Greetings friends! these weeks I leave a great interview with a super singer from Brazil! Fernanda Hay! multifaceted singer with a very sublime voice and a statuesque beauty!

 

I leave this interview, leave you breathless!

You have a melodic, sensual, rhythmic voice, ¡a voice Rockera!, and ¡that exciting attitude!

 

Hello! ¿How are you, Fernanda?

 

-Hello!! I am awesome, hope you guys are (ok too)either!!

 

¿Who is Fernanda Hay? ¿How was your training musically?

 

-This is a hard one! I guess every day I discover and reinvent a little bit about me, but if you find out who I am, please tell me!!

 

   Well I started in music by playing the guitar when I was eight, later I started with the electric guitar then decided to learn violin and piano. When I realized I was singing in a band and had played bass in another one, but never really played for a band the instruments which I studied. So it was time to realize that I was actually a singer! (haha) By this time I started reading lots of books about voice, vocal physiology and later on teaching that. I don't know exactly when I started singing, but I guess it was even before I have learned to talk!

 

    Besides rock music, that has always been my number one, I have already sang in a chorus as a soprano, have sang operas and with some jazz, blues and MPB groups. I also have just graduated as a Music Bachelor.

 

¿What are your influences in Rock and Metal?

 

-There are so many! Quick list: Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Mr. Big, Glenn Hughes, Angra ….

 

 

¿What do you like to do in your free time?

 

-I love reading good books, writing poetry and tales, going to the gym, having great conversations with incredible people, spending time with the ones I love, climbing mountains, meditating, eating, cooking and inventing some recipes!

 

¿What kind of vocal training do you have?

 

-I have sang so many things and styles during my life it is really hard to name a technic, all my studies are based on physiology and empirical experiments.

 

¿What are your favorite bands within the Metal?

 

-Well, lately I have been listening a lot to Alter Bridge, but my top three used to be Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater.

 

¿Do you have another job or you dedicate yourself to something else?

 

-Besides being a musician I am a vocal coach. Maybe someday I will have the stuff that I write published, let`s see!

 

¿Do you write some songs in your band?

 

-I write mostly the lyrics.

 

You are very beautiful Fernanda. ¿Have you suffered any injury in the rock scene as front woman?

 

-Boy, sometimes girls get crazy, I was threatened several times! I even started thinking it as an unwanted hobby I have or something! (haha) When they do this sort of stuff  I fell like hugging them, that is kind of sad actually! But thanks for the compliment!

 

Tell us about Overdrive your band is interesting, you sound good like blues and jazz. Is the originality and the freedom to do something new an important part of the rock scene?

 

-I think music is about doing what your heart whispers and rock itself is doing whatever you want, so yes, absolutely! Freedom is very important and necessary! Fell it, do it, doesn't mind what people will think, be honest to yourself.

 

¿What does mean the Blues and jazz for you?

 

-it certainly touches deeply my soul.

 

 

¿How you joined Overdrive?

 

-I was called for a test, they liked it and here I am! I was the last one to join the band!

 

About your debut álbum, ¿How was the production? And you look very sexy on "Love Tricks" video! ¿What was the inspiration for that song?

 

-The production was independent, we did it all by ourselves! Life itself inspires us everyday, everybody has a moment to be sexy and to enjoy this characteristic of the being, discovering himself, to the other and experiencing sensations. This is what the music is about, life!

 

¿What can we expect from Overdrive in 2015? ¿New álbum?

 

-We had just launched a new videoclip for the song  Overdrive and we are releasing a new álbum filled with surprises this year! We are also changing the bands name, sooner or latter!

 

¿Currently, do you have any projects parallel to Overdrive?

 

-Yes, I am recording with a band from another city, and I am moving to Los Angeles for some months. But I can not tell you anymore about that right now, everybody should stay tuned to the news! hehe

 

¿What style do you prefer, Heavy, Goth, Symphonic, Power, or Melodic Death? And Why?

 

-Heavy, can not tell why, it just vibrates more with me!

 

¿Anything else you'd like to share with your fans, my friend?

Saludos amigos! estas semanas les dejo una gran entrevista con una súper cantante de Brasil! Fernanda Hay!  Cantante polifacética, con una voz muy sublime y una belleza escultural!

 

Aquí les dejo la entrevista, te dejara sin aliento!

 

Gracias por contestar estas preguntas, tienes una voz sensual, melódica y muy rítmica.

 

Cuéntanos, ¿Cómo estás?

 

Hola! Estoy increíble y espero que ustedes también!

 

¿Quién es Fernanda Hay? ¿Cómo fue tu entrenamiento vocal?

 

Es una pregunta difícil! Todos los días trato de descubrir un poco mas de mi y trato de reinventarme, si ustedes descubren quien soy, por favor díganmelo! Hehe.

 

Empecé en la música tocando la guitarra a los años, después empecé con la guitarra eléctrica y después decidí aprender a tocar piano y violín.

 

Tiempo después empecé a cantar para una banda y ya había tocado el bajo para otra, en ese momento me di cuenta de que en realidad lo mío era cantar.

 

Empecé a leer muchos libros sobre voz, psicología vocal y posteriormente empecé a dar clases.

 

No sé con exactitud en qué momento comencé a cantar pero supongo que fue incluso antes de haber aprendido a hablar. Además siempre me ha gustado el rock, he cantado como soprano en varios coros, he cantado opera y en grupos de jazz y blues.

 

¿Cuáles son tus influencias en el rock y el metal?

 

Hay muchas! Pero aquí va una lista rápida: Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, dream Theater, Mr. Big, Gleen Hughes y Angra.

 

¿Qué te gusta hacer en tu tiempo libre?

 

Me gusta leer buenos libros, escribir poesía y cuentos, ir al gimnasio, tener buenas conversaciones con gente asombrosa, pasar tiempo con mis seres queridos, escalara montañas, meditar, comer, cocinar e inventar recetas.

 

¿Qué tipo de entrenamiento vocal tienes?

 

He cantado tantas cosas y en tantos estilos diferentes que es difícil para mí nombrar una técnica, todos mis estudios están basados en psicología y experimentos empíricos.

 

¿Cuáles son tus bandas favoritas en el metal?

 

Bueno últimamente he estado escuchando bastante a Alter Bridge pero mi top tres de siempre es: Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd y Dream Theater.

 

¿Tienes otro trabajo?

 

Además de la música, me dedico a ser coach musical.

 

¿Escribes canciones para tu banda?

 

Escribo la mayoría de las letras.

 

¿Fernanda, eres muy hermosa. Dinos, alguna vez has sufrido de alguna lesión?

 

Sabes, las chicas a veces enloquecen y hacen tonterías. He sido amenazada muchas veces, incluso llegue a pensar en que se había convertido en un nuevo hobbie que nunca desee.

 

Cuando ellas hacen esas cosas, yo solo pienso: pobrecitas, necesitan un abrazo. Es triste en verdad pero agradezco los cumplidos.

 

Háblanos un poco sobre tu banda Overdrive, es interesante y suena a jazz y blues.

¿Consideras importante la originalidad y libertad para hacer cosas nuevas en la escena del rock?

 

Para mí la música se trata de hacer lo que dicta tu corazón, y el rock por si mismo implica hacer lo que quieras! Así que para mí eso es un sí, absolutamente.

 

La libertad es muy importante y necesaria! Solo siéntelo, hazlo y que no te importe lo que la gente piense, solo se honesto contigo mismo.

 

¿Qué significa para ti el jazz y el blues?

 

Es algo que toca mi alma.

 

¿Cómo te uniste a la banda Overdrive?

 

Me llamaron para una prueba y afortunadamente les gusto. Fui la ultima en unirme a la banda.

 

Cuéntanos sobre su álbum debut, ¿cómo fue la producción? En el vídeo de Love tricks luces muy sexy, dinos ¿cuál fue la inspiración para esa canción?

 

La producción fue independiente, lo hicimos entre todos nosotros. La vida nos inspira por sí misma, todos podemos ser sensuales y disfrutar de ella.

 

Todos podemos descubrirnos a nosotros mismos, descubrir a los demás y experimentar nuevas sensaciones. De esto se trata la vida, de vivirla!

 

¿Qué podemos esperar de Overdrive para este año 2015?

 

Acabamos de lanzar un nuevo vídeo para la canción Overdrive y esperamos lanzar un álbum lleno de sorpresas para este año.

 

¿Tienes algún proyecto paralelo a Overdrive?

 

Así es, estoy grabando con una banda de otra ciudad y me mudare a los Ángeles por unos meses. Pero no puedo contarte más! Manténganse conectados a las nuevas noticias.

 

¿Qué estilo prefieres: Heavy, Goth, Symphonic, Power o Melodic Death? ¿Por qué?

 

Prefiero el Heavy, no puedo decirte por qué. Simplemente va más conmigo.

 

¿Algo más que quieras compartir con tus fans?
