Symphonic folk/power metal band ‘Eoten’ has members based in Portugal, UK and Ireland. Join them for the tale of the mighty king and his army as they head into battle against false friends and fearsome foes in order to claim The Golden Throne! with influences like Amon Amarth, Gloryhammer, Alestorm, Orden Ogan, Sabaton and Rhapsody Of Fire.

Hello guys! Thank you very much for having this opportunity and let your fans know about you!

Eoten band, first what does your name mean where does it come from?

Eoten

​

Eoten is an old word for "Titan". Basically, a giant from old legends.

​

In addition to your Symphonic Metal influences and other styles within metal, are there any different styles that you listen to too?

​

​

Tiago:

​

I listen to a lot of stuff on a daily basis because of my work as a music teacher. Whatever band or style the student may wish to learn, I have to listen to it. But Hard Rock, Blues, Medieval/Folk and I take Opera lessons so I have to listen to a lot of baroque music.

​

Ricardo:

​

Personally, other than symphonic metal, I usually listen to goth metal/rock, doom and black.

​

Aaron:

​

I tend to listen to mostly power metal but I also like punk rock, some metalcore etc.

​

Jesse:

​

I'm massively influenced by Megadeth and Iron Maiden personally. Both have a very strong prominence with the bass guitar with regards to how they write music. Both David Ellefson and Steve Harris are huge influences in the way I play and write. Add a heavy dose of folk metal and melodic death metal, and that's my angle.

Nick:

​

Beyond Symphonic and folk metal I draw on folk fiddle styles and my experience as a classical viola player to add my parts

​

Tell us your story as it emerges to create a band in this musical style?

The band really started when I [Aaron] began writing a song with influences of Sabaton and Orden Ogan. I then posted in a Facebook group called ‘The Folk Metal Grove’ asking if anyone else would be interested in starting a band. The first responses I got were from Jesse (bass) and Tiago (vocals). The band really started to take it’s shape from there. We soon gained Ricardo (keyboards) and nick (Violin) which helped evolve our sound into what we have now.

All of you are from various countries, do you have any problem recording or rehearsing, or in this case because of the pandemic, have you thought of doing a concert or presentation online?

We all record our own parts at home which then get sent to Aaron for mixing and mastering. This process seems to work well for us. We have discussed some ideas for performance videos so this is something that we may do in future.

​

Within this style, in addition to their musical influences, do you have any band or vocalist of your choice?

Now tell us about your single 'Kingdom Of Immortals' whose or who is the creation and lyrics of this song?

​

The demo for Kingdom of Immortals was written by both Aaron and Jesse. The demo was then handed to the rest of the band, where they added their ideas to bring the song to life.

​

I also know that they are working on their debut album, 'The Golden Throne', the single from Kingdom of Immortals is great! Will The Golden Throne Album have the same epic style?

The album will follow the same style as kingdom of Immortals, but of course there will be other influences in there as well!

​

Does the production of your debut album bring any surprises? As a duet or guest artist?

​

​

The album will feature a guest appearance in one song as well as some production work from Lasse Lammert.

​

Any preview of another video clip or single for your fans? Will it be soon or will it take a little longer?

The next single will be out on July 3rd however, we will be releasing a teaser for the song before that!

I think fans could ask: Any date for the other year or some date of a live on some social network and what would be the most probable social network?

We aim to have live releases through Facebook livestreams and YouTube Premieres to give our fans a chance to talk to us in person as everyone hears it for the first time.

​

Anything else you would like to share with your audience and fans?

We love what we do, but at the end of the day, the fans are our motivation to what we are doing. We want to thank them for listening to the stories we tell and the songs we play.

¡Hola chavos! ¡Muchas gracias por tener esta oportunidad y dejad que sus fans sepan de ustedes! Eoten Band, primero, ¿qué significa su nombre de dónde viene?

Eoten es una antigua palabra para "Titán". Básicamente, un gigante de viejas leyendas.

 

Además de sus influencias de Symphonic Metal y otros estilos dentro del metal, ¿hay algún estilo diferente que escuchen también?

Escucho muchas cosas diariamente debido a mi trabajo como profesor de música. Cualquier banda o estilo que el estudiante desee aprender, tengo que escucharlo. Pero Hard Rock, Blues, Medieval / Folk y yo tomamos lecciones de ópera, así que tengo que escuchar mucha música barroca.

 

Ricardo:

 

Personalmente, aparte del metal sinfónico, suelo escuchar goth metal / rock, doom y black.

 

Aaron:

 

Tiendo a escuchar principalmente power metal, pero también me gusta el punk rock, algunos metalcore, etc.

 

Jesse

 

Estoy masivamente influenciado por Megadeth y Iron Maiden personalmente. Ambos tienen una gran importancia con el bajo en cuanto a cómo escriben música.
