Basque's Song of Anhubis will be unleashing their sophomore album "Reversed Reflection" via Rockshots Records on October 23rd, 2020. The band creates a passionate, introspective, intense, and diverse gothic metal that was first introduced to the world on their 2016 debut full length "Revenge As Redemption". Not quite following in the exact musical footsteps of their precursive album, their second record takes a 180-degree turn as it experiments with electronic elements and sounds more akin to rock and metal along with their staple gothic influences.

 

Reych adds:

 

"I have always been passionate about music and singing since I was very young, so music has been present in my life all the time, both in good times and bad. That's why I always wanted to create my own soundtrack for my feelings and experiences, to be able to express everything that is sometimes difficult to define with words alone. When I met Paul (the guitarist of 'Song of Anhubis') collaborating with my voice in a concert of the band in which he played, and after having already been the vocalist of two bands, he offered me to start a project together. We had the same musical interests, a very similar taste and we connected great from the beginning, so when he showed me the riffs he had composed, I accepted immediately, we started this adventure called 'Song Of Anhubis'…"

 

Rei Reych explains the single:

 

"'Teratos' is a simple yet complex song that we composed in order to bring out the wildest and most heartbreaking part of us. 'Teratos' came at a time in my life when I needed to let off steam about certain personal issues, so I turned to it completely. The constant self-demanding and non-conformist attitude led me to rehearse every day in whatever little free time I could find to increase my vocal range and explore new voice techniques. This track is actually a small internal conversation about emotional awakening, that inherent force that at one point comes out like a beast that had been locked up. Of course, it is based on my own experiences and it is a track in which I gave extreme importance. Let's say that what I wanted at that moment more than anything else in the world was to express myself to the fullest with my voice and this track is one of those."

Misantropía

 

A powerful downfall of heavy, strong chords with a dense and dark electronic part, Rei's voice, combines beautifully with a choral rhythmic and ethereal way.

 

Persephone's Call

 

Overwhelming the musical input, keyboards, chords and drums with a single objective, strong and with power, a more Industrial style, The voices alternate in a contrasting, soft and clean way of Rei and in the background the light male voice.

 

Suicide Nation*

 

A very generous Electro Metal entry without a doubt! The musical changes are very good, the keyboards and electronic parts at their best, Rei's voice sensual and very attractive, an excellent vocal line, a solid rhythmic base with several atmospheric moments.

Vestiges of a LifeHypersomnia

 

Dense chords, with a slow and environmentally dark step, a clean masculine voice in the background and the beautiful voice of Rei stands out, a modern and very distinctive theme.

 

Progressive Spiral

 

A combination of industrial rock, super dense and strong chords! With regular, fast and slow tempos, the electronic sequences give it that dark vibe! At times more furious than the rest of the album, a dose of double bass and a little more symphonic until the end.

 

Hypersomnia

 

A gloomy and dark ballad, with a stamp of piano, guitars, drums and slow notes, in Spanish! That gives it drama and appeal!

 

Teratos

 

We return with an overwhelming, explosive and strong entrance! Melodic and rhythmic Teratos! Rei's beautiful voice with a beat closer to the changes of scale, now a short but very powerful Riff.

 

Lethal Lens

 

Excellent entry! Hard, dense, fast, with greater speed and compas! A battery with greater weight as well as the chords.

 

My Own Enemy

 

A rhythm and melody a little different from the previous songs, modern electro rock, it reminds me a bit of the Blutengel style, strong chords, intermediate tempos and regular scales in intensity.

 

My Recomendation

 

An album with a combination of styles, rhythms, arrangements and great sounds! Electro Metal, Rock / Industrial Metal, within a Modern Goth Metal with a high content of highly charged electronic parts as in Suicide Nation in combination of dense, strong and dark chords, all mixed with oriental style melodies which are the strong point from the album “Reversed Reflection”. Modern Goth metal that lovers of electronic sounds will be very pleased without a doubt!

 

The Voice

 

The scale, vibrato of Rei is very good, reaching the scale, height and speed of the musical notes, in many of the songs we can hear it as in Misanthropia and Hypersomnia, both songs contrasting. In addition, in the falsette that she makes her voice sharpens enough.

Song of Anhubis lanzará su segundo álbum "Reversed Reflection" a través de Rockshots Records el 23 de octubre de 2020. La banda crea un metal gótico apasionado, introspectivo, intenso y diverso que se presentó por primera vez al mundo en su debut de 2016 en su larga duración. "Venganza como redención". Sin seguir exactamente los pasos musicales de su álbum precursivo, su segundo disco da un giro de 180 grados mientras experimenta con elementos electrónicos y suena más parecido al rock y el metal junto con sus influencias góticas básicas.

 

Reych agrega:

 

“Siempre he sido una apasionada de la música y el canto desde muy joven, por eso la música ha estado presente en mi vida todo el tiempo, tanto en las buenas como en las malas. Por eso siempre quise crear mi propia banda sonora para mis sentimientos y vivencias. , para poder expresar todo lo que a veces es difícil de definir solo con palabras. Cuando conocí a Paul (el guitarrista de 'Song of Anhubis') colaborando con mi voz en un concierto de la banda en la que tocaba, y después de haber habiendo sido vocalista de dos bandas, me ofreció comenzar un proyecto juntos. Teníamos los mismos intereses musicales, un gusto muy similar y conectamos muy bien desde el principio, así que cuando me mostró los riffs que había compuesto, acepté de inmediato, comenzamos esta aventura llamada 'Song Of Anhubis' ... "

 

Rei Reych explica el single:

 

"'Teratos' es una canción simple pero compleja que compusimos para sacar la parte más salvaje y desgarradora de nosotros. 'Teratos' llegó en un momento de mi vida en el que necesitaba desahogarme sobre ciertos problemas personales, así que Me volví hacia él por completo. La constante actitud autoexigente e inconformista me llevó a ensayar todos los días en el poco tiempo libre que pudiera encontrar para aumentar mi rango vocal y explorar nuevas técnicas de voz. Esta pista es en realidad una pequeña conversación interna sobre despertar emocional, esa fuerza inherente que en un momento sale como una fiera que había estado encerrada. Por supuesto, se basa en mis propias vivencias y es una pista en la que le di extrema importancia. Digamos que lo que quería en ese momento más que cualquier otra cosa en el mundo fue expresarme al máximo con mi voz y esta pista es una de esas ".

Un abatimientos poderoso de acordes pesados, fuertes con una parte electrónica densa y oscura, la voz de Rei, compagina de forma coral estupendamente de forma rítmica y etérea.

Apabullante la entrada musical, teclados, acordes y batería con un solo objetivo, fuerte y con potencia, un estilo más Industrial, La voces se alternan de forma contrastante, suave y limpia de Rei y de fondo la voz masculina ligera.

Una entrada sumamente Electro Metal muy generosa sin duda! Los cambios musicales son muy buenos, los teclados y las partes electrónicas en su mayor expresión, la voz de Rei sensual y muy atractiva, una excelente línea vocal, una base sólida rítmica con varios momentos atmosféricos.

 

Vestiges of a LifeHypersomnia

 

Acordes densos, con paso lento y ambientalmente oscuro, voz limpia masculina de fondo y nos sobre salta la bella voz de Rei, un tema moderno y muy distintivo.   

 

Progressive Spiral

 

Una combinación de rock industrial, acordes súper densos y fuertes! Con tempos regulares, rápidos y otras lentos, las secuencias electrónicas le dan ese ambiente oscuro! Por momentos más furiosos que el resto del disco, dosis de doble bombo y un poco más sinfónica hasta el final.

 

Hypersomnia

 

Una sombría y oscura balada, con un sello de piano, guitarras, batería y notas lentas, en español! Eso le da drama y atractivo!

 

Teratos

 

Volvemos con una entrada apabullante, explosiva y fuerte! Melódica y rítmica Teratos! La bella voz de Rei con un compás más allegado a los cambios de escala, ahora un Riff breve pero muy poderoso.

 

Lethal Lens

 

Excelente entrada! Dura, densa, rápida, con mayor velocidad y compas! Una batería con mayor peso al igual que los acordes.

 

My Own Enemy

 

Un ritmo y melodía un poco distinta  a las canciones anteriores, electro rock moderno, me recuerda un poco al estilo de Blutengel, acordes fuertes, tempos intermedios y escalas regulares en intensidad.

 

Mi Recomendación  

 

Un albúm con una combinación de estilos, ritmos, arreglos y sonidos muy buenos! Electro Metal, Rock/Metal Industrial, dentro de un Goth Metal Moderno con un alto contenido de partes electrónicas muy cargadas como en Suicide Nation en combinación de acordes densos, fuertes y oscuros, todo mezclado con melodías con estilo orientales los cuales son el punto fuerte del albúm “Reversed Reflection”. Metal Goth moderno que a los amantes de los sonidos electrónicos quedaran muy complacidos sin duda!

 

La Voz

 

La escala, vibrato de Rei es muy bueno, alcanzando la escala, altura y velocidad de las notas musicales, en muchas de las canciones lo podemos escuchar como en Misantropia y en Hypersomnia, contrastantes ambas canciones. Además en el falsette que hace se agudiza bastante su voz.
