Un poco de la biografía de Dalea!

 

Vocalista Pop-Rock Dalea es uno de los actos más interesantes para salir de la escena de Nueva York en los últimos años. Apodado "El fenómeno femenino" debido a su variabilidad genética (síndrome de insensibilidad androgénica). Su historia en la música comenzó en 2008, cuando después de la muerte de su padre de cáncer, ella dejó su carrera en la manera de trabajar en la música exclusivamente, a tiempo completo. Dalea fundó la banda Quimera Música (2009-2013) y se dispuso a equilibrar los mejores aspectos de rock, pop y música de cine. Su primer disco "Amor y locura" (fuera colaboró con varios compositores) fue puesto en libertad relativamente bajo el radar. No fue hasta el lanzamiento de su segundo álbum (doble) titulado "inmortal", que ahora trabaja exclusivamente con el compositor sueco Patrick Rundblad, que fue recibida con guiños internacionales de los críticos de música y aficionados.

 

 

Hola! Mi amiga Dalea muchas gracias! Por esta oportunidad y por el apoyo brindado en esta entrevista! En verdad que honor para! Ni se cómo empezar! :D

 

D: Gracias a ti por tu apoyo, con mucho cariño aquí estoy.

 

¿Cómo has estado Dalea?

 

D: Pues ocupadísima con el nuevo álbum que acaba de salir, ahora estamos terminando el nuevo video musical para la canción “Visitor”, muy contenta y agradecida por el recibimiento a mi álbum.

 

¿Cuéntanos un poco acerca de Dalea quien es la cantante y quien es la persona detrás de las cámaras?

 

D: La cantante es una chica haciendo algo muy de ella, tratando de dar un mensaje de optimismo a los que la escuchan, y bueno alguien que quiere entretener a sus fans. La persona detrás de las cámaras es una chica muy feliz, muy privada, que le encanta la naturaleza y los animales, me encanta el ejercicio y soy vegana.

 

¿Cuáles son tus influencias musicalmente, de ayer y hoy? Dentro y fuera del Rock y Metal

 

D: Pues no se si serán influencias, pero lo que yo escucho es muy ecléctico, Metallica, Madonna, Linkin Park, Lana Del Rey, clásicos como ABBA y Vivaldi

 

Sé que tienes formación Clásica ¿Cómo ha sido tu entrenamiento vocal y tu carrera musical?

 

D: Si, mi maestra de voz es la Austriaca Elisabeth Lohninger, me ayudó mucho a entrenar mi voz. Ella también canta, pero Jazz. De mi carrera pues muchos saben que empecé con mi banda llamada ‘Quimera Music’, que era más Rock Sinfónico. Deje la banda en el 2013 para ser cantante solista, ya simplemente llamada Dalea. Este álbum que acabo de sacar en Mayo, es mi primer álbum de solista, mi genero es mas Rock-Pop hoy día, pero aun tengo mi sonido cinemático con toques de violines y de orquesta.

 

 

¿Has estado interesada en algún estilo propio o en la búsqueda de algo más personal dentro del mundo musical?

 

D: Todo lo que hago es mi estilo propio, tengo una imagen de el tipo de artista que quiero ser y el tipo de música que quiero hacer, Mi look es futurístico y mi canciones son historias por las que le hablo a mis fans. Pero estoy un poco sola en este medio, ya que ni mi voz ni mi música siguen a las cantantes mas conocidas, tampoco ando ahí toda desvestida para que la gente se de cuenta que existo (hay tantas que lo hacen) entonces es difícil para los sellos de música el saber donde ponerme, pero pues ya vamos, espero que mi música hable por si misma.

 

¿Has pensado hacer algún dueto o con algún otro vocalista? ¿Y Quién sería?  

 

D: Si, con dos! Me encantaría hacer uno con Lana Del Rey y otro con Madonna, las dos son únicas y las adoro.

 

Darkzen: excelente!

 

¿Qué nos quieres trasmitir Dalea con tus palabras, con tu música, en esta etapa de tu vida?

 

D: Que nuestras vidas valen mucho, que no necesitamos ser perfectos para merecer la felicidad, que nunca hay que rendirse, que si no juntamos nuestros esfuerzos para proteger a este planeta, se nos va la vida con el.

 

Para mi tu música es un excelente combinado de sonidos Electrónicos, Rockeros y pop con una visión futurística genial! te gustaría hacer un álbum con alguna temática exclusivamente Rockera/Metalera o con algún estilo dentro del Metal como lo es el Metal Sinfonico por ejemplo? ¿Cuál sería?

 

D: Gracias! Si, en el futuro tengo pensado hacer un álbum completamente rock y metal, desde luego con su sonido sinfónico. Ya veremos que trae el futuro!

 

¿Cómo describirías con tus palabras el nuevo álbum ‘Visitor’ a personas que no lo han escuchado todavía?

 

D: "VISITOR" es una colección de canciones que por medio de mi voz, se comunican a todos como si yo fuera una visitante de un planeta distante. Por medio de la música hago una crónica de mi llegada a la tierra, la tierra de los hombres y las mujeres nativas.
 
En este álbum, canto a la fuerza, a el amor, a la pasión y a la vulnerabilidad, mientras que las letras hacen alusión de un intento de ayudar a la gente de la tierra a abrir sus ojos para salvarse de la autodestrucción.
 
Con la ayuda de mi fans, tal vez lograre entregar mi mensaje.

 

 

 ¿Cómo surgió la idea para este tipo de concepto dentro de tu música, la ciencia ficción?

 

D: Así vivo yo, es mi estilo. Tengo un pasado en el diseño de modas en Nueva York, muchos de mis vestuario los e diseñado yo misma, otros me llegan de Alexander McQueen. Asi que mi look es autentico de mi misma. También soy una fan de las películas de Ciencia Ficcion, como Avatar, Star Wars, Prometheous, etcétera.

 

¿Otra súper pregunta, tienes una canción y video llamado "Anunnaki" sumerios, es algo que has estudiado extensivamente, te atrae o a que se debe la canción? Y en base a lo que ha dicho acerca de ellos ¿Qué opinas acerca de su conocimiento?

 

D: Esta canción surgió por mis estudios de las civilizaciones del pasado y por mi interés en las cosas inexplicables en este planeta. Por ejemplo: Las pirámides de Egipto, construidas con bloques tan enormes y asombrosa perfección, no sólo eso, sino que perfectamente alineados a Orión. Los antiguos dibujos monumentales de la región de Nazca de Perú – que sólo pueden ser vistos desde el aire y mil otras cosas. Quería escribir una canción que planteara la idea, ¿qué tal si todos los humanos son descendientes de personas de otro planeta? Anunnaki, significa literalmente, "Los que vinieron de los cielos"

 

¿Hay alguna continuidad en tus videos o cuentan sus propias historias? En base al álbum

 

D: Cada video es una historia en si, como una mini película, pero todos están relacionados al álbum y tienen su estilo.

 

¿Qué sorpresa nos tendrá Dalea en este año?

 

D: Algo que quiero hacer muchísimo es mi álbum en español, pero necesito calcularlo bien, ya que toma mucho tiempo y estoy ya con la promoción del álbum que acaba de salir. Hay mucho de lo que no puedo hablar, pero te puedo decir que estoy hablando con un sello muy grande, si todo sale bien, ya tendré el apoyo para poder ir en tour a muchos países y para mi nueva música!

 

Algo más que nos quisieras compartir, en este tu espacio?

 

D: Si, estén al pendiente, ya el nuevo video musical sale este Junio!

 

Solo dos preguntas más acerca de la condición que padecen muchas personas, tú naciste con el "síndrome de insensibilidad a los andrógenos '. ¿Podrías explicarnos que es este síndrome?

 

D: Si, es una condición genética, donde durante la gestación de el bebe, algo sucede y nacemos con unos genes ‘XY’ y con diferentes niveles de insensibilidad androgénica, eso quiere decir que la “Y” de nuestros genes esta estática. Ay muchos diferentes niveles de este síndrome, yo por ejemplo, nací sin útero y con gónadas internas. Mi insensibilidad androgénica es completa, así que soy muy delicada físicamente, no soy muy fuerte ya que no tengo nada de testosterona (andrógeno = testosterona ) chicas regulares, sin este síndrome que yo tengo, tienen un porcentaje de estrógenos y testosterona en sus cuerpos, la testosterona ayuda con la fuerza y a tener un poquito de músculos, pero yo solo tengo estrógenos.

 

¿Y cómo sobrellevarlo y que la gente sepa acerca de esto antes de opinar diferente?

 

D: Bueno, el entenderse y aceptarse a uno mismo es lo mejor de el mundo. Uno tiene la tendencia de ser muy duro con uno mismo, a veces mas que los demás. Yo me considero simplemente una chica regular, pero una sobreviviente, una chica que no se da por vencida. Yo se que cualquier meta que yo conquiste, me cuesta tres veces más, así que me hago porras a mi misma durante el proceso. La gente tendrá su opinión, pero yo estoy aquí para todas las chicas que necesitan ver a alguien que no es perfecta, pero que sigue echándole ganas. De hecho, nadie es perfecto, pero nuestros sueños, honorabilidad y nuestras victorias nos hacen bellos por dentro. Para atrás ni para agarrar vuelo.

A little biography of Dalea!

 

Pop-Rock Vocalist Dalea is one of the most intriguing acts to emerge from the New York scene in recent years. Nicknamed “The Female Phenomenon” due to her genetic variation (Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome). Her story in music began in 2008, when after the passing of her father from Cancer, she left her career in fashion to work in music exclusively, full time. Dalea founded the band Quimera Music  (2009-2013) and set out to balance the best aspects of rock, pop and cinema music. Her first album “Love and Madness” (were she collaborated with various composers) was released relatively under the radar. It wasn’t until the release of her second (double) album titled “IMMORTAL”, now working exclusively with Swedish composer Patrick Rundblad, that she was greeted with international nods from music critics and fans.

 

Hello my friend, thanks for this opportunity and for your support. It's an honor for me and i don't even know how to start with this interview!

 

D: Thanks to you! for all your support. Here i am with love.

 

How have you been?

 

D: Very busy with the recent releasing of our album, and now we are finishing the musical video for the song 'Visitor'. I'm very glad and thankful for how people have reacted to the album.

 

Tell us a little about Dalea. Who is she as a person and as an artist?

 

D: The singer is a girl who is doing something very of hers, she's trying to send an optimist message to the listeners and is someone who wants to entertain to her fans.

The person behind scenes is a very happy girl, very private, who loves nature, animals and exercise. I'm vegan.

 

What are your musical influences? from your past and your present. inside and outside the rock and metal music.

 

D: I don't know if they are an influence but i like to listen eclectic music.

Metallica, Linkin Park, Lana del Rey and classical things like Vivaldi and ABBA.

 

I know you have classical training so tell me, How have been your vocal training and your musical career?

 

D: Yes indeed! My voice teacher is the austrian Elisabeth Lohninger. She helped me a lot with the training of my voice. She is jazz singer. Many know that my career started with the band 'Quimera Music' of symphonic rock but in 2013 i left it.

 

I started a solo career and now i'm known for 'Dalea'.  My first album was released the past May and is more Rock Pop, but still have my cinematic sound with violins and orchestra.

 

Have you been interested in a personal style, searching something more personal within the musical world?

 

D: Everything i do it has my personal style! I know perfectly the kind of artist i want to be and the kind of music i want to do. My look is futuristic and my songs are stories in which i can speak to my fans. But i have to say that i'm a little alone in this media because my music and my voice are different than the most famous singers. Neither i like to be unclothed and draw everyone's attention (many girls do this).

 

So it's difficult for the music labels to find a place for me, but i hope my music speak for me.

 

Do you want to make a duet? With who?

 

D: Yes! with two. I'd love to make a duet with Lana del Rey and other with Madonna! both are unique and i adore them.

 

Darkzen: Excellent!

 

What do you want to convey with your words and your music, in this stage of your life?

 

D: That our lives are worth a lot and we don't need to be perfect to deserve happiness.

Never give up! We need to join efforts to protect our planet or otherwise our life will be over.

 

Your music is a mix of electronic sounds, rock, pop and a futuristic vision but tell me. Would you like to make an album exclusively of rock, metal or symphonic metal?

 

D: Thanks! yes, in the future i'd like to make a whole album of rock and metal, of course with symphonic sounds. Let's see what future bring for us.

 

How do you describe the album 'Visitor', with your own words? Describe it for those who haven't heard it yet

 

D: 'Visitor' is a collection of songs that through my voice are communicating with everyone, like if i were a visitant of a faraway planet.

 

Through the music describe my arrival on planet earth, land of native men and women.

In this album i sing to the strength, love, passion and vulnerability. The lyrics are about trying to help people to open their eyes, be aware of self destruction.

 

I hope to be able of convey my message with help of my fans.

 

 

This concept of science fiction in your music. How did the idea come up?

That's how i live, is my style.

 

D: I have a past within fashion design on New York, most of my costumes are designed by me and other are designs of Alexander McQueen. So my look is authentic of myself.

I'm fan of science fiction films like Avatar, Star wars and Prometheous.

 

You have a song and a videoclip called 'Anunnaki' and it's about sumerians. So tell me. Do sumerians call your attention? Have you studied about them? What do you think about their knowledge?

 

D: This song appear for my studies of past civilizations and for my interest on unexplainable things on this planet. For example the Pyramids of Egypt that were built with giant blocks and astonishing perfection. Besides they are perfectly aligned with Orion.

 

The old monumental drawings of the Nazca region on Peru that can only be seen from the air. I wanted to write a song with this idea: What if every human being is descendant of people of other planet? Anunnaki it means literally 'those who came from the sky'.

 

Do your videos have continuity or tell its own stories?

 

D: Every video has a story, just like a mini movie but each one is related to the album and has its own style.

 

What surprises do you have for us this year?

 

D: I really want to make an album in spanish! but i need to calculate it well because i need a lot of time and right now i'm busy with the promotion of the new album.

 

There are many things i can't tell but the only thing i can say is that i'm speaking with a huge label.

 

If everything goes well i will have the enough support to make a tour in many countries and for new music.

 

Would you like to share with us something else?

 

D: Stay tuned, our new video will be released the next June.

 

Only two questions more my friend. About your condition 'androgen insensitivity syndrome'. Can you explain us what is this condition?

 

D: Yes of course, it is a genetic condition. During gestation baby something happens and we are born with XY genes and different levels of androgen insensitivity.

 

This means that 'Y' in our genes is static and exist several levels of this syndrome.

I was born without a uterus and with internal gonads. My androgen insensitivity is complete so i'm very physically delicate.

 

I'm not so strong because i have nothing of testosterone (androgen = testosterone).

Regular girls who don't have this condition, have a percentage of estrogen and testosterone in their bodies.

 

The testosterone helps with physical strength and to have muscles, but in my case i only have estrogen.

 

What do you recommend to overcome this situation?

 

D: Accept and understand yourself is the best advice! Don't be hard with yourself.

I consider myself just like a regular girl but i'm a survivor! a girl who never give up.

I know that every goal i propose it will be triply difficult to reach out.

 

But i always encourage myself! People have different opinions but i'm here for all the girls who need someone imperfect but with all the spirit! Nobody is perfect but our dreams, honor and victories make us beautiful inside. There is no way back.
