Canada’s Ravenous have announced that their third release “Hubris” is coming out this year and the first single “Die 1000 Deaths” is out now, complete with both English and Japanese animated music videos.

 

“Hubris” is chock full of anthemic hits and this single may be the most fist-pumping one on the album. According to the band, the aim of the track is to give listeners the drive to break their limits and fight for every shred of glory in their lives - to always strive for the apex and conquer anything that stands in their way. Ravenous share their thoughts on the album:

 

“Take a journey with us to an arcade tower in Japan and experience the sensory overload equivalent to a Kaiju battle in an early-2000's anime. Die 1000 Deaths was Rav’s delirious and frantic output in the chemically imbalanced early days of the Covid-19 pandemic and underwent zero changes from its initial structure and tone. He based the lyrics off of Akuma - his favourite street fighter character - to properly represent the feeling and themes of the music. Try and stay calm as Akuma takes over your computer in the Die 1000 Deaths video.”

 

“Hubris” will be released on October 22, 2021 via Feast Beast Records for North America plus Europe and for Asia via Spiritual Beast with exclusive bonus tracks.

A symphonic, melodic, harmonious, fast and very rhythmic beginning, fast tempos in harmony with the voices, chords and drums.

We have a beat and line very similar to the previous song, with more daring harmony, melody and riffs with a modernist atmosphere.

 

Son of Storms

 

A little slower the beat of this song, a little stronger chords, we have the same melody and harmony line.

Melodic entry, with a similarity to the beat of the previous songs, more open riffs and like steel, maintaining speed and energy.

Opening with a fast and strong chord, chords in the same way, style and rhythm similar to the previous songs.

With a full speed entrance! Chords, challenging riffs, melodic without a doubt, now with a more remarkable speed, Nina's voice with excellent color and register!

A calmer sound, more relaxed chords, with a greater presence of forceful drums, melodic at all times.

Totally an acoustic beginning with excellent instruments that give it an atmosphere of medieval Europe with a bit of Folk metal to open with a fast, fast and harmonious beat.

 

Onwards & Upwards (ft. Lead Vocals by Mathias Blad of Falconer)

 

Overture with piano notes, with full vocal exposure by Mathias, we have the ballad that is present in many albums.

An atmospheric beginning of swamp to the song of birds and frogs, that little by little with chords a little more dense with an expression of drama and melody opens towards an epic and mystical power metal!

My Recomendation

 

An album with a rich and very representative Power metal, with neoclassical metal and with a lot of influence from Speed Metal. Power Metal in its maximum definition concentrates speed, melodic arrangements and instrumental technique with Symphonic elements, epic, melodic and theatrical passages, the voices have an operatic style more than anything, with an extensive elaboration and duration in some of them, strong chords, light, high at all times and the same musical line and style, the entire album with musical similarity, the bonus tracks are great and especially the song of 一瞬 千 撃 in its Japanese version, the elements of Japanese power metal are very representative in structure and speed with changes in tempos. For all those fans of this genre you will like it!

Ravenous de Canadá ha anunciado que su tercer lanzamiento "Hubris" saldrá este año y el primer sencillo "Die 1000 Deaths" ya está disponible, con videos musicales animados en inglés y japonés.

 

“Hubris” está repleto de éxitos himnos y este sencillo puede ser el más emocionante del álbum. Según la banda, el objetivo de la pista es dar a los oyentes el impulso para romper sus límites y luchar por cada pizca de gloria en sus vidas, para luchar siempre por la cima y conquistar todo lo que se interponga en su camino. Ravenous comparte sus pensamientos sobre el álbum:

 

“Viaja con nosotros a una torre de juegos en Japón y experimenta la sobrecarga sensorial equivalente a una batalla de Kaiju en un anime de principios de la década de 2000. Die 1000 Deaths fue la producción delirante y frenética de Rav en los primeros días químicamente desequilibrados de la pandemia Covid-19 y no experimentó ningún cambio desde su estructura y tono inicial. Basó la letra en Akuma, su personaje favorito de street fighter, para representar adecuadamente el sentimiento y los temas de la música. Intenta mantener la calma mientras Akuma toma el control de tu computadora en el video Die 1000 Deaths ".

Obertura con notas de piano, con total exposición vocal de Mathias, tenemos la balada que en muchos albúm se hace presencia.

Un inicio atmosférico de pantano al canto de aves y ranas, que poco a poco con acordes un poco más densos con una expresión de drama y melodía se abre hacia un power metal épico y místico!

Mi Recomendación

 

Un albúm con un rico y muy representativo Power metal, con metal neoclásico y con mucha influencia del Speed Metal. El Power Metal en su máxima definición concentra velocidad, arreglos melódicos y técnica instrumental con elementos Sinfónicos, pasajes épicos, melódicos y teatrales, las voces tienen un estilo operístico más que nada, con una extensa elaboración y duración en algunas de ellas, acordes fuertes, ligeros, en todo momento altos y una misma línea musical y estilo, todo el albúm con semejanza musical, los bonus tracks son geniales y sobre todo la canción de 一瞬千撃 en su versión japonesa, los elementos del power metal japonés son muy representativos en estructura y velocidad con los cambios de tempos. ¡Para todos aquellos fanáticos de este género les gustara!
