Witchcraft, the Russian gothic metal sensation, has just recently released it’s fourth full-length album, Cinema. By Liudmila Angel who also works as a model and write too.

How are you my friend?? Thank you for this new opportunity!!! with you!

LA: Hi, nice to hear it! Hope you missed me :)

​

Darkzen: Of Course!

​

Tell us what has happened with you all this time?

​

LA: Witchcraft relased a new album CINEMA, it includes 17 songs and also we released a new video “Requiem” and shot another one. It will be available soon. And also I will publish a new horror book with my friend Ann Kot as the second author.

​

How’s life in Moscow and Lyudmila in Moscow too?

​

LA: Very, very, very busy and always in a hurry! You need much time and much energy to stay here, a lot of people, high prices and nobody wants to know about your problems. You are just a pice of the biggest machine not a whole universe as you want to think about yourself.

​

Tell us about your new projects?

​

LA: Now I'm working on two new books, one with the second author Chris Wormwood. It is called “Into your skin”.

​

How was the production of the Cinema álbum? 

​

LA: We had been working on CINEMA for about 5 years. It is too long but we have a lot of difficulties and finally we've made a very good album. The sound of CINEMA is an achievement of Roman Arsafes. I think he is the best guitarist and a very good sound engineer. I suppose foreign listeners had already heard his band KARTIKEYA.

​

Did you write all the songs on the álbum?

​

LA: We made them with the Roman. He can take your idea and make it sound. So you need only tell him what you want or how you see your idea. Some pieces and one remix made Vladimir Osadchiy. And also some demos give us our ex-keyboardist Iliya Vieron. And we make songs with the base of these demos.

 

 

Your álbum Cinema. How were the reactions from fans on the álbum?

​

LA: They like it. But I want to tell you that foreign fans like it more and nevertheless that CINEMA is on Russian.

​

Tell us which song or whats songs are your favorites from Cinema?

​

LA: I like them all but the favorite are “Silent Hill”, “Gothic Bitch”, “V ob'jatijah temnoti” (In the arms of darkness) – dark and light versions, “Requiem”,  “Disforia”, “Ditja zary” (The afterglow child) and I like out Outro very much!

​

In the video ‘Реквием’ (Official Music Video)  your voice is extremely excellent and the combination of the male voice, in addition to the backdrop and orchestral music, tell us the emotion that you feel in this song? why did you choose that song for the video?

​

LA: Well, “Requiem for a Dream” is one of my favorite films. And I wanted to take an atmosphere of this movie and make something very special. I hope the goal had been reached. The male vocal is Dmitry Skidanenko. He is a very good singer. I like his voice very much. The shooting was in Crimea area. Very beautiful nature and the black sea. But the weather was a little bit cold. It was November.

Will there be another new video? Of the Cinema.

​

LA: Yes, for the dark version of “V ob'jatijah temnoti” (In the arms of darkness). We have shot some material for this new video. I hope soon we can release it. 

​

The artwork for Cinema differs from the usual artwork used, what is the meaning behind of artwork for Cinema?

​

LA: All the things have two sides – dark and light. You can see the light side on the cover of CINEMA but if you open this box you can see the dark one. And also the character hold a red thread in arms and the scissors and it means that you are a creator of your own destiny! And only you! The artist of cover is Ilona D. Veresk.

​

How about your live shows? I have seen the photos and they are excellent

​

LA: We don't take live shows so often as I want but I try to make them warm and much more energetic for people! I like concerts and I want to have them all over the world!

​

Anything else you want to share with us?

​

LA: I just want to tell that foreign journalist often ask much more interesting questions than the Russian. And it means that you interested in my person more than my native people. You want to know me and all about my creativity. And I want to be more open for people all over the world! Thank you so much!

Witchcraft, la sensación del metal gótico ruso, acaba de lanzar su cuarto álbum de larga duración, ‘Cinema’. por Liudmila Ángel, que también trabaja como modelo y también escribe!

​

¿Cómo estas mi amiga? ¡Gracias por esta nueva oportunidad! Contigo!

​

LA: Hola, que bueno escucharlo! Espero que me extrañes :)

​

Darkzen: Claro que sí!

​

¿Cuéntanos que ha pasado contigo todo este tiempo, con la banda?

​

LA: Witchcraft editó un nuevo álbum, CINEMA, que incluye 17 canciones y también lanzamos un nuevo video "Requiem" y grabamos otro. Pronto estará disponible. Y también publicare un nuevo libro de terror con mi amiga Ann Kot como la segunda autora.

​

¿Cómo es la vida en Moscú y Liudmila en Moscú también?

​

LA: Muy, muy, muy ocupado y siempre apurado! Necesitas mucho tiempo y mucha energía para quedarte aquí, mucha gente, precios altos y nadie quiere saber sobre tus problemas. Tú eres más que un fragmento de la gran máquina, no del todo un universo, ya que quieres pensar en ti mismo.

¿Cuéntanos sobre tus nuevos proyectos?

​

LA: Ahora estoy trabajando en dos nuevos libros, uno con el segundo autor Chris Wormwood. Se llama "En tu piel".

​

¿Cómo fue la producción del álbum Cinema?

​

LA: Habíamos estado trabajando en CINEMA por cerca de 5 años. Es demasiado largo, pero tenemos muchas dificultades y, finalmente, hemos hecho un álbum muy bueno. El sonido del CINEMA es un logro de Arsafes Romanos. Creo que es el mejor guitarrista y un muy buen ingeniero de sonido. Supongo que los oyentes extranjeros ya habían escuchado a su banda KARTIKEYA.

¿Escribiste todas las canciones en el álbum?

​

LA: Los hicimos con Romanos. Él puede tomar tu idea y hacerla sonar. Así que solo necesita decirle lo que quiere o cómo ve su idea. Algunas piezas y un remix de Vladimir Osadchiy. Y también algunos demos nos dio nuestra ex tecladista Iliya Vieron. Y hacemos canciones con la base de estos demos.

Tu álbum Cinema. ¿Cómo fueron las reacciones de los fans en el álbum?

​

LA: A ellos les gusta. Pero quiero decirles que a los aficionados extranjeros les gusta más y, sin embargo, que CINEMA está en ruso.

​

¿Cuéntanos qué canción o cuál es tu favorita de Cinema?

​

LA: Me gustan todas, pero las favoritas son "Silent Hill", "Gothic Bitch", "V ob'jatijah temnoti" (En los brazos de la oscuridad) - Versiones oscuras y claras, "Requiem", "Disforia", "Ditja zary ”(El niño del posluminiscente) y me gusta mucho Outro!

En el video ‘Реквием’ (Video musical oficial) tu voz es extremadamente excelente y la combinación de la voz masculina, además del fondo y la música orquestal, ¿Dinos la emoción que sientes en esta canción? ¿Por qué elegiste esa canción para el video?

​

LA: Bueno, "Requiem for a Dream" es una de mis películas favoritas. Y quería tomar una atmósfera de esta película y hacer algo muy especial. Espero que la meta haya sido alcanzada. La voz masculina es Dmitry Skidanenko. Él es un muy buen cantante. Me gusta mucho su voz. Las Imágenes fueron en la zona de Crimea. Muy hermosa naturaleza y el mar negro. Pero el clima estaba un poco frío. Era noviembre.

​

¿Habrá otro nuevo video? De Cinema.

​

LA: Sí, para la versión oscura de "V ob'jatijah temnoti" (En los brazos de la oscuridad). Hemos filmado material para este nuevo video. Espero que pronto podamos lanzarlo.

​

La portada para Cinema difiere de la ilustración habitual utilizada, ¿cuál es el significado detrás de la portada para Cinema?

​

LA: Todas las cosas tienen dos lados: oscuro y claro. Puede ver el lado claro en la portada de CINEMA pero si abre esta caja puede ver el oscuro. Y también el personaje tiene un hilo rojo en las armas y las tijeras, ¡y eso significa que eres un creador de tu propio destino! ¡Y solo tú! La artista de portada es Ilona D. Veresk.

​

¿Qué tal tus shows en vivo? He visto las fotos y son excelentes.

​

LA: No hacemos shows en vivo con la frecuencia que quiero, ¡pero trato de hacerlos más cálidos y mucho más enérgicos para la gente! ¡Me gustan los conciertos y quiero tenerlos en todo el mundo!

​

¿Algo más que quieras compartir con nosotros?

​

LA: Solo quiero decir que el periodista extranjero a menudo hace preguntas mucho más interesantes que el ruso. Y significa que te interesaste más en mi persona que en mi gente nativa. Quieres conocerme y todo sobre mi creatividad. ¡Y quiero ser más abierta para las personas de todo el mundo! Muchas gracias!
