. En otoño de 2020, República Checa y Hungría. Tenemos que hacer algunos preparativos antes de ir al extranjero para que la gente escuche un poco más sobre nosotros. Estamos desarrollando No es tan simple ir al extranjero sin los promotores adecuados y los ingresos seguros de los conciertos.
