Everlight a band originally from Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico. By participating in “Cicuta Band Battle” and winning, they received as a prize the recording of their first EP “Take me down”, material recorded on Cicuta Records by Raúl Rueda and with support in vocal production by Rick Loera.
"Never Gone" is a song recorded in 2018 in Behind The Mask Home Studio by the Granados brothers (Gian and Dante), this song is part of our new material and has also been our first official video (by Moon & Dragon Productions), this song is already on all available digital platforms.
The new EP will contain 6 songs and we hope to release it before the end of 2019 or early 2020, it will be full of powerful riffs, interesting rhythms and sounds that we hope will take you to enjoy this moment called: PRESENT.

Who is Beth Santillán! Tell us a little about yourself! Your life within Music!
Beth:
Oops! What a good question! I think it's going to be a while until I know who I really am, heh.
Inside the music I really wouldn't know where to start, when I was little I suddenly liked to sing to the music that my sisters had on the computer and also play with my cousins to dance and sing, however, it was never something in shape.
It was when I entered high school that I started playing acoustic guitar, in our school they made us choose between mandolin, flute or guitar and thanks to the fact that my sister Paulina no longer occupied her guitar and had left it in a corner of the house I left for this option, besides that I never learned to play the flute (hahaha). As the months went by I started taking classical guitar classes very close to home and in December I received an electric guitar as a gift.
It was at that time that my best friends and I decided to get together to play our favorite songs from that time and we met in the afternoons at my house, we moved the armchairs and made room for the amplifiers, it was funny because we did not have a bass player but three guitarists and a drummer, oh and nobody sang. Hence the need arose, so I switched to bass and vocals. This is how we formed our first band. Oscar, current guitarist and composer of Everlight was also there.
How did you come to be with this band and what does it mean to you?
Beth:
Arguably Everlight was born after several lineup changes to the first high school band, as well as name changes haha at some point we came to be called "Inexorably".
Everlight means energy to me, love of music, inspiration and constant search, it is something that all of us who make up the group have kept sharing over the years and that, with or without activity, keeps alive our desire to create.
Who are its members?
Beth:
Everlight is made up of Adrián Luján (drummer) and his brother Oscar Luján (guitarist and composer), Carlos Loera (guitarist) and Christian Rivera (Bassist)
Why Everlight, what does the name mean to you?
Beth:
I think each of them could tell you something totally different haha, at the time when we decided it was something that came up in a conversation on a car trip where Oscar and Adrián's father was also there, we were making combinations and listening to music, we liked how it sounded and stayed. For me it means constant expression.
Do you have vocal training?
Beth:
Yes, I could not tell you that in some music school, however I have taken classes in cultural centers and I have taken classes with private teachers, currently I am still taking them.

Excellent!
Tell us a little about the production of this EP, because until now the production was completed?
Beth:
Wow, there are a lot of variables, in fact Everlight had several breaks and as each of the members grew, it was no longer as easy to meet to rehearse as when we were in middle school or high school, times were crossing us in a very strange, to list some; Our former bass player left for a swap and soon after I left too, Óscar was taking classes and working, Adrián was halfway through the race. Just as Charly and Chris were also on various topics.
Fortunately, we stayed together and thanks to that we took up rehearsals, changed the logo, and began to look for events in which to introduce ourselves, as well as working on the new songs and the sound of each one of us. We changed and the sound changed.
Did you write the songs? Do you have some appearances from other national vocalists?
Beth:
Speaking of lyrics and vocal melodies, yes, the music is not written by me, it is mainly written by Oscar and all the members of Everlight share ideas and as we move through the ensembles we make changes and adaptations, so that each one enjoys the result more.
Yes, there are collaborations in this new EP.
Will the EP have any official videos?
Beth:
Yes, that is the plan, take more videos, however, it is likely that they will take a little more time since with the assembly of the new EP and other expenses we are saving to be able to do them as we are imagining them.
What is the concept of your EP? Do you have a theme in which the songs were made?
Beth:
Yes, it is mainly focused on the present, so the title of it, it could be said that all the songs talk about the previous events that lead us to be what we are today. It could be said that the album also talks about growing.
Beth Santillán what shows us this 2020 within the Mexican national scene with Everlight?
Beth:
This year, something that has taken a lot of effort to achieve is finally materialized, we share what we are and the sound that makes us vibrate. We really don't know how it will be taken on the scene, however we are very happy with the result of each song and we want to share it with more people. Also start playing in more places.
Do you have any tour within the Mexican Republic soon? Any upcoming date of a presentation?
Beth:
Yes, that is one of our goals, at the moment we are planning the official presentation of the EP and the tour to promote it.
Would you like to do a duet with a Mexican singer within the national rock / metal scene? Like who? Let her know!
Beth:
Oops! Of course i would love to! I admire and appreciate many singers on the scene, such as Anna Fiori who is the living proof of what the work can achieve, as well as Duan Marie as an example of career or Mariana Priego (from Elli Noise) as it was one of the first bands nationals I met when I was in high school.
Anything else you would like to share with us my friend?
Beth:
Thank you my friend, for allowing me to talk about Everlight and music, while I thought about the answers my skin tightened up remembering how everything started, how things changed and how music can transform us bringing us to this moment, without a doubt it is one of the most powerful forces on this planet, and as long as there is life, let there be music.

Everlight una banda originaria de Tlalnepantla, Estado de México. Al participar en “Cicuta Band Battle” y ganar recibieron como premio la grabación de su primer EP “Take me down” material grabado en Cicuta Records de Raúl Rueda y con apoyo en la producción vocal por parte de Rick Loera.
“Never Gone” es una canción grabada en 2018 en Behind The Mask Home Studio a cargo de los hermanos Granados (Gian y Dante), esta canción es parte de nuestro nuevo material y ha sido también nuestro primer video oficial (a cargo de Moon & Dragón Producciones) , esta canción ya se encuentra en todas las plataformas digitales disponibles.
El nuevo EP contendrá 6 canciones y esperamos lanzarlo antes del término de 2019 o inicios de 2020, estará lleno de riffs poderosos, ritmos interesantes y sonidos que esperamos te lleven a disfrutar este momento llamado: PRESENTE.

Cuéntanos cómo has estado?
Beth:
Hola, al contrario, gracias a ti por la oportunidad, estoy súper, ¿Tú qué tal?
Darkzen:
Muy bien gracias!
Quién es Beth Santillán! Cuéntanos un poco de Ti! Tu vida dentro de la Música!
Beth:
¡Uy! ¡Qué buena pregunta! Creo que va a pasar un rato hasta que sepa quién soy realmente, je.
Dentro de la música realmente no sabría dónde comenzar, cuando era chiquita me gustaba de repente cantar con la música que mis hermanas tenían en la computadora y también jugar con mis primos a bailar y cantar , sin embargo, nunca fue algo en forma.
Fue cuando entre a la secundaria que empecé a tocar la guitarra acústica, en nuestra escuela nos hacían elegir entre mandolina, flauta o guitarra y gracias a que mi hermana Paulina ya no ocupaba su guitarra y la había dejado en un rincón de la casa me fui por esta opción, además de que nunca aprendí a tocar la flauta (jajaja). Conforme pasaron los meses empecé a tomar clases de guitarra clásica muy cerca de casa y en un diciembre recibí de regalo una guitarra eléctrica.
Fue en ese momento que mis mejores amigos y yo decidimos juntarnos para tocar nuestras canciones favoritas de esa época y nos reunimos en las tardes en mi casa, movíamos los sillones y hacíamos espacio para los amplificadores, era gracioso porque no teníamos bajista pero si tres guitarristas y un baterista, ah y nadie cantaba. De ahí surgió la necesidad, así que me pasé al bajo y a la voz. Así fue como formamos nuestra primera banda. Óscar, actual guitarrista y compositor de Everlight también estuvo ahí.
Cómo fue que llegaste con esta banda y que significa para ti?
Beth:
Podría decirse que Everlight nació después de varios cambios de alineación a la primer banda de la secundaria, así como cambio de nombres jaja en algún tiempo nos llegamos a llamar “Inexorable”.
Everlight significa para mí energía, amor por la música, inspiración y búsqueda constante, es algo que a todos los que integramos el grupo nos ha mantenido compartiendo a través de los años y que, con o sin actividad mantiene vivo nuestro deseo de crear.
Quienes son sus integrantes?
Beth:
Everlight está conformado por Adrián Luján (baterista) y su hermano Oscar Luján (guitarrista y compositor), Carlos Loera (guitarrista) y Christian Rivera (Bajista)
Porque Everlight, que significa el nombre para ustedes?
Beth:
Creo que cada uno de ellos te podría decir algo totalmente diferente jaja, en su momento cuando lo decidimos fue algo que surgió en una conversación en un viaje en carro donde también estaba el papá de Oscar y Adrián, íbamos haciendo combinaciones y escuchando música, nos gustó como sonó y se quedó. Para mi significa expresión constante.
Tienes entrenamiento vocal?
Beth:
Sí, no podría decirte que en alguna escuela de música, sin embargo he tomado clases en centros culturales y he tomado clases con profesores particulares, actualmente sigo tomándolas.
Darkzen:
Excelente!
Dinos un poco sobre la producción de este EP, porque hasta ahorita se concretó la producción?
Beth:
Híjole, son un montón de variables, en realidad Everlight tuvo varias pausas y conforme cada uno de los integrantes fuimos creciendo, ya no era tan fácil reunirnos a ensayar como cuando estábamos en la secundaria o preparatoria se nos fueron cruzando los tiempos de una manera muy extraña, por enlistar algunos; nuestro antiguo bajista se fue de intercambio y poco después también yo me fui, Óscar estaba tomando clases y trabajando, Adrián estaba a la mitad de la carrera. Así como Charly y Chris también estaban con varios temas.
Afortunadamente, seguimos juntos y gracias a eso retomamos ensayos, cambiamos el logotipo, y empezamos a buscar eventos en los cuales presentarnos, así como trabajamos en las nuevas canciones y el sonido de cada uno de nosotros. Nosotros cambiamos y el sonido cambió.
Escribiste las canciones? Tiene algunas participaciones de otros vocalistas nacionales?
Beth:
Hablando de letras y melodías vocales si, la música no la escribo yo, es escrita principalmente por Oscar y todos los integrantes de Everlight compartimos ideas y conforme avanzamos en los ensambles vamos haciendo cambios y adaptaciones, para que cada uno disfrute más el resultado.
Si, si hay colaboraciones en este nuevo EP.
Tendrá el EP algunos vídeos oficiales?
Beth:
Si, ese es el plan, sacar más vídeos, sin embargo, es probable que tomen un poquito más de tiempo ya que con la maquila del nuevo EP y demás gastos andamos ahorrando para poder hacerlos como los estamos imaginando.
Cuál es el concepto de su EP? Tiene algún tema en el cual se hicieron las canciones?
Beth:
Si, está enfocado principalmente en el presente, por eso el título del mismo, podría decirse que todas las canciones hablan sobre los sucesos previos que nos llevan a ser lo que somos hoy. Podría decirse que el albúm también habla de crecer.
Beth Santillán que nos muestra este 2020 dentro de la escena nacional mexicana con Everlight?
Beth:
Este año por fin se concreta algo que nos ha tomado mucho esfuerzo lograr, les compartimos lo que somos y el sonido que nos hace vibrar. Realmente no sabemos cómo será tomado en la escena, sin embargo, estamos muy felices con el resultado de cada canción y queremos compartirlo con más gente. También empezar a tocar en más lugares.
Tienes alguna gira dentro de la República Mexicana próximamente? Alguna fecha próxima de alguna presentación?
Beth:
Si, ese es una de nuestras metas, por el momento estamos planeando la presentación oficial del EP y el tour para la promoción del mismo.
Te gustaría hacer algún dueto con alguna cantante mexicana dentro de la escena del rock/metal nacional? Como quién? Que se entere!
Beth:
¡Uy! ¡Claro que me encantaría! admiro y aprecio a muchas cantantes de la escena, como a Anna Fiori quién es la prueba viva de lo que el trabajo puede lograr, así como Duan Marie como ejemplo de trayectoria o Mariana Priego (de Elli Noise) pues fue una de las primeras bandas nacionales que conocí cuando iba en la secundaria.
¿Algo más que nos quisieras compartir mi amiga?
Beth:
Darte las gracias amigo, por permitirme hablar sobre Everlight y la música, mientras pensaba en las respuestas mi piel se enchinaba recordando cómo todo comenzó, como las cosas cambiaron y cómo la música puede transformarnos trayéndonos a este momento, sin duda alguna es una de las fuerzas más poderosas de este planeta, y mientras haya vida, que haya música.
