Combining the sophisticated and progressive/melodic side of the 90’s Scandinavian death-black masters with sheer American fierceness and frenzy, Wythersake is the band that the extreme metal scene has been craving for a long time.

​

Formed in 2016, the Washington D.C. quartet quickly developed a unique style and released a couple of acclaimed singles online. Now, the secret ingredient of their astonishing debut album is the fact that they allowed themselves the freedom and time to explore different sounds, layers and dynamics – all pushed to the limit.

​

A dense death metal start and blackened style drums. The vocals supply the song with blackened grunts, deep and spoken words, hard-hitting guitar solos and keyboards.

Antiquity

​

A beginning with a fast, dense death metal and with the blackened style of excellent form, atmospheres and keyboards, within the melodic-symphonic part, brief guitar solos.

The Advent

​

A symphonic beginning and with a forceful drums with a strong step and dense chords with the same intensity and scale, blackened voices and hard heartbreaking.

From A Serpent Spoken

​

A beginning with keyboards, chords that open to a fast fire battery that maintains the intensity, it is melodic the song is very focused on the keyboards and the voices, the whole guitar provides a heavy background.

Iniquity

​

A musical beginning similar to the previous song with very similar times and scales, except in the later chords as the musical track progresses, the strong chords and keyboards as protagonists giving shape to the voice.

Through Ritual We Manifest

​

Interesting start with this musical, symphonic and keyboard track, which then assaults you with a forceful chord / hit drums, another short guitar solo for a brutal drum machine gun.

​

Lamentations

​

A symphonic / atmospheric track, slow paced, with backing vocals with a very dark prelude.

​

Feast Upon the Seraph Within

​

They come back with a lot of strength and power, with higher scales and more melodic chords, a part straight from death metal, another melodic part, but all wrapped around their dark symbolic / symphonic audio theater!

Unto Light

​

The drums are the main protagonist here along with the brief guitar solo that joins it briefly, having forcefulness and power with the same intensity.

My Profane Goddess

​

A melodic closing, strong with great speed. The melodic passages intertwine with the heavier moments and makes the song quite rhythmic in places. The symphonies are ethereal and bring out all the good things in the song.

My Recomendation

​

The album 'Antiquity' with a style within the symphonic blackened death metal with both symphonic and death metal elements, more focused on strong chords, guitars as the main element, guitar solos but they are not as protagonists as the times and scales with the main chords, there is a certain influence on symphonic black metal with the Scandinavian style, some musical tracks are somewhat similar but with a lot of power and strength, the album has a period musical concept that revolves around apostasy and Gnosticism, as in The early Middle Ages, personal spiritual growth and knowledge and the eradication of ignorance were considered heretical and were replaced by salvation through faith and a focus on eradicating sin. Wythersake is the much needed antidote, an exhilarating symphony of destruction, for fans of Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, Hypocrisy, Limbonic Art, Agalloch, Allegaeon, Septic Flesh, and more!

Wythersake, que combina el lado sofisticado y progresivo / melódico de los maestros del death-black escandinavo de los 90 con la pura fiereza y frenesí estadounidense, es la banda que la escena del metal extremo ha estado anhelando durante mucho tiempo.

​

Formado en 2016, el cuarteto de Washington D.C. desarrolló rápidamente un estilo único y lanzó un par de singles aclamados en línea. Ahora, el ingrediente secreto de su asombroso álbum debut es el hecho de que se permitieron la libertad y el tiempo para explorar diferentes sonidos, capas y dinámicas, todo llevado al límite.

​

Un inicio de death metal denso y batería de estilo ennegrecido. Las voces suministran a la canción gruñidos ennegrecidos, profundo y con palabras habladas, solos de guitarras contundentes y teclados.

Antiquity

​

Un inicio con un death metal veloz, denso y con el estilo ennegrecido de excelente forma, atmosferas y teclados, dentro de la parte melódica-sinfónica, solos de guitarra breves.

​

Un inicio sinfónico y con una contundente batería a paso fuerte y acordes densos con la misma intensidad y escala, voces ennegrecidas y desgarradoras duras.

​

Un inicio con teclados, acordes que abren a una batería de fuego rápida que mantiene la intensidad, es melódica la canción está muy centrada en los teclados y las voces, toda la guitarra proporciona un fondo pesado.

​

Iniquity

​

Un inicio musical semejante a la canción anterior con tiempos y escalas muy parecidas, excepto en los acordes posteriores conforme avanza la pista musical, los acordes fuertes y teclados como protagonistas dándole forma a la voz.

Through Ritual We Manifest

​

Interesante inicio con esta pista musical, sinfónico y teclados, que después te asaltan con un contundente acorde/batería de golpe, otro solo de guitarra breve para una ametralladora de batería brutal.

​

Lamentations

​

Una pista sinfónica/atmosférica, a ritmo lento, con coros de fondo con un preludio muy oscuro.

​

Feast Upon the Seraph Within

​

Vuelven con mucha fuerza y potencia, con escalas altas y acordes más melódicos, una parte directamente de death metal, otra parte melódica, pero todo envuelto alrededor de su teatro de audio simbólico oscuro/sinfónico!

​

Unto Light

​

La batería es la gran protagonista aquí junto con el breve solo de guitarra que se le une brevemente, teniendo contundencia y potencia con la misma intensidad.

​

My Profane Goddess

​

Un cierre melódico, fuerte con gran velocidad. Los pasajes melódicos se entrelazan con los momentos más pesados y hace que la canción sea bastante rítmica en algunos puntos. Las sinfonías son etéreas y resaltan todo lo bueno de la canción.

Mi Recomendación

​

El albúm 'Antigüedad' con un estilo dentro del symphonic blackened death metal con elementos tanto sinfónicos como de death metal, más enfocados en los acordes fuertes, guitarras como elemento principal, solos de guitarras pero no son tan protagonistas como los tiempos y escalas con los acordes principales, hay cierta influencia en el black metal sinfónico con el estilo escandinavo, algunas pistas musicales son algo parecidas pero con mucha potencia y fuerza, el albúm tiene un concepto musical de época que gira en torno a la apostasía y el gnosticismo, como a principios de la Edad Media, el crecimiento y el conocimiento espiritual personal y la erradicación de la ignorancia se consideraron heréticos y fueron reemplazados por la salvación a través de la fe y un enfoque en la erradicación del pecado. Wythersake es el antídoto muy necesario, una estimulante sinfonía de destrucción, para fans de Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, Hypocrisy, Limbonic Art, Agalloch, Allegaeon, Septic Flesh, entre otros!
