Musa Mexican this week! told us a little about her and the new album of this 2014! of the Mexican Band, Raven of Poe, our beautiful and talented friend Brenda Gaviño! 

 

Whose passions are music, traveling, social sciences, literature and cinema. In Guadalajara, Mexico. 

 

With influences from classic rock, progressive rock, blues, metal, chamber music and contemporary music 

 

Hello! My friend, thank you very much!! For this opportunity! What have you done lately to share with us!

 

 

Hello my friend! thanks for this opportunity. tell us, what have you done all this time? what plans do you have?

 

Greetings to "Female Metal" and thank you very much for this interview. I'm still working with "El cuervo de poe" and also with another project called "Ritmos de la noche".

 

I'm the main singer in a prehispanic performance very interesting that combines dance, acrobats, fire and music al live. I have the opportunity of work directly with artists of the Cirque du soleil and of be trained with famous musicians and choreographers, they have worked with international artists like Madonna and Aerosmith.

 

I'm very excited with this new project in which i'm working full time.

 

What surprises will have el cuervo de poe for us this 2014?

 

This 2014 we have been composing our next album, the songs have a tendency of progressive rock, with experimental sounds and world music.

We have already sketched the ideas and we are expecting for make them true.

 

Tell us about "auspicium", your live cd of this year.

 

"Auspicium" is a record that was recorded at live in our native town, Guadalajara.

This includes songs of the "Del voy corvus" and "Exlibis", i recommend you to listen it, because it has a great sound, besides it is our first mateial at live.

You can listen few fragments and buy it easily at itunes, besides its price is quite low.

 

What is the thematic of the cd? where does the idea come?

 

We wanted to share you all our energy at the stage with this album.

The thing we mostly enjoyed to do as a band is to be with the people, giving ourselves in each note and make with our live presentations an explosion of sounds, energy and feelings.

This album was a condensation of it.

 

Tell us about the tracklist, is there something new or special?

 

That's right, there are many songs that our fans love and always are asking for.

W e wanted to make an intro to "Mascaras" and we eill make a cover of the song "Sweet dreams" of Eurythmics.

Actually, we didn't think about it, ina rehearsal Vicente and i begin to play with that song.

 

There will be a new videoclip?

 

We don't have the intention of make a new video but you can find in YouTube the videoclips from "No fears" and "El jardín".

 

What does the name of your album mean?

 

"Auspicium" it means "the birds flight". We wanted a name involved in looking forward and transcend. Nothing better than what we are, birds and crows.

 

What would you consider most important at writing a song and at interpreting it? the lyric, music, voice, talent or power?

 

Not many bands get all those characteristics. It must be a balance.

A natural talent is always appreciated, if it is a polished talent and educated, there is much more interpretative richness. In a good singer, there always will be present this elements.

In a genre like the metal, the image plays an important roll because the people need to identify themselves with visual elements, even with the clothes.

I think that is the most important thing in this media.

 

What do you think about the goth scene in mexico?

 

I think the people is very faithful, i really appreciate them because they give the opportunity to new projects, that speaks very well of the opening of Mexico.

The only that are missing, are inversion, experience and vision from the people who organized the events.

I think the people have to show their support, going to the shows and buying tickets, buying cds.

In that way, the artistic scene will grow.

 

How was the event in mexico city the past saturday april 5, in the circo volador?

 

It was such a great night as always in Mexico city.

Arie di mortte invited us to her aniversary and the people really surprised us.

We felt very glad with every person who received us so well. We hope to go back soon, the audience is really charming.

 

What do you think abou the cancellation of the hell and heaven fest?

 

I think is very sad this happened. Mexico is an emerging country of rock and when i knew this festival would be here, i thouhgt that it was a great step for music in Mexico.

Unfortunately, there was interest from certain kind of people and mediatic powers, that interfered with this project.

I blame to the ignorance and greed, i hope the next version of this festival can finally carry out.

Esta semana una Musa Mexicana! nos dijo un poco de ella y de su nuevo album de este 2014! de la Banda Mexicana el Cuervo de Poe, nuestra hermosa y talentosa amiga Brenda Gaviño!

 

Cuyas pasiones son la música, los viajes, las ciencias sociales, las letras y el cine, de Guadalajara.

 

Con Influencias de rock clásico, rock progresivo, blues, metal, música de cámara, música y contemporánea

 

Hola!! Mi amiga, muchas gracias!!!! Por esta oportunidad! Como has estado Brenda! Que has hecho últimamente comparte con nosotros!

 

Cuéntanos que ha hecho Brenda es todo este tiempo musicalmente, que planes tienes?

 

Saludos a Female Metal y muchas gracias por esta entrevista. Además de seguir con El Cuervo de Poe, estoy trabajando en un espectáculo llamado Ritmos de la Noche. Es un performance de corte prehispánico muy interesante que combina danza, acrobacia, fuego y música en vivo, en el cual soy la cantante. Tengo la oportunidad de trabajar directamente con artistas del Cirque du Soleil y ser entrenada para escenario por músicos y coreógrafos muy reconocidos a nivel internacional que también han trabajado con artistas de gran talla como Madonna, Aerosmith, etc. Estoy muy entusiasmada con este nuevo proyecto, en el cual estoy casi de tiempo completo.

 

Que sorpresa nos tienes junto al Cuervo de Poe en este 2014?

 

Este 2014 nos hemos dedicado a componer lo que será nuestro siguiente álbum. Los temas tienen una tendencia al rock progresivo, con sonidos experimentales y World music… Ya tenemos bosquejos y esperamos que pronto podamos aterrizar todas nuestras ideas en el estudio!

 

Cuéntanos un poco de ‘’Auspicium’’, su disco en vivo de este año?

 

Auspicium es un disco que se grabó en vivo en nuestra ciudad natal, Guadalajara. En él se incluyen temas Del Vox Corvus y Ex Libris… les recomiendo mucho que lo escuchen porque tiene un gran sonido, además de que es nuestro primer trabajo en vivo. Se pueden escuchar fragmentos y comprar fácilmente en Itunes, además de que el precio es muy accesible.

 

Cuál es la temática del disco? Y de dónde surge la idea o proyecto?

 

Quisimos plasmar toda nuestra entrega y energía que tenemos en el escenario en un álbum. Lo que más disfrutamos hacer como banda es estar frente a la gente, entregándonos en cada nota y haciendo de nuestras presentaciones en vivo una explosión de sonidos, energía, conexión y sentimientos, todo a la vez. Este álbum fue una condensación de ello.

 

Cuéntanos del Tracklist, tienen buenos hits musicales, de las cuales puedo ver, alguno en especial o nuevo?

 

Así es, tiene todas las canciones que los fans de Cuervo disfrutan y siempre nos piden. Quisimos hacer un intro para “Máscaras” y se pensó en un recurso que ya teníamos ganas de explorar, un pequeño cover. “Sweet Dreams” de Eurythmics fue el elegido. En realidad no lo pensamos mucho, simplemente en un ensayo comenzamos Vicente y yo a jugar con la canción y se quedó por prestarse a ligarla con Máscaras.

 

Habrá un video clip extra?

 

Además de No fears y El Jardin, que pueden encontrarlos en Youtube, ya no hay planes de grabar otro más de esta presentación. Ya vamos a lo siguiente.

 

Que significa el nombre del disco? Que hay detrás de ese significado?

 

Auspicium, significa “El vuelo de las aves”. Queríamos un nombre que tuviera que ver con el avanzar, el trascender, y que mejor que uno que tuviera que ver con lo que somos, aves, Cuervos.

 

 

Que consideras más importante, al escribir una canción y al interpretarla, lirica, música, voz, talento o potencia/presentación musical?

 

Porque no muchos grupos juntan eso Creo que debe haber un balance de todo. Un talento natural siempre es apreciado, pero si además es un talento pulido y educado, hay mucha más riqueza interpretativa. En un buen cantante todos estos elementos deben estar presentes. Además en un género como el metal la imagen juega un papel muy importante, porque a la gente de la escena le gusta identificarse con elementos visuales, somos personas a las que nos atrae sentirnos identificados hasta con nuestra manera de vestir. Esto claro que no es lo más importante, pero creo que es un recurso muy socorrido en este medio.

 

 

Qué opinas de la escena Goth en México?

 

Creo que a nivel público la gente es muy fiel, yo en lo personal aprecio mucho que sean tan leales a las bandas que cantamos en español y que siempre le den la oportunidad a nuevos proyectos, eso habla muy bien de la apertura que tiene la escena nacional a lo hecho en México. Lo que si creo que falta, como muchas veces lo he mencionado es experiencia, inversión y visión por parte de los organizadores de los eventos. Y que la gente demuestre más su apoyo yendo a las tocadas, pagando un boleto, comprando discos. Sólo así se puede hacer crecer la escena artística y humanamente.

 

Que tal fue el evento en la Ciudad de México el pasado Sábado 5 de Abril, en el Circo Volador? Cuéntanos la experiencia!

 

 Fue una gran noche como siempre en la Ciudad de México. Fuimos invitados amablemente por Arie di Mortte a su aniversario y la gente nos sorprendió mucho. Muy entusiasmada, disfrutando el concierto al máximo y con una energía desbordante, nos sentimos muy contentos y agradecidos con cada persona que nos recibió tan bien, esperamos volver muy pronto, el público del DF es encantador!

 

Y en tu opinión, que piensas de la cancelación del H&H en México? 

 

Pienso que es muy lamentable que haya sucedido algo así. México es un país a penas emergente en el rubro del rock, y el que se hubiera planeado un festival a tal escala me pareció que era un gran paso para nuestro país. Desgraciadamente los intereses de ciertos poderes mediáticos y fácticos interfirieron en este gran proyecto, principalmente por la ignorancia y la codicia. Esperamos que la próxima versión si pueda llevarse a cabo y resulte un gran evento del que todos podamos disfrutar.
