The Bitter Truth is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Evanescence. The recording process began in mid-January 2020.

A bit of the production "Wasted On You" was the first single announced by Evanescence on April 17, 2020. On the 24th it was released worldwide, and a few hours later the same would be done with its video clip. Previously, there was an exclusive premiere of the video for VH1 India. About the release of this song as the first single, Amy Lee explained in an interview for Blabbermouth that her initial goal was not to use this song, but that the isolation caused by the pandemic made them change their minds. Even though she did not compose the song expressly on that subject, the lyrics quite adjusted to what they felt at that time. Accompanying the song's premiere, a video clip was published the same day. This video clip is special because, for the first time, it was the five members of the band who recorded themselves with their iPhones in their own homes, from isolation. The second single, "The Game Is Over", was released in July. The band released two additional singles "Use My Voice" in August and "Yeah Right" in December.

My Recomendation

The new album of Evanescence is very good! "The Bitter Truth", the band's fifth album, I think we hear a bit of the old Evanescence again combining alternative metal, panoramic and mixed synthesizers, heavy, hard rhythm, low and very accented chords along with drums with heaviness and hardness , In most of the songs we find that beautiful sound between goth metal and goth rock too, making a great mix with atmospheric and instrumental parts such as piano parts, with certain key parameters that tend to be repeated as in some chords and guitar lines There are few riffs but they sound quite well coupled to their sound, after several years Amy Lee leaves us this great album, very well produced, musically well managed and clear with the lyrics which many of the fans will identify with, for the fans of Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Korn among other bands of the genre and style, the new album will catch you again!

The Voice

Amy Lee's voice is undoubtedly one of those consecrated within World Metal, in this new album the balance she has in her clean, low register with a bit of treble in some musical scales of her songs makes that great contrast and maintains the differentiates between the song and her voice, making both parts separate and thus each part shines on its own, the vocal and musical part.

The Bitter Truth (en español: La cruda realidad) es el quinto álbum de estudio de la banda de rock estadounidense Evanescence. El proceso de grabación se inició a mediados de enero del año 2020.

Un poco de la producción "Wasted On You" fue el primer sencillo anunciado por Evanescence el 17 de abril de 2020. El día 24 se estrenó mundialmente, y pocas horas más tarde se haría lo mismo con su videoclip. Previamente, se produjo un estreno en exclusiva del vídeo para VH1 India. Sobre el lanzamiento de esta canción como primer sencillo, Amy Lee explicó en una entrevista para Blabbermouth que su objetivo inicial no era usar esta canción, pero que la situación de aislamiento producida por la pandemia les hizo cambiar de parecer. Aun no habiendo compuesto la canción expresamente sobre ese tema, la letra se ajustaba bastante a lo que sentían en esos momentos. Acompañando al estreno de la canción, se publicó el mismo día un videoclip. Este videoclip resulta especial porque, por primera vez, fueron los cinco integrantes de la banda los que se grabaron con sus iPhones en sus propias casas, desde el aislamiento. El segundo sencillo, "The Game Is Over", se publicó en julio. La banda lanzó dos sencillos adicionales "Use My Voice" en agosto y "Yeah Right" en diciembre.

Una de las canciones con excelente entrada musical, lenta, pesada con tempos intermedios, acordes densos con un rock goth mayormente notable más en esta canción, la voz de Amy suave y grave, limpia y de registro amplio contrasta bastante bien.

Yeah right

Seguimos un poco con sonidos algo variados, un poco más rítmica y veloz la canción, con la misma potencia y densidad en toda la canción.

Feeding the dark

Tenemos un inicio musical atmosférico con el que la súper voz de Amy entra en acción! Acompañada de acordes fuertes de guitarras junto a la batería, manteniendo esa constancia en densidad y pesadez, ritmo lento sin perder esa pesadez característica.

Wasted on you

Otra de las canciones icónicas del nuevo albúm, una bella canción melancólica, quizás una semi balada, suave, ligera y con ritmo lento, con pasajes fuertes y densos en momentos álgidos de la canción.

Better without you*

Otra excelente canción con ese sello distintivo de Evanescence acordes pesados, lentos, duros, oscuros, con la bella voz de Amy melancólica, acompañada de su inseparable piano, sublime y cautivante sin duda.

Use my voice

Una de las canciones que causo revuelo, por el mensaje que aporta, musicalmente genial con un rock goth sutil, ligeros ganchos pop y estribillos, ritmo y melodía, la parte final con esos juegos de guitarra le dan más pesadez.

Take cover

Una tormenta rítmica de acordes, partes eléctricas y batería de forma continua, melódica y rítmica, que así sucesivamente en toda la pista.

Far from heaven

Que bella entrada musical, piano y la voz de Amy Lee con una claridad majestuosa, una bella canción con una parte instrumental muy bien arreglada en toda la pista.

Part of me

Volvemos con un sonido pesado, fuerte y duro! La voz de Amy se alza con fuerza y genialidad, acordes densos, rítmicos con paso fuerte.

Blind belief*

Excelente final, inesperado, atmosférico y después un abrupto golpe totalmente denso, fuerte, oscuro de batería y acordes junto con la voz de Amy dándole ese dramatismo único, pesadez y potencia.

Mi Recomendación

¡El nuevo albúm de Evanescence es muy bueno! «The Bitter Truth», el quinto álbum de la banda, Creo que volvemos a escuchar un poco al viejo Evanescence combinando metal alternativo, sintetizadores panorámicos y mezclados, ritmo pesado, duro, acordes graves y muy acentuados junto a la batería con pesadez y dureza, en la mayoría de las canciones encontramos ese sonido bello entre goth metal y rock goth también, haciendo una mezcla genial con partes atmosféricas e instrumentales como las partes de piano, con ciertos parámetros claves que suelen repetirse como en algunos acordes y líneas de las guitarras, riffs hay pocos pero suenan bastante bien acoplados a su sonido, después de varios años Amy Lee nos deja este gran albúm, muy bien producido, musicalmente bien manejado y claro con la letra la cual muchos de los fans se identificarán, Para los fans de Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Korn entre otras bandas del género y estilo, el nuevo albúm te atrapara otra vez!

La Voz

La voz de Amy Lee es sin duda una de las consagradas dentro del Metal Mundial, en este nuevo albúm el balance que tiene en su registro limpio, grave con un poco de agudos en algunas escalas musicales de sus canciones hace ese genial contraste y mantiene la diferencia entre la canción y su voz, haciendo que sean ambas partes por separado y así cada parte brilla por sí sola, la parte vocal y musical.
