Husband and wife duo Crown of Madness started during the pandemic, with the intention of creating a melancholy atmosphere by using dissonant guitar chords, with riffs that interweave or “talk to each other”. The drumming is consistently heavy, but tasteful, adding a unique element to the technicality.

​

“The Void” is themed around the tragic human condition and experiencing trauma that often leads to growth. Drawing inspiration from the lore of Dark Souls, there are many themes of comparing the light to the darkness and how there is a balance within us all. “The Void” is something we all face as human beings; it is the evil in the world that can us take over, such as temptation, violence, and suicide. The band details more about the EP:

“We put a ton of energy and passion into producing this EP by ourselves, making this release an incredible feat for us as producer/musicians and as a couple. It’s amazing to look back on ourselves as teenagers who shared a love for metal, and now being extremely proud of the music we created together. As cliché as this may sound, we want people to love our music as much as we do. Taking on the process to self produce this EP was not an easy decision to make. Due to the overwhelming amount of knowledge a producer/engineer/mixer should know, we often doubted that we could ever achieve great production quality without going into a real studio. But we continued to work consistently, learning something about production day by day that eventually led to our decision to fully produce this EP. We want to continue to learn from this release and hone our skills as musicians and producers so our music can have better and better quality as time goes on.”

The band hopes that people will connect to the emotion and sadness of the music, as well as enjoy the diversity of each song. Beautiful in atmosphere and devastating in emotion, “The Void” is recommended for fans of Gorguts, Fallujah, and Black Crown Initiate.

Excellent devastating start, depressive atmosphere, with a piano in the background, with an assault of heavy and hard chords, long and dark tempos.

Eternal Feeding

​

A bit of speed, varied tempos and with power from the start, heavy chords and super dense drums, the gutturals with a good vocal register, dense and dark.

​

The Manipulated

​

A storm in that double drum pedal and heavy, dense, dark and brutal chords, a bit of black death metal combined in a harmonious way.

​

Anguish (feat. Kaija Krimson)

​

A bit of melancholy from the beginning with slow and somewhat long rhythms, there is harmony along with those gutturals that lighten up a bit, the double drum pedal doing the heavy part along with the guitar riffs.

False God’s Hymn (feat. Claine Lamb)

​

Closing in a brutal, harmonic way, with piano and with that unstoppable double pedal that completely makes the entire brutal and heavy part accompanied by chords that raise the power.

 

My Recomendation

 

The Crown of Madness EP has great quality and power, its original and homemade production give it a greater presence, with Connor Gordon on drums and Sunshine Schneider on vocals and guitar, we have varied tempos, slow and other fast, with double bass drumming at times everything is harmonic and other times not and that gives it a good style, sound and originality, musical influences within Death Metal have many, but with their unique touch with progression, composition and technique, there are frenetic passages and rhythms explosives that give chaos, darkness, and brutality to the structure with a volatile and varied environment. The EP has a lot of energy and passion! For you who are a fan of death metal, Crown of Madness will blow your ears!

El dúo de marido y mujer Crown of Madness nació durante la pandemia, con la intención de crear una atmósfera melancólica mediante el uso de acordes de guitarra disonantes, con riffs que se entrelazan o “hablan entre sí”. La percusión es consistentemente pesada, pero de buen gusto, agregando un elemento único al tecnicismo.

​

“The Void” tiene como tema la trágica condición humana y experimentar un trauma que a menudo conduce al crecimiento. Inspirándose en la tradición de Dark Souls, hay muchos temas de comparación de la luz con la oscuridad y cómo hay un equilibrio dentro de todos nosotros. “El Vacío” es algo que todos enfrentamos como seres humanos; es el mal en el mundo lo que podemos dominar, como la tentación, la violencia y el suicidio. La banda detalla más sobre el EP:

“Pusimos mucha energía y pasión en producir este EP nosotros mismos, haciendo de este lanzamiento una hazaña increíble para nosotros como productores/músicos y como pareja. Es increíble recordarnos a nosotros mismos como adolescentes que compartían el amor por el metal y ahora estamos extremadamente orgullosos de la música que creamos juntos. Aunque suene a cliché, queremos que la gente ame nuestra música tanto como nosotros. Asumir el proceso de producción propia de este EP no fue una decisión fácil de tomar.

​

Debido a la abrumadora cantidad de conocimientos que debe tener un productor/ingeniero/mezclador, a menudo dudábamos de que alguna vez pudiéramos lograr una gran calidad de producción sin ir a un estudio real. Pero continuamos trabajando constantemente, aprendiendo algo sobre la producción día a día que finalmente nos llevó a tomar la decisión de producir este EP por completo. Queremos seguir aprendiendo de este lanzamiento y perfeccionar nuestras habilidades como músicos y productores para que nuestra música pueda tener una calidad cada vez mejor a medida que pasa el tiempo”.

Excelente inicio devastador, atmosfera depresiva, con un piano de fondo, con un asalto de acordes pesados y duros, tempos largos y oscuros.

Un poco de velocidad, tempos variados y con potencia desde el inicio, acordes pesados y batería súper densa, los guturales con buen registro vocal, denso y oscuro.

​

Una tormenta en ese doble pedal de batería y acordes pesados, densos, oscuros y brutales, un poco de black death metal combinado de manera armoniosa.

Un poco de melancolía desde el principio con ritmos lentos y algo largos, hay armonía junto a esos guturales que se aclaran un poco, el doble pedal de batería haciendo la parte pesada junto a los riffs de guitarra.

Cerrando de manera brutal, armónica, con piano y con ese imparable doble pedal que hace totalmente toda la parte brutal y pesada acompañada de acordes que elevan la potencia.

Mi Recomendación  

 

El EP de Crown of Madness tiene gran calidad y potencia, su producción original y casera le dan mayor presencia, con Connor Gordon en la batería y Sunshine Schneider en la voz y guitarra, tenemos tempos variados, lentos y otros rápidos, con el doble bombo de batería por momentos es armónico todo y otros momentos no y eso le da buen estilo, sonido y originalidad, influencias musicales dentro del Death Metal tiene bastantes, pero con su toque único de ellos con progresión, composición y técnica, hay pasajes frenéticos y ritmos explosivos que le dan caos, oscuridad, y brutalidad a la estructura con ambiente volátil y variado. El EP tiene mucha energía y la pasión! Para ti que eres fan del Death metal, Crown of Madness te volara los oídos!
