Official Biography
Aeva Maurelle is a German metal vocalist, known as the former female singer of the alternative metal band Aeverium, and a guest vocalist for the symphonic metal bands Xandria, Kamelot among others. Her vocal register is soprano. Combine passion and aesthetics with mysterious fantasy! On stage, her gentle and thoughtful nature turns into pure and poignant ecstasy. Aeva loves extremes: she consciously combines the classic sounds of her pure soprano with the necessary slice of rock and roll.

Thank you very much!
How are you Aeva, how have you been in this Quarantine?
Aeva:
Well, to be honest, in the beginning I really enjoyed my free time. I can t remember when it was the last time, I had so much free time for myself. Natur means so much to me and I went walking every day on my own and discovered new hidden places. Loved these weeks where I was cooking and walking a lot. Of course I also began to struggle. My profession is singing. As a singer all concerts were canceled in two days for the rest of the year. It was a big shock like also for everybody else I guess. Happy me, I have also my own studio with privat singing students, so I taught online. It was fun! So I survived quarantine J But of course I miss concerts and festivals a lot!
Darkzen:
I imagine it's a radical change but I hope it's temporary
What happened to Aeva since your last band Aeverium?
Aeva:
I was singing shows with Xandria. It was a great pleasure to me. What a great time!
You are a very complete singer! You have a lot of talent and an exceptional voice! Tell us how did you get to this passion for Metal? If you have classical singing training
Aeva:
Thank you *smiling* :)
Well I really loved metal and rock music since I am a kid. But back in the days I never thought that I could be good enough to reach my goals as a singer in rock music. But I kept working on my crossover voice a lot. I was studying classical singing and during this period I was very focussed on opera music. Afer my studies I got a call if I like to come to an audition for a metal band (Aeverium). Here I got the chance to develop my skills and to combine singing and music styles. I learned a lot here and it was so much fun for me!
What do you like more Metal or Classical Music / Opera? Why would you go more and why?
Aeva:
Really both. I gues its very similar. I m sure Vivaldi for example was a rockstar back in the days.
Darkzen:
Of that I am very sure! All of them in their time as Beethoven
Have you composed or written the lyrics of any song?
Aeva:
Yes, I m cowriting and composing with my producer and composer colleagues and friends.
It is very enriching that you have this musical background! You have classical singing training, what is the vocal range you have? What type of Soprano do you consider yourself? Is training difficult and are you still doing it?
Aeva:
Yes I studied classical singing in the Netherlands and England. I m a lyrical soprano. I started with being a soubrette. Which means very high and light. My voice became a bit heavier in the last years. Three years ago I got a role in a theater in Germany singing also Queen of the Night and in the mornings I was learning the Xandria shows preparing for the upcoming tour. That was fun!
After my degrees I studied pop singing. I was going to many workshops and saw so many coaches around the world. I wanted to get better in switching faster between differnt voices settings and colours. One of the best experiences was in Los Angeles where I had a private singing class with the coach from Michael Jackson (Seth Riggs)
So YES you need to train your voice each day. Without having a lot of concerts now its quiete hard to stay in shape with your voice. But I try to work out my voice each day.
Darkzen:
WOOW! You have enough career and vocal training! And you had a class I think unique with Michael Jackson's trainer (Seth Riggs)
Power Metal, Progressive Metal, Opera Metal, Goth Metal What other style have you tried and what other would you like to sing?
Aeva:
My favourite is symphonic and Nu Metal. But I like different kinds of metal style and I m very open to it. I also liked to collaborate with Nachtblut. We recorded a duet ‘Einsam’ back in the years which was a totally differnt style for me.
Do you have a project with a Metal band or within Classical Music?
Aeva:
Yes I do have some projects, but it to early to talk about it. I have some collabortions going on with a greek composer. She is great. I sang four songs for her female metal album. I think the release will be in september or october. Further more I m collaborating with an italian composer. Lets see when we will publish it.
I d love to tell you more but everthing is different now since corona came…
Darkzen:
Enough projects on the doorstep! But we will have to wait
Have you thought about doing a duet with a female or male singer in the near future? With whom would you like!
Aeva:
There are so many great singers out there. Let me think about it. …… It would be fun to be on stage with Kissin Dynamite :-D And I d love to sing with Elize, Clementine and Simone :) Lets pray :)
After the quarantine is over, will there be any surprises from Aeva?
Aeva:
Yes :)
I founded my own band! Wohoooooooo *screaming*, I m so happy to finally talk about it. I ll be back again very soon!
We are still in the studio recording the Album. But next month my first single with be released. I m so so soooooo exicted if you guys will like my new things. It took a while for me to figure out how I can go on. It takes a lot of courage to go your own path and I alwyas felt I wasn t ready or able to rock everyhing on my own. I found great musicians and a producer team who are helping me a lot! I m very grateful to have these guys in my life!

I m also very grateful for all fans and follower out there. The response is still there even in these times where I didn t even know how to go on. All stayed with me. That means a lot to me! Thank you so much!

Aeva Maurelle es una vocalista alemana de metal, conocida como la ex cantante femenina de la banda de metal alternativo Aeverium, y vocalista invitada en directo de las bandas de metal sinfónico Xandria, Kamelot entre otras. Su registro vocal es soprano. ¡Combina pasión y estética con misteriosa fantasía! En el escenario, su naturaleza amable y reflexiva se convierte en éxtasis puro y conmovedor. Aeva:
¡Muchas gracias!
¿Cómo estás Aeva, cómo has estado en esta Cuarentena?
Aeva:
Bueno, para ser honesta, al principio disfruté mucho de mi tiempo libre. No recuerdo cuándo fue la última vez, tuve tanto tiempo libre para mí. La Naturaleza significa mucho para mí y caminaba todos los días por mi cuenta y descubría nuevos lugares escondidos. Me encantaron estas semanas en las que cocinaba y caminaba mucho. Por supuesto, también comencé a luchar. Mi profesión es cantar. Como cantante todos los conciertos fueron cancelados en dos días por el resto del año. Supongo que fue un gran impacto como también para todos los demás. Feliz de mí, también tengo mi propio estudio con estudiantes de canto privados, así que enseñé en línea. ¡Fue divertido! Así que sobreviví a la cuarentena J ¡Pero, por supuesto, extraño muchos conciertos y festivales!

¿Qué le pasó a Aeva desde tu última banda Aeverium?
Aeva:
Estaba cantando shows con Xandria. Fue un gran placer para mí. ¡Qué gran momento!
¡Eres una cantante muy completa! ¡Tienes mucho talento y una voz excepcional! Cuéntanos cómo llegaste a esta pasión por el Metal. Si tienes formación en canto clásico
Aeva:
Gracias * sonriendo * :)
Bueno, me encantaba el metal y el rock desde que era niña. Pero en aquellos tiempos nunca pensé que podría ser lo suficientemente buena para alcanzar mis metas como cantante de música rock. Pero seguí trabajando mucho en mi voz cruzada. Estaba estudiando canto clásico y durante este período estuve muy centrada en la música de ópera. Después de mis estudios recibí una llamada si me gustaría ir a una audición para una banda de metal (Aeverium). Aquí tuve la oportunidad de desarrollar mis habilidades y combinar estilos de canto y música. ¡Aprendí mucho aquí y fue muy divertido para mí!
¿Qué te gusta más Metal o Música Clásica / Opera? ¿Por cual te irías más y por qué?
Aeva:
Realmente ambos. Supongo que es muy similar. Estoy seguro de que Vivaldi, por ejemplo, era una estrella de rock en esos días.
Darkzen:
De eso estoy muy seguro! Todos ellos en su momento como Beethoven
¿Has compuesto o escrito la letra de alguna canción?
Aeva:
Sí, estoy coescribiendo y componiendo con mis colegas y amigos productores y compositores.
¡Es muy enriquecedor que tengas esta formación musical! Tienes formación en canto clásico,¿ cuál es el rango vocal que tienes? ¿Qué tipo de soprano te consideras? ¿Es difícil entrenar y lo sigues haciendo?
Aeva:
Sí, estudié canto clásico en Holanda e Inglaterra. Soy una soprano lírica. Empecé siendo un soubrette. Lo que significa muy alto y ligero. Mi voz se volvió un poco más pesada en los últimos años. Hace tres años conseguí un papel en un teatro en Alemania cantando también Queen of the Night y por las mañanas estaba aprendiendo los shows de Xandria preparándome para la próxima gira. ¡Eso fue divertido!
Después de mis estudios, estudié canto pop. Iba a muchos talleres y vi a tantos entrenadores en todo el mundo. Quería mejorar al cambiar más rápido entre diferentes configuraciones y colores de voces. Una de las mejores experiencias fue en Los Ángeles donde tuve una clase privada de canto con el entrenador de Michael Jackson (Seth Riggs) Entonces, SÍ, necesitas entrenar tu voz todos los días. Sin tener muchos conciertos, ahora es difícil mantenerse en forma con la voz. Pero trato de ejercitar mi voz todos los días.
Darkzen:

Power Metal, Progressive Metal, Opera Metal, Goth Metal ¿Qué otro estilo has probado y qué otro te gustaría cantar?
Aeva:
Mi favorito es sinfónico y Nu Metal. Pero me gustan los diferentes estilos de metal y estoy muy abierta a ello. También me gustó colaborar con Nachtblut. Grabamos un dueto "Einsam" en los años que era un estilo totalmente diferente para mí.
¿Tienes un proyecto con una banda de Metal o dentro de Música Clásica?
Aeva:
Sí, tengo algunos proyectos, pero es temprano para hablar de ello. Tengo algunas colaboraciones con una compositora griega. Ella es genial. Canté cuatro canciones para su álbum de metal femenino. Creo que el lanzamiento será en septiembre u octubre. Además, estoy colaborando con un compositor italiano. Veamos cuándo lo publicaremos.
Me encantaría contarte más, pero ahora todo es diferente desde que llegó el corona ...

Bastantes proyectos en puerta! Pero a esperar
¿Has pensado en hacer un dueto con una cantante o un cantante en un futuro próximo? ¡Con quien te gustaría!
Aeva:
Hay tantos grandes cantantes por ahí. Déjame pensar en ello. …… Sería divertido estar en el escenario con Kissin Dynamite :-D Y me encantaría cantar con Elize, Clementine y Simone :) Oremos :)
Después de que termine la cuarentena, ¿habrá sorpresas de Aeva?
Aeva:
Si :)
¡Fundé mi propia banda! Wohoooooooo * gritando * Estoy tan feliz de finalmente hablar de eso. ¡Volveré muy pronto!
Todavía estamos en el estudio grabando el álbum. Pero el próximo mes se lanzará mi primer single. Estoy tan emocionada si a ustedes les gustan mis cosas nuevas. Me tomó un tiempo descubrir cómo podía continuar. Se necesita mucho coraje para seguir tu propio camino y siempre sentí que no estaba lista ni era capaz de rockear todo por mi cuenta. ¡Encontré grandes músicos y un equipo de productores que me están ayudando mucho! ¡Estoy muy agradecida de tener a estos chicos en mi vida!
