Anniken has been a part of the Norwegian heavy metal scene for years with her band Darkest Sins, the studio project Ana – Metal for Charity, as well as being a part of her husband Marius Danielsen’s trilogy Legend of Valley Doom, both in the studio and with the live band. While in Darkest Sins she opened for bands such as Anthrax, Jorn, TNT, and UDO along with Legend of Valley Doom she has worked with legendary musicians such as Ralf Scheepers, Amanda Somerville, Roland Grapow, Matt Barlow, Doogie White, Jennifer Batten, and also actor John Rhys-Davies from the Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones movies.

Writing her own songs and having a profound love of lyrics, Anniken is now progressing into her solo endeavours. A few of the songs on "Climb Out of Hell" are co-written with her husband Marius Danielsen.

Anniken comments about her first full-length:

"To release my solo album is both incredibly exciting and completely terrifying at the same time. As part of a band, you do not feel as vulnerable. But here I stand alone. Completely exposed and I really hope that people will love this album as much as I do. It is not quite the same as any of my former projects. This is just me, just Anniken. My songs, my stories. It doesn’t easily fit into one specific metal subgenre, but I don’t like being labeled anyway. I wanted the album to be melodic and heavy with hints of all my inspirations such as Metallica, Pink, Iron Maiden, and Linkin Park, while at the same time not sounding like any of them."

Strong, heavy chords, with intermediate tempos, hard sound and rhythm, but in those intermediate passages we have a more melodic change of rhythm.

Climb Out of Hell

Starting with a line of chords with serious, heavy and rhythmic scales, which later makes the song more melodic and harmonious.

Back Then

An acoustic line accompanies the song's introduction, slow, long, soft rhythms and a short ballad style accompanied by harmonious choruses between her voice and the chorus.

Just Walk

Coming back with a bit of Glam/Rock with eighties style! Sharp chords in that line of guitars with slightly more abrupt tempos between guitars and drums.

Keep the Light

Continuing with the style, harmony, tempos and power of Just Walk we now have a bit of both heavy and heavy rock styles with this song! With that forcefulness in the chords.

Star

Totally another change of rhythm and style, this song even softer, lighter, more rhythmic and instrumental, I think that now I could say that it is the ballad of the album with all the domain in the beautiful voice of Anniken.

No Name

We return to the changes of style and speed, a little more melodic heavy metal with those background harmonies and rhythm in the tempos that remind us of even more melodic bands.

Save Us

Continuing with that combination of changes of rhythm between some frantic and others very soft and light! Another soft song and with that romantic passion in the instruments and her voice.

Amplified

And closing as a style, strength, heaviness, and the line of chords ahead in a dense way and with a serious scale, the drums accompanying with medium to slow tempos, and those riffs and solos that we can delight in many of the songs.

My Recomendation

Anniken releases this album full of power and heaviness with a lot of Heavy/Melodic/Rock Metal, the chords or the guitar line is the most powerful and ahead first, with tempos in between, a little faster at other times and slower like at the two songs a little more acoustic and ballads, with excellent solos and very well fitted, sharp and passionate riffs! Keyboards can be heard in some of the songs and we can hear a bit of the influence of a bit of power metal as in No Name, an album with style and time, reminding us of Doro Pesch or Joan Jett & The Blackhearts as an example, a good album full of Heavy Metal! That not only combines metal musical styles but also in the voices, from soft choirs to gutturals that give the song more darkness and her beautiful voice is the bright and melodic part.

Anniken ha sido parte de la escena del heavy metal noruego durante años con su banda Darkest Sins, el proyecto de estudio Ana - Metal for Charity, además de ser parte de la trilogía de su esposo Marius Danielsen, Legend of Valley Doom, tanto en el estudio como en con la banda en vivo. Acordes contundentes, pesados, con tempos intermedios, sonido y ritmo duro, pero en esos pasajes intermedios tenemos un cambio de ritmo más melódico.

Climb Out of Hell

Iniciando con una línea de acordes con escalas graves, pesados y rítmicos, que posteriormente se va haciendo más melódica la canción y armoniosa.

Back Then

Una línea acústica acompaña la introducción de la canción, ritmos lentos, largos, suaves y con un estilo breve de balada acompañada de coros armoniosos entre la voz de ella y el coro.

Just Walk

Volviendo con un poco de Glam/Rock con estilo ochentero! Acordes filosos en esa línea de guitarras con tempos un poco más abruptos entre las guitarras y batería.

Keep the Light

Continuando con el estilo, armonía, tempos y potencia de Just Walk tenemos ahora con esta canción un poco de ambos estilos pesado y heavy rock! Con esa contundencia en los acordes.

Star

Totalmente otro cambio de ritmo y estilo, aún más suave, ligera, rítmica e instrumental esta canción, creo que ahora si podría decir que es la balada del albúm con todo el dominio en la bella voz de Anniken.

No Name

Volvemos a los cambios de estilo y velocidad, un poco de más melodic heavy metal con esas armonías de fondo y ritmo en los tempos que nos recuerdan a bandas aún más melódicas.

Save Us

Continuando con esa combinación de cambios de ritmo entre unos frenéticos y otros muy suaves y ligeros! Otra canción suave y con esa pasión romántica en los instrumentos y la voz de ella.

Amplified

Y cerrando como estilo, fuerza, pesadez, y la línea de acordes por delante de manera densa y con una escala grave, la batería acompañando con tempos medios a lentos, y esos riff y solos que en muchas de las canciones podemos deleitarnos.

Mi Recomendación

Anniken lanza este albúm lleno de potencia y pesadez con mucho Heavy/Melodic/Rock Metal, los acordes o la línea de guitarras es la más potente y por delante primero, con tempos entre medios, un poco más rápidos en otros momentos y lentos como en las dos canciones un poco más acústicas y baladas, con excelente solos y riffs muy bien encajados, filosos y pasionales! Teclados podemos escuchar en algunas de las canciones y podemos escuchar un poco de la influencia de un poco de power metal como en No Name, un albúm con estilo y época, recordándonos como a Doro Pesch o a Joan Jett & The Blackhearts como ejemplo, un buen albúm lleno de Heavy Metal! Que no solo combina estilos musicales de metal sino también en las voces, desde coros suaves hasta guturales que le dan más oscuridad a la canción y la bella voz de ella es la parte brillante y melódica.
