Mardelas began simply as an independent solo effort by Marina Hebiishi. Upon leaving the popular all female band Destrose in 2014, Hebiishi released her first solo single “Daybreak/Phantasia,” which shot through Oricon top 10. With the success of her single, she was quickly signed to Japan’s major label King Records Nexus which includes artist Rock/Metal artist LA GUNS, W.A.S.P., TNT, IN THIS MOMENT, EXODUS, OVER KILL, SABATON, Journey, Gus G, and Onmyo-Za to name just a few.

However, Hebiishi wanted a band experience and joined forces with guitar shredder Kikyo Oikawa (ex-Sex Machineguns, Screaming Symphony), hard hitting power drummer Hideaki “HOT” Yumida (Light Bringer, ex- Saber Tiger), and bassist hibiki (also Light Bringer, Saber Tiger, ex-Silex). They debut their major release Mardelas I in 2015, which included the hit, “Eclipse.”

Mardelas II followed in 2016, and included the hit single “Thousand Cranes” and “ Kamikaze.”

Mardelas expanded on their musical talent in 2018, releasing Mardelas III, with the hit “World vs. Honor,” which a movie promotional video release was utilized, showcasing the underground world of Shinjuku Kabukicho. The album also featured the track “On the Lam” showing Hebiishi’s diverse vocal talent. Mardelas III also introduced their new bassist Hisayuki Motoishi (Screaming Symphony) replacing hibiki who left to focus on his position in Saber Tiger. Hisayuki Motoishi provides a very heavy & solid traditional bass approach that compliments the full sound of Mardelas.

With this year’s Ground ZERO, Mardelas decided on a back to heavy metal basics approach and includes the hit “Apocalypse.” The EP includes keyboardist Mao (Light Bringer) as a special guest performer. Ground Zero was released on May 22nd, 2019 and Mardelas will begin its headlining tour on June 1st in Nagoya, Japan.

Besides fronting the band Mardelas, Marina Hebiishi has also represented fashion brand, New Era modeling New Era lids in the top Heavy Metal magazine of Japan Burrn!. She is also the video host for the Japanese Heavy Metal Magazine “We Rock” with co-host Anchang from Sex Machineguns.

My Recomendation

Mardelas begins with a lot of melody, explosion and rhythm this new album with Burn Out! A markedly catchy and melodic rhythm, in Expendable we have a denser, heavier, rhythmic beat in combination with jrock, Marina's soft and powerful voice contrasts perfectly with the melodic changes and with the chords that change in speed, in Last Round Survivor we have an atmospheric start in the background but then the explosion of the guitars makes a phenomenal presence with background voices a little stronger at times, in The Fox and the Grapes we have a faster and more forceful attack of chords, riffs and drums, a little from melodic power metal is present! At G – Metal they had already presented us with this song on their EP with the style with which the new album was coming, Raccoon Party we have a very different and varied style, with more style, jrock rhythm! And so on until M.D.M.A closing strong with jrock power metal style! where the melodic rhythms are presented as in many of the previous songs of this new album by Mardelas! They leave us an album full of musicality, combining JRock/Heavy/Power metal with great skill, the strong parts of the band are the guitar lines, chords with good riffs and strong and catchy hooks, which together with the drums obtain great musical quality. , Mardelas leaves us a new production that intertwines dynamic and energetic J-Rock with Heavy / Power, a high-level production, production mixes and harmony!

The Voice

The beautiful and powerful voice of Marina Hebiishi is intense and forceful with a clean, soft and high register, which continues until the final part of the album.

Mardelas comenzó simplemente como un esfuerzo independiente en solitario de Marina Hebiishi. Al dejar la popular banda femenina Destrose en 2014, Hebiishi lanzó su primer sencillo en solitario, "Daybreak/Phantasia", que se ubicó en el top 10 de Oricon. Con el éxito de su sencillo, firmó rápidamente con el sello principal de Japón, King Records Nexus, que incluye artista de rock/metal LA GUNS, W.A.S.P., TNT, IN THIS MOMENT, EXODUS, OVER KILL, SABATON, Journey, Gus G y Onmyo-Za, por nombrar solo algunos.

​

Sin embargo, Hebiishi quería una experiencia de banda y unió fuerzas con el guitarrista Kikyo Oikawa (ex-Sex Machineguns, Screaming Symphony), el poderoso baterista Hideaki "HOT" Yumida (Light Bringer, ex-Saber Tiger), y el bajista hibiki (también Light Bringer, Saber Tiger, ex-Silex). Mardelas inicia con mucha melodía, explosión y ritmo este nuevo albúm con Burn Out! Un marcado ritmo pegadizo y melódico, en Expendable tenemos un compás más denso, pesado, rítmico en combinación de jrock, la suave y poderosa voz de Marina contrasta perfectamente con los cambios melódicos y con los acordes que cambian en velocidad, en  Last Round Survivor  tenemos un inicio atmosférico de fondo pero después la explosión de las guitarras hace presencia de manera fenomenal con voces de fondo un poco más fuertes de momentos, en The Fox and the Grapes tenemos un ataque más veloz y contundente de acordes, riffs y batería, un poco de melodic power metal se hace presente!  En G – Metal ya nos habían presentado esta canción en su EP con el estilo con el que el nuevo albúm venía en camino, Raccoon Party tenemos un estilo muy diferente y variado, con mayor estilo, ritmo de jrock! Y así hasta M.D.M.A cerrando fuerte con estilo jrock power metal! donde los ritmos melódicos se presentan como en muchas de las anteriores canciones de este nuevo albúm de Mardelas! Nos dejan un albúm lleno de musicalidad, combinando JRock/Heavy/ Power metal con gran habilidad, las partes fuertes de la banda son las líneas de guitarras, acordes con buenos riffs y ganchos fuertes y pegadizos, que junto a la batería obtienen gran calidad musical, Mardelas nos deja una nueva producción que entrelaza con J-Rock dinámico y enérgico con el Heavy /Power, una producción de alto nivel, producción mezclas y armonía!

La Voz

​

La bella y poderosa voz de Marina Hebiishi es intensa y contundente con un registro limpio, suave y alto, que se sigue manteniendo hasta la parte final del albúm.
