Starting with their 2018 EP release “End of the World“, Ravenlight quickly

made their mark on the local scene and further afield with a number of shows

across Ireland, including an invite to support progressive metal legends

Evergrey in Dublin in March 2019.

 

At the start of 2020, Ravenlight went back to the studio and recorded their

debut album, Project Genesis, which was released in June 2020 across

Europe and Japan via Novus Records, gaining positive reviews and press

across the continent. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, live shows to

promote the album were postponed indefinitely, however instead of resting on

their laurels, Ravenlight returned once again to the studio to record their 2021

covers EP, “Intermission” alongside a series of music videos shot over various

lockdowns.

 

With restrictions easing, Ravenlight made their long awaited return to the

stage, with a delayed album launch show, a mere 21 months after the release

of the album, an appearance at the Siege of Limerick festival and shows

supporting Firewind, Cruachan and Stormzone across Ireland. Ravenlight

have made their return, stronger than ever on the lead up to their long awaited

second album, Immemorial.

 

Channelling their live energy into this new release, Immemorial features 10

tracks of hard hitting Power Metal showcasing a range of styles and themes,

from the reflective Spiral, to the grandiose Springtime Lament, this album

highlights the band's evolution and determination from the past few years.

My Recomendation

 

Starting the album in a melodic, harmonic and symphonic way with Masque of Red Death, Rebecca's beautiful voice softens the melody in an excellent way, chords and smooth and orchestral rhythm, with Reflections a softer and more melodic tone, maintaining the same musical line that the previous track, in The Painters Dream we have a beginning with keyboards and chords that go hand in hand with light and continuous drums, Rebecca's keyboards and voice are the most representative in this track, with Spirit of Life we have a fresh sound , with that phenomenal melodic part, slightly stronger chords and drums, her voice is a strong and crucial point in the tempos of each track, in Rain a beautiful beginning of keyboards that later chords and drums come together to give gallantry to the melodic and harmonic tones of the song with a soft and clean rhythm, with Left Behind a beautiful sound between atmospheric and keyboards, which little by little increase the rhythm and speed with that harmonic and melodic part that is very d It is distinctive in all the songs, we have a little more forcefulness in this song in fact and in Springtime Lament finally with the song a little longer in time, they start in a melodic way, keeping the style and rhythm maintained throughout the album, in fact the guitars sound heavier, and the speed of this song is a bit slower and more musically structured, so we can say "Immemorial" has beautifully done Symphonic Metal songs with that fresh and hard-hitting Power Metal with a variety of styles within of these sounds, but maintaining the same line at all times musically and in each track, with reflexive, melodic and symphonic themes.

 

Rebecca's beautiful voice stands out a lot, it gives a unique softness to each track on the album, maintaining that musical contrast when the chords and drums increase a little in force.

​

Comenzando con su lanzamiento EP de 2018 "End of the World", Ravenlight rápidamente

dejó su huella en la escena local y más allá con una serie de espectáculos en toda Irlanda, incluida una invitación para apoyar a las leyendas del metal progresivo

Evergrey en Dublín en marzo de 2019.

 

A principios de 2020, Ravenlight volvió al estudio y grabó su álbum debut, Project Genesis, que se lanzó en junio de 2020 en todo Europa y Japón a través de Novus Records, obteniendo críticas positivas y prensa en todo el continente. Mi  Recomendación

 

Iniciando el albúm de forma melodica, armónica y sinfónica con Masque of Red Death, la bella voz de Rebecca suaviza la melodía de excelente forma, acordes y ritmo suave y orquestal, con Reflections un tono más suave y melódico, manteniendo la misma línea musical que la pista anterior, en The Painters Dream tenemos un inicio con teclados y acordes que van de la mano con la batería ligera y continua, los teclados y la voz de Rebecca son los más representativos en esta pista, con Spirit of Life tenemos un sonido fresco, con esa parte melodica fenomenal, acordes un poco más fuertes y batería, la voz de ella es un punto fuerte y crucial en los tempos de cada pista, en Rain un bello inicio de teclados que posteriormente acordes y batería se unen para dar gallardía a los tonos melódicos y armónicos de la canción con ritmo suave y limpio, con Left Behind un bello sonido entre atmosférico y de teclados, que poco a poco aumentan el ritmo y velocidad con esa parte armónica y melodica que es muy distintivo en todas las canciones, tenemos un poco de mayor contundencia en esta canción de hecho y en Springtime Lament finalmente con la canción un poco más extensa en tiempo, arrancan de forma melodica, guardando el estilo y ritmo mantenido en todo el albúm, de hecho las guitarras suenan más pesadas, y la velocidad de esta canción es un poco más lenta y más estructurada musicalmente, así que podemos decir "Immemorial" tiene canciones con un Metal Sinfónico bellamente hecho con ese Power Metal fresco y contundente con una variedad de estilos dentro de estos sonidos, pero manteniendo la misma línea en todo momento musicalmente y en cada pista, con temas reflexivos, melódicos y sinfónicos.

 

La bella voz de Rebecca destaca mucho, le da una suavidad única a cada pista del albúm, manteniendo ese contraste musical cuando los acordes y batería aumentan un poco en contundencia.
