¿Who are Tragul band? Here a review!

​

TRAGUL is a melodic metal international project created by Adrian Benegas, keyboardist and composer of the band Pergana. It features the participation and contribution of very renown metal stars such as Zuberoa Aznarez (Vocals), Steve Conley (Guitars), Oliver Holzwarth (Bass), Alex Holzwarth (Drums).

Adrian: Hello Roberto, it’s a pleasure to be here at DarkZen. Thanks a lot!

 

How are you?

​

Adrian: Super! :) Everything is going great with the band. I hope you’re doing well too! ;)

 

Tell us the history of this project, how was born?

​

Adrian: Well, let’s go back to 2016, on November to be precise… It was a time when I was getting out from some musical projects that went in a different direction that I imagined... The thing is that I felt the need to keep making music but in another artistic direction, so I decided to create TRAGUL. I took some musical ideas and demos I’d prepared so far and invited to some friends to join me on this adventure, Alex and Oliver Holzwarth. After that I contacted the other guys, Zuberoa and Steve, and sent my musical ideas and goals to introduce them the project, and they accepted to join. Suddenly we were five guys working on a musical project, a new one, called TRAGUL.

 

You have a great combination of very talented musicians! "INTO THE HEART OF THE SUN" is a great example of this, in addition of his two 2 releases "BENNU" and "THE MESSAGE” How was the experience of those sounds and styles of each member with each song?

​

Adrian: Yes, they are. Not only very talented musicians but exceptional people, they’re great, you know, it’s a pleasure to work with them.

 

About the songs, well, basically I compose and write the lyrics. After I finish the demo songs, they start to record their parts, then we go to the final stage before to record the final versions, we focus ourselves on the arrangements. To sum up, they add their musical arrangements to the songs once I finish the basic ideas and lyrics, then we record the final versions, the ones that are ready to the mixing and mastering process.

 

You have a progressive style, which sounds pretty good! In addition to sounds like Symphonic and Power Metal ¿What is your preference?

​

Oh, thanks! Yes, the sound of TRAGUL vary depending on the lyrics, I always try to give to the stories I write a strong musical support, so always the styles and arrangements varies depending of what I am telling with the lyrics, anyway, if you listen carefully you will find some elements that maintain the basic “metal” sound of TRAGUL. So after saying that, I must say that as a metal fan, I am fine if there is a “metal” element on the music, all the other elements, such as Symphonic, Power, Progressive, or whatever, are welcome if they contribute with the artistic sight of each song. I have no preference at all.

​

What does mean the name of the band?

​

Adrian: To me, the word “TRAGUL” represents the connection between the inner divine spirit and the human being through music. It came to me within an oneiric experience I once had.

 

All these singles will be part of a new album?

​

Adrian: Well, these singles are individual songs, they are not part of an EP neither an album. Our plan is to work on a “song by song” format. It means, that we will be releasing more independent songs to give to the people the chance to assimilate every song carefully and at the same time give us the chance to make TRAGUL known. In my opinion, it’s the best way to work right now for us, on every release that we are doing the people are more interested on sharing our music and the interaction with the fans gets stronger and growing, which is our main goal at the moment.

 

Each single has a story behind, who writes the lyrics and who each song?

​

Adrian: As I mentioned before, I wrote all the music and lyrics on TRAGUL until now. Nevertheless there are some musical ideas in which we are working together from the beginning with Zuberoa and Steve. But as my project, the music and lyrics decays on me, the other guys helps with the final arrangements which in my opinion are essential, the artistic expression of my bandmates gives to the songs the final “touch” and a stronger sound.

 

To Zuberoa. Thank you for this opportunity ¿How do you feel with this Project?

​

Zuberoa: I am very happy to be a part of Tragul and on the same way I feel honored that Adrian relies on me and my voice to sing his songs. Honestly, I don't have much time to commit myself to new projects, but when I listened to the songs and saw the quality of the band I decided that I would do my best to continue with it. Nevertheless, Adrian is the one who writes the songs here, I just recorded what he wrote and I added some backing vocals. From now on, the idea is that I arrange the vocal lines if necessary so that they fit my voice the best way possible. 

 

To Zuberoa. Tragul band and DiM ¿What surprises we have with these two great bands and with you?

​

Zuberoa: Well, I can talk about DiM which is my main project and where I usually compose most of the music, arrangements and lyrics myself. We will start with the preproduction of the new album very soon, for the moment we have started writing some stuff, but we still have to gather all the band members to define more details about the upcoming album. We will enter the studio next year, but it's still soon to talk about a release date, anyway you will have news from the studio soon. On the other hand, I continue with my solo project and with my classical projects too, so you can expect new music for next year! Regarding Tragul, Adrian will tell you better what to expect in the future.

​

What goals does Tragul band have in mind for this end year?

​

Adrian: Our first goal bases on make the band’s name known on the metal scene, we are about to release a fourth single which will close our musical year with Tragul. So, we hope to grow our fan base and keep putting Tragul on the press to reach more people out there. Nevertheless, I must say that the goals for 2017 are 99% already accomplished, so I am very satisfied with the evolution of Tragul. On December will be only 6 months since our debut and since then, we've appeared in a lot of metal magazines, our songs were played on some radios around the globe, Tragul appeared repeatedly on TV news here in Paraguay, which is very hard considering that we are a Metal band not a mainstream pop or rock band, so, as I said, I'm very happy with the progress of Tragul this year.

 

Do you have news about tours or events around Europe or?

​

Adrian: Right now, we are focusing on release more songs and videos ;) However, one of my dreams is to have Tragul on the stages around the world, but I wouldn’t like to force it, it will come eventually in the future. At the moment, I must say that we have more musical surprises for you.

¿Quiénes son la banda Tragul? Aquí una reseña!

​

TRAGUL es un proyecto internacional de metal melódico creado por Adrian Benegas, tecladista y compositor de la banda Pergana. Cuenta con la participación y la contribución de estrellas de metal muy reconocidas como Zuberoa Aznarez (Voces), Steve Conley (Guitarras), Oliver Holzwarth (Bajo), Alex Holzwarth (Batería).

Adrian: Hola Roberto, es un placer estar aquí en Darkzen. ¡Muchas gracias!

¿Cómo estás?

​

Adrian: ¡Súper! :) Todo va bien con la banda. ¡Espero que estés bien también! ;)

​

Cuéntanos la historia de este proyecto, ¿cómo nació?

​

Adrian: Bueno, volvamos al 2016, en noviembre para ser precisos... Era un momento en el que salía de algunos proyectos musicales que iban en una dirección diferente a la que yo imaginaba... El caso es que sentí la necesidad de sigo haciendo música pero en otra dirección artística, así que decidí crear TRAGUL. Tomé algunas ideas musicales y demos que había preparado hasta el momento e invité a algunos amigos a unirse a mí en esta aventura, Alex y Oliver Holzwarth. Después de eso me puse en contacto con los otros chicos, Zuberoa y Steve, y les envié mis ideas musicales y objetivos para presentarles el proyecto, y aceptaron unirse. De repente, éramos cinco chicos trabajando en un proyecto musical, uno nuevo, llamado TRAGUL.

​

¡Tienen una gran combinación de músicos muy talentosos! "INTO THE HEART OF THE SUN" es un gran ejemplo de esto, además de sus dos 2 lanzamientos "BENNU" y "THE MESSAGE" ¿Cómo fue la experiencia de esos sonidos y estilos de cada miembro con cada canción?

​

Adrian: Sí, lo son. No solo músicos muy talentosos sino personas excepcionales, son geniales, ya sabes, es un placer trabajar con ellos.

 

Sobre las canciones, bueno, básicamente compongo y escribo la letra. Después de terminar las canciones de demostración, comienzan a grabar sus partes, luego vamos a la etapa final antes de grabar las versiones finales, nos centramos en los arreglos. En resumen, agregan sus arreglos musicales a las canciones una vez que termino las ideas básicas y las letras, luego grabamos las versiones finales, las que están listas para el proceso de mezcla y masterización.

​

Tienes un estilo progresivo, ¡que suena bastante bien! Además de sonidos como Symphonic y Power Metal ¿Cuál es tu preferencia?

​

¡Oh gracias! Sí, el sonido de TRAGUL varía según la letra, siempre trato de dar a las historias que escribo un fuerte apoyo musical, por lo que siempre los estilos y arreglos varían dependiendo de lo que estoy diciendo con la letra, de todos modos, si escuchas con atención Encontrarás algunos elementos que mantienen el sonido básico de "metal" de TRAGUL. Entonces, después de decir eso, debo decir que como fanático del metal, estoy bien si hay un elemento "metálico" en la música, todos los otros elementos, como Sinfónico, Poder, Progresivo o lo que sea, son bienvenidos si contribuyen con la visión artística de cada canción. No tengo ninguna preferencia en absoluto.

​

¿Qué significa el nombre de la banda?

​

Adrian: Para mí, la palabra "TRAGUL" representa la conexión entre el espíritu divino interno y el ser humano a través de la música. Vino a mí en una experiencia onírica que una vez tuve.

​

¿Todos estos singles serán parte de un nuevo álbum?

​

Adrian: Bueno, estos singles son canciones individuales, no son parte de un EP ni un álbum. Nuestro plan es trabajar en un formato de "canción por canción". Significa que vamos a lanzar más canciones independientes para dar a la gente la oportunidad de asimilar cada canción con cuidado y, al mismo tiempo, darnos la oportunidad de dar a conocer TRAGUL. En mi opinión, es la mejor manera de trabajar ahora para nosotros, en cada lanzamiento que estamos haciendo la gente está más interesada en compartir nuestra música y la interacción con los fans se fortalece y crece, que es nuestro principal objetivo en este momento.

​

Cada sencillo tiene una historia detrás, ¿quién escribe las letras y quién cada canción?

​

Adrian: Como mencioné antes, escribí toda la música y letras en TRAGUL hasta ahora. Sin embargo, hay algunas ideas musicales en las que estamos trabajando juntos desde el principio con Zuberoa y Steve. Pero a medida que mi proyecto, la música y la letra se deterioran, los otros chicos me ayudan con los arreglos finales que en mi opinión son esenciales, la expresión artística de mis compañeros de banda da a las canciones el "toque" final y un sonido más fuerte.

​

Para Zuberoa. Gracias por esta oportunidad ¿Cómo te sientes con este proyecto?

​

Zuberoa: Estoy muy feliz de ser parte de Tragul y de la misma manera me siento honrada de que Adrian confíe en mí y en mi voz para cantar sus canciones. Honestamente, no tengo mucho tiempo para comprometerme con nuevos proyectos, pero cuando escuché las canciones y vi la calidad de la banda, decidí que haría todo lo posible por continuar. Sin embargo, Adrian es quien escribe las canciones aquí, solo grabé lo que escribió y agregué algunas voces de acompañamiento. A partir de ahora, la idea es organizar las líneas vocales si es necesario para que se adapten a mi voz de la mejor manera posible.

​

Para Zuberoa. Tragul Band y DiM ¿Qué sorpresas tenemos con estas dos grandes bandas y contigo?

​

Zuberoa: Bueno, puedo hablar sobre DiM, que es mi proyecto principal y en el que generalmente compongo la mayoría de la música, los arreglos y las letras. Comenzaremos con la pre producción del nuevo álbum muy pronto, por el momento hemos empezado a escribir algunas cosas, pero todavía tenemos que reunir a todos los miembros de la banda para definir más detalles sobre el próximo álbum. Ingresaremos al estudio el próximo año, pero aún es pronto para hablar sobre una fecha de lanzamiento, de todos modos tendrá noticias del estudio pronto. Por otro lado, continúo con mi proyecto en solitario y también con mis proyectos clásicos, ¡así que puedes esperar nueva música para el próximo año! Con respecto a Tragul, Adrian te dirá mejor qué esperar en el futuro.

¿Qué objetivos tienen en mente la banda Tragul para este fin de año?

​

Adrian: Nuestro primer objetivo en hacer que el nombre de la banda sea conocido en la escena del metal, estamos a punto de lanzar un cuarto single que cerrará nuestro año musical con Tragul. Por lo tanto, esperamos aumentar nuestra base de seguidores y seguir poniendo a Tragul en la prensa para llegar a más personas. Sin embargo, debo decir que los objetivos para 2017 ya se han cumplido en un 99%, así que estoy muy satisfecho con la evolución de Tragul. En diciembre habrá solo 6 meses desde nuestro debut y desde entonces, hemos aparecido en muchas revistas de metal, nuestras canciones se han reproducido en algunas radios de todo el mundo, Tragul apareció repetidamente en las noticias de televisión aquí en Paraguay, que es muy difícil teniendo en cuenta que somos una banda de Metal, no una banda pop o rock convencional, entonces, como dije, estoy muy contento con el progreso de Tragul este año.

​

¿Tienen noticias sobre giras o eventos por Europa ó?

​

Adrian: ahora mismo, nos estamos enfocando en lanzar más canciones y videos;) Sin embargo, uno de mis sueños es tener a Tragul en las etapas alrededor del mundo, pero no me gustaría forzarlo, vendrá eventualmente en el futuro. . Por el momento, debo decir que tenemos más sorpresas musicales para ti.
