Adrian Benegas, composer, keyboardist and entrepreneur, was born in March 1, 1989 in Asuncion, Paraguay. Mostly known for being the founder of the international metal project TRAGUL. He started his career into music when he created his first metal project called Pergana back in 2008 which released two EP's. In 2015, he founded Abracadabra, a symphonic metal project featuring Emilie Ragni (Luca Turilli) on vocals. Abracadabra released two EPs, "Forbidden Magic" (2015) and "Samhain Night" (2016).

 

A year after, Adrian founded Tragul and stepped into the professional scene hiring some great artists to collaborate with him such as Alex Holzwarth, Oliver Holzwarth (Blind Guardian), Steve Conley, Zuberoa Aznarez and Sander Zoer. Tragul is musically an innovative band, exploring new non-traditional worlds when it comes to getting their music heard. Tragul’s releases come in a unique “song-by-song” format and even with its brief musical path, the band is recognized for its potential. Since June 2017, the band has released 9 singles, widely acclaimed by critics.

In 2019 and parallel to Tragul, Adrian started the production of his most ambitious project: a debut album, writing all the lyrics, concept and all music by himself.

 

The album also includes the participation of Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, Radiant), Henning Basse (Firewind), Zuberoa Aznarez (Diabulus in Musica, Tragul) together with a base line up from Paraguay that includes Sebastian Ramirez (d) and Diego Bogarín (g, Tragul).

 

One very important feature of the Paraguayan’s debut album is that it’s a conceptual one with a profound meaning, about the tale of an unredeemed soul's journey from the depths of its own hell to the edge of inner paradise, seeking self-realization. You can say this album gives an insight into the human journey itself, the ups and downs, finally finding the light at the end of the tunnel.

“The Revenant” was produced by Adrian Benegas, and mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen, except for track 1, “Servants Of The Death” which was mixed by Alberto Bravin and mastered by Maor Appelbaum. Artwork by Carlos Fides @ Artside Studio.

Servants of the Death

 

That explosive entrance! And powerful! With excellent symphonic atmospheres in the background, Riffs and chords with melodic and very energetic guitars, a masterful keyboard, fast and with the powerful voice Ralf Scheepers!

 

Cadavria

 

Symphonic and dark entry, the guitar chord and that dense and very strong drums give it good drama, Henning Basse's voice sounds great and very creepy! And with the beautiful voice of Zuberoa Aznárez with a perfect Aria, what a great song! The symphonic atmosphere is excellent! And more with those changes of rhythm and choirs that accompany the track!

 

Face to Face

 

Excellent entry! Power Metal at its best! With the voice in a different and melodic musical context of Henning Basse and in the company of the voice of Zuberoa, guitars and heavy drums and that keyboard that suddenly makes presence is brutal the sound! I love that sound and dark style of this song!

 

The Enemy Within

 

Power and melody, Strength and rhythm! The voice of Herbie Langhans is epic, this track is even faster than the previous ones at times! Guitars / Drums / Keyboards all with exceptional strength and presence.

 

Inferno

 

Beautiful entrance with the background voice of Zuberoa! Melody and Rhythm together, Henning's voice gives a lot of personality and power to the Musical Infierno! that this super song gives us! Next to a very well managed keyboard of our friend Adrian!

 

A Change of Heart

 

A totally different song, calmer and more relaxed, acoustic with the piano company, longer musical notes and a more sublime voice of Herbie Langhans, a good ballad that they leave us.

 

Carrier of the Sunlight

 

We return with rhythm and melody with the voice of Herbie! Slower chords, blunt guitars and drums, live and present keyboards, perfect riff musical passages in the company of other exceptional musical instruments!

 

The Light of my Dreams

 

A soft input with harmonious keyboard followed by dense guitars, drums and a perfect keyboard in the background, the voice of Herbie Langhans super great, adapts perfectly to different musical combinations and rhythm together!

 

The Revenant

 

And closing strong! With the name of the album! What power of those devilish and very fast guitars! Again we have a genuine power metal accompanied by keyboards and fast battery, I love that gallop! Herbie Langhans shatters this song! Excellent!

 

My Recomendation

 

It is a solo debut album more than saying very well done and worked! Adrián Benegas already has a name and is recognized with the Tragul band, for the unique releases each and theme which we have met with excellent musical elaboration.

 

It is a conceptual album, it is not continuous every song is a different story with its composition and style, the picture of each song shows very well! In addition to giving that dramatic character according to the voice that lets us hear!

 

"The Revenant" is a musical bomb with an excellent Power / Symphonic Metal style and a bit of Progressive Metal! For the changes of tempo and challenging compositions and with their own styles, and an excellent and surprising ballad with "A Change Of Heart" with Langhans in the voice and Adrian in the company of the keyboard.

 

With very melodic synthesizer arrangements, persistent and dramatic piano in several songs and keyboard solos that make a perfect ensemble with heavy and intense riffs, with a galloping rhythm like closing the brutal album! , The Revenant is an impressive album, with a well-orchestrated musical mastery, melodic and symphonic power metal that will blow your ears!

 

The Voice

 

Excellent !!! Combinations operatic and soft Voices like the Aria of our friend Zuberoa! And the dramatic range and with an extensive long melodic and musical length of Herbie Langhans (Avantasia), Henning Basse gives a rough and dark touch for very rewarding moments! Like with the voice of Scheepers.

Adrián Benegas, compositor, teclista y empresario, nació el 1 de marzo de 1989 en Asunción, Paraguay. Principalmente conocido por ser el fundador del proyecto internacional de metal TRAGUL. Comenzó su carrera en la música cuando creó su primer proyecto de metal llamado Pergana en 2008, que lanzó dos EP. En 2015, fundó Abracadabra, un proyecto de metal sinfónico con Emilie Ragni (Luca Turilli) en la voz. Abracadabra lanzó dos EP, "Forbidden Magic" (2015) y "Samhain Night" (2016).

 

Un año después, Adrián fundó Tragul y entró en la escena profesional contratando a algunos grandes artistas para colaborar con él, como Alex Holzwarth, Oliver Holzwarth (Blind Guardian), Steve Conley, Zuberoa Aznarez y Sander Zoer. Tragul es musicalmente una banda innovadora, que explora nuevos mundos no tradicionales cuando se trata de escuchar su música. Los lanzamientos de Tragul vienen en un formato único "canción por canción" e incluso con su breve camino musical, la banda es reconocida por su potencial. Desde junio de 2017, la banda ha lanzado 9 singles, ampliamente aclamados por la crítica.

 

En 2019 y paralelamente a Tragul, Adrián comenzó la producción de su proyecto más ambicioso: un álbum debut, escribiendo todas las letras, el concepto y toda la música por sí mismo.

 

El álbum también incluye la participación de Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Herbie Langhans (Avantasia, Radiant), Henning Basse (Firewind), Zuberoa Aznarez (Diabulus in Musica, Tragul) junto con una línea base de Paraguay que incluye a Sebastian Ramirez (d) y Diego Bogarín (g, Tragul).

 

Una característica muy importante del álbum debut paraguayo es que es conceptual y tiene un significado profundo, sobre la historia del viaje de un alma no redimida desde las profundidades de su propio infierno hasta el borde del paraíso interior, buscando la autorrealización. Se puede decir que este álbum da una idea del viaje humano en sí, los altibajos, y finalmente encuentra la luz al final del túnel.

 

"The Revenant" fue producido por Adrián Benegas, y mezclado y masterizado por Jacob Hansen, a excepción de la pista 1, "Servants Of The Death", que fue mezclada por Alberto Bravin y masterizado por Maor Appelbaum. Ilustraciones de Carlos Fides @ Artside Studio.

Qué entrada tan explosiva! Y poderosa! Con excelentes atmosferas sinfónicas de fondo, Riffs y acordes con guitarras melódicas y muy enérgicas, un teclado magistral, rápida y con la poderosa voz Ralf Scheepers!

 

Cadavria

 

Entrada sinfónica y oscura, el acorde de guitarra y esa batería densa y muy contundente le dan buen dramatismo, la voz de Henning Basse suena genial y muy espeluznante! Y con la bella voz de Zuberoa Aznárez con una Aria perfecta, que buena canción! La atmosfera sinfónica es excelente! Y más con esos cambios de ritmo y coros que acompañan a la pista!

 

Face to Face

 

Excelente entrada! Power Metal en su máxima expresión! Con la voz en un contexto musical diferente y melódico de  Henning Basse y en compañía de la voz de Zuberoa, guitarras y baterías pesadas y ese teclado que de repente hace presencia es brutal el sonido! Me encanta ese sonido y estilo oscuro de esta canción!

 

The Enemy Within

 

Que entrada! Potencia y melodía, Fuerza y ritmo! La voz de Herbie Langhans es épica, esta pista es aun creo más rápida que las anteriores por momentos! Guitarras/Batería/Teclados todos con una fuerza y presencia excepcional.

 

Inferno

 

Bellísima entrada con la voz de fondo de Zuberoa! Melodía y Ritmo en conjunto, la voz de Henning le da mucha personalidad y potencia al Infierno Musical que nos brinda esta súper canción! Junto a un teclado muy bien manejado de nuestro amigo Adrián!

 

A Change of Heart

 

Una canción totalmente diferente, más tranquila y relajada, acústica con la compañía de piano, notas musicales más largas y una voz más sublime de Herbie Langhans, una buena balada que nos dejan.

 

Carrier of the Sunlight

 

Volvemos con ritmo y melodía con la voz de Herbie! Acordes más lentos, guitarras y batería contundente, teclados vivos y presentes, perfectos pasajes musicales de riffs en compañía de los demás instrumentos musicales excepcional!

 

The Light of my Dreams

 

Una entrada suave con teclado armonioso seguido de guitarras densas, batería y de fondo un teclado perfecto, la voz de Herbie Langhans súper genial, se adapta perfecto a diferentes combinaciones musicales y ritmo en conjunto!

 

The Revenant

 

Y cerrando fuerte! Con el nombre del albúm! Que potencia de esas guitarras endemoniadas y muy veloces! Otra vez tenemos un power metal genuino acompañado de teclados y batería rápida, me encanta ese galope! Herbie Langhans hace pedazos esta canción! Excelente!

 

Mi Recomendación

 

Es un albúm debut en solitario más que decir muy bien hecho y trabajado! Adrián Benegas ya tiene un nombre y es reconocido con la banda Tragul, por los lanzamientos únicos cada uno y tema la cual los hemos conocido con una excelente elaboración musical.

 

Es un albúm conceptual, no es continuo cada canción es una historia diferente con su composición y estilo, la estampa de cada canción se muestra muy bien! Además de darle ese carácter dramático de acuerdo a la voz que nos deja escuchar!

 

"The Revenant", es una bomba musical con un estilo Power/Symphonic Metal excelente y un poco de Metal Progresivo! Por los cambios de tempo y composiciones desafiantes y con estilos propios, y una balada excelente y sorpresiva con "A Change Of Heart" con Langhans en la voz y Adrián en compañía del teclado.

 

Con arreglos de sintetizador muy melódicos, piano persistente y dramático en varias canciones y solos de teclado que hacen un perfecto conjunto con riffs pesados e intensos, con un ritmo galopante como al cerrar el albúm brutal! , The Revenant es un álbum impresionante, con una maestría musical bien orquestada, power metal melódico y sinfónico que te volara los oídos!

 

La Voz

 

Excelentes!!! Combinaciones Voces Operísticas y suaves como el Aria de nuestra amiga Zuberoa! Y el rango dramático y con un extenso largo melódico y musical de Herbie Langhans (Avantasia), Henning Basse le da un toque rudo y oscuro por momentos muy gratificante! Al igual con la voz de Scheepers.
