Syryn's sophomore album "Heads or Tails", is a record full of growth, diversity, and a much more collaborative effort as a whole compared to the band's debut full-length "Beyond the Depths" along with co-writing with guest vocalists Amanda Kiernan (ex-The Order of Chaos, ex-Into Eternity) and Craig Carswell (Producer, Singer /Songwriter, Dorians Mirror, Court of Cardinals). "Head or Tails" is more a themed album branching out into the Pirate/Sailor’s perspective and beyond. The band wanted to continue on the storytelling of a Siren’s journey, touching on as many aspects of it as they could fit onto the record (including the many emotions we go through in everyday life: Love, fear, anger, happiness, sadness, regret, etc.). Syryn also wanted to shake things up and create something a bit out of their regular musical realm, no two songs are alike and that makes the band more difficult to categorize. They try to incorporate all their influences into their own sound with a wide array of styles to adhere to many people’s tastes.

"This album is part of my soul. Not only is it melodic, but it is also menacing and malicious. It’s happy and fun, yet heartwrenching. Every piece of music written includes a piece of myself. How could it not, really. We write from experience, we write from knowledge, or dreams, or desires. I write from all of the above, and more. The beauty of this album as a whole is that we all get it. We all feel those things and want to represent them as best we can. Be it to cheer someone up, provide an awesome drinking song, be pissed off at something or someone, dig a bit deeper, stand up for ourselves, give a musical hug, or whatever the hell else we feel like. This album encompasses all of that and more. Music is a voice, and we are choosing to use it. This album was a blast to write! We’ve been holding on to these riffs for a long while, and hopefully, the anticipation is exactly what our fans were waiting for." adds vocalist Sloan Voxx.

My Recomendation

​

They start in an atmospheric way, alarm siren, an imminent attack that opens with soft and clean chords, with Sloan's soft and clear voice, with Til We Drown starting in a classic way with an old-school Heavy metal, full chords for in front, rhythmic and heavy, Walk The Plank, we have a little more of the style like the previous song, with the guitars in front, crunchy and fierce chords, faster and heavier rhythms, here the drums have a greater presence, in Sink Or Swim we have another classic song of a fast and more thrasher Heavy Metal in those rhythms that continue the good work and a very well fitted Riffs attack, in Madness Becomes Me a ballad where the atmosphere is created for Voxx's voice that fits the register and musical range at all times and above all with a majestic riff, in Fist Full Of Daggers it has a great introduction of a rather crunchy and rude riff, heavy rhythms follow with the guitar line ahead and some guttural vocals that increase the musical heaviness, in Heads Or Tails another pseudo melodic metal ballad with keys underneath and a sublime and melancholic riff, and closing in Succubus Queen with a style, power and heaviness of power metal.

Syryn's new album is very varied as we can hear it, with a remarkable load of Heavy Metal with NWOBHM to the old school where we can hear the remarkable influence of one of the great UK Heavy metal bands, they have excellent riffs and passages melodic with power metal and with a bit of Thrash metal too, the guitar line comes out a lot before the drums, Sloan's super voice is great! Giving you a heavy, dark and aggressive cut!

El segundo álbum de Syryn, "Heads or Tails", es un disco lleno de crecimiento, diversidad y un esfuerzo mucho más colaborativo en general en comparación con el álbum debut de la banda, "Beyond the Depths", junto con la coescritura con la vocalista invitada Amanda Kiernan. (ex-The Order of Chaos, ex-Into Eternity) y Craig Carswell (Productor, Cantante/Compositor, Dorians Mirror, Court of Cardinals). "Head or Tails" es más un álbum temático que se ramifica en la perspectiva de Pirate/Sailor y más allá. La banda quería continuar con la narración del viaje de una sirena, tocando tantos aspectos como pudieran caber en el disco (incluidas las muchas emociones por las que pasamos en la vida cotidiana: amor, miedo, ira, felicidad, tristeza, arrepentimiento, etc.). Syryn también quería sacudir las cosas y crear algo un poco fuera de su ámbito musical habitual, no hay dos canciones iguales y eso hace que la banda sea más difícil de categorizar. Mi Recomendación

Arrancan de forma atmosférica, sirena de alarma, un ataque inminente que abre con acordes suaves y limpias, con la voz suave y clara de Sloan, con Til We Drown arrancando de forma clásica con un Heavy metal a la vieja escuela, acordes de lleno por delante, rítmicos y pesados, Walk The Plank, tenemos un poco más del estilo como la previa canción, con las guitarras por delante, acordes crujientes y aguerridos, ritmos más rápidos y pesados, aquí la batería tiene mayor presencia, en Sink Or Swim tenemos otra clásica canción de un Heavy metal rápido y más thrashero en esos ritmos que continúan con el buen trabajo y un ataque de Riffs muy bien encajado, en Madness Becomes Me una balada donde se crea la atmósfera para la voz de Voxx que se ajusta al registro y rango musical en todo momento y sobre todo con un riff majestuoso, en Fist Full Of Daggers tiene una genial introducción de un riff bastante crujiente y rudo, ritmos pesados le siguen a continuación con la línea de guitarras por delante y un poco de voces guturales que aumentan la pesadez musical, en Heads Or Tails otra seudo balada de metal melódico con teclas debajo y un riff sublime y melancólico, y cerrando en Succubus Queen con un estilo, potencia y pesadez del power metal.

El nuevo albúm de Syryn, es muy variado como lo podemos escuchar, con una notable carga de Heavy Metal con NWOBHM a la vieja escuela donde podemos escuchar la influencia notable de una de las grandes bandas de UK de Heavy metal, tienen excelentes riffs y pasajes melódicos con power metal y con un poco de Thrash metal también, la línea de guitarras sobre sale bastante ante la batería, la súper voz de Sloan es genial! Dándole un corte pesado, oscuro y agresivo!
