ENEMY OF REALITY, the symphonic metal act from Greece, having released two full-length albums (under the Belgian FYB Record label) 'REJECTED GODS' (2014) & 'ARAKHNE' (2016), have received warm and positive reviews for their powerful live- stage presence throughout Europe.

 

Their sound is melodic and majestic, featuring soprano Iliana Tsakiraki as their front-woman (known from her participation in "The Great Mass" by SepticFlesh). They have participated in a number of European festivals along with various artists such as Arch Enemy, Epica, Lacuna Coil, και Anathema,Τarja, Saturnus, Leaves Eyes, Tristania, Xandria.

My Recomendation

The album starts with whispers and atmospheric and dark environment, excellent form of musical entrance with discreet piano notes like in a horror movie! desolate and then the song begins to build by adding drums, strings and bass, and thus to introduce Downfall the musical piece with the same musical line the track has a good riff, chords and a rhythm with excellent orchestration in certain passages and the combination of voices, with the power of Iliana and the choirs that accompany her, At The Edge Of Madness has a melodic and fanciful folk style, Iliana's clean voice gives it a sublime and simple touch, the song itself reminds us a little to other great Dutch symphonic metal bands with somewhat similar tempos and passages and when Iliana's beautiful voice raises her range, in The Vineyard Song ripped off in a fierce way with a bit of power metal in its essence and symphonic sequences in the background gives it a quite remarkable stamp of the band's own style, in Serenade Of Death another song with that mixture of arabesque musical styles, especially in the arrangement of strings and guitar from the Middle East and the voice of Iliana! In Tears Of Echo with a heavier start on those musical entrance chords, The mix of heavy rhythm and lighter orchestration is magnificently done and those bass passages too, and to finish this album on Baptized In Fire, The drums and the bass start this super close where they merge perfectly and with rhythm, tempo and melody, like this for a long time until the song enters the beautiful voice of Iliana and guttural type voices in the first part, the mix and superimposition of clean voices and rough adapt and give good balance to the song, with a very notable riff.

 

The album has varied elements of power/symphonic metal/goth and certain tempos of progressive metal the songs are consistent, one line and musical rhythm being one continuous album in each song mixing styles and crossing genres as easily as possible without loss of identity, creating a killer fusion of dark, atmospheric, melodic tones and varied textures with a voice between classic, clean and natural, perhaps a little more musical explosiveness would be even better!

El albúm comienza con susurros y ambiente atmosférico y oscuro, excelente forma de entrada musical con notas discretas de piano como en una película de terror! desoladas y a continuación la canción comienza a construirse agregando batería, cuerdas y bajo, y así para dar entrada a Downfall la pieza musical con la misma línea musical la pista tiene buen riff, acordes y un ritmo con una excelente orquestación en ciertos pasajes y la combinación de voces, con la potencia de Iliana y los coros que le acompañan, At The Edge Of Madness tiene un estilo folk melódico y fantasioso, la voz limpia de Iliana, le da un toque sublime y sencillo, la canción en si nos recuerda un poco a otras de grandes bandas del metal sinfónico holandesas con unos tempos y pasajes algo semejantes y cuando la bella voz de Iliana eleva su registro, en The Vineyard Song arrancado de forma aguerrida con un poco de power metal en su esencia y las secuencias sinfónicas de fondo le da un sello bastante notable del estilo propio de la banda, en Serenade Of Death otra canción con esa mezcla de estilos musicales arabescos sobre todo en el arreglo de cuerdas y guitarra de Oriente Medio y la voz de Iliana! En Tears Of Echo con un inicio de mayor pesadez en esos acordes de entrada musical, La mezcla de ritmo pesado y orquestación más ligera está magníficamente hecha y esos pasajes de bajo también, y para finalizar este álbum en Baptised In Fire, La batería y el bajo inician este súper cierra donde se fusionan perfectamente y con ritmo, tempo y melodía, así por un buen tiempo hasta que la canción entra la bella voz de Iliana y voces tipo guturales en la primera parte, la mezcla y la superposición de voces limpias y ásperas se adaptan y dan buen balance a la canción, con un riff muy notable.

 

El albúm tiene elementos variados de power/ metal sinfónico/ goth y ciertos tempos de progressive Metal las canciones son consistentes, de una sola línea y ritmo musical siendo un albúm continuo en cada canción mezclando estilos y cruzando géneros con la mayor facilidad posible sin pérdida de identidad, creando una fusión asesina de tonos oscuros, atmosféricos, melódicos y texturas variadas con una voz entre lo clásico, limpio y natural, quizás un poco de mayor explosividad musical sería aún mejor!
